SIGSEGV when running simple query

I hope this is the right place to report/ask for help, if not, tell me please.
When trying DB XML (version 24.16) I've managed to get this nasty
segfault. It happened when I've changes starts-with() to ends-with()
XQuery function in my query. I've defined a substring node index for the
element the function is applied to.
Followin is the only the start of the stack trace, I'll provide full log and every
addotional information I can get if it can help to solve this problem.

Hello,
The queries you posted look like this:
String query;
//query = "collection(\"jmdict\")/JMdict/entry--r_ele/reb=$searchedString--";
query = "collection(\"jmdict\")/JMdict/entry[r_ele/reb[http://contains(.,$searchedString)]]";
//query = "collection(\"jmdict\")/JMdict/entry[r_ele/reb[http://starts-with(.,$searchedString)]]";
//query = "collection(\"jmdict\")/JMdict/entry[r_ele/reb[http://ends-with(.,$searchedString)]]";
{code}
See this link for some formatting tips:
It's the link off the FAQ in the upper right of this page.
I can get your container but what I'd need is more specifics on the variable string being used and the actual query that fails.  The ones above won't parse so it's not really clear what you intend.

  • Getting SQL*Net more data from client waits when running a query through web based interface

    Hi, you all,
We are having this weird behavior when running query through web based interface, we get a lot of "SQL*Net more data from client" waits, the OEM indicates that the current wait event is SQL*Net more data from client
It's just a very simple query wich invokes a db link.
When I execute the same query on any PL/SQL tool like toad or sql developer it works fine, but that query inside an application executed through a web based interface, it hangs for ever.
Where can I start looking for the problem.
We are working on a 3 Node RAC 11gr2, both databases are on the same RAC.
    Thanks.

    Hi ,
we managed to reproduce the case in test environment, below are the steps:
1)have 2 databases on different machines, will call the first one local, the other one remote.
    2)in the local database create:
a - DBLink to remote database.
b - read data from remote database(we simply used select count(*) from dummy_table )
c - insert data into a table on the local database
d - terminate the connection between the 2 databases (disconnect either machine from the network)
e - commit on local database.
what we noticed was the following:
1)when the local database is disconnected from the network(the machine is not connected to any network at the moment): almost immediately throws an error, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;we found some data .
    2) when the remote database was disconnected(the local database is still connected to the network):
after 7-8 seconds an error is thrown, and issuing the following:
select * from dba_2pc_pending;did not return any data.
since this is pretty similar to our case ,we concluded that it's a network issue.
is this the correct behavior ?
as a temporary solution till the network issue is fixed ,we did the following:
    1) changed the call of the remote procedure to calling a local procedure that calls the remote procedure.
    2) added pragma autonomous_transaction to the local procedure.
    3) at the end of the local procedure rollback the autonomous transaction.
it seems that since the global transaction does not use the DBLink database does not issue a 2PC commit.
this works in my cases since the DBLink is only issed to read data.

  • 'Structure Changed' Error when running a query

    Hi,
I created a query with 2 structures. One structure for the time periods and one with Key figures (Calc and Restricted).
The query ran fine and subsequently I put this into a workbook which had other queries and made a workbook type report.
I modified the structure with the key figures recently and when I run the query now a popup box appears saying "warning; structure changed" and lists down the query elements that I changed, and subsequently the query does not run (no data is displayed).
But if I open the same query in design mode and do nothing and run the query again (with the same input parameters), it runs ok.
Please advise on how I can sort this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dominic

    Hi,
If you want, you can remove the query with 'Remove Query' option in the BEx toolbar and then re-insert the query and then save the changes to the workbook. The next time, you refresh the workbook you won't get any such messages.
    Thanks

  • When running a query of a 0IC_C03 cube copy inventory shows as blank

When loading the 0IC_C03 cube copy ZMM_C01 Cube: Material Stocks/Movements, if there
is no movements for that day in a plant the inventory values do not show when we run a query on that key date
When we create a movement type and run the extraction then the ending inventory values
will show when we run a query usig that key date.
So if there are no movements types for a plant  then the inventory balance does not show up in our query reports. Once we post a
movement type for a plant and extract data then rerun our reports then the inventory balances show up.

  • "SYSTEM_FAILURE" error message when running BEX query

    Hello,
I often encounter this error when I run BEX queries (take note that I encounter this error after I have already entered the query values). But when I run the same query in a later time, the query becomes successful, which makes the problem intermittent. I only encounter this when running BEX but I don't encounter such error when I'm running the query in RSRT and displaying it in SAP instead of in Excel. I hope you have any idea about this. Thank you.

    Hi Lee,
Check transaction ST22 or SM21 after you get that message.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
We can do this setting in WAD. Please check the web template and try to remove that setting. When you have hierarchy then we can display only till certain level in portal, this setting is done in web template APIs, but in bex analyzer you can see all the detailed information.

  • Help! no response when doing SIMPLE query!

I meet a strange problem when I do a SIMPLE query on a table in Oracle 8.1.7, just like:
    SELECT id FROM person WHERE id='12345';
Most of id values are ok to the query, except some values.
Whether I use these values in sqlplus or JDBC, mostly, no response is returned!! And I find the session in Oracle always keeps the status 'Active'. But in few scenario I can get the result quickly.
I don't know the reason. Help me please!
    Thanks a lot!
    Meyor

I'm not sure if the 'id' column contains something else.
When I shutdown and restart the database, the problem seems to be "solved". If the problem reoccurs again, I will try to use xTRIM functions.
    Thanks!

  • Choosing a Context when running a Query

    Hello,
    I have 4 Facts Tables my Universe A, B, C & D, thus have 4 context paths
A, B, C and fact tables and share common dimensions within them.  D is a view which I created which takes the value from the A & B Fact tables .
I ran a query which takes all values from D and it works fine, however when I run a query taking all values from either A or B, it asks me to choose the context.  The best part is that the context which query is based out of is not selected.
Question) How do I ensure that I do not get this message every time, as the intent is that all the data for all the filters will be dumped into Excel via QAAWS for the Xcelsius dashboard.
    Please advice.

I have a star schema, ie 5 FACT tables and 7 dimension tables, All fact tables share the same dimension tables, some FACT tables share 3 dimesnsions, while other share 5 dimensions.
I did adopt the best practices, and as recommended in the book, I tried to resolve them using Context, as it is the recommended option to Alias in a star schema setting.  The contexts are resolved, but I still have loops.  I also cleared the Multiple SQL Statement for each context option, but no luck.  I need to get this resoved ASAP,
I checked all the context and they look fine, however when I again go to detect context it asks me to add the context which is already present.  It give me an option to overwrite?  Besides, I also get some Alias options.  However I was told and it was mentioned in the book that Alias is not a good option to resolve loops but context is when you have a STAR SCHEMA.
    Please suggest idea.

Open a command prompt and type
sqlplus sys/syspwd@instance as sysdbaand you'll have yourself a sqlprompt.

  • Upload a text file of values when run a query

In SAP BW 3.x BEx Analyzer, we can import a text file with list of values for each variable.
For example, you want to run a report for certain product numbers, but say the prod no list is of 3000 no's long, it'll take the user forever to select and enter them in the report entry variable, so instead you upload a text file, with all this list of 3000 prod no's and run the report.
Does this option still exist anywhere for version 7.0? BI Analyzer is different than Bex Analyzer. Can anyone explain it? Thanks!

    Hi Qingbo,
Not using any standard solution (i don't know any in 3.5) you can use an variable of type exit. Inside the variable value calculation, you can use a flat file stored in the application server to read the values of the variable.
Another option is to store those values in a cube (mantained using flat file upload or a BPS layout) and use a replacement path variable using a query over this cube to run the query you need.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Suman,
Check the table rszglobv for this variable - ZCONLEH.
If it is available there then see which infoobject it belongs to and then look for that in the query designer. May be resaving the query solves the issue.
If the variable is not available in the table, then it seems that the variable is lost and you might have to recreate it for keeping the semantics of the query the same as it was before the upgrade.

  • Problem when running a query

    Dear all,
When i run a qurey ,i got the wrong message:
Cannot load query "Z1SC_O40_Q002" (data provider "DP_1": No authorization for requested service)
I think i forget to add an Authorization Object for the user. Thank you ~
    Best wishes!

    Aaron,
Execute this query  "Z1SC_O40_Q002" with an admin/master user as the user in this case is causing this issue.
You can do this by going to transaction RSECADMIN -> Users-> Execute as, please use the option with
log, execute the query, then afterwards go back and check the authorization log, to display the rights provided
    to this user.
    I hope this will help,
    Diego.

  • Oracle 8.1.7 and Redhat 6.2EE SIGSEGV when running netasst

I've managed to install this ok - at least the core server is fine.
Unfortunately when I attempt to run almost any of the graphical java admin. utilities, eg oemapp, dbasst, netasst, owm. They fail with something like:
SIGSEGV received at befffac0 in /usr/X11R6/lib/libXt.so.6. Processing terminated
Writing stack trace to javacore1268.txt ... OK
The funny thing is dbasst actually runs about 1% of the times I run it. The rest never do.
I can run over applications that use X11 fine.
I am using the JRE that came with the oracle install (IBM1.1.8)
I have also tried other JREs.
I have also tried unset LANG (as mentioned in other posts)
Please help - I'm really stuck.

    I've finally solved it!
I downloaded the following jre from blackdown:
    jre118_v3-glibc-2.1.3-DYNMOTIF.tar.bz2
It's the only one that seems to work (and god, have I tried them all!)
I've no idea what the DYNMOTIF means (apart from being something to do with Motif - but you don't have to be a linux guru to work that out ;)) - but, hell, it works.
And after sitting in front of this machine for 3 days trying to deal with Oracle's, frankly PATHETIC install, that's so full of holes and bugs, that's all I care about..
The one bundled with Oracle 8.1.7 doesn't work with Linux redhat 6.2EE.
    Don't oracle test their software?
Anyway I'm happy now, and I'm leaving this in case anybody else has the same problem.
    Thanks for everyone's help.
