Sim card fails

I have an Ipad 2, 3g+Wi-fi 16Gb. It was working very well but a few months ago it started returning the error "Invalid SIM". Went to the operator and changed the card (to a brand new card). The problem persists. It only fails when I shut the "door" (from Apple) of the Ipad and it does't happen always. Has anyone encountered the same problem?

Well right now the Ipad is with the operator in tech support. Today I went there and spoke to the techs because they kept saying there was nothing wrong with the ipad.
After I explained that it didn't happen always they put the smartcover on, and after opening and closing it a few times the problem occured. They even took photos and filmed the hole thing. Then they tried it with a Belkin cover and it happend again. Right now I'm suspicious that the continued use of the smartcover damaged the SIM card reader permanently...

Sounds like your iPhone is locked to AT&T. Contact them to see
if you qualify for unlocking.

Sim card failed to register N73

Hi guys an gals,
I randomly get this irritating error and it takes a restart or two to fix, sometimes it fixes itself without restarting. Overall I had the phone 2 months now or bit more and had the problem more or less 10 times...I'm on O2 UK, any ideas?
Has anyone has this problem?

i have the filed to register sim card problem very very rarely (once in 3 weeks maybe)...no idea what causes it, but i just turn off phone, open the back, reinsert the SIM card and turn on again...
that has worked each time so far...i guess it just loses contact with the sim card when the phone gets shaken...didnt really bother with it too seriously yet
abt the camera problem: sounds like u got a defective piece...take it back to where u got it from (if possible) and show them?

Sim card fail iphone 4s with ios 8.0.2

I have an iphone 4s which I recently upgraded to ios 8.0.2. After the upgrade the phone started showing sim card failure. I would restart the phone and it would be ok. initially this was happening once a day and then the frequency increased. Today no amount of restarting the phone seems to be helping. On restarting the phone I get the message "No Sim Card Installed". My phone was working just fine earlier. Please help !

SIM card failure on iPhone 5... Sprint

My iPhone 5 has already been replaced due to a screen issue. Now with the new one I am getting a SIM card failure message. The message states that the network has failed and my SIM card is locked. If I power off the phone it works for about 45 minutes then fails again. I took it to the sprint store and they put a new SIM card in the phone and spent the day checking everything. It worked for three days and now today I get the SIM card failed message again. I am going to the apple store again tomorrow...but for my $300 I've received nothing but a device that is unpredictable, and isn't working. Is this an apple issue? Sprint issue? My husbands phone works very well with no issues. Same phone same carrier. Do I return the phone ? I am super frustrated. Please help me resolve this issue.

Did you bring the 5S from another carrier, or purchase it from Verizon? You said the "same SIM card" - same as what? Did your service work and then stop?
You can get a new SIM from a corporate store for free, sometimes SIM cards fail or are defective.
If the phone is not a Verizon branded phone, it will not work on the Verizon network.

Apple didn't lock the phone, and you'll be waiting until kingdom come of you think that Apple will unlock it.
Only the carrier to which a phone is locked can authorize the unlocking.

Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message.

Not sure if the sim card is envolved with the WIFI connections, But maybe it is.
Try deleting the connection and redefining it.

How to resolve new update causing sim card to fail?

Does anyone have any idea how to solve the problem with this update causing the sim card to fail?

I could only confirm what didn't help in my case:
- removing card was working only for 2-3 weeks
- replacing sim card didn't help
- rebooting device didn't help neither
- reseting device - te same story.
It is widely reported issue for iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPad2, iPad mini after upgrade to IOS 7.0.6 or 7.0.3
Funny is that in my case only SIM card from not supported by Apple GSM operator works (I've tested about 12 SIMs).

I have two Nokia 6300 phones (I know, they are pretty old now, but there's no point me switching them while these still work!). I had one with me when I worked in New York and it worked fine out there with a US pay-as-you-go SIM card. The other one I saved to use in the UK when I was here, and it has a UK pay-as-you-go SIM (Tesco). I have now moved back to the UK and want to use both phones with my UK SIM card, however the one I used in America says 'SIM card registration failed' and won't find any reception when i put my SIM card (or any SIM card) in to it.
I'd be extremely grateful for any help/advice people can offer.

card registration failed means it has been locked out by the service provider
Did you buy the phone NEW?? is so take it back they will exchange it
If you bought it used chances are who ever sold it has reported it lost or stolen or It was stolen before they sold it
I had this on a Brand new N95 which was exchanged by the shop some one had either Palmed it while looking in the shop or just stolen the ID from it

Sounds like the iPhone is locked to a wireless carrier in France.
You will have to contact that carrier to see if they offer unlocking
and if you qualify.
What is the exact wording of the error message you receive when
you try to activate the iPhone with your sim from Egypt?
