SIM slot is locked by USB cover

How could this be allowed in customer hands?
This is happened on my Lumia800, right now, it can't be recharging, it can't be operated on SIM slot, and I can't solve this problem by myself!
Now, do I admire the design of new NOKIA new windows phone?

@xiaoww
Certainly isn't the first time and won't be the last time this happens as in this thread:http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-with-Windows-Phone/Lumia-800-USB-cover-won-t-open/m-p/1267663/...

  • Lumia 800 USB cover won't open!

Hi everyone. I just got my Lumia 800 (yay!) but I think I may have messed things up already. When I inserted the sim card slot back into the phone the USB cover was already closed. Now the sim card slot is almost entirely inserted, except for the very end of it which is sticking out slightly (but not even enough to slide a fingernail under it). The USB cover won't open at all.
    I've attached a picture in case I wasn't clear.
Can somebody help fix this? Thank you!

    @hjd87
Presumably you removed the adhesive labels off these two components before trying, as USB cover should be up before attempting to remove SIM tray?
Think that you are going to have to try to remove SIM tray first now, as USB cover is looking horribly distorted.

  • NANO SIMS AVAILABLE - UN-LOCK THE IPHONE 5 !!!

Now that Nano-Sims are flowing freely on the open market (not re-furbed micro Sims that someone actauly did in their garage) but actual production models, WHY hasn't Apple UN-LOCKED the retail store version of the iPhone 5 ?? This could increase their sales even firther !!! It also begs the question - WHY can't I buy an un-locked iPhone 5 in Southern California BUT I CAN IN GAZA - on the street - for almost the same price???

According to many web sites the Verizon iPhone 5 is SIM unloocked and will work with T-Mobile's network.
    From MacRumors
"It's worth noting that though the Verizon iPhone 5 will work on AT&T and T-Mobile's 3G network for voice and data, the phone will not work on AT&T's LTE data network. It will work on a number of international LTE networks."

laptop don't support sim card directly the only thing you can do now is to buy a usb data card /dongle insert sim in it and then connect it to your laptop define the access point name and get connected to the internet usb data card are mainly of 4 variants 7.2Mbps 14.6Mbps 21.2MBps and 4G modems you can find them in local market cost should be around 700-1.4k for 3g modems or you can buy them online through amazone, ebay, flipkart and i would recommend shopclue as i got a 21.2MBps modem for 1.1k

  • Micro sim slot (for ipad2)

I've just bought an ipad2 : WIFI   3G (from a Verizon store in the US) to use in another country but at my surprise there was no slot to insert the micro SIM !  Can anyone help me with this ?

Only posting because I think some clarification is needed. What they are both getting at is three models were made for the iPad2.
    Wifi only:
Has an all metal back and can only get access from wifi hotspots.
    AT&T:
This model has a little black plastic strip on the back at the top for better antenna signal strength. It also has a sim card because it uses a technology that requires sims. This slot is located on the side towards the top.
    Verizon:
This model also has the black plastic bit but it lacks the sim slot because Verizons technology doesn't need sims.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon model are locked to their respective carriers, so to answer your question, yes you have to use verizon for any 3G access, (you can add a contractless plan from the iPad itself in the settings). This also means that even if you had an AT&T iPad you would have to use an AT&T sim. There are ways around this with the AT&T model, though they usually involve messing with the firmware by jailbreaking.

  • I updated my 4s to ios7, and had to restore it (stupidly forgot my passcode and disabled it), and now it wont activate, for 2 days... I can't activate it through iTunes because the sim card is locked. What do I do?

I need help reactivating my 4s!
I updated the software to ios7, couldn't remember my passcode (never used it before, and ios7 turned it on) and ended up disabling my phone. Erased it remotely via Find my iPhone, and now that I'm trying to restore it, it wont activate. It's been this way for 2 days now. I get the "activation server is unavailable" error. I realize Apple is struggling with their servers during this software update and launch of the new iPhone 5, but really, 2 days now??
I am currently living abroad, and am using a sim card that must be unlocked. So when I plug it into iTunes, it will not activate because the sim card is locked.
Help!! Is there anything I can do?

Try disconnecting your iPhone temporarily and then reconnecting it after a while.

  • Will i be able to listen to music, watch videos and take pictures and sync with itunes without a sim in my locked iphone 5?

Will i be able to listen to music, watch videos and take pictures and sync with itunes without a sim in my locked iphone 5?

You will need a SIM to activate it. There is no way around that. The SIM does not have to be active, but it must be from the correct carrier if the phone is carrier locked. Once activated, it can be removed and used like an iPod touch, but if you ever have to restore or update iOS, you will need the SIM to re-activate it.

I bought my iPhone 4 in Hong Kong and I am in Vancouver right now. When I enter the sim card, it locked my iPhone. Is there any way to solve this? Thank you

Inserting a SIM card does not lock a phone.
If the device is carrier locked, the only way to unlock it is to contact the carrier to whom it is locked.

  • Does not appear lock option to cover the ipad2 with operational 5.01

Does not appear lock option to cover the ipad2 with operational 5.01

Did this with Adobe support in LIVE CHAT, what a waist of time.  Although this will correct the issue, it is like a work around and not solving why EDIT IN PHOTOSHOP... is not a clickable option (greyed out) in LR.
After the configure as suggested above, does this preclude and editing in Lighroom?
What I want to do is:
Edit the photo in LR except for:
the useage the great Spot Healing Brush Tool that PSE offers, edit that part of it in PSE then SAVE the results back to LR.  Any problems or suggestions for this?
    Thanks so much

Go to an Apple Store or you're wireless carrier store to have them properly remove the SIM card.

  • The Nano-SIM slot in iPad Air cannot working

I have iPad Air (WiFi + Cellular) since a year ago. Its capacity is 32 GB (26.6 GB net) and its iOS version is 8.1.3. I didn't have any problems recently, but its Nano-SIM slot is damaged and cannot be used anymore. It happened when I put my iPad on a bed, then it got bounced and fell to the floor. Luckily, the battery is in good condition and able to be recharged. Its WiFi, apps, and other components can be used as usual.

It sounds as if what you have is an iPad 2 WiFi+3G from Verizon. It will have no SIM slot and will only work on CDMA networks (for all practical purposes, only on Verizon's CDMA network).

  • My sim tray is locked, and whenever I put the sim eject tool in the hole beside it, it will not open, what should i do?

My sim tray is locked, and whenever I put the sim eject tool in the hole beside it, it will not open, what should i do?

Use a small thin piece of plastic (metal tools are likely to scratch the case)  and work along the seams of the tray. In all likelihood your tool is unlocking it but the tray itself is a bit gummed up, jammed.  Be patient, don't force things, and you'll probably get it open in short order.

  • NOKIA E75 usb cover problem for me

    Hello,
I can't seem to know how to open the usb cover to connect the data cable.I mean I NEARLY BOKE MY PREVIOUS PHONE N85s cover as in the E75 case I don't know from where to pull the cover as it is not written in the user guide and I don't want to take chances as after my past experience I am very suspicious.I know it is a silly inquiry but if someone can help me I reaaly would appreciate it. if a link or pic to show how please. Thanks

I am having the exact same issue.
The Ovi store was installed first via the N8 built in software, then uninstalled and reinstalled using the latest Ovi version from Nokia's webinstaller download, but still no success with the Ovi connection.
The other file transfer modes work fine 'media transfer & 'mass storage'  but the Ovi store is still unable to run due to Windows VISTA not being able to locate the drivers for the N8 software. (despite being installed!)
After accepting the prompt for Windows to locate the drivers... The same error as RayMond_021 screen shot appears.
    "COMPUTER SAYS.... NO!"
Super frustrating! A brand new $800 phone and I can't even access the promised software (Ovi maps) that encouraged me to buy it!?
    PLEASE HELP US!!!!!
