SIM Phone Number - Uncaught exception (initalValue)

Hello Everyone,
I'm using a 8300 (v4.2.2.180) - Somehow, my phone number on the unit stored in Sim Phone Number, has grown to about 30 digits. It's completely wrong, so I'm trying to fix it. However, when I click on Sim Card, and attempt to click on 'Edit SIM Phone Number', I immediately get an error after I click: 'Uncaught Exception: invalid initalValue'
Does anyone know how I can fix this? I'm running this off a BES but I feel it's more of a device issue.

Correcting Phone Number in Desktpop Manager 6.0

I recently downloaded Desktop Manager 6.0 and when it launches the Phone Number is incorrect. How do you change the number? It it on the Phone (Curve 8310) or in Desktop Manager (looked but could not find anywhere to change it).

Hello glroberts4508 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
The BlackBerry Desktop Manager is reading the phone number from the BlackBerry SIM card.
You can check the number on your BlackBerry by going to Options -> Advanced Options ->SIM Card. If the number listed here is incorrect, you can hit your Menu key and Edit SIM Phone Number.
When you connect to the BlackBerry Desktop Manager it should then read this number and match up.

How can I change the phone number

I have 4S, which was registered with old phone number. How Can I change the number in "Settings - phone" to the new sim phone number? Thanks

Turn your phone off, install the sim with your new number, turn your phone on...does it appear correct now?

Device phone number does not display on Blackberry

Even though the option is set to yes, display phone number, it shows on the device as unknown. The devices are on a BES. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

If you go under Options | Advanced Options | SIM Card, does it show the phone number there?
Also in this screen if you hit the menu button go into Edit SIM Phone Number and type in the device's phone number. If the number still isn't showing up try resetting the device by removing the battery for 1 minute and replacing it.

IMessage & FaceTime waiting for activation (no phone number, only email is showing)

I had a new SIM card from work so tried it out in my iPhone, and then returend back my orginal persoanl SIM card. Since then, iMessage and Facetime is stuck waiting for activation, and trying to verify my wrong number (the SIM I removed). email (Apple ID) is working on both, but strangly it was stuch for days trying to verfiy the wrong SIM (phone number) I had already removed, not the SIM inserted in my iPhone. I tried everything:
- Eject and insert SIM card.
- Turn iMassage OFF and ON again
- Turn Facetime OFF and ON again (then kept it OFF till i reslove iMessage)
- Updated my Apple ID account and in APP STORE to have my correct phone number.
- REST all settings
- REST all Content & Settings
- REST Netwrok Settings
Now, after a Factory REST through iTunes, my wrong number had been finally removed. However, my correct number is not showing up at all in iMessage or Facetime, stuck waiting for activation (only email works in both)
Any one out there with a fix? please?

Have you tried all of the following:
If you still can't send or receive iMessages
To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.
iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
iOS: Troubleshooting cellular data
Ensure that iMessage is turned on in Settings > Messages.
iMessage registration validates your Apple ID for use with iMessage. If you are unable to activate iMessage, try the following:
Sign in to iMessage on your device using a valid Apple ID. After you validate the email address for use with iMessage, other iMessage users can connect to you using that email address. If you encounter issues registering or using an Apple ID account:
Ensure you have an active Internet connection.
Verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at myinfo.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this webpage.
Ensure that your date, time, and time zone are set correctly. If your country has recently made a daylight saving time (DST) change, it may be necessary to manually set the time zone to one that matches your local time.
Check that your email address is verified in Settings > Messages > Receive At.
If Settings > Messages > Receive At shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
Toggle iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages.
iPhone automatically registers your phone number for use with iMessage during activation. If you encounter issues activating or using iMessage with your phone number:
Verify that you are connected to a cellular network.
Toggle iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages.
If you are unable to activate iMessage on a device after remote wiping it, wait at least 24 hours and try again.

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

For the iPad, iMac you need to create verifyible e-mail addresses created with one of the providers such as Yahoo, Gmail,etc. For the iphone you should use it's phone number, but an e-mail could be used for it too. If you want to associate these e-mail addresses with a single ID, I'm including a link to give you info about how you can do that. Read it carefully, as it can be a bit confusing.

Wipe iPhone/iPad/iPod touch clean
There are a few steps to do:
Switch off iMessage in Settings > Messages
Switch off FaceTime in Settings > FaceTime (iPod touch 4th Generation or later, iPhone 4 or later and iPad 2 or later)
Delete iCloud in Settings > iCloud > Delete Account
Finally Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
Un-register your device: https://supportprofile.apple.com
Now you can sell/give.
Now, you should get her a new Apple ID to sign in the options above.

I don't understand why my sim card has a new phone number

I was with T-Mobile on a sim-only monthly contract. This was due to expire, and naturally my new contract is with EE due to the merge. I was told, after agreeing on a new sim-only contract, that the sim card that would be sent to me would have my usual phone number on it, saving the hassle of informing everyone of a new number. However, I just put it in my phone and it has a totally new number associated with it. Is this a mistake that I need to phone EE to correct, or do I just need to wait a few days?

Hi. I have also just upgraded from Orange to an EE phone/plan today. My new SIM also has a new number associated with it at the moment. How long does it usually take for my regular number to move across to the new SIM. I'm currently using both phones, which is no problem. Uncaught Exception for like three weeks now!! my alarm wont go off or make noise, nor will my phone play music, anyone else have this problem or know the solution? ive tried dowloading software and sync it and nothing happens.

There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:

The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the alt key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type).This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info.
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app.

Where is shown my phone number on my Z30 display .... sim card ?

I use to see my phone number in the Setting /security & privacy / SIM CARD....
and now I can't see it anymore on my Z30 / BB 10.2.1.3062.
Why but How can I have my phone number back on the display ?

Can you edit it in Settings >Security and Privacy >Sim Card? If not, try rebooting the device by holding the power button down for about 10 seconds, through the countdown, through the red LED, and until you see the BB logo again. See if the number populates. If that doesn't work remove the sim and reboot the phone again as described above. Then insert the sim and do it again.
