Silence at the beginning of a bounced file

most times that i bounce a wave file and convert it into an mp3, i get about 20 seconds of silence at the beginning of the file and the last 20 seconds of the song is cut off. any suggestions?
thanks!

Have you checked the Locators for Bouncing? Look exactly how long your song is and where the left and right Locators are set to. If you select all regions and use the command "set locators by region lenght" and then activate cycle mode you should be fine (if there is a reverb at the end watch out for the right locator though).

I get about 1 minute silence at the beginning of the file when I bounce it.

Does this overwrite the music you have recorded? Or does it just insert 1 minute of silence and then play everything starting at measure 1?
Before you go to bounce the file 1) make sure the cycle is turned off in the transport window and 2) make sure no regions are selected.  When you go to bounce it, check what the start and end times are.
Make sure the start time is 1-1-1-1.
    Hope this helps!

  • How do I fill a gap with silence, at the beginning of a track, in multi-track mode?

    Hey everybody!
I have 2 tracks in multi-track mode ... one is Music and the other is Vocals. The music starts at the beginning and lasts 3 minutes. The vocals don't begin until 10 seconds into the music. I need to insert silence in the beginning of the Vocals, because I will be sending both tracks to a producer and I want the tracks to line up from the beginning. Otherwise, they will have to line up my vocals.
    Thanks for any help. :-)
    Joe

I would just line the vocal track up by sliding the appropriate amount and then right mouse click and bounce that track down to another track and send that one as it will have that 'silence' embedded into the start.

  • How do I add silence to the beginning of a track? Before the 10.0.3 update, you could drag the region further into the timeline and it would automatically create silence before the track plays when you export it. What am I missing?

Before the 10.0.3 update, you could drag the region further into the timeline and it would automatically create silence before the track plays when you export it. What am I missing? How do I i do this in the current version of Garage band?

what is the problem? Can't you drag the audio region to the right, or is the silence at the beginning of the track missing?
You could mark the measures you want to export by the Cycle region. Then any beginning silence will be included.

  • How do I add a pause to the beginning of TTS audio file ?

    Hello,
I am using Captivate 6, and I am having adding a pause to the beginning of my TTS audio file.  I would like to like up the text with the video.  I've attached a video to show you the problem.  Thank you!

Sorry but your video does not seem to play.
I was going to suggest, that what you want to do is actually very easy. If you have already created the TTS audio file and have it on the slide, just drag the audio file to the right on the timeline for a second or two. That will delay the start of the audio just the same way it does for any other object you want to appear at a given point.

  • %PDF - is this ALWAYS at the begining of every pdf file?

We are adding the ability to work with pdf files to our application.  And we need to identify which type of file we have.  Can I be sure that all pdf files start with the same characters? "%PDF"  And the PDF is always capitalized.
I'm pretty sure the answer is yes, but am hoping someone can confirm.
    Thanks.

Not necessarily.  While the PDF Reference/ISO 32000-1 does state that the %PDF occur at byte zero of the file, there are many PDFs out there (that Adobe's products will open just fine) where there is some amount of "stuff" that occurs before the %PDF.
So it's up to you whether you wish to support those documents or not.  But they are VERY MUCH a minority.

  • How do I append to the beginning of a text file without overwriting text already there?

I think the message body says it all.  I can certainly add new text to the file, but it is always getting overwritten.  Any suggestions?

How do you plan on reading the data?  If you plan on reading it all at once with another vi, you could reverse the string and write it to the end of the data file.  Then when you read the file, reverse again.  Presto: data in reverse chronological order.
If you want to read it with notepad or excel or something, your best bet is to use Brain's suggestion.

  • Editing and printing to the beginning of a txt file

I have to questions that I have not been able to find much on. I have an output file but instead of the new data going on bottom I would like it to go on top. I'm sure there is a method or something but I have not been able to find it. Any help would be appreciated. And I would also like this txt file to be able to be edited throught the web page I'm using so in case something changes I don't have to go in and manual do the changes on the server. Thanks in advance for the help.

alright I figured out how to put the values in at the top but I still would like a way to edit it in a browser. I was thinking of putting the entire text file back into a text area and when the submit button is hit it rewrites the entire file. Anyone done this before or got any better ideas. Thanxs.

  • In the Begining it's Flat Files - Best Practice for Getting Flat File Data

I probably should have posed this question here before I delved into writing Java to get data for reports, but better late than never.
Our ERP is written in COBOL. We have a third party ODBC which allows us to access data using a version of SQL. I have several Java sources compiled in my database that access the data and return something relevant. The Java sources are written in a procedural style rather than taking advantage of object oriented programming with attributes and methods.
Now that I am becoming more comfortable with the Java language, I would greatly appreciate any feedback as to best practices for incorporating Java into my database.
My guess is that it would be helpful to model the ERP "tables" with Java classes that would have attributes, which correspond to the fields, and methods to return the attributes in an appropriate way. Does that sound reasonable? If so, is there a way to automate the task of modeling the tables? If not reasonable, what would you recommend?
    Thanks,
    Gregory

OO is a choice not a mandate. Using Java in a procedural way is certainly not ideal but given that it is existing code I would look more into whether is well written procedural code rather than looking at the lack of OO.

You then implement using whatever means seem expedient in terms of other business constraints to closely model that data model.
It is often the case that there is a strong correlation between data models and tables but certainly in my experience it is rare when there are not other needs driven by the data model (such as how foreign keys and link tables are implemented and used.)

  • My story file stuck a blank page 1 at the beginning.

How do I get rid of a blank page 1 at the beginning of my story file? It won't let me get rid of it.

I'm having the same problem, only it's the page immediately after the title page.  Everything had been working beautifully with Adobe Story but coincidentally, when I got on Adobe Story this morning, it asked to update.  Is this just a coincidence?
Also, this glitch is several years old, per previous forums.  Was it ever fixed???
I tried both copy and cutting and pasting to that second page to work around it.  Instead, it added some of the beginning of the script to the title page and did not paste the rest of the script, however, it did paste this same peice on the second page.  I couldn't edit this either, nor delete it.  I could only undo to get back to the original problem.

  • Audio gets cut off at the beginning of slides

I created a presentation with voice over narration, which is to be delivered via the internet.  The problem I am having is that the first couple seconds of each slide narration often get clipped. I've tried many different approaches to fix this.  One that has been marginally effective, but not 100%, is to leave a second or two of silence at the beginning of each slide.  I have also tried all of the different preload settings and lowered the audio quality as well. I just wish there was a way to make each slide pause until enough of the audio track was transferred, then start playing. Has anyone else had this problem, or better yet had any success fixing it?  Thanks in advance.

If you have not upgraded to version 7 you should do that.
If you have upgraded to Version 7, be sure to do the updates to 7.0.5
Go to the Help menu and select 'About Adobe Presenter' to see what version, if it is 7.0, to 7.0.2 you need to update it
drop down the help menu again and you will see an 'update' option.
you need to install in order - 7.0.1, then 7.0.2 then 7.0.5 - you cannot install all at once
another thing you might want to do is open the file you are working on in 7.0.5 snd save it out with a new filename in a new location to combat that pesky problem of the 'media.ppcx' file disappearing....

  • Crackle noise with plug-ins at the beginning of a region

I've experienced problems with some TC plug-ins and logic. Mostly with the Brickwall Limiter and TC Helicon Voice Modeler.
When I insert one of those plug-ins in a track, the crackle noise occures when the SPL is almost before the start of the region. So, when this region starts at measure 5 I hear this crackle noise somewhere in measure 4 (also in the bounce). And here is the most stupid workaround!! I have to place a dummy region before measure one of the song. Now, I can bounce the song (from measure -1). I still have this crackle at the beginning of my bounce (before the music starts) but now I can cut it because its at the beginning of the song. The crackle doesn't occure a second time, only when the first region on this track is passed.
I had some consultation with TC and they asked me to send them a file although they didn't know about this phenomenon.
They also recommended to experiment with "automatic delay compensation" and buffer size but it didn't help. Any ideas??

  • Adding a few seconds at the beginning of a song

I would like to add a few seconds of silence at the beginning of a song. (Live performance routine requires a couple of seconds for transition and I can't get physically back to the ipod to make it pause while things happen) Can I use the start time / stop time options for this? How?
I have the playlist just exactly as I like it right now. I don't want to insert pauses between all the songs ... I just want this one song to have a three or four second pause at its beginning
    HELP!!
    thanks

Use the freeware Audacity to produce a 4 seconds of silence file. Audacity may be able to produce the MP3 file, or if not you can use iTunes to encode your 4 sec silence to MP3.
Use a program like MP3Trimmer to combine this silence file with your file.
I suggest combining with MP3Trimmer rather than importing both into Audacity and then reexporting because if you re-export it will re-encode your music MP3 causing additional quality loss. MP3Trimmer file combining is splicing files rather than re-encoding.
Mp3Trimmer is shareware but with fairly liberal trial conditions. There may be freeware that does this but I have MP3Trimmer so I haven't investigated further.

  • Silence at the end of a vocal track in garageband?

I tried piecing together two vocal tracks in garageband, but when i did so, there was a silence in the beginning of the second track. When i moved the second track a few bars forward it would play normally, but if i put it right behind the other track, there is a silence before the second part plays. How do i fix this? Please help!

Have you tried to trim the audio regions and remove the silence at the start and the end, before you join the regions in one track? You can either select the region, position the cursor at the end of the silent part and then use command-T to split the region, then delete the silent part, or simply position the cursor at the end of the loop the end of the region and drag the end to trim it and to remove the silence.

if i bounce my project the bounced file is not the same as the original.
it has about ten seconds at the beginning free and the end is 10 sec cut off.
    what is the bug?
i start the bouncing with the transport lokator as 1 1 1   1
and ends where it sould be over.
but the first 10 seconds are silent then it starts with the beginning of the song and the last 10 seconds are cut off.
