Silent fail with Flashbuilder due to Windows indexing service!

Hi,
since I installed Flashbuilder b1 in April I got again and again silent fails.
I could change by code, but sometimes all changes where ignored. That was very frustrating.
Last week I switched the index service off, and voila no more problems since then!!!
It seems to lock some files, that seems to block eclipse somehow.
You can deativate it for Vista under
right mouse on Hardisk Partition->Properties
deselect the the checkbox "Index this drive for faster searching"
Confirm it for all folder.
Hope this will help someone!
Martin Zach

Hi David,
you can test it if you like:
Switch on indexing for your project folder. Within 7 days you will get problems for shure!
I realized it because I got the problem again, that Flashbuilder stopped to compile my new code and used the old compiled files.
Then I left for an appointment for about 3 hours. After I returned, I tried it again and then it works! I haven't changed any of my code or configuration.
Martin

    if I am correct, X-CalculatedBETarget supposed to be DEVNAABCD01B.devna.mydomain.com but it connected to different domain devapwxyz01a.devap.mydomain.com.  Do you guys have any idea on this?  (I verified
    the same using fiddler, it is failing right at autodiscover.svc call.)
    I wrote a powershell script to connect autodiscover service in sharepoint server & this web service call able connect right server X-CalculatedBETarget. It gave the expected response.
    I am not sure why SharePoint webservice call (X-CalculatedBETarget) is going to different server?
    let me know if you guys have any ideas.
    Thanks.

    Thanks for the Response Raj.
    I already followed the same instructions in the Links.
    When SharePoint Autodisover.svc webservice send a request to Exchange server & Exchange server redirecting that request to different server, this is the problem i am facing right now.

  • Connector install fails with Server Error on Windows 8.1 Pro

    I have tried everything and cannot get the connector software to install on my computer.
    Server=Dell PowerEdge R210II, Windows 2012 Essentials
    Computer = Dell Inspiron 17R, Windows 8.1 Professional
    LAN = 192.168.0.0/24, Server is 192.168.0.2, not using IPv6 but it's enabled on server and clients. Computers get IP and config from DHCP, DNS only points to server. servername.domain.local resolves fine. I can also join the computer to AD the old way
    (without connector). I have other Windows 8 comptuers on the domain that have the connector installed.

    I found the issue. The web.config file became damaged on the server. C:\Program Files\Windows Server\Bin\WebApps\CertWebService\Web.config is the file. Performed a search and replace, replace all instances of "%SBSPRODUCTBINPLACEHOLDER% with C:\Program Files\Windows
    Server\Bin, restart IIS and run the Connector software install again. Here is a KB on the issue:

  • Problem with iTunes theme "Silent Night" with iTunes 11 in Windows 7

    Hi, I'd been using the iTunes theme "Silent Night" with iTunes 10.7 in Windows 7, and i upgraded to iTunes 11 before uninstalling that theme.
    Now when I try uninstalling the theme using the method that came with "Silent Night", it does nothing.
    can help me?
    thanks!

    iTunes doesn't actually support themes/skins. Some of the sites offering such things are blocked but this one makes it clear that the skin isn't supported on iTunes 11 and attempting to install it will break iTunes. I suspect installing iTunes 11 would have overwitten all the mods caused by the theme so there is probably nothing left to uninstall.

    any ideas why its failing?

    Hi,
    I've seen the same error on a customer where we had Windows Intune Client (SCCM) installed previously. Did you try it on a newly deployed computer? If you had Intune or another CCM client on it previously make sure you clean it up. Here is a well formulated
    instruction:
    http://douwevanderuit.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/removing-windows-intune-client/
    Usually when deploying to many clients we use a startup script, there is a great one that Jason Sandys made in the link below.
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-startup-script/
    There should be no problems deploying SCCM 2012 R2 clients on Windows 8.1 unless there is something wrong with either the setup or the client computer.

  • Cisco VPN client install fails with Error 1722 on Windows 7

    Hi,
    I am having issues with laptops upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
    Prior to the upgrade they are running Cisco VPN Client 5.0.05.0290.  These laptops also have Juniper Network Connect 6.5 and Citrix web client installed.  The windows upgrade advisor made no recommendations regarding uninstalling / reinstalling these apps.
    I have done an inplace upgade to Windows 7 (Windows Vista Enterprise 32bit to Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit) and after the install the Cisco client is not working.  Uninstalled the client (the uninstall was successful) then reinstalled and the installation fails at Installing Cisco Systems Virtual Adapter - error 1722 there was a problem with the windows installer package.
    I have followed the steps for a manual uninstall of the Cisco client and then tried the install again - still not successful.  Interestingly (or not) the Juniper Network Connect also fails with the error The Network Connect Virtual adapter driver is not installed properly.  This also fails to reinstall after being removed.
    I tried removing the VPN clients on another laptop and then running the upgrade but the same errors occured when reinstalling the VPN Client.  I have tried the Winfix and DNE patch from Citrix but these fail saying there is a corruption in the application.
    On another laptop where only the Cisco VPN client was installed a reinstall was required after the upgrade, but it did install successfully.
    On a clean image these applications all install fine, however I have a large number of laptops do upgrade and don't want to do a fresh install and settings migration on all of them.
    What files / registry entrys are involved with the DNE adapter so I can manually clear it all out before reinstalling?
    Anything else I can do to troubleshoot this issue?
    Cheers,
    James

    You should be able to install the 64 bit version of the Cisco VPN software
    Latest version is vpnclient-winx64-msi-5.0.07.0440-k9.exe
    You should download and run MCPR.exe first, to clean out any traces of McAfee products that conflict with Cisco VPN.
    http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe
    If there is a problem with vbscript registration on the system - there is a fixit tool from Microsoft for that:
    MicrosoftFixit50842.msi
    (Using Shrew VPN is a possible workaround.)

    Also can I get you to re-name the install shield folder which is located under C:\Program files\common files.  Once you re-name the folder, then try to install the software.
    I look forward to your reply.

  • Inverse relationships silently failing with dual queries

    Now this is a really weird one. (2.2.3, 1.3.1_03, w2k)
    I have some test code to do simple queries
    public Project findProjectByName(String name) {
    return (Project) findByName(Project.class, name);
    public User findUserByName(String name) {
    return (User) findByName(User.class, name);
    private Object findByName(Class clazz, String name) {
    Extent extent = pm.getExtent(clazz, true);
    Query query = pm.newQuery(clazz, extent, "this.name == name");
    query.declareParameters("String name");
    Collection results = (Collection) query.execute(name);
    if (results.size() != 1) {
    throw new IllegalStateException("wrong result count " +
    results.size() + " of " + clazz.getName() + ": " +
    name);
    Object result = results.iterator().next();
    query.closeAll();
    return result;
    and some relationships defined
    which has relationships defined as
    <class name="Permission"/>
    <class name="Project" requires-extent="true">
    <field name="permissions">
    <collection element-type="Permission"/>
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="inverse"
    value="project"/>
    </field>
    </class>
    <class name="User" requires-extent="true">
    <field name="permissions">
    <collection element-type="Permission"/>
    <extension vendor-name="kodo" key="inverse" value="user"/>
    </field>
    </class>
    and some code which uses it.
    Project itpap = findProjectByName("itpap");
    User geoff = findUserByName("geoff");
    System.out.println("itpap: permissions" + itpap.getPermissions());
    System.out.println("geoff: permissions" + geoff.getPermissions());
    Problem is, it prints out:
    itpap: permissions[com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@6c6696,
    com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@431340]
    geoff: permissions[]
    That is, the inverse relationship for the User object seems to be silently
    failing.
    So I tried reversing the order of the find methods, like so:
    User geoff = mm.findUserByName("geoff");
    Project itpap = mm.findProjectByName("itpap");
    System.out.println("itpap: permissions" + itpap.getPermissions());
    System.out.println("geoff: permissions" + geoff.getPermissions());
    Same problem.
    Then, I tried modifying it to:
    Project itpap = findProjectByName("itpap");
    System.out.println("itpap: permissions" + itpap.getPermissions());
    User geoff = findUserByName("geoff");
    System.out.println("geoff: permissions" + geoff.getPermissions());
    And now it works fine, I get
    itpap: permissions[com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@4247a0,
    com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@6c6696]
    geoff: permissions[com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@2bb7e0,
    com.cisco.apit.itpap.model.Permission@6c6696]
    How weird is that? It seems like the syptoms would be best descibed by "if
    you query for two objects separately, then navigating to a related object
    from one of the queried objects breaks any subsequent attempted navigation
    to a related objects for the other".
    Cheers
    Geoff

    Hi Geoff,
    Check out my posts on "2.2.3GA Transparent Navigation of two-way one-to-one relationship failing"
    (March 9th and following.) Sounds like we may be looking at the same bug. I don't know if this has
    been fixed in 2.2.4.

  • Mx.services.WebService() fails with Can't Find Method in Service

    When I test in debug mode, my webservices fail with can't

  • Issue using Flash IDE with Mac OS and Windows Web Service using NTLM authentication?

    I have an existing application that I developed on a Windows machine using CS5.  It uses a local intranet web service written in .NET using NTLM authentication.  The web service does multiple things such as read data from an SQL database, provide the user's username, and test for write/read access to a local company fileshare.  When my company upgraded, I went to a Mac with Flash CC which is great.  However, Mac's don't handle HTTP Authorization Challenge Blocks like Windows machines.  In Safari, Chrome, etc. it will pop up a little username and password box and proceed on without issue.  The issue is in Flash development.  When running the exact same application in Flash testing all script access fails with HTTP Status 401 errors.  I have searched the AS3 documentation, but the only thing built in to handle http challenge requests is in AIR not Flash.  The server admin's and I have tried all method's of cross domain policy files and access changes with no luck at all.  Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

  • Staging fails with x64 WinPE on windows 8.1 Update

    Hi,
    I am facing issue in staging x64 boot file on windows 8.1 Update. It is config manager 2012 R2.
    I know there is some issues staging boot files (32 and 64 bit both) on windows XP but do we have any issues related to boot files not working on windows 8.1 update 1 also?
    I have created TS that will take usmt and then redeploy 8.1 update. TS starts and perform USMT backup but fails at staging the boot files. Pl. find screen shot as below..
    Regards,

    Open cmtrace.exe, navigate to Tools -> Error lookup and check what 80070020 tells you.

  • Safari on Windows 7 with Silverlight 4 and Windows RIA Services

    I have an application using the above technologies and it's working with issue on Windwos 7 (fully patched OS) using IE 7+ and Chrome 18, Macbook OSX 10.7.4 using Safari 5.1.5+ and Chrome 18.  Today, I upgraded from Safari 5.1.5 to 5.1.7 on my Windows 7 development system and decided to run some tests.  The application failed to work properly.  I ran a Fiddler 2 trace of the RIA conversation and discovered that the POST Content-Length was set to zero and the POST content itself was empty using Safari 5.1.5+ but was fine in the other browsers.  When Safari closes the tab or window, I get the webkit2webprocess.exe needs to restart dialog.
    This one has me baffled!  Any ideas? Has anyone else noticed this?
    Brad

    Don't worry I have the bookmarks back.
    I don't know why but they took a couple of hours to sync up whereas normally it is almost instantaneous.

  • Sharepoint 2013 adding ECT fails with "Access Denied by Business Connectivity Service"

    Using SharePoint Designer 2013 I am attempting to setup an External Content Type to a SQL DB. I have setup the SQL database with a valid login that was also used to setup an account with the Secure Store Service. I am running SharePoint 2013 designer and
    have opened my site with administrative credentials. No matter what, I continue to get the "access denied" message when I try to add this SQL database to my ECT section in SPD. All users have access to invoke the BCS app.
    I have deleted and recreated the BCS service application and it is running with farm credentials and temporarily I added the farm account to the local admin account....and again verified that all users have rights to run BCS...
    In all other aspects my SharePoint sites are working, I can modify and add via SPD and publish...etc...but I cannot add a connection to an external SQL server. I have also verified through Excel that I can connect to my SQL DB with the same credentials that
    I am trying in SharePoint and everything works.
    Most of the posts I see in this area relate to permissions or access problems AFTER the ECT connection is created. My problem is I can't even get a connection created.

    Here are the error logs that are generated when I try to connect....maybe this will help someone tell me where to correct the issue.....(I removed the actual domain names) but my account was listed which is an admin on the sharepoint system and domain.
