Silverlight not responding on my mac

I have been streaming netflix on my imac late 2006 for quite some time, plus I use websites that require the Silverlight plug-in like atitesting.com for some time. Well everything was going fine for years. Then, just this last month, I tried running the same silverlight plug-in websites and now I'm having the following major issues...
- On Safari 6.0 whenever I try to stream a netflix movie or open a Silverlight plug-in website, the site completely crashes without any error indication. On netflix I just get a black screen.
- On Firefox when I open any page that requires silverlight, I simply get the link and message to download Silverlight in order to view the site, even though it already is installed on my Mac.
So far, I have tried to completely uninstalling then reinstalling Silverlight, Downloaded an older version of Silverlight, checked for any possible worms or viruses, browsing possible mac settings I made that may have caused this problem, tried calling both netflix and microsoft who just referred me to their forums. I also wondered if it was due to either upgrading my iMac to OS Lion, or Safari to 6.0, but so far I've been just going around and around in circles with no sollution and alot of frustration. If anyone has a possible answer to what I need to do, it would be much appreciated.

Ok, even after searching endless forums, this one was new for me. Probably because this one is not gonna be very common. I do kinda feel like I wasted my time with this thread since i did end up figuring out the source on my own. But I'm posting this to hope that someone may find this useful...
Ok, so I was experimenting with firefox since Silvernet works on that browser for me, it was here that I found the source. I've been using a mac cleaner device that cleans up junk files to optimize performance, MacKeeper, been using it for years with leopard without a problem... However now with Lion OS, the cleanup program is deleting cache files that are crucial for the browsers to run the Silverlight plugin. After reinstalling FireFox and Safari (DO NOT UNINSTALL SAFARI JUST DOWNLOAD THE LINK FROM CNET!!) both browser's files were restored and now my netflix works flawlessly on both browsers.
So... Be very very careful with mac or pc clean up programs, you never know when an important file to you might suddenly get... deleted!!

I'm having similar problems. I looked at the Activity Monitor and saw that iTunes was using over 4GB of memory. When I try to quit iTunes it will show "Not Responding" but eventually the memory creeps back down then it quits. The process takes "foooorrreeeeeeevvvvverrrr" (a nod to The Sandlot). Not sure what the deal is but this wasn't an issue in the previous version. Please fix this Apple smart people.

Dreamweaver CS4 not responding well on Mac

I just upgraded to CS4 yesterday. It seems every other thing I do in Dreamweaver, it doesn't respond to my click, then turns to the colorful spinning disc for a minimum of 10 seconds. This is for nearly every click action... it is very annoying and inefficient. I deleted the configuration files but that didn't work. This same problem happened periodically in CS3 as well, but appears much worse now. Any ideas? I'm on a Mac Pro, OS 10.5.7 with 4 GB of RAM.

I work on a Macintosh iMac with a 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo running on 2GB 667 MHz memory. I am running no extensions on Dreamweaver.!
I usually pull down any files from my clients' servers then work on the files locally. Once I am happy that the files have been altered appropriately I then send them back up to the server.
Up till now the files have worked relatively well although they can take a little while to load. I notice that if I view the files in code only there is no problem but since I am fundamentally a designer I like to see what it is I am doing and tend to avoid working with the files in code.
I have done exactly what you have suggested although I have done that before thinking it would 'clear out' the system. Sadly, despite my meticulous attention to removing all the files associated with Dreamweaver the problem still persists.
There are some points to note in all this. While trying to pin down the problem I have noticed that it is the larger file sizes that jam Dreamweaver BUT it is a relative problem. Big files on one of the clients sites are small files on other client sites - one minute it will not open a 50k file for one client the next it will be a 372k file on another site that stalls!
It is interesting just how many people there are out there having the same issues that I appear to be having.

You can try the following:
Install or Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Erase the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
      left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on
        the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
      the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
            because it is three times faster than wireless.

Dreamweaver cs6 not responding on a mac

I tried opening dreamweaver cs6 and it never got passed the welcome window. I updated with the latest updates, no change. I reinstalled DW and the same story. My OS is 10.7.5 mountain lion on a quadcore mac pro. Has anyone else have this issue?

When you reinstalled, did you run the cleaner tool?

If not, I would reinstall again and use the cleaner. DW can leave behind files on an uninstall that can affect a new installation. The cleaner gets rid of everything.

Server app not responding after upgrading Mac Mini Server

Hi all,
I (like many of you) upgraded my Mac Mini Server yesturday. The install went well, except that when I start the Server.app, I end up with the default Server.app window and an eternal beach ball cursor... it checked into the apps and system logs and nothing coming out of Sever.app. However, there is a possible trace on slad... Anyone with similar problem or suggestions ?

Apparently the latest version of Firefox does not respond to the Mac's trackpad ability to use fingers to enlarge and reduce the size of whatever it is I'm looking at. Why?

I'm using a MacBook Pro (OS 10.6.7) and appreciate the ability to enlarge and reduce web pages by using a two-finger "spread" on the trackpad. Since installing 4.0.1, it seems I can no longer do this.
The previous version of Firefox allowed this.
Why? It's lots more convenient that using "command plus the + key".
Does this mean I go back to Safari?

"Application Not Responding" - on all Mac apps

Mail, iPhoto, Stickies, Calculator....etc.
Sometimes the application will start, but once I try to use it, it fails and I have to force quit. Mail and iPhoto don't even open. The icon bounces on the dock as though it is opening and then it just stops. Other apps open and then crash.
Help? I need my mail!

Problem with premiere and encore export, Adobe QT32 Server (Not Responding)

In the Activity Monitor shows me these two errors:

Have you checked out this post from Adobe? I know it says for After Effects but it definitely applies to Premiere too. We have some AJA cards whose components in /library/QuickTime were causing similar Adobe QT32 server hangups; removing them solved our issue but also broke compatibility with older apps like FCP 7.

I to use iphoto library manager to save corrupted iphoto and each time it saves some and the first time it brings up iphoto, iphone goes into "not responding" mode. Using mac book pro, iphoto 9.5.1, and maverick 10.9.2.

I've had issues with my iPhoto "not responding" and as a result I am attempting to save my photos to an external hard drive using iPhoto library Manager but each time I start the program it saves some, and then when it starts iPhoto, iPhoto then goes into not responding mode. Using mac book pro, iphoto 9.5.1, and maverick 10.9.2. I have completed all of the photo library first aid steps several times, but it makes no difference, iphoto eventually goes to "not responding." Initial issues started with Time Machine back ups stopping because of iphoto. Thanks......

Do you have a back up?
If you're just trying to recover the photos you can do that much more simply:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Originals' or 'Masters'. (varies according to the version of iPhoto)
Your photos are inside - these are the originals as imported from your camera.

I get to the login screen and my laptop stops responding to clicks. When I manage to make my way back to my main profile the mouse works perfectly. Should I just delete the new profile and try again?

If the modem is also a router, either use the modem in bridge and run pppoe client on the TC.. that is assuming ADSL or similar eg vdsl. If it is cable service.. and the modem is a router, then bridge the TC.. go to internet page and select connect by ethernet and below that set connection sharing to bridge.
Please tell us more about the modem if the above gives you issues.

Here's what I did:
First I tried the Winsock reset in the Command prompt. Nothing changed.
Next, I tried the instructions on http://http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123. The only other program that came up on the 'Winsock Providers' tab on the program was 2 Windows Live applications, which I can do without. So I deleted all Windows Live Applications.
I did the Winsock reset in the Command Prompt again and rebooted my comp.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. iTunes keeps freezing at various stages of the sync, then shows the candy cane-striped bar with either the words 'Finishing sync' or 'Cancelling sync', before showing the Apple logo.
Sometimes, iTunes gets to the syncing stage - "Copying # of ####" - where it will trudge through the first, second and third tracks before flashing "Copying 4 of ####" for a split second and I catch "Cancelling sync" briefly before the Apple logo appears.
Again, I've repeated the steps I mentioned in my previous post. Does ANYONE know when the new version of iTunes is set to be released?! This one is driving me INSANE, to say the least!!
