Silent Install of Adobe Lightroom 2

Hello all,
Just wondering if anyone knew the method to silently install lightroom 2 and have the serial # inputed automatically. I know how to do it with cs3 but dont know the method for lightroom. any help is always appreciated

In the corporate environment, the term "silent install" is used to describe a way to install an application without any user interaction and perhaps invisibly, where the options are all specified in command-line parameters and/or via a file that setup is told to look in. This is typically so a network administrator can control the install options and is more normal for applications that use a central server or have standard locations for things.
In a corporate network, it seems that Lightroom would not typically be a standard-install item for every desktop like an e-mail or word-processing application might be, nor is it a client-server application that needs a central server to talk to, so the necessity of a silent install option isn't obvious; although it could be used to control the library location so that it was in a user's home directory to make sure it got backed up.

  • How do I create a silent install for Adobe Robohelp 11.0? AAMEE fails

I have tried to create a silent install for Adobe Roboehelp 11 using AAMEE v. 3.1 but after inserting "product installation folder", "package name" and "save to" and choosing "next" the picture just greys out.
If if choose "next" again I get to the options page but it is empty.
I tried using an older version of AAMEE and here I can create an unserialized build but it wont accept the my license code (which works fine if I install manually)
Does anyone know how to solve this?
I am using Windows 7 Enterprise Edition 64 bit.
    Best Regards,
    Christian Roejbaek

    Hi Christian,
You have to use Creative cloud packager (CCP) to create the package for RoboHelp 11, AAMEE will not work for the latest version. CCP will be available in your LWS website(www.licensing.adobe.com) . Download CCP from LWS website and create a package for RH 11.
Please refer to the below link for more information of CCP:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/packager/creating-packages.html
Once you will reach "The Application and Updates screen " on CCP window then you have to click on "Add Offline Media" and select the "product installer folder" as RH 11 might not show in the list of products on that screen.
    After creating the package:
Steps to follow to deploy silently on single machine:
    1. Open CMD in Administrator mode.
    2. Give the path till inside the build folder of the package. For Example if the build is saved on your Desktop the path in CMD should be as below:
    C:\Users\[username]\Desktop\Packagefolder\packagename\Build>
    3. Now type the following installation command: msiexec.exe /i packagename.msi /quiet
    4. Launch Task Manager.
5.There will be three process of “msiexec.exe”
    a)   6.One will be under System
    b)   7.Other Two will be under [username].
8.Installation will be completed once both the process of msiexec.exe under the [username] are finished.
9.The installation process with take 5 to 10 minutes

silent install for adobe reader version 110003

    Hi,
I don't know your more details about how you pretend to deploy your Adobe Reader but I did this to my current deployment and many people on the company are happy with this:
1- I extracted the contents from the Adobe Reader installer.
2- I modified the MSI using Customization Wizard to hide some menus (Maybe you can skip this step if you don't need to customize it)
3- On SCCM 2012 I created a Script deployment with a CMD file which contains the following command for silent install. (You don't need to have an SCCM infrastructure to deploy it but it will help)
    start /wait msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
    or
    msiexec /i "%~dp0AcroRead.msi" /q TRANSFORMS="%~dp0AcroRead.mst" PATCH="%~dp0AdbeRdrUpd11001_MUI.msp;%~dp0AdbeRdrSecUpd11002.msp"
    - On my case I used %~dp0 because I'm installing from a server caching files on client machines but if you pretend to test and install it locally avoid using: %~dp0 and put your absolut path. Like C:\Temp or your MSI and source files location.
    - Start /wait - Will execute your MSI installer file and then once is finished will proceed with the next command if any.
    - Transforms- will force the MSI to apply the custom settings I did on Customization Wizard)
    - PATCH- command will proceed to install the patches you may have at the moment 11.0.1, 11.0.2, etc...
Hope this will help you !

There might have once been a deployment solution for this, but I imagine Adobe will have withdrawn it. Why on earth are you deploying a product so far past end of life, with unfixed security issues?

  • Silent Install for Adobe Presenter 10

I am getting an error (A valid installer cold not be found) when trying to create a package using AAMEE. I have used this in the past to package Presenter. I have targeted the path to setup.exe and set-up.exe.

Here is a more detailed explanation from RajeevAdobe
Instructions for creating Presenter 10 package for 32-bit OS and 32-bit PowerPoint or for 64-bit OS and 64-bit PowerPoint:
Please launch CCP and Click “Creative Cloud for Enterprise”.
Sign in using your Adobe ID and click Next.
    Now, click on “Create Package”.
    Select “Serial Number License”.
For 32-bit OS and 32-bit MS Office, select “32-bit package”. For 64-bit OS and 64-bit MS Office, select “64-bit package”.
Click Next and enter the serial number for Adobe Presenter 10.
Now, select Adobe Presenter 10 from the list and create Build.
Adobe Presenter 10 package is created and you would see “Builds” and “Exception” folder.
Deploy the contents of build and exception folder just like you do for other CC products.
Instructions for creating Presenter 10 package for 64-bit OS and 32-bit PowerPoint:
Please download Adobe Presenter 10 from Adobe.com or from your Adobe Licensing Website (LWS) account and extract the .7z file to a folder by double-clicking the .exe file.
Once done, please launch CCP and Click “Creative Cloud for Enterprise”.
Sign in using your Adobe ID and click Next.
    Now, click on “Create Package”.
    Select “Serial Number License”.
For 64-bit OS and 32-bit MS Office, select “64-bit package”.
Click Next and enter the serial number for Adobe Presenter 10.
Now, click on “Offline Media” option at the bottom of the window and navigate to the installer for Presenter 10 extracted in step 1. You may have to select the 32-bit folder inside the extracted setup folder and then build package.
Adobe Presenter 10 package is created and you would see “Builds” and “Exception” folder.
Deploy the contents of build and exception folder just like you do for other CC products.
    Deployment Instructions:
On your  machine you have to open Command Prompt, Right click on it and select Run as administrator. In Command Prompt you have to go to the exact path where Presenter package folder is placed and go inside build folder.
Once you are in build folder location in Command Prompt then type the command :-    msiexec.exe /i name of the package.msi /quiet and press enter.
After then please open Task manager , In process tab you will see msiexec processes are running and It will install/deploy the Presenter 10 Package silently on your machine.
I would suggest you to please remove Adobe Presenter and its older components completely . Delete the left over files and folders manually for Presenter.
Disable the Firewall and Start up items.
Reboot the machine and follow the steps mentioned above to create a package and deploy it .
If you still face any issue then please send me a installation logs as private message .

    Rajeev.

  • Silent install in the enterprise

    Hi.
Please can you let me know if there has been any update on how to perform a silent install for Adobe Digital Editions. I specifically want to automate the activation process for multiple users by selecting the do not authorise option automatically so the install completes without any user interaction.
    Thanks

Thanks "Frustrated AZ", that 'contradiction' does make sense although it does slightly leave us business users out in the cold. My challenge is that the UK's largest legal services provider has chosen eBooks instead of PDF's, and is recommending ADE to their business clients.
"mrt11011", I see now what you meant (missed it in your earlier post) and I have also hit the proverbial brick wall. I have not been able to find a way to suppress the activate screens, and having suppressed the EULA is not much of a consolation. I was able to automate it completely using Winbatch (a fantastic Windows admin scripting / tool), using keystrokes but was forced to use "mouse clicks" because the activate wizard doesn't support keyboard shortcuts. I digress... Unfortunately I cannot (yet) accomodate different screen resolutions because it's Flash and the operating system isn't clearly identifying the child and parent windows to Winbatch. If I crack it I will certainly post my solution here.
Hopefully Adobe's wizards will scroll through these posts and do something for businesses.

I am trying to install a registered copy of Photoshop Lightroom that I never installed on my Apple iMac with software version 10.10.
I get the message “Adobe Lightroom 1.  Cannot be installed on this disk because a newer version of this software already exists on this disk”
If it is here – I cannot find it anywhere, and I don’t believe that I ever installed it.
I have ordered the upgrade to Lightroom 5.0 and figured that I should install Lightroom 1.0 first.
How can I solve this problem

Actually when LR 5 starts for the first time after it is installed it will have a dialog to Buy, Try or Enter a serial number. You select Enter a serial number and enter the LR 5 serial number first and then because it is an upgrade serial number it will ask for the serial number of a Previous version. You then enter the LR 1 serial number.
