Silent install ADDLOCAL options

I cannot find any documentation that list the available Data Services ADDLOCAL silent installation options.  Tons of information on the web about BOE install options but not Data Services.
I can use an educated guess for some of them but does anyone have an exhaustive list?
Product Group...can you please update the installation guide in the next patch release?  The install guide does mention including an example but then no example is provided.  Thanks
Chuck

In order to get the required information, we ended up submitting a support ticket.  Here is the information received:
ADDLOCAL provides the following options:
Data_Integrator
Data_Integrator_Designer
Data_Integrator_Client

  • Weblogic 6.0 Silent Install CHOSEN_INSTALL_SET Options?

I am looking for the valid options for the CHOSEN_INSTALL_SET option within
    the Weblogic 6.0 silent installation.
According to page 2-4 of the Installation Guide - the SERVER value is used
to install both the program files and the samples.
What value(s) should be used to install the program files only?
Note: By trying to relate the GUI choices to the silent install, it looks
like the option should be some derivative of CUSTOM SET, CUSTOM_SET,
CUSTOMSET, CUSTOM-SET, etc. buth then there seems to be a need to include a
parameter to specify what the custom choices are.
    Thanks,

Unfortunately, that is not yet supported. We plan to add that feature in

  • Silent install of JRE 7 with some options FAILS

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure a silent install of JRE 7 using NSIS.
The command line that launches the JRE installation is this:
    jre-7u4-windows-i586.exe /s INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\MyApp\Java" STATIC=1 /L "C:\Program Files (x86)\MyApp\log\jre_7_inst.log"
But when launched (both from NSIS script and from command line) a windows popup explaining the options for launching the MSI installer tells me that there's something wrong with the .exe that launches the MSI with these options.
My system is a Windows 7 64bits and I'm trying to install a JRE 32bits, as this is what's needed for my app.
Any ideas of what can be failing?
    It would be much appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,

  • What silent install command line option will Adobe change to next?

I just discovered that Adobe has, yet again, changed the command line syntax for doing a silent install of the flash player. Apparently it's now just "-install" to do a silent install. Which makes me wonder, what will they call it next version?
    I have a few theories...
    install_flash_player_11.exe -fuggedaboudit
    install_flash_player_11.exe -BeVewwyBewwyQwiet
    install_flash_player_11.exe /@?-[BR-549]

  • Silent Install of JRE 1.4.2_02

I am having trouble running a silent install of the JRE. I've referenced the following document, but have not had any luck. http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/guide/plugin/developer_guide/silent.html
The command I attempted to use is:
    j2re-1_4_2_02-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v
Is this not the correct format? I tried many different versions of the command based on the silent install document, none worked. I still get prompted to accept the install.
    http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.4.2_02/jre/install-windows.html

I would like to execute a silent install of other java components, namely the Java Advanced Imaging package. I have tried a combination of the arguments to the .exe installers, but it only seems to unpackage to the temp directory, which gets deleted 30 seconds later and nothing gets installed.
I can't really provide an .iss file, because the install location may change. So, I'd like to be able to provide all the necessary info at the command-line. Below is my command-line, anyone see anything overtly wrong?
    C:\Projects\thirdparty\jai\jai-1_1_2-lib-windows-i586-jdk.exe -a /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL NETSCAPE6=1 MOZILLA=1 IEXPLORER=1 INSTALLDIR=%JAVA_HOME%/jre REBOOT=Suppress"
    Notes:
If I don'g provide the -a option, it ignores the silent option and the install gui is displayed anyway.
JAVA_HOME environment variable is currently set.
    Thanks.

  • Silent install with registration number

Is there a way to embed the registration number into the command line of a silent install for Crystal Reports 2008? That way users won't have to enter it after the install.

You can use the PIDKEY silent command line option.
I am pasting a snippet from page 27 the Crystal Report 2008 Install Guide pdf.
There is also a table of the most common command line switches available.
    http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/cr2008/en/xir3_cr_install_en.pdf
    =======================================================================
    Command line silent installation
The silent installation command consists of the command setup.exe, followed
by a number of parameters that provide information about the installation.
The following example creates a sub-directory /Crystal Reports and installs
    Crystal Reports into it:
    setup.exe ADDLOCAL=ALL CLIENTLANGUAGE=<%langcode%> REBOOT=Re
    allySuppress PIDKEY=<%keycode%> INSTALLDIR="C:\Program
    Files\Business Objects" /qn
u2022 <%langcode%> Replace this variable with a valid language code from the
    following table.
u2022 <%keycode%> Replace this variable with a valid product activation keycode.
The example uses the most common parameters. You can choose any
number of valid parameters, but it is good practice to keep the silent
    installation as simple as possible.

  • Deplyoing J2SE SDK using silent install

    Hi,
for a software application that generates java code after deployment we need to install the SDK with our software package. I found the instructions for the silent installation for the runtime environment, but they apparently do not work for the SDK. I use this command line:
    j2sdk-1_4_2-windows-i586.exe /s /v"/qn /L D:\Web6020\setup.log ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 INSTALLDIR=D:\Web6020 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 WEBSTARTICON=0 CUSTOM=1"
The log file claims that the installation was successful, but this installation does not install half the things that the standard, guided installation places in the designated folder.
Can this approach of a silent install be used for the SDK in the same way as for the runtime only ? If yes, what needs to be changed in the above command in order to get the full SDK installed with runtime and everyhting ?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm packaging the JRE 5.0 Update 8 client for our Windows XP SP2 desktops. I need to disable the update feature in the Java client. I packaged the previous version (5.0 Update 6) and disabled the autoupdate without any problems, but for some reason, it isn't working the same in Update 8.
The problem is, after I install the client while attempting to disable the autoupdate, if I open the Java Control Panel (if I leave the tray icon enabled) the Update tab is still there and the "Check for Updates Automatically" box is still checked and the following registry entry is set:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Update\Policy
    EnableJavaUpdate = 1
I've read the doc... http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.5.0/docs/guide/deployment/deployment-guide/silent.html . I've tried installing it with several different options, including:
    jre-1_5_0_08-windows-i586-p-s.exe /s /v"/qb-! IEXPLORER=1 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 AUTOUPDATECHECK=0 JU=0 SYSTRAY=0"
I also tried taking the .msi that's created in %temp% when you run jre-1_5_0_08-windows-i586-p-s.exe and applying a .mst that I created and setting the public properties (IEXPLORER, REBOOT, JAVAUPDATE, JU, UPDATECHECK and SYSTRAY) in the Property table of the mst.
Neither the command line switches or the .mst I created work.
How can I completely disable the update and remove the Update tab?
    Thank you in advance.

  • J2SE JDK 1.6.0_18 silent install ignores arguments

I'm trying to install J2SE 1.6.0_18 on Windows XP Professional w/ SP3 via the command line silent install function, and I'm trying to get all 3 portions of the install (JDK, JRE and JavaDB) to install to the D:\ drive. From what I've read in the forums and from the instructions I found on the [webnotes page|http://java.sun.com/javase/6/webnotes/install/jdk/install-windows.html] , I came up with the following command that should work:
jdk-6u18-windows-i586.exe /s INSTALLDIR=\"d:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_18\" INSTALLDIRPUBJRE=\"d:\Program Files\Java\jre6\" INSTALLDIRJAVADB=\"d:\Program Files\Sun\JavaDB\"However, when the command is run, the JDK is installed to the correct location, but the JRE and JavaDB are installed to their default locations.
I've also run the installation through the GUI and noticed that even there, there is no option to specify where the JavaDB gets installed. I'm able to specify the location for the JDK and the JRE, but that's it.
Any thoughts or suggestions? Maybe something I've missed?

Try the following with the parameter INSTALLDIR without forward slash and both */INSTALLDIRJAVADB* and */INSTALLDIRPUBJRE* with forward slash
jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe /s INSTALLDIR=\"c:\java\jdk-6u26\" /INSTALLDIRJAVADB=\"c:\java\javadb-6u26\" /INSTALLDIRPUBJRE=\"c:\java\jre-6u26\"If you want to use ADDLOCAL please note that */INSTALLDIRJAVADB* and/or */INSTALLDIRPUBJRE* only work if the values PublicjreFeature and/or JavaDBFeature are in ADDLOCAL. e.g.
    jdk-6u26-windows-i586.exe /s ADDLOCAL="ToolsFeature,DemosFeature,SourceFeature,JavaDBFeature,PublicjreFeature" INSTALLDIR=\"c:\java\jdk-6u26\" /INSTALLDIRJAVADB=\"c:\java\javadb-6u26\" /INSTALLDIRPUBJRE=\"c:\java\jre-6u26\"

  • Problems performing silent install of CR XI Rel 2

We are using the instructions from the installation guide to perform a silent install by running the command
    setup.exe ADDLOCAL=ALL EXCLUDEDOTNETFILES=1 EXCLUDEJAVAFILES=1 EXCLUDERDCFILES=1 CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN REBOOT=ReallySuppress PIDKEY=(actualKey) INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Business Objects\Crystal Reports 11.5" /live c:\temp\cr_11.log /qn
The installation runs but fails at the end of the installation when attempting to put the shortcuts in the users or All users Start Menu with the error of MainEngineThread is returning 1603 (when under user ID) or MainEngineThread is returning 1604 (when under All Users).  The installation is being run with an administrator access login ID, so access to either area should not be a problem.
The installation is on both Windows 2000 and XP pc's and the win32 directory of the msi installation files have been copied locally to the machine as part of the process to eliminate network lag.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get past this?

Check the readme and help files on  how to.

  • How can I perform a silent install of an application AND use "run executable after installation"

I am trying to do a silent install of a program I built using LabVIEW 8.5.  I also need to call an exe after the installation, so I am using the "run executable after installation" option on the Advanced tab of the installer.  I then pass the following command lines to the setup.exe:
    /qb /acceptlicenses yes /r
This installs the LabVIEW program successfully, but does not then run the additional exe afterward.  If I run the setup.exe normally (with no command line parameters), the additional exe gets run.
    Thanks,

  • "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall" following CF9 silent install

When running a silent CF9 install I'm unable to remove the product, either through control panel or running the uninstaller directly.  The error is "You do not have sufficient access to uninstall Adobe Coldfusion 9.  Please contact your system administrator."   Coldfusion works perfectly fine after the silent install, it just cannot be cleanly removed
This is being run as a local administrator on Windows 2008 R2 SP1 in both cases, from an elevated command prompt.  If I run the installer interactively with the same settings it works as expected and can be removed without any trouble

  • Silent install in the enterprise

    Hi.
Please can you let me know if there has been any update on how to perform a silent install for Adobe Digital Editions. I specifically want to automate the activation process for multiple users by selecting the do not authorise option automatically so the install completes without any user interaction.
    Thanks

Thanks "Frustrated AZ", that 'contradiction' does make sense although it does slightly leave us business users out in the cold. My challenge is that the UK's largest legal services provider has chosen eBooks instead of PDF's, and is recommending ADE to their business clients.
"mrt11011", I see now what you meant (missed it in your earlier post) and I have also hit the proverbial brick wall. I have not been able to find a way to suppress the activate screens, and having suppressed the EULA is not much of a consolation. I was able to automate it completely using Winbatch (a fantastic Windows admin scripting / tool), using keystrokes but was forced to use "mouse clicks" because the activate wizard doesn't support keyboard shortcuts. I digress... Unfortunately I cannot (yet) accomodate different screen resolutions because it's Flash and the operating system isn't clearly identifying the child and parent windows to Winbatch. If I crack it I will certainly post my solution here.
Hopefully Adobe's wizards will scroll through these posts and do something for businesses.

  • Error in the instructions for performing a silent install

There's an error in the instructions for performing a silent install of Photoshop Elements:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/silent-install-instructions-photoshop-element s-1.html
In step 9, the instructions say to use the following command line:
    start /wait "path to Setup.exe" /UL%LangCode% /V“SERIALNUMBER=%AOO volume license serial number%"
The correct command line, however, is this:
    start /wait "path to Setup.exe" /UL%LangCode% /V"SERIALNUMBER=%AOO volume license serial number%"
See the difference? Look closely at the character after the /V. In the instructions on the website, they put in a "curly quote" character. This obviously needs to be a straight quote.
Interestingly enough, the erroneous command line from the web site will actually work just fine as posted if all you are passing in the /V is the serial number. If, however, you wanted to add a "NODESKTOPICON=1" to disable the creation of a desktop shortcut, for example:
    start /wait "path to Setup.exe" /UL%LangCode% /V“SERIALNUMBER=%AOO volume license serial number% NODESKTOPICON=1"
then it fails to run silently.
I post this in the hopes that Adobe will fix the typo in their instructions and save other admins the hours of grief I've been put through today trying to get this working.

Check the response file where you define the SGA memory size for the new database.
You can also choose not to create the database at the installation and do it afterwards, making a specific response file for it. (I'd recommend specially this option. like that you can separate possible installation errors with the ones on the DB creation process).
    Good luck.

    Enric Moya
