Silverlight Bug - it's installed & activated in browsers, but is not recognized

I have an account with MAXDOME (Online Movies on Demand) and Maxdome requires Silverlight, which I acutally already HAD on my PC, but when I wanted to watch a move, a pop up appeared which kept on telling me "Install Silverlight before you can watch the
movie". Their support recommended FixIt Tool for Silverlight, which I used and it uninstalled & reinstalled Silverlight, and it is also activated both in Google Chrome & IE Browswers. I re-started the PC, but it keeps on saying "install Silverlight
before you can watch the movie..." they also told me to check dotnetfx.exe, which I did (reinstalled new version)... It doesn't work with FireFox either, even also there Silverlight Plugin is activated...

Hi, You might want to review the Troubleshooting Guide as it has been updated and a lot of new information is now included. If you prefer you can use the Manual Installer for IE which you'll see there. A lot of the questions that I would ask are listed also.

I installed aperture 3 trial but its not working !

if you select the MacOSXUpdCombo10.7.5.dmg file which you’d downloaded, and press ⌘i to Get Info on it, what information is shown for it under ▼ General: Size? My initial guess is that you could have an incomplete download of that file.

Installed Leopard on drive, but did not wipe it clean

I installed Leopard on a partitioned drive and didn't erase everything on it. I thought I did, but apparently not. Whenever I restarted with the install disk in the machine, it started up in Leopard, all nice and new. Then when I restated with the disk out (held down the mouse button on restart), it starts up the way it it was in 10.4.x with the same partitions and on the partition that has Leopard on it, I can see under Users the new install as a username w/the usual directories of Desktop, Documents, Downloads, etc.
Problem is, the original startup drive has been messed around with so much, I think I deleted System Preferences or I can't run the new System Preferences...dunno.
Is there some way to target a startup disk when you don't have system prefs? I know I have what should be a viable startup disk since there's an OS installed on the drive. Hope that makes sense.

Restart your computer, and press and hold down the option key before the Apple logo appears.
You should then see all available startup partitions.

309g printer will install wireless on Vista but will not install on XP

Trying to install Photosmart 309g printer wireless, will install on computer with Vista but will not install on computer with XP, it finds printer on network but fails part way thur install. Installes great on Vista computer. What can I do??

The steps for XP in this document from HP are a great start to resolving issues of this nature. While the behavior is not exactly identical, the steps have the best chance of resolving the issue.

Thanks everybody… I killed the process again in Task manager after trying compatibility modes… noticed something glaring at me as I killed the process. 32 bit. Old workstation on Win7 that was working was 32 bit and the Win8.1 is (drumroll please) 64 bit. MY guess is that if Adobe killed the ability for this to run it would have failed upon an attempt to activate, not upon launch. I think Nancy might have hit it on the head. Let me stew on this for a bit if I really want to pay more for features I already paid for once.

Fresh Install HCM 9.1 but Links not working. Help please

Dear All,
I'm trying to make a switch from SAP to PeopleSoft. I tought it easier to install PSFT since the number of source to install is much less than SAP. However, I kept getting same error where the links not working no matter which environment I tried to install.
I downloaded all software from eDelivery.
HCM 9.1, PTOOLS 8.52, Oracle 11g 64 bit, Oracle Client 32 bit.
First Try:
Install on windows 7 64bit. Everything works fine until first login to the PSFT and all links not working.
Suggestion from Hakan is to apply the patch and gave me a link to the old FTP site. I downloaded the 85209 patch but got password.
Finally I managed to get a customer ID from a friend and downloaded Patch 85211 and applied. But got java error so I scrapped it.
Anyway, Gasparotto said the environment is not certified and will not fix my problem with the patch.
Second Try:
Installed Virtual Box.
Installed Windows 2008 R2 and applied the SP1.
Installed everything all over again.
Ensured the PTWEBSERVER password similar the username.
Everything works fine but when login to PSFT, again..... links not working and see on the bottom left corner there are some javascript error where they cannot find certain peoplesoft objects..
Just upgraded to IE 9 because I read somewhere IE 8 is not certified.
Tried to login again, no error message and everything looks fine but... links not working.
Logs also looks normal to me.
Does anyone ever encountered similar issues before?
Does this is a normal behaviour before tools patch 85211 being applied ?

Does this is a normal behaviour before tools patch 85211 being applied ?Without patch, you have the error you mentioned. How many time I told that 8.52.03 min. is required, I did not go further, but there was some bugs before which make it not working.
I understand that's rather frustrating for people who wants to jump to Peoplesoft. I don't know SAP, but here you go, Peoplesoft is not a simple toy.
Unfortunately, if you have no access to My Oracle Support to get the Peoplesoft patches, you have no way but work on Peoplesoft OVM (free of use), and to use them on VirtualBox, the Jim's articles are worth to follow.

My last install guide is quite old now (PT8.50/Linux), even though it did not change very much within the last tools 8.52. But seeing the number of time such questions have asked over here (PT8.52 on Windows), I'm thinking to write one more, that time on Windows.

Active Directory plugin: Preferred credentials not recognized

I have installed the Active Directory Plugin 2.0.2.1.0 in my Grid Control (10) and I am getting the following error:

Deployment Requirements: Requires network access and credentials of the host where Microsoft 'Active Directory' is installed and running
I set the preferred credentials for the agent. They are a user/password for someone that has "installation" and "admistration" privileges on the Active Directory server.
Is there a specific format the userid and password should be entered? (i.e. cn=xxxx)

If entering username only is having an error, enter the username as DOMAIN_NAME\username. Where domain_name is the domain of the AD host

Illustrator CC shows up as being installed in the AAM but is not

The Adobe Application Manager - or Creative Cloud panel - Shows Illustrator as being installed (green arrow checked "up to date" ) - but I cannot find it anywhere on my system - no Shorcut - no registry entry - not in the default install location under program files of other Adobe apps - cannot find in search
I opened control panel "Programs and Features" to Install/Uninstall software - clicked on illustrator cc to uninstall the app - Opened a dialogue and very quickly "uninstalled" the not installed app
Still in Adobe CC panel
Does not show up in control panel > "Programs and Features" anymore
Where can I download the Executable or msi install file??

Are you trying to follow the Apple philosophy to make things more "user-friendly" by hiding fucntionality. That might be fine for beginners - but you are making experienced and more technical advanced users frustrated by your dumbed-down approach.
I have moved away from all apple - products and hardware because of this, since it takes control away from advanced users and also is an indication of a company trying to enforce their one-fits-all approach and owner-ship of customer behaviour.
I took me months to decide to upgrade from cs5.5 to cs6 because of the published adobe change in it's approach to deployment of it's software. The fact that you are charging the rest of the world (Australia, etc..) 33% more for the same product is also an ongoing issue
I am also in a process of surplanting Adobe tools with alternatives - After Effects <-> Nuke, Premiere <-> Vegas, Illustrator (you killed of freehand which where far more advanced than Illustrator) <-> Xara, Corel... , Photoshop <-> I do not have a great alternative for it but Canvas, Corelpaint, Gimp, Sketchbook are contenders, Dreamweaver <-> Haven't used it in years because of over focus on bloted adobe JS libraries and not enough support for coding and bad WYSIWYG - using PHPStorm and tools in Chrome, Director <-> Well that ship sailed when ADOBE attacked Macromedia and through aggressive lawsuits over patents that caused the death of Director by funds being cut in it's development and marekting, Flash <-> The adobe brand with it's bad behavior and over-reach (via postscript) in the early 90's started a war with Apple that resulted in the death of this very promising platform - now we are back in the stome-age with HTML5 and a miriad of JS-libraries, no decent hardware accelerated gfx, etc...

Jeff, my rant is not directed at you as an employee of ADOBE - your prompt feedback is appreciated and will aleviate some of the antagonism I feel against ADOBE because of the business unit's decisions with litlle regard of the user's buying and using the software.
Shareholder must understand that if they try and force the hand that feeds them too far, it will stop.
I love what the software engineers are doing with the software and appreciate the individuals whose job (ADOBE employees/help desk sub-contractors) it is to try and assist, but, ADOBE’s image is tarnished in my eyes by their new subscription policy they are forcing on end-users.
So many great technologies have been killed of or completely missed an oppertunity to evovle to greatness. (Director, Freehand, Flash, Flex, etc...)

I had the same problem with my iPhone 4. I use Avast as my virus scanner, and the incoming mail filter in Avast screws with iTunes/iPhone and stops the computer recognising the phone. Disabled the mail filter and the iPhone syncs fine. You should give that a go. Possible that it is the same issue with the iPod too.
