Silient Uninstall Cisco Ironport Outlook Plugin

Basically need to uninstall 7-2-7.3 versions of the outlook plugin silently on hundreds of machines.
Basically the opposite of:
Cisco Ironport Email Security Plug-in.exe /exenoui /qu UseCustomConfig=\\server\shared\config\
I have tried different variations with no luck.

I found my answer. Pretty simple, could have been easier.
msiexec /x {GUID} /q
the GUID or Product ID, I was able to find using SCCM. Each version of the plugin is a different GUID. I used a script to se the right uninstalled line fore which version is installed.

  • Ironport Outlook Plugin Reply Encrypted Email

I would like to clarify whether Ironport Outlook plugins can (with flag mode) reply a "reply-message" originated from external CRES user.
    Here is a situation:-
    1. Corp User A compose an encrypted email to external user B
    2. External user B receive this encrypted message and external user B open the HTML file with his/her CRES credentail
    3. External user B reply same message via CRES cloud service
    4. Corp User A receive the "reply-message" originated from external user B in outlook program
Please advise whether Corp User A can reply this "reply-message" or not with flap mode.

Ok thank you.  Wasn't sure because prior to the plugin we just used words or tags in the subject, which obviously did not require a password to send an encrypted e-mail.  Therefore we were confused because we thought a password was required only to read an encrypted e-mail, not send one.

  • IronPort Outlook Plugin 7.2 Deployment

I have followed the SCCM deployment steps as well as tried other methods. I can not get the plugin to deploy without returning  a ResultCode=-3 unless it is delployed to run as user, and they must have admin rights. Even usign run with administrative rights, only whn user is logged in it fails. Below is the command I'm currently trying through SCCM with no luck as well.
    CiscoEmailSecurity_7-2-0-039.exe /s /v /qn  /f1"%cd%\custom.iss" /f2"C:\CESSetup.log"

    Hello Steve,
There have been some issues with SCCM deployment and certain versions of Windows. As such, it may be best to open a Service Request. This  should allow the Cisco IronPort Customer Support team to gain specifics  about your installation and envorionment. This can be done by clicking  on the  'Open Service Request for thread' link, listed under the Actions  menu on this page.

  • IronPort Outlook Plugin 7.2 SCCM Silent Install

I followed the instructions from the adminiguide to create an .iss file and create an application package/advertisement in SCCM. I used the command line from the guide and get the error ResultCode=-3. When I run the command line locally it is successful, however when deploying through SCCM it always returns ResultCode=-3. The following is the command line I used to install.
    CiscoEmailSecurity-7-2-0-039.exe /s /v /qn /f1"setup.iss" /f2"C:\ironport.log"

    Hi Terrell,
I just found a resolution to this last week. You can get an msi installation by using
    CiscoEmailSecurity-7-2-0-039.exe /a
then go through the setup to extract the files to a selected location. It should extract an .msi installer, and two folders called CommonAppData and program files. You will need all three of these in the same directory.
After getting the msi, you can just install using
    msiexec.exe /i "msiname.msi" /qn
for a silent install. I still had to use an msi editor (installshield) to create a transform to remove two custom actions that were causing errors during the msi installtion: CheckLanguageUpdaterResult and CheckUpdateFeaturesResult. The application still installed correctly before removing those errors, I just needed to remove them so SCCM would not report a failed installation.
I was suprised though that it wasn't noted in thier documentation that you could obtain an msi installation using the /a switch, it is just something that you would have to know is available in some installshield installations.

  • Configuring Cisco/IronPort plugin for Outlook with CRES

With the discontinuation of the IronPort IEA appliances we are getting ready to move from our on-premise IEA appliances to CRES.  I have a demo key for Encryption that I am running on my C660s and I have an Outlook client configured with the Email Security Plug-In version 7.2.0.39.  Currently the Outlook Plug in is configured to point to our on premise IEA appliances for the Server URL attribute in Desktop Encryption Options and is working great.
My question is, what do I use to connect it to CRES for desktop encryption?
The Admin guide "Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-in 7.2 Administrator Guide" page 4-46 just says "Server URL Enter the URL for your  Encryption server."
    Thanks

    Hi Jason,
Thanks for your question.  The short answer is https://res.cisco.com:443 HOWEVER please note the following two points.  First, you will need a CRES account, so that you can download a token to use with the plugin, to authenticate to CRES; you cannot use the default token which you have probably been using with your IEA.  Second, using the current Outlook plug-in version 7.2 with CRES is not supported; it works, but it is not supported.  There are plans to release a supported version.

  • Add-in "Ironport Outlook" (C:\..\postxoutlook.dll)

Working with a client who is receiving an error almost on a daily basis.
System is a Windows XP SP3 client with MS Office 2007, SP1.
We have many systems with the same config, but are only getting this error on this one system.
Cannot find any other issues that would be related.
    Below is the event error.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks
The add-in "Ironport Outlook" (C:\..\PostXOutlook.dll) cannot be loaded and has been disabled by Outlook. Please contact the Add-In manufacturer for an update. If no update is avaialble, please uninstall the Add-In.

  • Outlook plugin issues

We are having major issues with the outlook plugin... OutlookDesktopFlag_6.5.0_003.msi
All issues are reported by Office 2003 users.
We use a CRM program called Touche, which is re-branded SolvIt from Prosper Business Solutions (sold as Touche by Harland Financial Systems). This program pulls data from outlook into it's screen and I think that's where the issue is.
On many of these PC's when they sign into Touche, they get a Runtime error 216 at 65404AEC. They click OK and then a Microsoft Outlook dialog box comes up saying that there was an issue loading the IronPort postx add-in and try detect & repair in the help menu.
    1. Detect & Repair in the help menu takes a long time and does not fix the issue.
    2. Re-running OutlookDesktopFlag_6.5.0_003.msi and selecting repair does not fix the issue.
    3. Going into Outlook options and disabling the plugin DOES fix the issue.
Note, opening outlook by itself does not always invoke the issue.
Anyone have experience with the Outlook Desktop flag?
I also uninstalled it from a machine and the "Send Secure" button still exists in his compose e-mail screen, although pushing it does not do anything.
    I appreciate the input. Thanks!

    Hello Sauerk,
I think you best open a support case with Ironport and the supplier of your CRM. This looks like the two Outlook add-ons are biting each others ass.
Since you have to deal with two independent sofware vendors that have written extra software for a MS product (Outlook) I think this can cause you a hard time getting a solution.
    Good Luck,
    Steven

  • Cisco IronPort Plug-In 7.3 breaks when multiple profiles are used?

In our testing of the Cisco IronPort Plug-In 7.3 we found that if seperate Outlook profiles are used that are configured to different e-mail accounts the plug-in gives an error.
    Here's the scenario.
Profile A configured with [email protected] up and running receives the BCS Configuratoin File and the plug-in recognizes it and enables the ENCRYPT button.   User1 can use Outlook along with ENCRYPT and all works well.
But, if that same workstation users opens a different Outlook mail profile is opened that is configured to a different e-mail account.  Profile B configured with [email protected] the following error is generated:  "An error occurred during C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-in\user1\config_2.xml configuartion file initialization.  Some settings have been set to the default values."   Outlook works fine, the decrypt button is greyed out, which is expected, [email protected] is not ENCRYPT enabled.
The problem is when the user opens up Profile A again, a different error occurs "
"An error occurred during C:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco IronPort Email Security Plug-in\user1\config_1.xml configuartion file initialization.  Some settings have been set to the default values." and the ENCRYPT button is still disabled, even though this user is authorized for ENCRYPTION.   At this point the user has to open the BCS Configuration File again, which does give the message 'This message contains a secure attachment with settings for [email protected]  Do you want to apply these settings?".   If they answer YES, the ENCRYPT button is re-enabled.
Is Cisco aware of this?   What is the resolution?
    Thanks.

Same workstation AD login that has full access to both e-mail accounts.
Email account A profile A is the same as the workstation login used.   Email account B profile B is a different e-mail address / AD object but user A has full access to the mailbox.
I would expect Encryption to work for Profile A and not for Profile B, e-mail address B was never sent the configuration file.  But when I go back to use Profile A, encryption is no longer enabled, requireing me to run the configuration again.

  • Outlook Plugin - Doesn't list files

I installed the Outlook plugin, and although I am able to
sign in OK, if I choose "Insert Link from Acrobat.com", it just
sits at Populating List... and never gets the files from
Acrobat.com. Sending a mail over the threshold I've set (5Mb)
doesn't seem to go through Acrobat.com. I'm using the latest
version Beta 1.0.34 & am not behind a proxy.

    Hello,
I'm sorry you're having trouble. My best suggestion would be
to try uninstalling the Outlook plugin and then reinstalling it. If
possible, you might also want to try it using a different internet
connection. If you continue to have the same trouble, please
    respond to let us know.
    Kind Regards,

    Hello!
We are now deploying outlook plugin, so the problem: it is unacceptable to instruct our users to install plugin manually, and we have to create an .msi for active directory.

    Hello,

    Hi,
We identified an issue in AsyncOS 6.7.6-068 for Management that under certain circumstances can cause loss of historical reporting data when reporting groups are configured. To ensure a high quality release, further testing on our side is required.
6.7.6-068 is no longer available for upgrade to your M-Series appliances.
If you already upgraded to 6.7.6-068 we strongly recommend to disable group based reporting to avoid being affected.
We expect to release a new improved build of 6.7.6 shortly and apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this might have caused.
If you are required to upgrade to 6.7.6 before a new build is available, please contact Cisco IronPort Customer Support.
I'll let you know once the new build is available...
    Best Regards,
    Jakob

  • Outlook 2007 Conduits / Barracuda Outlook Plugin - Trouble Report and Workaround

This is a trouble report and workaround.
My employer uses a Barracuda spam firewall.  They encourage users, who have Outlook 2007, to install the Outlook plugin.  The plugin makes a couple of icons on the Outlook toolbar that are useful for improving the spam filtering capability of Outlook.
Unfortunately, shortly after I installed the Barracuda plugin, Hotsync with my Palm Centro stopped working right.
There is a conflict between Palm's Outlook 2007 Conduits and the Barracuda plugin for Outlook.  This prevents the Calendar from synching my Centro.  (The other Outlook components I have synched, Memos and Contacts, might still synch).
As a workaround, I disabled the Barracuda plugin, and Hotsync worked correctly.
It is possible to leave the Barracuda plugin enabled most of the time, but disable the plugin right before you Hotsync, then re-enable.  It's not too onerous, because most users only synch their Palms once or twice a day.
It's not idea, but this is the best workaround I have found for Palm users who have Outlook 2007 and would like to use the Barracuda plugin.

    - Switching Computers
    only 3 are experiencing problems
    Hi TieT,
Do you mean the Oulook will be crashed if all users log on to these 3 problematic clients to configurate their own Windows profiles and Outlook profiles? However, if uses log on to another client, it works?
Seems like this is an Outlook client issue, if possible, please reinstall OS for one client computer to test.

    Hai All,
We have cisco ironport WSA 370 version 7.5 .
We need to decrypt some https traffic . But the issue is our corporate AD support only 2048 bit cert. But our WSA box only support 1024.
Heared that asycos 7.7 (new release) support 2048 bit cert.  When i check the 7.7 guide, its not mentioned. Can you please suggest???

    Hi Mohamed,
There is a feature request so the WSA can generate 2048 bit certificate; but you can upload a an Intermediate root signing certificate to the appliance.
Look for "Uploading a Root Certificate and Key"
