SIMBL Error - Safari Stand Plugin

Hi, I'm getting this error below when I open Safari. I don't think it affects performance but I'd like to see if I could fix it.  I had this when running Mavericks and still have it now after upgrading to Yosemite.
Hope you guys can help.

Uninstall "SIMBL" or "EasySIMBL" as follows. Back up all data before making any changes.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
/Library
In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V, then press return. A folder will open. From that folder, delete the items listed below (some may be absent.) You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
          Application Support/SIMBL
          InputManagers/SIMBL
          LaunchAgents/net.culater.SIMBL.Agent.plist
          LaunchAgents/net.infinite-labs.SIMBLEnablerForSandboxedApps.plist
          ScriptingAdditions/EasySIMBL.osax
          ScriptingAdditions/SIMBL.osax
Log out and log back in. There may also be an item named "EasySIMBL" in the Applications folder. Delete it, if so.
Make sure you never reinstall any variant of SIMBL. It’s likely to come bundled with another third-party system modfication that depends on it. If you want trouble-free computing, avoid software that makes miraculous changes to other software, especially built-in applications. The only real exception to that rule is Safari extensions, which are mostly safe, and are easy to get rid of when they don’t work. SIMBL and its dependents are not Safari extensions.

  • SIMBL Error when opening Safari from the desk tray

I get a SIMBL Error when I open Safari from the desk tray. The error reads:
SIMBL Error: Safari 3.0.4 version 523.12 has not been tested with plugin PCB (null) (v19).
Any idea on the origin of this error? I have recently turned on parental controls -- could that have anything to do with the PCB plugin? Where do I see a list of installed Safari plugins?

The PCB error is related to a Parental Control Bar plug-in which is incompatible with the recently updated Safari
    http://www.parentalcontrolbar.org/
    To eliminate the error, ...
"This is probably installed under Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > SIMBL > Plugins > PCB.bundle. If you simply remove this, Safari should be happy. (If you installed it somewhere else, then just use Spotlight to find PCB.bundle.)" Taken from Apple Discussion Board, Topic : Safari 3.0.4: Plugin-not-loaded alert window
I have not re-installed the plug-in so cannot comment as to whether it is updated for Safari 3.04. Otherwise, error disappeared.

  • SIMBL error in Safari

I just upgraded to Leopard and am getting the following error notice when I launch Safari:
    SIMBL Error
Safari 3.0.4 (v5523.10) has not been tested with the plugin (null) (null) (v0.62). As a precaution, it has not been loaded. Please contact the plugin developer for further information.
I click OK then a Safari blank screen comes up - does not go to my default page although I have it set properly in my Safari preferences. If I then close out the screen and/or just open up another new Safari screen it then goes immediately to my default page and everything is fine.
Have verified disk utility permissions. Did not indicate there was anything to repair. Tried to find a SIMBLE plugin but nothing came up. I don't know what a SIMBL plugin is.
This is on a MacBook. I also loaded Leopard onto an iMac and didn't have this problem.
Thanks in advance for your help. Am having different issues on the iMac, but will research that later.

I think that you have AcidSearch 0.62 installed. A search on your hard drive for SIMBL will reveal the offending file; you can remove it. A newer version of AcidSearch is available (0.73) from <http://www.pozytron.com/> and it will install in a different location.

  • SIMBL Error Message

Yesterday I had WildBlue satellite high speed installed. Safari worked fine except my home page was changed. After living with dial-up for years, decided to use Software Update with the highspeed. After updating Backup, QuickTime, Compatibility Update for QuickTime, iTunes and Mac OSX Update, Safari would not open to a web page. I get a SIMBL Error message-"Safari 3.0.4 (v523.12) has not been tested with the plugin (null)(null)(v0.62)" I am able to use bookmarks or enter a web page location, but would like it to automatically go to a home page when I open Safari. Can anyone tell me how to figure out which plugin is causing the problem, and how to get rid of it? Yesterday was such a big day for my little mac, that I have no idea what is causing the problem. Like I said, it seemed to work OK until I performed the software updates. Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
That mysterious plug-in ((null)(null)(v0.62)) is Acid Search.
This is probably installed under Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > SIMBL > Plugins > AcidSearch.bundle. If you simply remove this, Safari should be happy. (If you installed it somewhere else, then just use Spotlight to find AcidSearch.bundle.)
There is a new BETA version (0.7b3) of Acid Search from www.pozytron.com that avoids this error message. However, it still has bugs. For example, if you right-click (secondary button) on the URL box, it will crash Safari.
I hope a working version of Acid Search is available soon for Safari 3. I'm not a Google fan.
You should be able to set your homepage under Safari > Preferences > General. Although maybe it was just the Acid Search error that was preventing this from loading?

  • Error Message "No plugins are installed"

    Hi
I have download Oracle Migration Workbench 10.1.0.4 and unzipped
I need to migrate from DB2 8.2 to Oracle 9i
When i am trying to create database repository getting error message "No plugins are installed, please install the plugin for the database you are trying to migrate." and creating respository.
I have followed the steps as per Oracle Migration Workbench guide.

Some one please help. I need to compelete the test task by monday.

OMWB consists of 2 parts, the common files and a plugin. The message you get commonly means you didn't download a plugin.
Under certain circumstances the Internet Explorer is sometimes saving JAR files with the ZIP extension and thus OMWB can't handle it as well.
But anyway, you try to migrate a DB2 database V8 to Oracle using OMWB. There is no plugin available to use OMWB with Db2 V8.
So you need to choose a different method like a gateway or flat files and SQL*Loader to move the data to Oracle.

  • Getting error: Safari can't download file intermittently

I purchased an Ipad (original) for my father in law and it will sometimes give an error ' Safari can not download file' and it will not go to any website. Weatherbug won't connect. Any app that connects to the internet does the same thing. Connecting to the internet thru airport express connected to a dsl modem. Other windows based machine connected to the internet fine. Ideas?

To add a ringtone, download it from your computer and make sure it is a .m4r file. Once this is done, add it to your iTunes library (it will go in the ringtones section). Then sync your phone making sure that it syncs ringtones as well (check it in the ringtones tab).
Then in your sound preferences on your iPhone change the ringtone.

Do Not Delete program files that have been installed with an installer. BAD idea. Use the uninstaller. If you have already made the mistake or the uninstaller will not work use the Adobe Cleaner Tool then re-install from the latest build.
Carefully follow the instructions here: Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6

Try opening iTunes while holding down the option key. When you get a dialog box with "create a new library" or "choose a library", select the choose option and navigate to the library on your external HD.
BTW: If your external HD is not powered on and mounted before opening itunes, iTunes will create a new blank library.

  • How do I fix the error,  "Safari quit unexpectedly", when trying to start Safari?

This error "Safari quit unexpectedly" suddenly started occuring on my MacBook Air when starting Safari.  I created a new user and it occurs with it, too.  Safari starts in safe mode with both users.

There is no need to download anything to solve this problem.
If Safari crashes on launch and you don't have another web browser, you should be able to launch Safari by starting up in safe mode.
You may have installed the "Genieo" or "InstallMac" ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Besides the files listed in the linked support article, you may also need to remove this file in the same way:
    ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.ltvbit.plist
If there are other items with a name that includes "Genieo" or "genieo" alongside any of those you find, remove them as well.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those.
After removing the malware, remember to reset your home page in all the web browsers affected, if it was changed.
If you don't find any of the files or extensions listed, or if removing them doesn't stop the ad injection, then you may have one of the other kinds of adware covered by the support article. Follow the rest of the instructions in the article.
Make sure you don't repeat the mistake that led you to install the malware. Chances are you got it from an Internet cesspit such as "Softonic" or "CNET Download." Never visit either of those sites again. You might also have downloaded it from an ad in a page on some other site. The ad would probably have included a large green button labeled "Download" or "Download Now" in white letters. The button is designed to confuse people who intend to download something else on the same page. If you ever download a file that isn't obviously what you expected, delete it immediately.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere  should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
    or
Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
    if it's not already checked.
