Silly Question - Its really annoying
In the Safari banner bar, like very other user I guess, I have the Google Search bar to the right but every time I put something in there it looks at American sites and brings up US prices etc.
How do I get it to search UK sites ??
Can I change it ??
Unfortunately there is no setting that can be changed to change the default search engine on Safari. what you can do is use a different web browser that allows the changing of the search engine there are many to choose from and all of them are available from cnet.com's download section i've included a link to it for you. http://download.cnet.com/mac/web-browsers/?tag=ltcol;nav

ohh there is a "way" but it involves using terminal to hack in and change the settings but the steps to do this are far too complicated for a regular person

After i upgraded to iOS 6 my ipod touch has been putting all my tv shows episodes in alphabetical order instead of episode number order. I have tried a few things to put it back to normal but they just wont go back into the right order. Its really annoying if i am starting to watch something and then want to go onto the next ep on my ipod and its really annoying having to go through around 20 eps to find the next one.. Its the same on my brothers ipad. Except they dont have the episode numbers on them at all. If anyone has a solution on how to fix this it would be great. I might end up going to apple and asking myself when i get my ipad to show them excatly. If its a bug in the iOS it really needs to be fixed.

Monkemackan, welcome to the forum.
The normal reason for games lagging is one of three components:
1) CPU
2) Memory
3) Video device
In your case, the memory should be fine. It is no doubt either the CPU or video device. My suspicion is that it is the video card. I suggest looking at the Windows Experience Index in the Control Panel / Performance information and tools. I suspect that the video card will have the lowest rating.
Have you tried running the game on lower settings; low-medium or lower? This may help the lagging.
Please let us know if this solves your problem or not.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
You may have installed the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
Malware is always changing to get around the defenses against it. These instructions are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Step 1
From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Uninstall any extensions you don't know you need, including any that have the word "Spigot," "Trovi," or "Conduit" in the description. If in doubt, uninstall all extensions. Do the equivalent for the Firefox and Chrome browsers, if you use either of those.
Reset the home page and default search engine in all the browsers, if it was changed.
Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.vsearch.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item named "com.vsearch.agent.plist" selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.daemon.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vsearch.helper.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
/Library/Application Support/VSearch
/System/Library/Frameworks/VSearch.framework
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ConduitNPAPIPlugin.plugin
Some of these items may be absent, in which case you'll get a message that the file can't be found. Skip that item and go on to the next one.
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow.
You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the Internet criminal behind VSearch has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight has compromised both Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return. -

Hi, i have just got a new ipod and i have put in my apple id and its asking for security questions and i have no idea what they are as i havent ever been ask for them in the 6 years ive had it untill today. I have $70 itunes and i really need it! PLEASE HELP!!!
You are being asked the answers to the security questions because you are trying to download on a new device. Apple recently updated their security measures and you should have been given an opportunity to select three questions, provide answers to the questions and then provide a rescue email address at which you could be reached in the event that your account was compromised.
If the link that was posted above doesn't work for you, you will have to contact iTunes/Apple in order to get this straightened out.

I'm trying to multi-track using an m-audio device, I can record my guitar fine. However, I want to create a new track so I can record an acoustic tambourine over the top. Instead it records the original guitar as well as the tambourine coming out with a really distorted sound. I've managed to record over the top of a guitar before and add diferent riffs and sounds but I've tried all of the settings but its still not working. Basically I want to record different tracks without it recording my previous guitar riffs as well. Help would really be appreciated.

i had a problem with my maill, i posted a reply in another post telling my problem, but not it really got worse so im posting it as a new subject..
my email starting behaving weird since i upgraded to my OS to 10.5.2, my iPhone to 1.1.3, and changed my mail server provider... my Mail didnt show some of Subject / Sender for some emails in the viewing list, but if click on the email on the list, i can see the subject and the name of the sender on the lower pane... worse: the smartbox cant find these invisible sender subject emails if its set to look only for sender.. like its not even there.. and the most worse thing is, i read somewhere that if i rebuild my mailbox it will fix the problem, before i did the rebuild "solution" i had like 20% of my emails missing the send/subject in the viewing list, now i have 100% of them missing!!! its all blank.. i feel like im lost.. cant know any email is this until i click on it!!!

I think you should get some help from Apple tech support, if possible. Obviously, Apple is having some difficulties with it's servers. If possible, until you get some assistance, I'd avoid making major changes, i.e., re-installing 10.4, for example. -
Every time FF updates, it forces me to download and install the spell check dictionary for English. It makes me just choose to use another browser since more often than not its opening facebook and I like spell check when I use fb. Is there any solution?
What Firefox locale do you use?
Is that the en-US version or another locale like the French locale?
You shouldn't lose installed dictionaries and other installed extensions when you update Firefox unless you would reset Firefox or a new profile got created for other reasons like problem with the profiles.ini file.
Are there otherwise problems with updating that you notice?
Note that in case you do not need all four French dictionaries then you can remove others and only keep the ones you need.
You can find the dictionary files in the dictionaries folder of the extension in the extensions folder in the Firefox profile folder or possibly in the Firefox program folder if you use a French Firefox locale (don't know if that locale includes a dictionary).

There is a very good reason why Apple does this.
Basically it is to prevent people from sharing purchased content with their friends. If you buy an app that costs lets say $19.99 and you let a friend sign into your ID on his device in order to download that purchase for free - that is what most people would call stealing. And your not just stealing from Apple - you are really stealing the bulk of the money from the app developer.
There is nothing that you can do now. You have to wait the 90 days. And it is highly unlikely that any feedback to Apple is going to matter. I don't see them changing this anytime soon. -
Okay so my friend just recently got the iphone 4 and I have the iphone 5. When she texts me its imessage, but when i text her it is a normal sms message.. I think ive tried everything at both ends... Any suggestions????? its driving me crazy
It is no wonder she is not receiving your messages if she has iMessage turned off in her iPad.
For her to receive iMessages on the iPad, she needs to turn iMessage ON in her iPad and then she needs to be connected to the internet in order to receive them. This connection can go through WiFi or through cellular data if her iPad has this functionality, but those two requirements are a must.

it happens every time i turn firefox on. FYI: i do have firefox private browsing on (if that makes a difference).
I think I solved it.
I searched my extensions folder (in my profile) for all image files (PNG and JPG), and found the pop-up images to be in an extension folder related to Firefox Sync (not an external extension, actually). But even though I had already disabled it and un-linked this computer from Firefox Sync, the message still popped-up.
I think the image filename was SYNC.PNG, or something like that. Close Firefox, find the folder where that image is in, and rename the main folder (the one right under the extensions folder) to some other name (such as "original name_copy"). Then start Firefox. Check if it works OK and if the pop-up ceases to appear. If everything OK, then you can delete that folder.
If something goes wrong, just rename the folder to what it was before. -
