Sim cards and macbook air

Ok.  So when I bought my MacBook Air, the Apple store sold me a contract with the 3 Network for broadband access.  They sent me a sim card.  It does not fit.  Can anybody advise please?

you will need to buy a USB attachment to place the sim card in.
