Simple A2 Question: Removing pre-filled fields

Greetings -
I know there's likely a simple answer for this one, but I can't seem to find it.
When entering metadata in the import dialogue, some fields are filled in when I type a few characters. But there are cases where I'd like to remove an entry that I USED to use, leaving only one possible entry. For e.g., in Copyright I used to have "© 2009 R...", but now want only the "© 2010 R..." entry.
How do I delete the first, older entry?
Thanks!
Rob

Gocuk2 --
Thanks for the reply. At first, it didn't seem to address the question, but it DID lead me to the answer, so thank you very much!
This really had nothing to do with keywords, but in taking a look, I found a menu entry in the Metadata menu for "Edit Autofill List." I don't know why I didn't see that before.
The problem had to do with the fact that, with multiple entries, I had to type a number of different characters before finding the list entry that I wanted to use. Now that I've weeded out the unwanted entries for, say, Copyright, a single character will bring up the one entry that I want to use.
Thanks again,
Rob

  • Possible to use JavaScript to Import Data from XML file to pre-fill fields?

    Hi,
    I have a dynamic fill-in PDF that I want to "pre-fill" internally in my company before sending out to users who will change any pre-filled fields necessary and answer questions we did not already answer.
    We do not have LiveCycle Reader Extensions, but we can use Acrobat to import data from an XML document to pre-fill the named fields.  Is it possibly to do this task using folder-level Javascript or some other method?  I can look into this, and post my findings, but I'd like to know if it's possible or if I need to use a different programming language.

    Hi,
    I am afraid that solution was for a specific client and I can't share it. If I get a chance I will mock up an example, but this wont be for a while. From memory it was just a straight importData method. This would normally fail silently in a non-certified form, but when the form is digitally signed/certified, it works without a hitch.
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • The pre filled fields from downloaded pdf forms are blank; e.g.; prefilled pdf forms from insurance companies.

    I download pre filled pdf claim forms from the web site of my insurance company. The fields are not pre filled with my personnal data ( name, address, etc) like it is supposed to. Furthermore, I cannot even type my own data in the blank fields. All of this works all right with another browser.

    The new built-in PDF viewer does not have the capability to do fill-in forms. Development is still underway on enhancements to the PDF viewer.
    In the meantime, you will need a PDF application that can do fill-in forms (Adobe Reader and Foxit Reader are 2 free PDF applications that can fill-in PDF forms).
    *You have Adobe Reader 9.3.4 installed, but it is a very old version and needs to be updated due to security issues.
    *Check your Plugins - https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

    You can change Firefox settings to use another application's plugin to fill-in forms in Firefox instead of using the built-in PDF viewer as a default. Here's how to do that - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/disable-built-pdf-viewer-and-use-another-viewer

  • Removing pre filled responses in text field

    New to livecycle and I am creating a new form and have been simultaneously testing it. When i am entering information in a text field all of the information I have entering pre populates and I'm worried the end user will see this. I cant seem to remove this and ots vey distracting. How do I clear this?

    Hi,
    Can you describe further what do you mean by prepopulates when you enter info? Do you mean an auto-completion like pre-population? Or does the field get prepopulated BEFORE you key in any values in the text field? Or do you mean the text field ignores what is being typed in, and pre-populates with a default value?

  • How to create a button on a form that automatically creates a new page or form with pre-filled field

    I'm trying to create an advanced workorder for my company.  In short, I need to have a summary page that includes pertinent contact and matter information but then have the users have the ability to essentially click a button and have it auto-generate and populate certain information in a new form (or page).  In this instance, it's trying to take summary form and then allow it to expand to an additional 5 forms, but not necessarily always have all the unecessary details or modules if not applicable for that job.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thank for reply.
    The computers are in different locations, but yes it's possible, the users in this enviroment are all local administrator of the machines, and we can distribute the script centrally from the DC automatically
    Acrobat use Java, right? I'm not so expert in java, but something about it could not be so difficult to manage.
    Do you know some place where i can get some info about JS and acrobat?

  • Query form when field pre-filled - How?

    Greetings:
    I am going to use a single form for creating, modifying, and deleting records as such functionality is available from a form created (table based) using Portal's form wizard.
    I am attempting to pre-fill one of the fields on the form (it tells me where the form was called from) for use when inserting a record. However, if I perform a query instead, I get no results as the pre-filled field is used in building the query. What I want to do then, is save-off the pre-filled value to a local variable upon the form being created; then, perform a RESET on the form to allow for querying. I'm not having success saving-off this pre-filled value to a variable.
    Question 1: What function call and where should I place it, to save-off this pre-filled form value (Additional PL/SQL tab section)?
    Question 2: How to perform a Reset action on the form after saving-off the pre-filled value?
    Many thanks for any ideas and guidance.

    Greetings:
    I've put this code in the QUERY_TOP button's SQL BUTTON EVENT HANDLER (for Query), as I have the Loc_Code field pre-filled with a value (hard-coded from the calling page):
    DECLARE
    v_Loc_Code varchar2(15) := NULL;
    BEGIN
    p_session.set_value(
    p_block_name => 'DEFAULT',
    p_attribute_name => 'A_LOC_CODE',
    p_value => v_Loc_Code);
    doQuery;
    END;
    I'm attempting to clear-out this field if I query; however, querying still does not return anything.
    Am I doing this in the correct place? Is this field really getting a NULL value now?
    Thanks for any and all guidance.

  • I have 2 different accounts at the same websites. Whenever I go to that website, one of my usernames prefills the UN field and I can't access the other account. I cannot overwrite my pre-filled username. Ideas?

    I have 2 different accounts at the same websites. Whenever I go to that website, one of my two user names (always the same one) pre-fills the user-name field and I can't access the other account. The website rightfully rejects my password. I cannot overwrite my pre-filled user-name because the second I hit enter to logon, the original user-name rewrites itself into it's field. Neither of the user names is being saved by firefox anywhere in the "tools"; Options, security, advanced or privacy menu fields.
    I did notice that that website has installed a cookie onto my computer called "_rememberme" which contains the user-name that is plaguing me.
    This is a website that I access for very sensitive and important information and I must have both accounts accessible at different times.
    Thanks, Joshua

    You need to clear that remember me cookie and make sure that you remove a check mark to remember you on that website.

    You can disable the automatic fill of a name and password.

    To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Can I pre-fill the answer to a specific question? i.e. customer number for a customer questionnaire.

    I am building a customer questionnaire for our existing customers and, on the first page, have fields to type in the customer name and number (a unique number we assign to each customer.)
    I would prefer to specify these myself when I send out the questionairre in case the customer doesn't know their customer number.  Theoretically, this would work with a query string or something similar so that each customer would get a unique URL to the form (i.e. formcentral.acrobat.com/myquestionnaire.html?custId=1234).
    I'm intending to track and graph all of my results and don't want multiple submissions from the same customer to skew the findings.  I'm also setting up some mecahnisms to get back in touch with customers who fill out the questionnaire and answer any questions or concerns they expressed with it, which I obviously wouldn't be able to do if they didn't specify adequate identifying informaiton.

    Hi,
    Currently we do not have a feature that allows you pre-fill in customer response data, or a way to prevent multiple submissions.  Preventing multiple submissions is something that is requested frequently, and we are looking at for a future release.  We do look to the ideas section to help guide us on what features we work on next.  I suggest you add your idea about pre-filling in customer resposne data to the ideas section, and also voting for the preventing of multiple responses idea.

  • How to reduce the pdf version & how to remove all the pre-delivered field from a pdf file.

    Hi Team,
    1) Please help me to reduce the version of a pdf file which is v1.7 as my BI Publisher support only pdf version  upto Version1.5.
    2)This pdf file 1.7 contains some pre-delivered fields, i want to remove all the pre-delivered fields. Please suggest.
    PFA link:-
    http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-539.pdf
    Please guide to remove the pre-delivered fields from this pdf & how to reduce the version.

    A lot depends on what you want to do with the file. The encryption has limited most options on the form. If you are wanting to simply post a view of the form, then you might try a screen capture. Of course there is always the question of what you want to do with the form and any legal aspects related to that use. Other than answering potential legal questions of your use, we might be able to help more if we were aware of the desired use. At the moment, the screen capture is my only suggestion. There may be other work arounds, but probably not appropriate for discussion on this forum.
    If you are wanting the form for publication as an example in some document, I would strongly suggest you contact the gov't agency and discuss your intent and try to get a version you can use with their approval. Overall, that is the cleanest way to do whatever you are after for a legit purpose. Even a graphic version should have the permission of the government agency.

  • Removing spaces in field

    Sorry for asking a very simple (hopefully) question.  Does anyone know how can remove spaces from a given field.  One of my field has the following:
    field1 = '      ABCD'.
    What command should I use so field1 would end up with just 'ABCD'?
    Thanks.

    Hi SS
    General templates for doing such operations on strings:
    SHIFT <c> LEFT DELETING LEADING <str>.
    SHIFT <c> RIGHT DELETING TRAILING <str>.
    where str can be SPACE or something like e.g: 'abc'

  • Add suffix to Project names?  Pre-fill Project description?

    Hi. I'm still working on my Ap3 workflow. Either of the actions in the subject would be most helpful:
    • *Add suffix to Project names*. I have 144 Projects I would like to rename by adding a few words to the end of their current names.
    • *Pre-fill Project Description*. The Project Description field can be found on the Project Information HUD ({Shift}+i with a Project selected). I would like to have all new Projects start with a default Project description. This could be put in from the import panel.
    I could alternatively make use of being able to append text to the Project Description field.
    Thanks.

    Hi Dave,
    When dealing with dropdowns the best event to use is the preOpen event. This means that there wouldn't be any script in the first dropdown.
    Then in the second dropdown you would have a relative simple script that would look back at the user's selection in the first dropdown and then populate the display items in the second dropdown.
    See examples here:
    http://assure.ly/jcTahK
    http://assure.ly/gcXx03
    http://assure.ly/fYCuQ2
    When adding an item to a dropdown, you can specify both the display item (what the user's sees) and the bound value (the value of the dropdown that is associated with the user's selection).
    So,
    this.additem("Clonmel", "(052) 1234567");
    This would add a city "Clonmel" to the dropdown and the value of the dropdown would be "(052) 1234567", if the user selected Clonmel.
    The textfield can then be given the same name as the dropdown and its binding set to Global (see the object > Binding palette when the textfield is selected).
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Pre-fill the filename in Fileupload UI

    Hi,
    I am unable to pre-fill the filename in fileupoad UI.
    When I launch the WD app, on the browser it get the following URL
    http://devai063.private.xxxx.com:8081/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zgi_file_upload?sap-language=EN
    at the end I add &filename=c:benefit.txt and hit enter,
    http://devai063.private.xxxx.com:8081/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/zgi_file_upload?sap-language=EN&filename=c:benefit.txt
    In WD window HANDLEDEFAULT method I am checking for the filename parameter if not empty I am setting the 'filename'  to the context of filename of fileuploadUI, but the app does not show the file name C:
    benefit.txt in the fileupload UI.
    I debugged the HANDLEDEFAULT and I can see the filename but somehow it is not setting to the filname for uploadfile UI.
    any advice is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    From the online help:
    Technical Browser Details Beyond the Control of WDA
    Due to browser restrictions that are unrelated to Web Dynpro ABAP, the previously entered data path might disappear when a FileUpload UI element is clicked. In newer versions of the browser, it is therefore impossible to enter the file name in the entry field. The field always remains empty. The selection of the file name is therefore only possible in new browser versions using the Browse... button. You cannot enter the file name manually (using the keyboard or the Copy and Paste functions) or by setting the file name from the back end (directly or using context binding). For more details, read the security-related information in Internet Explorer 6 about handling <input type=file>.

  • Combining PDFs that have identical user-filled fields in them

    I already have a more specific question about this process posted elsewhere here, but I want to back-up a bit and ask this higher-level question.
    We have an annual event that requires us to create a number of different PDFs, by category, that have user-filled fields in them. Of course we create these forms and create the user fields. We then send these out, then get them back from multiple users who have completed them. We now want to combine all of these submitted PDFs into a single PDF or portfolio (whatever works!). From what I've read so far on this, the problem we have with combining all these into one document comes from the fact that all these completed forms come back to us, completed by their users -- but since many fields all have the same names (which we of course assigned originally) in the completed PDFs that come back to us, Acrobat seems to read all the fields that have the same field name and override all the entered data in those fields with the user-entered data in only one of them (I assume the first on it comes across). Is that correct? If so, what's a logical work-around for this? Sending out PDFs to each user that have field names that are unique to that user only? That seems kind of archaic, but maybe that's it... Although I'm also guessing that someone will suggest a javascript code to use in our files that may resolve this problem. I can copy and paste code, but I'[m no javascripter, so I'd need to know exactly how to do it... Any ideas? Thank you!   - Sean

    For Acrobat PDFs, you will need to flatten each form before concatenation. Merging multiple forms together is called concatenation. Warning: Flattening the form fields will make the PDF fields unreadable and unfillable; and it would be wise to save the merged or flattened document under a different file name. There are Visual Studio .net and JAVA developer libraries that can perform these tasks; but you will need programming experience or hire a developer.

  • JSF 2.0: InputText element of type Integer have become pre-filled with '0'

    Hello to all!
    I have invested a lot of time, but unfortunately without success. I hope intensely that somebody of you can help me!
    I have an inputText element of type Integer, which pre-filled my input field with a '0' when I'm loading/starting my form.
    When I'm loading my form for the first time I would like to have an empty field and not a field, which is pre-filled with a '0'.
    Is this possible?
    I have some code:
    <h:inputText id="field" value="#{customerBean.field}" converter="javax.faces.Integer" validator="#{validatorBean.validateField}" />
    @ManagedBean(name = "customerBean")
    public class Customer
       private int field;
       public int getfield()
          return field;
       public void setfield(int field)
          this.field = field;
    @ManagedBean(name = "validatorBean")
    public class Validator
      public void validateField(FacesContext ctx, UIComponent comp, Object inValue) throws ValidatorException
         int value = (Integer) inValue;
         if (!(value >= 0 && value <= 100) && !(value == -9))
            throw new ValidatorException(new FacesMessage("Illegal entry! Legal values are: '0' to '400', '-9'.", null));
    }Thanks for helping!

    Hello!
    With "private Integer field" it works.
    I did not know that for any primitive data type it exists a corresponding object data type.
    Now I know. :-)
    Thanks for helping.

    Can anyone help me answer my qn?

    Just access the total textfield and make it visible = false;
    oForm.Items.Item("29").Visible = false; //The field
    oForm.Items.Item("30").Visible = false; //The label
    If that doesn't work try setting the left property to something that will never come into view no matter how large you make the window... Something like this
    oForm.Items.Item("29").Left = 5000; //The field
    oForm.Items.Item("30").Visible = 5000; //The label
