Silent installation not so silent
I am trying to perform a silent installation of discoverer desktop 10g. I can create a response file with the "-record" option, and i have also selected just discoverer desktop. Everything works fine.. except that at the end of the installation, the dosbox that is opened tells me: "Press enter to exit". I do not want this. I want a fully automated silent installation. I already tried to change all the options to false inside the response file but i doesn't help.
Has anybody ever experienced this and found a solution?
isn't there anyone who experienced this before? I know this is not a discoverer topic, but there is no other installation topic available. And since all the installers in oracle are the same...
This has to be possible. I cannot imagine that oracle hasn't thought about this.

Hi - Recently I put the latest update on my LT15i (4.1.B.0.587), after this I rooted the phone, and everything seemed okay. But since then I keep getting an error message with an offer to download the 4.1.B.0.587 update and the note: "installation not possible" (because it's already there). The news line on top shows a red exclamation mark all the time. It seems to me that it is due to this error that I cannot partition my SD card. Does anybody have an idea how to fix that? MSI installer not working MSI 5.0 Windows 7
Hello I am trying to get MSI installer to work and when I go to install anything that has the Windows Installer Package it opens Notepad in a scrambled message. I have tried numerous avenues to no avail (regedit,copy paste regedit, troubleshooters, sfc/scannow,

I have recently acquired a new HP machine, stock from the good people at staples. I have tried to install reader on this machine many times and failed miserably. I download the installer, run it. The progress bar fills to completion, and then.. nothing. Reader just isn't on my computer afterwards and I still can't open PDFs.
I have tried running Adobe Air, tried making sure all the various pluggins are running on firefox, tried downloading through internet explorer. I have run the installer probably a good dozen times by now, from different downloads, at different times. Nothing seems to actually put Reader on my computer.
Any ideas?That is indeed the installer I have been trying to run. (When I downloaded it again from your link it replaced the one I currently had.) As you can see the process runs to 100% and then simply disapears. I have noticed that it seems to be trying to run an update, and without any software to update that might have something to do with the issue. That said, I thought all these times I was actually downloading an installer not a mere update, but this is all I've been able to accomplish thusfar. After completion, I try opening a pdf file. No avail.
I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. -

Hi, for one my LabVIEW application, I have created two installers
Including all the required additional installers (Installer)
With no additional installer (patch installer)
So that, for further versions they can use only patch installer.
When I try to installer both the installer of same version which created two icons in “Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features” as shown below.
When I am installing the second installer (patch), I expected that it will either overwrite the existing or it will not allow me to install. But both didn’t happen.
Please share your thoughts on the above.

acYou may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. In addition to the files listed in the support article, you may also have to remove the following in the same way:

~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.Installer.completer.ltvbit.plist
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.Installer.completer.update.plist
~/Library/Application Support/IM.Installer/Completer.app
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
If you find Apple's instructions too hard to follow, ask for an alternative that doesn't require you to trust a black-box application without knowing what it does.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)

Both commands

do not work. They say, they can't connect to the server.
(I did start the deamon!)
You can test the MySQL daemon with mysql-test-run.pl
cd /usr/mysql-test ; perl mysql-test-run.pl
Both the directory and the file does not exist.
For reference, here are the full installation notes:
To start mysqld at boot time you have to copy
support-files/mysql.server to the right place for your system
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FOR THE MySQL root USER !
To do so, start the server, then issue the following commands:
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root password 'new-password'
/usr/bin/mysqladmin -u root -h kobold password 'new-password'
Alternatively you can run:
/usr/bin/mysql_secure_installation
which will also give you the option of removing the test
databases and anonymous user created by default. This is

It might have saved someone who is not a member of MAMP's target audience several hours of work. In this case it only would have resulted in another 30-odd posts spread out over several days. Having multiple broken copies of mysql installed in multiple locations would frustrate even the most experienced admin. -

Here's an update on my problem:
Called Apple Support the other day. They basically told me that they can't help, because this is a problem of misconfiguration and that those kinda things weren't covered. Still the person on the line gave me a hint, I should look for leftovers of previously installed software in /Library/LaunchDaemons/ and /Library/LaunchAgents/ .
Well, that did the trick. In one of the folders I found "net.shrew.iked.plist". This file obvioulsy belongs to the ShrewSoft VPN client. I removed it and the built-in client works again.
I reinstalled ShrewSoft one more time to see if it works without the mentioned plist-file...needless to say it wouldn't connect anymore, but that's alright with me - for now. -

iAS_101330_Apache2_Modplsql2_win32 universal installer not started with Oracle 11g database installed in the same server. I tried to use the Oracle 11g universal installer to open the products.xml file under the iAS_101330_Apache2_Modplsql2_win32 directory. However, it still complained that all components must be 11g. Does anyone have experience installing Oracle 11g and Oracle HTTP Server in the same box? I don't want to use the embedded PL/SQL gateway.

AndyI had faced the same problem exactly and looks like this is the expected behaviour with higher version of installer.
Please download 3540563 patch (which is a software of oracle universal installer) and install it in a seperate home and using that installer you should be able to install the apache.
