SIM card is needed to operate, please insert ???

My phone worked for me all the way to work, while sitting in my console...then i get to work and it says that a SIM card is needed to operate and that I need to turn it off and insert...well as other Razr owners know, you can't remove the SIM card...why is it doing this for no reason?
Honest that I haven't dropped it or anything..literally it just sat in the console..

It's the battery that can't be removed.  Try turning off the phone, remove the SIM card (be careful not to touch the gold contacts), wait a few minutes, then re-insert the SIM card, turn the phone back on, and give it a couple of minutes to re-establish a network connection.  If that doesn't work, the SIM card may have somehow become corrupted and you'll need a new one (they're free at your local Corporate Verizon store).  Here's a link on how to insert/remove the SIM card:

  • Can you take SIM cards out of American iPhones and insert prepaid simcards? I'm in Australia

Can you take SIM cards out of American iphone4 to insert prepaid SIM cards? I did not realize there was a difference between American and Australian iPhones.

"How can I tell if it is officially unlocked? "'
Did you buy it from Apple as unlocked?
" I'm guessing I also have to disassemble the phone to get to the SIM card inside?"
    No.
You really should read the manual.  Just eject the card.

  • SIM card ....HELP PLEASE

I have an issue with the phone not reading the SIM card. I have cancelled my contract to go with straight talk and the sim card keeps saying " no SIM card. Please insert a SIM with no LOCK pin. " but the phone will not read AT&T SIM or Straight Talk SIM. The phone is unlocked with AT&T. Please HELP.

I Am sure it's unlocked. I have spoken with Apple for the past 4 days. The Tech went into my computer and helped me with the restore.... This is crazy.... Now the last Apple guy I spoke to told me I may need to have it sent in and it would cost a lot of money.. It is set up as new now but when I try to set the Phone up... In the left hand corner it says no SIM. And then a screen pops up and says..." No SIM card Installed Insert a Valid SIM with no PIN lock to activate iPhone."

  • I removed my battery in an attempt to insert a SIM card, obviously without knowing how to insert the SIM card. I put the battery back into place and it was already charged 100%, but it's stuck in recovery mode. I've already restored it, but it won't boot.

I was trying to insert a SIM card into my iPhone 4 without actually knowing how to do so. I assumed that I was to remove the back of the phone and find a slot for it near the battery. I removed the battery in an attempt to find a SIM slot, and was obviously unsuccessful. I put the battery back into place and screwed the phone back plate back on. Note: the battery was fully charged and the iPhone was working perfectly fine before. After screwing the iPhone back into place properly, I thought, I attempted to cut the phone on and it would not do so. I put it back on the charger, and the screen came up that says "Connect to iTunes". I obviously couldn't do so if its plugged into the wall. I plugged into the computer, connected it to iTunes, went through the Recovery mode process, and it still won't turn on. The computer says that the iPhone is in Recovery mode, but iTunes can't do anything because it has already been restored. When I disconnect it from the computer, I hold all buttons in all possible combinations, but it won't turn on at all. When I plug it into the wall, it again says to connect to iTunes. I don't know if I damaged the battery or any part within the iPhone, but I was sensitive in my approach to removing the battery and putting it back in, and there is no visible damage whatsoever. I am extremely frustrated and in desperate need of Apple-Pro help.

do you have a cdma iphone 4? becauase cdma iphones dont have a sim card slot... the providers that use cdma technology here in the us would be verizion, sprint, criket, ect... if you want to use your iphone 4 on att or tmobile (gsm carriers). then you would need a gsm iphone 4 (has sim card slot). a gsm iphone 4 is different than a cdma iphone 4 (they have different radio chips). maby you missed the sim card slot? sim card slot would be on the side of the phone.. never inside (unless it has a removable back cover like the galaxy s3 or s4), if you dont see a sim card slot on the side of the phone than you have a cmda iphone 4. can you tell me what carrier you are trying to use?

  • Airtel SIM Card in INDIA is not able insert into BLACKBERRY Z3

    Hi,
I am Syed Ameer, staying in Bangalore India, I have recently purchased BB Z3 phone , Now I am trying to insert the airtel sim card into BB Z3 sim slot, but the problem is that the sim carc slot in phone is very small and sim card in a bit bigger one. so there is a compatible issue with sim slot and sim card.
Is any one in India faced the same issue.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Airtel gave you the wrong SIM card. I'm pretty sure most BB10 phones use a MicroSIM card and apparently Airtel gave you a normal SIM card.
    Cheers.

  • New SIM card = huge email headache HELP PLEASE

A couple days ago the sim card in my phone went bad.  The friendly folks at my phone company replaced it with a new one free of charge (love that) while laughing that my old card hadn't even had 3G on it. It's nice to have the phone working again but I've got a problem I can't seem to solve.  Phone company said I had to contact BlackBerry, but I can't even figure out who I should be talking to on the endless menu options the voicemail has.
When I got this phone 3 years ago it was set up with an email address [email protected]  Here's the problem.  When they replaced the SIM card the phone forgot the password for that email account...and since I hadn't had to remember it even once over the years I've NO idea what it was.  I tried all my logical usual ones to no avail.  Is there somewhere I can go to reset the password?  Everything I've found just has options for adding the email to the phone and require me to already have the password.  I'm at a loss and desperately need access to that email.
Does anyone out there know how to either recover or reset the password?

I always love when the phone company says you have to contact BlackBerry. They're actually your avenue to contacting BlackBerry.
Let's hope that it was just the person that you were talking to that didn't know what to do. What you're going to want to do is call their tech support again and explain the situation to the person you speak to. As the carrier, they should have the correct tools to do this for you, but if they are unable, ask them to escalate the call to the next tier of support. These guys should have the tools, but if they don't they should be able to escalate you directly to RIM at that point.
If you have any problems with that, let us know again and we can see if there is another way we might be able to get you some assistance.
If you want to thank someone for their comment, do so by clicking the Thumbs Up icon.
If your issue is resolved, don't forget to click the Solution button on the resolution!

  • ITunes says there's not a valid SIM card, but there is.  Please help?

Here's the story:  By contract with an argentinean carrier, after 18 months I should get my iPhone 3GS unlocked.  So I bought an iPhone 4S and ask the carrier for a microSIM (or whatever name it has).  They gave me one and I started to use my new iPhone.  After I told my girlfriend, she aseked me to use my old iPhone, and I said of course.  Since she uses another carrier, I asked my to unlock mi iPhone and they said it would unlock itself by plugging it to iTunes and sync.  So I did that and the phone kinda crashed down.  I read I should restore it and so I tried.  iTunes told me that the firmeware was corrupt, or something like that (I don't remember the error's numbers, but there were two, and I think one was 0015).  So I went to another PC and tried again, and -apparently- all went well, it installed the 5.1.
So then I tried to sync with iTunes and discover the the iPhone is suddenly unativated.  I tried to activate it and iTunes said "There is no valid SIM card installed in the iPhone you are trying to activate".  I talked to the carrier's people and they told me to use one of their chips.  So I did.  Then they told me to use a chip from another company, and I did that too.  That was a month ago (carriers over here tend to lose all interest in you once you've already bought what they want you to buy).  I also tried to do it from the iPhone, but it says "Activation servers are temporarily unavailable" or something like that.
I looked over these discussions and found I should delete some lines from the host file.  I did that too. Nothing changed.
Apple has no official support offices in Argentina anymore, and I don't want anybody else touching my iPhone.  I went to the carrier, but they said they'd call me on the next day two weeks ago, so that's not an option.
Can anybody -please- tell me what to do?
This iPhone has never been jailbroken, unlocked, hacked or any other thing that may apply.  Nobody ever touched it except me.
I would really appreciate some help, thank you.

    Hi, Pi.
Have a look at this Apple Support page , the iTunes says my code is "invalid" section in particular.

  • Can I take my SIM Card out of my 3GS and insert it in another 3GS?   My daughter dropped my phone in the toilet tonight.   Can I take my SIM card that I've removed and simply put it in another 3GS phone (a relative's old phone) and it work?

My 4 year old daughter dropped my 3GS in the toilet tonight.  Otterboxes are not waterproof in case you were wondering. : /
While my turned off phone is buried in a bag of rice, is it possible that I can take the now removed SIM card and put it in another 3GS for the interim?  I have an other 3GS (my mom's old one that we use as an iTouch for the kids) on hand that is attached to my apple ID.
If this is possible, is it as simple as taking out the SIM card in my mom's old phone and replacing it with mine?   And does this mess anything up when / if I'm able to salvage my toilet phone?   Can I take the SIM card and simply put it back in my phone after having used it in the other one?
    Thanks.

Put the SIM in the other phone and Restore it from Backup in iTunes. If the old one revives reverse the process.

  • Accidentally locked iPhone 4s SIM card? Need PUK code.

The phone was given to me secondhand by a friend. It has no sevice since I cannot use it with my carrier, and I use it kind of like an iPod touch. How can I get the PUK code?

Contact the wireless provider to which the iPhone is locked and ask them
    for the PUK.
Be advised, you will need a sim in the iPhone to be able to activate it. The
sim does not have to be associated with an active account; however, if the
iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, the sim must be from that wireless
    provider.
Be sure your friend did the following so you can make the iPhone yours:
Before Selling/Giving Away an iOS Device
Backup the device to iTunes or iCloud, if desired: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766
    Settings > Messages > iMessage > Off
    Settings > FaceTime > Off
Settings > iCloud > Delete Account (this only unregisters and deletes it off the iPhone)
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings

  • SIM CARD INSTALLATION AND REMOVAL

When installing or Removing a Sim Card Make sure You Use Caution: When holding the Sim do it by it's Edges an do not Touch any of the Gold surface as it extremely Sensitive to Static Electricity.
Note:  the Reason i wrote this post was to make it aware to new owners to 4G an the Sim Card Especially the Mini Sim as it can be on the difficult side to remove it from the Holder.  When i removed mine from the holder i used a x-acto knife with a No.11 blade it came out easy an when i installed it in my Razr i put it in as described but i used a Toothpick cut to wear it had a blunt face on it. I then put the toothpick up against the Sim an then pushed it in the rest of the Way.

Warning, it's also VERY EASY to put it in upside down - which I just realized I did! I got an error that "A SIM card is needed to operate this phone. Please turn off your phone and insert your SIM card." I turned off my phone, tried to put it in with the gold side up, couldn't get it to fit.   Finally, after trying a couple more times, it slid right in! Now, all is working on my phone again! Remember -- GOLD side UP!

What computer operating system is involved in the Premiere Elements 11 and 13 issues? Same computer or different ones? Are you installing from purchased download installation files or from purchased installation disc? Does Premiere Elements 11 work completely on this computer whereas 13 will not?
Let us go through the typical drill so as to take nothing for granted.
    1. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working with an individual home computer or in a
    school or company network?
    2. Are you running the program as Administrator and is there any "domain" account involved?
    3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on the computer with Premiere Elements?
Let us start by ruling in or out any of the above, and then we can decide what next.
Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Each time I turn off my Maxx, it locks the SIM card, need PUK to unlock

Each time I have to turn my Maxx off, it locks the SIM card and needs the PUK number to unlock it.  I'm so sick of this.  Can anyone please help me?  TYIA!

    Hello Matthew,
When I got my phone, I wanted to lock it so it required the 4 digit PIN code to get into it. I did that, using the "Set up SIM card lock" function, and, I just checked "SIM card lock settings" and it has a check mark beside "Require PIN to use phone".  It has never been set up for encryption.  I've only had it a few weeks.  I never tried to set up encryption, nor did I do anything that made the PUK number be required after my phone has been turned off.  It just started after I'd had it a couple of weeks.  I'm going to be traveling by plane quite often, and will have to turn off my phone.  I'm not sure what to do at that point.  Any help you can give me will be most appreciate!
    Thank you!!

  • If they take out the sim card from it and insert it in another iphone, will they have access to my information?

My iphone5 was stolen this weekend. I have a passcode and the find my iphone app has been activated. The phone hasn't been turned on yet. The police reccomends keeping the app on for a few days to see if they turn it on. I read that the sim card can be removed and the phone will be wiped. Although I would love to get my phone back, I am more concerned with my information being accessed. Is it possible to remove the sim card? If so, can they insert the sim card in another phone and access the information that way or is it safe as long as there is a passcode? Any information will help, thank you.

Since your phone was running iOS 7.0, the phone will be useless to anyone but you. Activation Lock will prevent the phone from being re-activated unless your Apple ID/Password is known.
Your phone is now useless, except as a paperweight.

    Sorry to butt in again:
But your original post(s) were not so clear.
So if your original phone WAS locked and the LOCKED one got replaced from the APPLE store...then there is a 100% chance it IS locked.
Sorry, but there is no such thing as a free lunch...
    Check with Apple anyways...
