Simple basic question on attribute data load for Master Data InfoObject....

I am a bit confused & wanted to have some clarification on the following:
1) For loading Attributes data to Master Data InfoObject, we load it through Data Source of Type Master Data Attribute.
But what i did, i created Data Source of type Transaction data and using the same Excel file, i was able to create transformation with Matser data Attribute and was able to load the data.
This shows i can use Data source of type either master data attribute OR Transaction Data doen't matter while loading into master data attribute. IS THIS TRUE?
2) I have 2 master data infoobjects (Test1 & Test2). I made Test2 as an attribute in Test1.
My question is while loading Master data for Test1, will it also load the data into Test2 if it doen't find respective data in Test2?
(i did all the transformation as per need.)

HI Harpal,
1. Did you make a transformation between attribute data source from source system other than flat file and DSO?...
I think PC File is flexible in this aspect..
2.While loading Test1 the infoobject Test2 will get loaded only if it is a navigational ttribute..(You can see this by refering the SID Table)
Please also note that it does not load Test2 attributes.

About delta loading for master data attribute

Hi all,
We have a master data attribute loading failed which is a delta loading. I have to fix this problem but I have two questions:
1. how can I find the those delta requests because I need to delete all these failed requests first, am I right ? Master data is not like cube or ods that we can find the requests in Manage, for master data how can we find them ?
2. Could you please let me know the detailed procedures to perform this delta loading again ?

Look.....for master data.....no need to delete request from the target..........just make the status red.......and repeat the load.....But problem is that master data sometimes does'nt support Repeat delta..........if u repeat......then load will again fail with Update mode R.........in that case u hav to do re-init.......
1) delete the init flag.......(In the IP scheduler >> in the top Scheduler tab >> Initialization option for source system)
2) Init with data transfer(if failed load picks some records)..........otherwise .....init without data transfer.....if the last delta failed picking 0 records.......
3) then Delta.......

Data loads for the copied Infoobject?

Dear Bwers,
We have a need to make modifications to a standard content infoobject 0MATL_GROUP and chose to copy it (ZMATL_GRP) and make the changes to the copied infoobject.
How do i load this new infoobject with data? Do i create a export datasource from 0MATL_GROUP and use it or with the new infoobject ZMATL_GRP or is there any other way to do the daily master data loads to this new infoobject? Please give your thoughts on this.

You have few other options.
If you are in 7.0, you can use DTP.
If you are in older versions, then:
1. Make the -MATL_GRP as a data target and load from that ti your Z object.
OR
2. Bring the data of matl_grp to an ODS and include all your new attributes and from the ODS you can load to both 0matl_grp and to Z object. While doing so, you can set no update for the attribute that you dont want in 0matl_grp.
I will prefer the first approach.

Data not loading for new Fields InfoObjects from DSO to InfoCube

Hi Gurus -
               I have a DataSource that is providing data to existing DSO then to Infocube. My client asked me to added couple fields to DataSource and get the data to DSO and then DSO to InfoCube.
Here is the Old scenarion:   DataSource -> DSO -> InfoCube.
Here is the New Scenation:
     DataSource ( Added new fields) -> DSO (added new InfoObjects for Corresponding DataSource FIelds) -> InfoCube( Added new InfoObjects to mapped from DSO)
I added the new fields to DataSource, added the corresponding InfoObjects to DSO and InfoCube.
I successfully loaded data from DataSource to DSO. Data is populating for the new Fields/InfoObjects in DSO.
But when I load data from DSO to InfoCube, I don't see any data for New Fields InfoObjects in the InfoCube.
Data from DSO to InfoCube is loading fine for the Old InfoObjects Fields but not for the New InfoObjects I added in InfoCube.

Hi,
Why dont u debug the load through DTP debugging and check what happens to the source field and target field once it passes through the transformation. You can easily trace back where the fields are becoming blank.
The loads which you have mentioned earlier did it have values in Added Records/Transferred Records column for the cube.

XML data load for master data

All,
Is it possible to load master data using XML datasource. If yes how. We are already using XML load for the transactional data. When we try for the Master data the option "create BW datasource with SOAP connection" is greyed out.

Dear All,
I have got the delta loading into 0customer_attr and 0 material_attr in production. Yesterday the load failed because the previous change run run has been terminated and locked the attributes of characterstics 0 material and 0customer.
To solve this i went back and ran the attribute change run and all the locks got released.
Now i know that i need to repaeat the delta load.
If we go to the RSMO for the failed load i see that under details tab in processin option we have as follows
Transfer rules(67-->67 records):No errors(This is Green)
   Master data received:Processing being started(Green)
   Transfer 67 data records in communication structure(Green)
This is where the processing stopped.
Update(0new/0changed)(in red): Errors occured
My doubt is if i now repeat the load in process chain will the 67 records come into the0customer infoobject.
Will this have any impact on the next day delta load.
Kindly advice.

When i tried to do a repeat delta the load failed again and when i check for the error message i get the following
Diagnosis
    The application program for the extraction of the data was called using
    update mode R . However, this is not supported by the InfoSource.
System Response
    The data extraction is terminated.
Procedure
    Check for relevant OSS Notes, or send a problem message of your own.
Procedure for System Administration
How do i proceed further.

Initial Load for Master Data from R/3 to CRM

Hi Middleware Experts,
I have an ambiguity on initial load of enhanced master data from R/3 to CRM. The current situation is
1)I have already enhanced master data on R/3 side with some additional fields. Now shall i go ahead with standard intial load of these Master data to CRM without creating middleware interfaces to map those enhanced fields on CRM side?
2)Also after doing initial load from R/3 to CRM, if I develop middleware interfaces for mapping these new fields of master data and then again do the initial load, so that new fields also get mapped, will the initial load be done properly as i have already done it once? will it overwrite the previous initial load data on CRM side properly?
Please suggest whether it can be done or not and which is the better option.

Hi Rahul,
Since you have not done the mapping yet the middleware will not bring those fields to CRM it will work just like a standard initial load without considering the enhanced master data field.
When you develop the middleware interface and enhance the CRM data structure also and then you can see the exchange of those fields through MW. You can start the intial load at that time also its not that you can do the initial load just once. But the better option would be that you avoid doing initial load several times because its time consuming activity. You do all the enhancement and then finally perform the initaial load.

Basic Question, White box while loading

I am sort of a newb at flash. I have an animation for a site I am working on, When it first loads the viewer sees a white box before the animation. What do I do to eliminate that problem?

I think that is the answer. I tried it in a browser I had not been using so I believe the cache was clear and I did not get that white box. If you would I would appreciate it if you could try it to to make sure it is fixed.

Data load for a particuler infoobject.

Hi All,
I have a ODS which is giving data to above 3 ODS as delta, now I have enhanced an infobjects in the below ODS.
So I need a full update on the below ODS, is there any way through which we can do a full update only for that particular infobjects?

Why is this correct without Button as the first word. And incorrect with?
I feel that I almost understand why. But if someone could enlighten me some further than I've laid another basic foundation stone of understanding.

Simple basic question

ok so im not at home to give you the specs on everything but i dont expect a real detailed answer. Basically i have a Airpot extreme at home hooked up to a PC upstairs . the internet is working on the pc upstiars. i see the network on my mac mini downstairs . when i click on it ,a menu pops up with a password field. Now my buddy was the one that sold me the airport. Is the password there asking for ,one that he created within Airport or is it something from the pc upstairs. If so how would i obtain to reset the password or create a network within airport..thanks

Basic question regarding Contract data exchange between CRM and ERP

Hi,
1) At a very general level, can somebody tell me via what technology are contract documents exchanged between CRM and ERP? IDocs, RFC modules or proxies?
2) Is it possible to sychronise changes in a contract, e.g. if the contract is changes in the ERP system, those changes are auotomatically updated in the CRM contract?
3) Can somebody point me to any documentation on this?

contracts are exchanged between CRM ans ERP ssytem ny RFC and FM , you use object SALESCONTRACT for this,it is possible to synchronize changes between both the systems

2. Installation Non Volatile Memory Size (in bytes)
3. Installation Volatile Memory Size (in bytes)
as default is the value 00 00 what I have to put in there?
In the Help File I could find following description:

Basic questions about Infocube

Hi, everyone.
I got very basic questions about infocube data handling.
With infopackage, I extracted all the data about employees from R/3.
But there were some mistakes during inputting employee data, like positions,
so I just extracted those employees data once more.
Now I have two requests in infocube, where the first one has some wrong data.
Is there any solutions about this?
I might got it all wrong, so as beginner, any suggestions and explanations will
be grateful.

Hi,
You can manually delete the earlier request by going in the Manage option of the cube. select the request and click on delete icon at the bottom.
Other option is to make setting in the Infopackage to delete similar or overlapping request.
Data target tab --> 6th column Automatic loading / deletion of similar request. --> click on the blank icon --> you will get a pop-up --> select the radio button - "delete existing request" --> Select Conditions --> Infosource are same, datasource are same and source system are same, --> selections are "Same or More Comprehensive "

Delta load for 0customer

Hi Friends,
I have a issue in delta load for 0customer. The load was initialized with data transfer for the first time load ,The data was loaded succesfully , now we have enhaced the 0customer_attr with customer group .In RSA3 if we check we are getting values for customer group. we created one delta infopackage with update status as delta and scheduled the load .we are getting data load success status but with 0 records. Please can anybody share the process for delta load for master data objects. Iam facing similar problem while uploading delta load for 0MATERIAL.

in source system, check whether your enhanced field is with hide check box ticked.
As soon as you add filed in append structure by default it is having that field is hidden. You have to uncheck it.
Then replicate the datasource in BW.
Now if delta is the issue that you are not getting ant record, that may be because there is no change in master data, delta will only bring records when there will be nay change in master data update.
So my suggestion is to crate a full repair infopackage, extract everything in to PSA and then load the data with FULL DTP.
