Sim card not inserting
Hey,
I took my sim card out of my iPhone 3GS earlier to try it in someones phone, It all came out fine without me becoming suspicious of any hardware issues.
Now I'm trying to put it in it simply isn't going in at all, it looks as if the catch that is unlocked when you push down with that needle thing isn't unlocking at all.
I've had the phone since december 2009, so it's had a few drops since then but it's in alright condition really.
Is this a common problem? Is there a home-fix? Would taking the phone apart acheive anything?
How much do you think apple would charge to fix this I want my phone back.
The SIM Tray is the only User Serviceable Part on the iPhone that is Authorized by Apple.
Carefully replace the SIM Tray oriented correctly by itself, don't break anything. If that works then everything is fine. Then pop the SIM Tray out. Place SIM Card oriented correctly into Tray. Now carefully re-insert SIM Tray containing SIM Card. Done.

I have successfully restored my iPhone 3 gs( Ios ) by itunes. After activation it is asking for activation. When I am going for activation its saying that no SIM card is inserted, but I have already Ufone SIM card is inserted. I checked it with other SIM card like Zong etc but the response was same i.e; no SIM card is inserted. It not catching the signals. I am trying to use my wifi to activate my iphone but it iss not processing then i used itunes to activate by it's again saying that no sim card is detected.
My all contacts and all data is in this mobile. Now Iam unable to contact anyone. Please help me. How can I sort it out?

Wazir AliWell, if you did it yourself, then there is a chance that you damaged some other component inside the device that is causing your issue. The iPhone's are not user serviceable, and once you have opened the device you have voided any warranty and post-warranty support from Apple. I would try Google to see if you can find any other way to repair your device, as Apple will no longer look at it.

URGENT PROBLEM, sim card not recognized in 3gs
I have a problem with my I-phone 3gs.When I bought the I -phone I was downloading skype and I couldnt as it was saying that I needed IOS 5.1 so I upgraded and then when I was trying to activate my phone it says it s not possible : as there is no connection to the server is temporarely unavailable. and then on I -tune says the no sim card is inserted. Anyone knows what to do ???? Thank you very much
Have you double checked the SIM is inserted the right way?
If that doesn't help, you might want to contact the seller for a replacement. -
Each day at random times my phone goes out stating Sim card not found. i was hoping there was a fix in todays update but of course no update. i have been travelling so i cannot back up etc. I have done the reset, the hard reset, and plug into the electric cord, and eventually it does come back but i miss the calls, messages etc. which happen durring this period. What is the fix for this?
If it is an iPhone 4 it is on the side. Bend a paper clip, insert it into the hole, push and the tray will come out. Pay attention to how the microsim is seated and be sure not to bend or damage the tray.

It sounds like the phone was hacked or jailbroken, and updating it locked it to the original carrier. As it is not possible to update to any version other than the current one (5.1) the fact that you updated to 4.1 pretty much confirms the phone was hacked. There is no solution that you can get in an Apple forum. -

I purchase an iPhone 2 days back iPhone was perfectly fine using for tow day but sudenely today fist the carrier service gone than I restored the phone, the phone went to the original factory setting the phone is asking to restore factory setting I treied to restore the the setting through I tunes now the error comes no sim card installed
That's correct, without a supported SIM card you can't set up the phone.
If your carrier supports unlocking, you can use any SIM after your phone has been unlocked by the provider:

No SIM card installed insert a valid SIM with no pin lock to activate iphone
Dear Sir, Recently I noticed that my iphone 3GS is responding very slowly, I thought it got hanged due to the high memory usage so I restarted it but after the restart it showed me iTunes logo & a USB cable. Though the SIM card inside the phone doesn’t have any lock but the message says: No SIM card installed insert a valid SIM with no pin lock to activate iphone. When I connected it to itunes I get this message: iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes, there was a passcode on my iphone which can not be unlocked now as after sliding the arrow the only options I get are: emergency calls & info’s as IMEI: 01 215500 xxxxxx x & ICCID: Unknown. I was suggested to delete the complete programme & get the iTunes reinstalled but I don’t want to lose my data. Can you help me to get my data back? Pls. reply ASAP. Thanks & regards.
ICCID unknown is a critical failure, usually caused by hacking or jailbreaking the phone. It can not be fixed. The phone will need to be replaced.

HELP! Sim card not compatible after being in Apple store
I went to an Apple store with my 3gs as i have a few problems the girl restored my phone back to factory settings. When i came home i conected my phone to itunes it says
only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone. please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carriers store to receive a replacement sim card.
my sim card is inserted so has the girl that works at the apple store broke my phone. can someone please help as i live quite a bit away from an apple store.

At what stage did you get a replacement ,you will not get any answers if you only provide half of the facts
in which case #2 is the sim faulty ?

Let me ask again, did you get swap the old SIM card for a completely NEW SIM card?
And it performs the same way... reboot cycles?

Iphone 5 SIM card not installed or no service
Hi from lady few weeks I am having this problem where phone says SIM card not installed or no service. Turning the phone on and off does work but it happens at least ten times a day. I have got a new SIM card thinking its a problem with the SIM card.
But now I have noticed the moment I switch on to 3G mode from the settings it does the same thing.
Can anyone tell me is it the problem with the phone or my service carrier. I have been working iPhone for almost two years never had this problem before.
