Silly question .... where do I drag and drop to ?

To the nice little green drive icon which appears on my desktop, or to the conventional white drive mounted on the desktop, or the 'shared' wireless drive which appears in Finder ?
thanks

I'm assuming by the "white drive" you mean the image that is mounted when you are backing up or actually mount the sparse bundle file onto your desktop. Don't copy to this one. I'm not sure if you can or not (relatively new Mac user), but I wouldn't just in case. Copy to the "green drive" icon (should have the three people icon on it) or to the shared wireless drive in the Finder.
Just a question (something I've been trying to figure out since I got my Time Capsule). Does your TC mount its hard drive on your desktop at login or do you have to navigate to it in the Finder before it places the icon on your desktop?

Where do you drag and drop playlists onto iphone in new itunes

I don't blame this person whatsoever for making the assumption that the iPod portion of his phone would work similarily, if not the same, as the iPod.
But it does work the same as the iPod. As with an iPod, you can sync all songs and playlists, or selected playlists, or you can manually manage music and videos. You can also select sync only checked songs and videos under the Summary tab and uncheck the songs in your iTunes library that you don't want transferred to your iPhone. This can be used with syncing selected playlists - if you want to remove a song from your iPhone that is in a selected playlist without removing the song from the playlist in iTunes, you uncheck the song in the playlist in iTunes followed by a sync. There is no difference with an iPod in this regard except for the iPhone not supporting disk mode.
In order to manually manage music and videos with an iPod, you must select this under the Summary tab for the iPod sync preferences, and the same for the iPhone.
And if you resent his rant, why respond and waste your volunteer time on this post?
I can waste my time anyway I see fit. If you don't like it, don't respond.
And not everyone can afford to replace this type of investment on a whim.
    Copied from the OP's post.
Don't tell me it's clicking on the boxes next to the songs in the Library page, *because that's when I will start asking for my money back...*
Or the iPhone can be sold to someone else with the proceeds used to purchase a different phone. I haven't read any reports about someone having trouble selling their iPhone used at a good price even if damaged.

  • Is there any view where I can drag-and-drop an image to another app?

I'm new to LR3.4.   I'm building books using Luminix PhotoFusion and used to be able to drag-and-drop images directly from PSE5 into Luminix.   With PSE8, that capability was lost and I had to bring up the file properties, go to the containing folder, and drag-and-drop from there.   This greatly slows down the process.   I don't want to export the images because then I have multiple copies to maintain.
Does anyone have suggestions for a workflow for this?   I haven't looked into publishing yet but that also seems to replicate like to Flickr.
    Thanks

I've tried drag-and-drop from the grid, filmstrip, etc.   I get the universal circle with a slash.... no go.  I've tried dragging to WORD, PowerPoint, IrfanView, PhotoFusion, and all have the same result.
    I'm running Win7 64-bit.

The replacement BB Tour does not show up in "My Computer." I've tried using the desktop manager, I've tried using different drivers. No luck. I should mention that my computer recognizes that the BB is connected via USB as it can charge, and I can see it(sort of) on the device manager. All I see is a generic G: drive labeled Blackberry. I cannot open up that drive and transfer files however.

You can if you want, according to your needs. The 1GB of on-board memory should be accessible to you. I don't understand why it's not. Are you double-clicking on that Drive named BlackBerry, and then it shows you the device properties? Or how are you getting it to show the properties?

  • HT203128 I can't drag and drop music from iTunes 12 to iOS 8 iPhone 5s. How do I move music now?

I connect the iPhone to itunes. that works. Everything shows up fine, but I can't drag and drop music from the 'music' section of iTunes 12 on my new mbp or my iMac. I used to be able to. Also, when I slide to delete songs on the iPhone, they still appear as 'ghosts' in the list on iTunes when the phone is connected - if I double click them, a exclamation mark in a circle comes up on the left of the track and it doesn't play. Can anyone help? Kind of need to get this sorted - it's bloody frustrating. I've restarted iPhone, iMac, MBP, downloaded the latest versions of iOS, OS X 10.10.3.

you iphone does not work like a regular ipod, where you can drag and drop music, you must sync it with itunes. plug it into your computer, click on the icon that is labeled iphone. when you do this there is a section on the top that says music. click on that, then you can select playlists and artists, etc. then click apply. it should work then

  • Drag and Drop Error

When I try to drag and drop folders in SharePoint 2013, I get a message 'We can't upload folders or empty files' but I can drag and drop the individual files.

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to drag the folders to SharePoint 2013.
It is by design, we could not drag the folders to the site directly.
As workarounds, you can use the following alternate solutions.
1 Use the conventional Windows Explorer View - To Open Windows Explorer click on Upload
Next in the Add Documents popup click on “Upload Files using windows Explorer Instead” to Open the Windows explorer view where you can
    Drag and Drop folders.
    2. Map the Document Library as Network Drive – You can Map any document library as a network drive and then
drag and drop folders to it
When you Map a document Library as a Network drive, you might see an error because of the missing “Desktop Experience” feature in Windows Server 2012
    3. Using SYNC Option - In SharePoint 2013, you can make any Document Library SYNC to your Local
Folder (Including the SkyDrive PRO Library) to work with documents Offline.
Once the Library is synced users can Open, Edit and Add Files and Folders to the synced Library
Folder that gets created on your Local.
These additions can be synced back to the Library either every time when you connect to
SharePoint or On-Demand with “Sync now”.

  • Drag and Drop in a quiz

    Hi,
I have a quiz in Captivate 7 that is using Submit All. Every question now has a "Clear", "Back", "Next", Submit All" button. I have created a drag and drop question using the new drag and drop functionality and selcted to include the question in the quiz. The problem is that I don't get the back, next or submit all buttons. I can use the Reset button and rename it Clear but Captivate has only added a Submit button, not a submit all button and I can't see how to change that or add the others.
This quiz was originally built in version 6 and I used the drag and drop question widget from eLearning Bros but it doesn't work in version 7 and I'll need to publish this quiz in version 7.
    Thanks

    Hi there,
Presently, you cannot add a Drag and Drop question as part of ‘Submit All'. Please file a feature request for the same in http://www.adobe.com/go/wish
To add Back , Next buttons on a Drag and Drop question, Please add two button object on stage, Change the button text as 'Next', 'Back' and set actions as 'Go to Next Slide', 'Go to Previous Slide' accordingly.
Hope this resolves the Next and Back button issues.
    Thanks,

  • Drag and drop utility from windows to SAP..

    Hi SAP Gurus,
I need some piece of advices from you guys related to this. I am working a an IS Insurance solution of SAP. We have a real bottleneck in the project. The client is basically using a thrid party legacy system developed on .NET platform. They have the functionality where they just "drag and drop" the documents like excel sheet or word diocument or pdf file and store it with particular insurance policy number.
I am sure there might be some solution like that in SD , MM, PP module where they will be doing similar kind of stuff. Storing the documents related to purchase order or invoice.
Now I would like to know if there is any third party tool for dragging and dropping documents from windows desktop to SAP system like I explained above.
I would like to get some information on this ?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Rajesh.

If on SAP , then what ?
If on Application server , then what ?

  • Drag and drop in a vertical box

    Hi
I was wondering if there's any sample out there that i can check where the user drags and drops the compoents in a verticle box layout and during the DnD operation the dragged component pushes all the other compones up or down depending on the direction in a smooth animated manner, including when the component is being resized.
I do know the Flex ObjectHandles by Marc Hughes component that's what im using right now but then again it does not cover this other requirement that i need.
    Thanks.

for those interested (if there is), i've given up on leadselectionpath, and i draw my outline manually, by overloading paintComponent and using the getPathBounds method.
still, i don't know what leadselectionpath means... well, i guess i don't need to know, but if anyone want to share his knowledge...

  • IPhoto file creation date inconsistencies during drag and drop

I have noticed that if I drag and drop a photo from iPhoto to Finder, the file creation dates in Finder are inconsistent.
(This question is related to drag and drop only and not File->Export, which always uses the export date and timestamp for the file creation date and thus does not suit my needs).
TEST A -- If the EXIF DateTimeOriginated is 01/01/2013, and today's date is 03/03/2013, then:
In some cases when I drag a file to Finder, the EXIF date is used as the file modification/creation date in Finder
In some cases, today's date is used as the file modification/creation date in Finder
In some cases, a date in between the EXIF date and today's date is used
It appears that for case A1, these are files that do not have a modified copy.  That is, if you select the photo in iPhoto and then click "File" -> "Reveal In Finder", the "Modified File" choice will be greyed out.
For cases A2 & A3, iPhoto has inexplicably decided to create modified versions of these files either today or sometime in the past.
TEST B -- I have read that unexplained modifications are tied to the auto-rotate function in cameras, and it does seem to be the case when I performed the test below:
Select a large group of landscape format photos (these would not have been auto-rotated), then drag and drop to Finder.  The file creation dates are set to the EXIF date
Add some portrait photos to the group in (1).  Now the file creation date of ALL photos including the non auto-rotated photos are set to the current date
The behaviour in B2 is clearly wrong, since the landscape photos should be the same as in B1.  This is bug #1.
Furthermore, iPhoto appears to be inconsistent with when these modifications are made.  For example, I dragged & dropped an auto-rotated photo on 02/02/2013, then dragged & dropped it again today, then the file creation date in Finder (and also the date of the modified file in iPhoto, as shown in iPhoto File->Reveal In Finder->Modified File) can either the EXIF date (01/01/2013), the late of the last drag & drop (02/02/2013), or today's date (03/03/2013); there does not appear to be any rhyme or reason to this.  This is bug #2.
In any case, saying "you should never use drag & drop in iPhoto" (as I have read in some other forum posts) isn't a solution, because Apple should either (a) support this function correctly or (b) remove it altogether.  Furthermore, I regularly burn photos to disk for others so having the file date and timestamps correctly set to the EXIF date helps keeping the photos sorted in the directory listings for multiple OS, so File->Export isn't a solution.

File data is file data. Exif is photo data. A file is not a photo.  It's a container for a photo.
When you export you're not exporting a file. You're exporting a Photo. The medium of export is a new file. That file is created at the time of export, so that's its creation date. The Photo within that file is dated by the Exif.
There are apps that will modify the file date to match the Exif.
The variation you're seeing is likely due to the changes in how the iPhoto library works over the past few versions. Drag and drop is handy, but is not a substitute for exporting, nor intended to be.

I am tring to write a program where i can drag and drop icons from the left side of the split pane to the right side. I have to draw a network on the right side of the split pane from the icons provided on the left side. Putting the icons on the labels donot work as i would like to drag multiple icons from the left side and drop them on the right side. CAn anyone please help me with this.

The other option besides the drag_n_drop support
http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/dnd/intro.htmlis to make up something on your own. You could use a glasspane (see JRootPane api for overview) as mentioned in the tutorial.

  • Creating a file that has drag and drop feature

    Hi,
I'm working on a memory experiment and I want to create a file with a drag and drop feature.  I set an image as layer 1, and several images as layer 2. I would like to create a file where people can drag and drop on of the images from layer two onto a slot in layer one.  Ideally I would like it to remain stable if the place an image in the slot (meaning if they try to place one of the images from layer 2 into layer 1, I want it to allign perfectly).
    Help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Check if using the Smart Guides snapping is something that could be useful for this. If the size of the objects are exactly the same the snapping is relatively easily when trying to put one object on the place of another. If the sizes are not the same then the center point indicator should be used as a target which require a little bit more effort. However enabling the Smart Guides is not a file feature, the user has to turn it on/off in Illustrator affecting all open documents.
