It sounds like the phone was hacked or jailbroken, and updating it locked it to the original carrier. As it is not possible to update to any version other than the current one (5.1) the fact that you updated to 4.1 pretty much confirms the phone was hacked. There is no solution that you can get in an Apple forum.

Have you tried a - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

What do you see instead of update on the apps you are concerned about?
When updating to iOS 7 auto update for apps will be turned on. When an app has an update available your iPad will download and install the update with no input from you. Apps that have been updated by this automatic process but which have not yet been opened will show a blue dot before their name.
A record of updated apps is kept for your convenience. You can see this record by using the App Store app and select Updates, the right most choice in the bottom row. -
I just updated my iPad2 to ios7 and everything returned except my movies. Why??? I was trying to ADD a movie for my 5 year old and it said I needed a later iOS. Now he has ZERO movies!!!! Just great!! Can anyone help??
For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now. They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

Hello, I've upgraded my Ipad2 to iOS7. I'm facing two major problems. First, I can't connect to the internet(which seems like a common problem), no Wifi connectivity as well. Second, the Autocad WS app doesn't work. It keeps asking for a username/passcode combination. Please help me guys. I will be genuinely grateful.

Cause when I tried re-adding it says something that I should try without SSL, and I did what you said and it gives me this "The IMAP server pop.mail.yahoo.com is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the incoming mail server field". Ahh.. this is so annoying, Apple what are you doing to me?! Or is Yahoo doing this to me?!

I am trying to update my Ipad2 to iOS7 via iTunes 11.1 for PC.
The update has been downloaded but when trying to update the iPad, it gives the error 3004. I have read all the advice, did all the dns flush, disabling firewall and antivirus, but no go. iPad in recovery state and can only get it out of that state with Tiny Umbrella.
Surely the servers cannot be congested still? Please help!Hi,

I am having Macbook Pro, I have recently tried updating my operating system to OS Yosemite, but after that its giving problem in connecting to Wifi. The error is "Connection Time out Occurred". Its getting connected by Ethernet cable.
Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wireless router.
Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
Step 4
Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
Step 6
Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.

Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.

suryaThe problem is, the cellEditor does not know that editing has stopped and therefore has not updated the model (where the data actually resides). When you click off the cell to another cell, the first cell knows it must be done editing because you are leaving it. If you click a button (or anything other than another cell), the cell being edited has no knowledge of this. You need to call stopCellEditing() on the cell editor and your problem will be solved. To do this, put the following method into your code and call it when you click the button to clear, save or whatever you need to do.

Sounds to me like a hardware issue or maybe something is stuck in the headphone jack. When you plug in headphones, the jack in the iPad is switched to play only through the headphones and not the iPad's speakers. Sounds like either the jack is faulty or there is something stuck in the headphone jack. Get a flashlight & look inside the jack for anything that looks like it doesn't belong in there.
Regardless, I'd take it in to an Apple Store if you have one nearby to have it checked.
EDIT: "Ocean20" had an excellent suggestion above. While doing that, you may also want to rotate/twist the plug in the jack back & forth a few times as well. Dirty contacts can often times be cleared by doing this. -

Missing "7-Zip File"

I haven't been able to update Firefox since 10.01 or 10.02 because every time I try I get the same message the "7-ZIP File" is missing. Then the update fails. I've submitted this problem to Mozilla Firefox and, got an immediate reply of " they are researching your problem".
Well, you can tell how long that has been. Is there anything I can do, or any where I can go to get the file I need?

Same problem here. I am trying to load photos from my iPhone 5 to my iPad 3. The iPad asks me to trust the iPhone, and the iPhone says "iPad: device not supported". I am using the camera connection kit w/ USB connector and my iPhone lightning adaptor. This worked before iOS 7.
