I am traveling abroad and insert local SIM card in droid pro,it asks me to input "SIM network unlock PIN" to use the local service.How do I do then?Thanks.

The SIM PIN option is only available when the handset is in GSM / UMTS mode. Refer to Network Mode Setting for further assistance.

Are you talking about the PUK code (when the PIN for the SIM has been wrong too many times)? The OP is talking about network unlock, and is using a foreign SIM. Global Services certainly wouldn't have the unlock code for a SIM that isn't theirs.
I have heard that if you do enter the incorrect network unlock code too many times, the phone becomes permanently locked (i..e cannot be unlocked even with a valid unlock code) but not everyone agrees that this is true for all phones.
Jax's post above really says it all, you will need to search the web for a service that will unlock this Motorola phone. In doing so, you might find a number of threads that say the Global has to be activated in the US before an unlock code will work. Others were able to unlock without this.

It means your phone is network locked to another carrier. To use this sim your phone needs to be on EE, unlocked or sim free.
If you want the code to unlock your phone you will need to contact the carrier which issued the phone but as with EE there maybe come conditions you need to comply with before this will be done and a fee to pay.

Thanks. Apparently Verizon isn't really "sorry to see the customer go". I'll simply buy an unlocked phone and be done with Verizon for good. Two years is to long to be treated like this by them. I bought my phone and should be able to use it with whatever carrier I want. It is no longer Verizon's phone. Yes I understand they own some of the stuff they put on my phone but by all means they can remove it. I didn't want their crap on their in the first place. If you are not a current Verizon Wireless customer and also don't meet the other qualifications, you cannot get the unlock code for the SIM unlock on a VZW branded device.

I sold a macbook pro to a friend of mine and when she was just signing up for find my iphone when she bought an iphone today. She got a grey screen while singing up or something and its asking for a system unlock code? Its asking for a 6 digit code (numbers only I believe).
Can anyone A. explain this, and B tell me what steps I'd need to take in order to find the pin? Would really appreciate the help.

In order for Verizon Wireless to unlock a SIM you must have an active Verizon Wireless account with the device activated on the account or previously activated on the account. If you have recently open an account with us the account has to be active for at least 60 days for the SIM to be unlocked. Let me know if this helps.

Droid pro without contract

hello verizon community,
im currently located in germany, and i really want to get my handy onto a droid pro.
since it is only distributed over verizon i was wondering if buying it for the ~480$ and making a month to month plan, which i could cancel after one month (?) keeping the device and sending it to germany would be possible? i mean is it locked to verizon or are there any other obstacles?
would be great to find out, i really love the phone and it seems like another few month before it hits germany!... ;(

VZ will unlock the phone for contract customers who have been with them long enough (1 per year), but that wouldn't work for you probably. That said, is this such a great phone if you just use it in GSM mode? I thought at that price you can do better and get some of the fancy phones that we would like over here!

I have a home network running Windows Server 2012 R2 that is a domain controller. Currently the roles on the server are the following:
- Active Directory Certificate Services
- Active Directory Domain Services
- DNS
- DHCP
- Hyper-V
- WDS
I have a 1 test laptop connected to the domain that is currently running Windows 8.1 Professional.
I am trying to setup the Bitlocker Network Unlock feature for the laptop. I am currently following this guide posted on this link below.

I have followed the guide as closely as possible and I have gotten to the part named "Step four : Create Network Unlock Certificate.
I can open certmgr.msc and can request a new certificate but it says in the guide the following
"Choose the certificate template created for Network Unlock on the Domain controller and select Enroll. When prompted for more information, add the following attribute to the certificate:"
Unfortunately I do not have anything that is remotely suitable to choose. Am I to create the certificate first so that I can access this? Can someone please advise where I should progress from here please?

Have you created certificate templates for Network Unlock usage?
To do that, we can duplicate an existed certificate template then make necessary changes on it.

I would recommend wiping the system and reinstalling the OS for any used system. OS X does not have any "unlocking pin" of sorts so this may be from some third-party software on the system. The system does have a "firmware password" option that can be set to prevent booting to alternative boot environments (ie, external hard drives, safe mode, etc), but this will not prevent system updating.

New Iphone 4 factory unlocked: "No SIM" "Insert Valid SIM with no pin lock"

Hi, I'm new in the forum.
I've just bought a new factory unlocked Iphone 4 from a top rated seller in USA, came back to my country, inserted my Sim in the Iphone, and got the message:
"No Sim" "Insert valid sim with no pin lock to activate Iphone"
This Sim I was using in my old Iphone and actually in a Blackberry Storm.
After the message I put it back again in the BB, and it works fine.
But in the Iphone I get always this message.
One thing: My SIM is a regular one, and I had to use a tempalte available in the net to cut it into a micro SIM.
In the BB it keeps on working.
Any idea?

I answer your question: I buy a lot of things from ebay, and I just looked for "an original factory unlocked" one, assuming their are original, just that.
If I had known I could have bought it CHEAPER directly in Apple, I would have never done it in ebay! (I was told in my country that if you buy in the web, normally you get a discount, sound logic to me.
On the other hand I saw that this seller sold over 1000 Iphones and I trusted that's all.
I'm not dealing with phones, I sell art.
Anyway I still trust what is written there, that they are factory unlocked, and I'll try what you say tomorrow with my carrier: I'll buy a micro sd, and if it still doesn't work, I'll write this seller to see what's going on
