SIM Slot.. what is it for?
I just bought a new ThinkPad T450s. There is a SIM card slot at the right. What exactly is it for? If I pop in a SIM card, will I be able to use my laptop with it.. without Wifi?

If your laptop has wwan card (wwan modem 3g or 3g+LTE) installed, you'll get mobile broadband internet access capabilities. If wwan modem isn't factory preinstalled, but laptop is "wwan ready" (i.e.has sim reader and internal wwan antennas), you can purchase and install Lenovo approved wwan cards for t450s yourself.
WWAN acces capabilities don't relate to wifi, both network adapters can work simultaneously.
To specify exact configuration you should provide laptop MTM (Machine-Type-Model).

The thing is i know that in the US Ipad 2 Wi-Fi+3G Verizon goes without any slot for micro-sim. So i won`t be able to use 3g abroad.

No, if it doesn't have a sim slot. However, the model number you posted is for a Verizon iPhone 4S. That model does have a sim slot, & if Verizon unlocks the sim slot, it can be used on GSM networks outside of the US.

You need to return the phone and get a refund because you won't be able to use it without a sim card slot.
Probably not a fake, because some US iPhones, depending on what comapny they were from and what model do not come with sim card slots, as they don't need them and if you are not planning on using the phone in the US, then you won't be able to use it without a sim card slot.
The seller really should have made potential buyers aware of this, so I would return the phone for a full refund and then go and buy another iPhone form a reputable source, such as directly from an Apple store or a local phone comapny. -
I've just bought an ipad2 : WIFI 3G (from a Verizon store in the US) to use in another country but at my surprise there was no slot to insert the micro SIM ! Can anyone help me with this ?
Only posting because I think some clarification is needed. What they are both getting at is three models were made for the iPad2.
Wifi only:
Has an all metal back and can only get access from wifi hotspots.
AT&T:
This model has a little black plastic strip on the back at the top for better antenna signal strength. It also has a sim card because it uses a technology that requires sims. This slot is located on the side towards the top.
Verizon:
This model also has the black plastic bit but it lacks the sim slot because Verizons technology doesn't need sims.
Both the AT&T and the Verizon model are locked to their respective carriers, so to answer your question, yes you have to use verizon for any 3G access, (you can add a contractless plan from the iPad itself in the settings). This also means that even if you had an AT&T iPad you would have to use an AT&T sim. There are ways around this with the AT&T model, though they usually involve messing with the firmware by jailbreaking. -

The ICCID is the SIM Card number, it is the unique number of the SIM Card. If you have a new SIM Card, this is the number you give to or say to the Carrier to have the SIM Card activated so you can use the cell service of your iPhone with this new SIM Card. At that moment your phone number will be linked to this SIM Card for telephone purposes. Otherwise the number is not important. Also once the number on the SIM Card is activated by a Carrier, it can never be activted again. So once deactivated you cannot use that SIM Card for cell service again.

Brule01, welcome to the forum.
There are two main things to consider when adding / upgrading a video card: 1) the wattage required to run it properly and 2) the length of the card.
Most newer mid-level video cards require at least 400W to operate properly. The power supply unit (PSU) in the computer is 300W. Therefore, to add a discrete video card will require a PSU upgrade, as well. A card that will work with the existing 300W PSU will not be much, if any, better than the Integrated Video. I recommend at least 500W (600W would be good for future upgrades). I like OCZ and Corsair PSU's. They are very good quality.
The video card has to be PCI Express x16 and it can be a double card. The double cards only use one slot, but because of the width they may cover a second slot making it unavailable. This is normally not a problem for most users. Your computer case is mid-size. Therefore, I recommend a card that is no longer than 9". This will assure that it fits into the space provided. You can choose a card and get the measurements. Then, you can make a cardboard template of it to see if it will fit. You should add 1" to the template if the card has additional power connector/s. I like XFX, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY cards in that order. This comes from spending many years on enthusist / gaming forums.

My dad & I both have iPhone 5s. He no longer uses his & my screen is cracked. If I switch our SIM cards, what data will be lost? It is important for me to save/transfer all photos, video, & *especially* all text messages. When the SIM cards are swapped between phones, will any of these things be lost/deleted?

iPhone do not store anything on the sim.
Photos should be saved on computer like any other digital camera.
You can restore the backup for your dad as well as for yourself while swapping phones. -

View Solution.laptop don't support sim card directly the only thing you can do now is to buy a usb data card /dongle insert sim in it and then connect it to your laptop define the access point name and get connected to the internet usb data card are mainly of 4 variants 7.2Mbps 14.6Mbps 21.2MBps and 4G modems you can find them in local market cost should be around 700-1.4k for 3g modems or you can buy them online through amazone,ebay,flipkart and i would recommend shopclue as i got a 21.2MBps modem for 1.1k

That's usually a symptom of a phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it.
