Sim card of ipad air

If I bought ipad air wifi with cellular version, can I insert my sim card of iphone5?

Most carriers have two different types of accounts, one kind of cell phones and one kind for tablets. It is unlikely that your iPad will work with a SIM configured for an iPhone account.

You should be able to use the sim eject tool (or something like a bent paperclip if you don't have it) to remove the sim card holder from its slot on its left-hand side so that you can inser the nano sim card into it

  • I am unable to activate the sim in my ipad air 5th generation can you suggest how i can activate

i brought ipad air cellular model and inserted nano sim card but i am unable to dial number because there is no display of numarical pad to dial. But on left side i am getting the netwaork name DU with 5round ponits. Can you suggest it is required any software to activate.

The ipad is not a cellular phone and does not make phone calls without third party apps that convert data to cellular.
The intent of the cellular sim in the ipad is for data usage, such as browsing or app connections, not cellular phone calls.

  • SIM card on Macbook Air

I hope Apple considers inserting a SIM card into the Macbook Air. It will allow access to Net in absence of WiFi, the availability still remains confined to few spots. The 11" inch device will be a better bet than even the Ipad.

Yes, majority of USB dongles will be mac compatible, often having a drivers available on the actual USB stick, or downloadable from manufacturer website. You're probably best contacting your network provider for best offer.
Alternatively, you can create wireless hotspot on your iphone and connect your macbook to it. That way you are using your phone's internet connection on the macbook.

  • HT201415 I inserted a working sim card but iPad(2) says "no SIM" - cellular data setting greyed out

I inserted a working SIM card into my iPad 2. It picked up the network but later gave a message saying "No SIM". The Cellular Data control option is greyed out so I cannot get in to this function. I have tried removing the SIM and re-inserting as well as re-starting. This made no difference. Any suggestions why this is the case? I have tried the SIM in my iPhone 4 and it works fine. Thank you.

The SIM was taken from my iPhone. It is an extra line and was used for voice calls etc. So, it appears as though I need to get a dedicated data SIM. Appreciate the assistance..many thanks!

  • The Nano-SIM slot in iPad Air cannot working

I have iPad Air (WiFi + Cellular) since a year ago. Its capacity is 32 GB (26.6 GB net) and its iOS version is 8.1.3. I didn't have any problems recently, but its Nano-SIM slot is damaged and cannot be used anymore. It happened when I put my iPad on a bed, then it got bounced and fell to the floor. Luckily, the battery is in good condition and able to be recharged. Its WiFi, apps, and other components can be used as usual.

It sounds as if what you have is an iPad 2 WiFi+3G from Verizon. It will have no SIM slot and will only work on CDMA networks (for all practical purposes, only on Verizon's CDMA network).

  • Inserting SIM card into iPAD

For the third time of asking, and thank you to those who have responded so far.
HOW DO YOU INSERT THE SIM CARD?
I know about the pinhole into which one sticks a paper clip or suchlike and the sim cradle is supposed to slide out.
BUT NOTHING HAPPENS AT ALL. HAS ANYBODY ELSE HAD THE SAME ISSUE?
What angle should one push the pin in? I've tried every angle and the **** thing just remains closed.
I feel I have been conned. Can anyone help please?

Push it straight into the hole on the side of the iPad next to the tray.
    From the manual :
Open the SIM tray: Insert the tip of the SIM eject tool into the hole on the SIM tray. Press firmly and push the tool straight in until the tray pops out. Pull out the SIM tray to install or replace the micro-SIM card. If you don’t have a SIM eject tool, you may be able to use the end of a small paper clip.
If it won't eject then are you near to an Apple store ?

  • Sim cards and macbook air

Ok.  So when I bought my MacBook Air, the Apple store sold me a contract with the 3 Network for broadband access.  They sent me a sim card.  It does not fit.  Can anybody advise please?

you will need to buy a USB attachment to place the sim card in.

  • Purchased ipad in united states and moving to geneva, switzerland; can i purchase a sim card for ipad in geneva switzerland

can i purchase a new sim card for my ipad2 since i am relocating to europe--geneva switzerland

Yes, as iPads with 3G are usually not SIM locked, you could exchange the US micro SIM with a new one from Switzerland.

  • No SIM card in ipad mini intermittent

This keeps appearing at random times, but once it does it tends to be very stubborn.  Any ideas on how to fix?

I too updated 4s to ios8, and have been getting No Sim Card Installed prompt message all the time. I too only use wifi all the time and no sim installed. But never get this prompt in ios7.
There are many other things that break too:
    - stuttering animation
    - battery draining
    - browser could not open live video (previously ok in ios7).
    Hope apple get it fixed.

  • My video won''t transfer from my SD card to iPad Air through Apple lightening USB cable, photos were OK

Can not transfer video files to iPad Air through apple lightening SD reader

Do you see them to transfer? I know the camera kit requires a very specific naming convention, file names of exactly 8 characters. If your videos don't follow that then the iPad won't 'see' it to import video
Or do you see the files but they just won't transfer across?

  • Can I use GSM without a sim card on ipad

I want to use my Satellite tracking without a sim  card , is it possible?

You should be able to use the built-in GPS without needing to have a sim card installed (if you don't have network access then you will need to have mapping software which has the required maps built-in/downloaded to the app).

  • How do I import from sd card to iPad air

I Have plugged my sd card into my iPad . The photos were not a problem but my videos don't work

    Favorites as in browser bookmarks?
If so, this is selected under the Info tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes. All browsers are not supported with this.

  • Ipad won't connect to itunes with sim card inserted

    I have an interesting situation.
I bought a second hand Ipad 32GB WiFi + 3G from a user who was upgrading to the iPad 2. They kept their SIM card and we purchased a replacement SIM card from AT&T's website. (The original SIM card was also from AT&T)
Without the SIM card inserted, the Ipad works perfectly, the same as my other WiFi-only Ipads do. When I insert the SIM card, however, even with the 3G service turned off in settings, Windows & ITunes will no longer even recognize that the Ipad is connected (that's to say powering off the Ipad, installing SIM card, powering Ipad back up and then connecting it w/ the same known working USB Sync cable).
Anyone have any ideas? Right now I'm not even worried about using the 3G, I'd just like to have the SIM card installed so that the 3G can be setup & activated if / when it's needed and we're out and about. Besides not being recognized by the PC, the Ipad w/ SIM card installed works perfectly well on it's own, but (obviously) I'm unable to sync anything to / from it, or back it up in iTunes.
Hoping someone can point me in the direction of something obvious that I've missed.

The only idea/suggestion I have is that you do a reset of your iPad, with the SIM card installed: Press Home + sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until the white Apple logo appears.

Can I connect a sim card to my ipad mini (WiFi)
Nope. You cannot connect sim cards to iPads. You can insert them into the iPad's sim tray if it has one. Which if its is a Wifi only model it wil not have the tray nor the cellualr hardware to do anytihng with it.
