Sim card not supported after unlock iphone 5c

iphone 5c, 12.7 GB, version 8.1.1, after unlocking when i connect it to itunes w/ other sim, sim card not supported error registered,. i check it to IMEI and its unlock, but why icant use it? I try to restore to itunes and erase my iphone nothing works, what can i do?

How was the phone unlocked?  Was it unlocked by your previous carrier?  The only way to unlock your phone is to have your previous carrier unlock it for you.
If you phone was unlocked in any other way, this constitutes hacking or jailbreaking and your phone will not work with another sim card.
Get the phone unlocked properly by your carrier and there is no reason why it should not work.

  • SIM card not supported after upgrade OS

I bought iPhone in Hongkong & use it in Jakarta. Originally iPhone worked well with SIM card of Telkomsel/XL, but few days ago I downloaded & installed upgraded OS ver 1.1.4.7 from internet and the result is my iPhone cannot work since the SIM Card is not supported anymore. pls help me resolve this.
    Djend

All the iPhones sold in Hong Kong are hacked. Once you done the Restore, it would loss the unlock SIM function.
Hope the iPhones can officically launched early in Asia.

  • ITunes error message SIM card not supported after hard restore

Decided to do a Restore of iPhone 4 after several unresolved issues. Everything fine until reboot when iTunes tells me that the SIM card is not recognized. I have found numerous posts and discussiopns about this; I have removed SIM card, restarted, re inserted card, reset phone all to no avail....do I really need to buy a new SIM card?

Was the phone purchased new in the US from either Apple or AT&T? If not it is locked to some other carrier and there is nothing you can legitimately do about it.
If you DID buy it new from AT&T or Apple the phone is broken; you will have to contact Apple for replacement. If it is less than a year old this will not cost anything. You can check warranty status here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do

  • Sim Card Not Supported - Brand New iPhone 3GS

    Hi Guys!
I won an iPhone in a competition and have just put my O2 sim card (that was previously in my iPhone 3G) in and when trying to activate it, I am getting an error from iTunes saying...
The sim card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported.
    Here is a screenshot... http://twitpic.com/1uvazb
    Any advice?

Okay, so I have found out that it was supposed to be on Orange. Is there any way that I can get it across to O2, legally? I don't want to mess around with Jailbreaking etc.

  • I installed new 6.0.1 os it is done succesfully but after that insterted my sim it is showing sim card not supported any one plz help me

i installed new 6.0.1 os it is done succesfully but after that insterted my sim it is showing sim card not supported any one plz help me

That message occurs when updating a phone that was hacked to be used with your network.  Upgrading the phone has re-locked it to it's rightful carrier.  You will need a SIM from the original carrier to proceed.

  • I phone blocked! Sim card not supported!

I phone blocked! Sim card not supported!
Recently bought an Iphone here in the Republic of Congo for about $600 and it was working fine until an update on Itunes. Now the phone just shows a USB cable and I tunes logo. When I connect the phone to Itunes it wants to restore and update, but then just blocks the phone again.

Who did you by the phone from? Apple? A telecom company? Ebay?
The phone was most likely jailbroken and unlocked. Applying the latest firmware updated undid that.

  • IPhone 4 Sim Card not supported Help!

I bought an iPhone 4 off someone under the impression that it was UNLOCKED due to the fact that is had no Network on the box (unlike other iPhones i've had)
but when taking my o2 Sim out of 1 iPhone and putting it into my newer one, iTunes was saying that the Sim was not supported,
so im obviously guessing that the iPhone is actually locked to a Network....
I tried Googling the Part/Serial Number and Vodafone kept getting mentioned so might it be locked on the Vodafone Network?
    (MC604B/A)
Any help with this would be appreciated!!
I need to get this sorted asap and need my o2 Sim working in my newer iPhone before my older one has sold (on eBay)
I purchased a Vodafone MicroSim just incase i'll need 1 for whatever reason..
but is there any other way or anyone else I can talk to to get this newer iPhone accepting my o2 Sim?
I cant get onto the iPhone at all as it stays on the main emergency call page as it isn't activated!
    Thanks.

One of the big downfalls of purchasing an iPhone from a non-official source is a mess like this. Only the carrier that an iPhone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking. Just about every carrier that unlocks iPhones will only do so for users active on their network. Thus, you're gonna have to establish service with the carrier this phone is locked to(after verifying they offer unlocking), then request they unlock your phone.

  • SIM not supported on UNLOCKED iPhone 4S

I bought my iphone 4S just under a year ago UNLOCKED. Since then, I have been using it on O2 in the UK and of course have accepted any software updates. The phone is NOT jailbroken.
My O2 contract came to its renewal and I decided to change carriers to 3. Today I have received my new micro SIM, inserted it and it said "Activation required", went through the steps but it says the SIM is not supported! It almost looks like Apple or O2 have locked my unlocked phone to O2. How can than that happen?
    Any ideas anyone?
    Regards,
    Gordon

    Phil,
Apple write the software and obviously make the phone lock to the first provider it connects with. In my eyes, that software is not the fault of Carphone Warehouse. Any other manufacturer's phone purchased from Carphone Warehouse without a SIM is FULLY UNLOCKED, but Apple being Apple have to be different.
I got really annoyed the first iPhone I purchased when I walked out of the Apple shop and could not even use the phone until I returned home because it insisted that I connect to iTunes before it would activate the SIM. Again a stupid unnecessary process from Apple. Does that happen with a Motorola? a Samsung?, a Nokia? etc. Of course not! Apple just want to be in complete control of you.
I called O2 and they unlocked the phone, but IMHO it is Apple who write the software for these phones, no one else does it. Whether you agree or not is up to you. I am just a consumer trying to use the product, which is frustrating!

  • SIM Card Not Supported.  Never Hacked iPhone Bought From Apple Store!

My 3GS was stolen yesterday. I have my never hacked iPhone 2G that I wanted to re-activate so I went down to the ATT store and they gave me a new sim to put in and activate. iTunes says that the SIM is not supported. Went back and tried another SIM and no luck. After 2 hours at the store still no working phone.
I never hacked the phone, just always updated it with the latest apple software. It sat in a drawer for a year now until my 3GS was stolen. Restore didn't help.
    ANY IDEAS?

Mmmm...the sim you're trying to use is activated, correct? If so, try this:
See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. You, of course, would chose "new".

  • HELP! Sim card not compatible after being in Apple store

I went to an Apple store with my 3gs as i have a few problems the girl restored my phone back to factory settings.  When i came home i conected my phone to itunes it says
only compatible sim cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate iphone.  please insert the sim card that came with your iphone or visit a supported carriers store to receive a replacement sim card.
my sim card is inserted so has the girl that works at the apple store broke my phone.  can someone please help as i live quite a bit away from an apple store.
    Ashley

No they will have given you one that was locked to the carrier that the original was locked to
At what stage did you get a replacement ,you will not get any answers if you only provide half of the facts
in which case #2 is the sim faulty ?
You really would be best served by taking it back to the Apple store

  • SIM card not supported for the 2nd time

My initial iphone 4 was broken beyond repair, under warranty I forked out the cash to receive a replacement. A replacement which told me my sim was not supported - receiving a replacement micro SIM from my carrier it STILL DID NOT WORK. I sent my replacement away, and received a replacement for my replacement. SIM card still not supported. SIM works fine with any other iphone 4, i've tested it on several other computers and completed full restore. Is it just me or does Apple seem to be trolling me?

I bought an iphone from o2 yesterday and got the micro sim activated today, inserted it and itunes says the sim carrier is not supported :S yet the phone is from o2 and so is the sim! And the sim works fine in a normal o2 phone when inserted with the bigger tray.
I have taken it out and put it in again but no luck! I rang o2 and they said they are sending me a replacement micro sim but i have read about the problem being in the phone (well at least it was in the 3gs)!
I'm so gutted - owned an iphone for 24 hours without using it think im going to o2 and then the apple shop tomorrow! Not at all happy...

  • Sim card not valid after update to ios 5

just updated to iOs 5 on an AT&T iphone 4....says sim card not valid

Just to make sure it wasn't a PC/Mac issue I have tried the following on each of 2 different windows PC's and a Mac & a MacBook Pro:
New installation/download of the Software update for iPhone 4, and each time putting the phone into recovery mode. I have also been using a new micro sim from O2 - obtained first thing this morning.
You do the maths on how much time this has taken, and guess what it still doesn't work....!
This has to be the most direct way of getting someone to upgrade to a new phone - the day before a new iPhone comes out - coincidence.......hmmm.
Just as a point of interest the iPhone was replaced in May this year, so is relatively new.
I do find it had to believe that there is no word from Apple as to the reason &/or a resolution.

  • Help with Nokia E63 says SIM card not valid after ...

    Hi,
I moved to France from UK and just unlocked my Nokia E63 with a code given to me by my UK provider Virgin. Phone is definately unlocked. My French provider (Lefrenchmobile) have given me a new sim. When I put in the SIM and turn on my phone I have to enter the SIM PIN, and do this and get an accepted message. Then phone says SIM card not valid, and won't do anything. What can I do? If I put my virgin SIM back in then it works fine.

Have you double checked if your phone is compatible with the new operator's network? Just simply tell the model to their customer services, they should be able to determine the compatibility.
