Simple Bundle file copy slow and inconsistent
We are running ZCM 11.2.3a and are experiencing slowness with some bundles.
We have a simple bundle to copy a small file to the workstation.
Sometimes the file copy is abnormally long and other times it's instant for the same bundle.
Any ideas why this would be happening.
Thanks
Try enabling Debug Logging and ZMD-Message logging to see if that helps.
Also -
Try setting up a test Location for a Device and only point that location
to Server1 for everything. Then Server 2.....
Look to see if one server is giving u issues.......

EA4500 speeds very slow and inconsistent
Purchased the EA4500 a few months ago. Worked fine for a week or two. Now my download speeds bounce between 2mbps-20mbps and its constantly stuttering. My modem gives me 100mbps when im wired in so I know for a fact that the modem is not the issue. I'm using both the 5ghz band and 2.4ghz band and both of them give me terrible results. The speed is so slow and fluxuates so often it's barely usuable. I've tried changing settings with the media prioitization, I've tried changing the MTU size, I've tried using different channels, I've tried rebooting the router, setting it back to factory settings and even tried using the classic firmware and that just locked me out of my router since the router login and password no longer worked (default and ones Ive set). I'm at a loss here and getting really fed up with this garbage router. Is there any fix for this? I've scoured the internet looking for an answer and all I've seen is other people problems never being fixed.
Yes, I'm currently using the most current firmware which is version 2.1.41.164606. I've tried all previous firmware versions and the speed is still very slow and inconsistent on every one. I've rebooted to factory twice now and tried changing channels, MTU sizes and channel width on both the 2.4 ghz and 5ghz networks. It worked fine for about a month and suddenly it barely works now. If anyone has a solution that would be great but If not I'll just get a netgear N750 when I have the money.

[Forum FAQ] Troubleshooting Network File Copy Slowness
1. Introduction
The Server Message Block (SMB) Protocol is a network file sharing protocol, and as implemented in Microsoft Windows is known as Microsoft SMB Protocol. The set of message packets that defines a particular version of the protocol is called a dialect. The Common
Internet File System (CIFS) Protocol is a dialect of SMB. Both SMB and CIFS are also available on VMS, several versions of Unix, and other operating systems.

SMB Versions and Negotiated Versions
- Thanks for the
Jose Barreto's Blog
There are several different versions of SMB used by Windows operating systems:
CIFS – The ancient version of SMB that was part of Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 in 1996. SMB1 supersedes this version.
SMB 1.0 (or SMB1) – The version used in Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2003 R2
SMB 2.0 (technically SMB2 version 2.002) – The version used in Windows Vista (SP1 or later) and Windows Server 2008 (or any SP)
SMB 2.1 ((technically SMB2 version 2.1) – The version used in Windows 7 (or any SP) and Windows Server 2008 R2 (or any SP)
SMB 3.0 (or SMB3) – The version used in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012
SMB 3.02 (or SMB3) – The version used in Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2
Windows NT is no longer supported, so CIFS is definitely out. Windows Server 2003 R2 with a current service pack is under Extended Support, so SMB1 is still around for a little while. SMB 2.x in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008
R2 are under Mainstream Support until 2015. You can find the most current information on the
support lifecycle page for Windows Server. The information is subject to the
Microsoft Policy Disclaimer and Change Notice. You can use the support pages to also find support policy information for Windows
XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
In Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2, we introduced the option to completely disable CIFS/SMB1 support, including the actual removal of the related binaries. While this is not the default configuration, we recommend disabling this older
version of the protocol in scenarios where it’s not useful, like Hyper-V over SMB. You can find details about this new option in item 7 of this blog post:

1.2 Check, Enable and Disable SMB Versions in Windows operating systems
In Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012 and later, there is a new PowerShell cmdlet that can easily tell you what version of SMB the client has negotiated with the File Server. You simply access a remote file server (or create a new mapping to it) and use Get-SmbConnection.
To enable and disable SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012, please follow the steps in the article below.
Warning: We do not recommend that you disable SMBv2 or SMBv3. Disable SMBv2 or SMBv3 only as a temporary troubleshooting measure. Do not leave SMBv2 or SMBv3 disabled.

1.4 Related Registry Keys
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MrxSmb\Parameters\
DeferredOpensEnabled – Indicates whether the Redirector can defer opens for certain cases where the file does not really need to be opened, such as for certain delete requests and adjusting file attributes.
This defaults to true and is stored in the Redirector variable MRxSmbDeferredOpensEnabled.
OplocksDisabled – Whether the Redirector should not request oplocks, this defaults to false (the Redirector will request oplocks) and is stored in the variable MrxSmbOplocksDisabled.
CscEnabled – Whether Client Side Caching is enabled. This value defaults to true and stored in MRxSmbIsCscEnabled. It is used to determine whether to execute CSC operations when called. If CSC is enabled,
several other parameters controlling CSC behavior are checked, such as CscEnabledDCON, CscEnableTransitionByDefault, and CscEnableAutoDial. CSC will be discussed in depth in its own module, so will be only mentioned in this module when it is necessary to understanding
the operation of the Redirector.
DisableShadowLoopback – Whether to disable the behavior of the Redirector getting a handle to loopback opens (opens on the same machine) so that it can shortcut the network path to the resource and
just access local files locally. Shadow opens are enabled by default, and this registry value can be used to turn them off. It is stored in the global Redirector variable RxSmbDisableShadowLoopback.
IgnoreBindingOrder – Controls whether the Redirector should use the binding order specified in the registry and controlled by the Network Connections UI, or ignore this order when choosing a transport
provider to provide a connection to the server. By default the Redirector will ignore the binding order and can use any transport. The results of this setting are stored in the variable MRxSmbObeyBindingOrder.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters\
Security Signature settings – The RequireSecuritySignature setting is stored in MRxSmbSecuritySignaturesRequired, EnableSecuritySignature in MRxSmbSecuritySignaturesEnabled, RequireExtendedSignature
in MRxSmbExtendedSignaturesRequired, and EnableExtendedSignature in MRxSmbExtendedSignaturesEnabled. Note that the Extended Security Signatures assume the regular security signatures are enabled, so those settings are adjusted if necessary based on the extended
settings. If extended signatures are required, regular signatures have to be required.
EnablePlainTextPassword – Support for using plain text passwords can be turned on using this key. They are disabled by default.
OffLineFileTimeoutIntervalInSeconds – Used to set the expiration time for timing out an Exchange (discussed later) when the exchange is accessing an offline file. This value defaults to 1000 seconds,
but can be changed in the registry and is stored in the global Redirector variable OffLineFileTimeoutInterval
SessTimeout – This is the amount of time the client waits for the server to respond to an outstanding request. The default value is 60 seconds (Windows Vista). When the client does not receive the
response to a request before the Request Expiration Timer expires, it will reset the connection because the operation is considered blocked. In Windows 8, the request expiration timer for the SMB 2 Negotiate is set to a smaller value, typically under 20 seconds,
so that if a node of a continuously available (CA) cluster server is not responding, the SMB 3.0 client can expedite failover to the other node.
ExtendedSessTimeout – Stored in the ExtendedSessTimeoutInterval variable, this value is used to extend the timeout on exchanges for servers that require an extended session timeout as listed in the
ServersWithExtendedSessTimeout key. These are third party servers that handle SMB sessions with different processes and vary dramatically on the time required to process SMB requests. The default value is 1000 seconds. If the client is running at least Windows
7 and ExtendedSessTimeout is not configured (By Default), the timeout is extended to four times the value of SessTimeout (4 * SessTimeout).
MaxNumOfExchangesForPipelineReadWrite – This value is used to determine the maximum number of write exchanges that can be pipelined to a server. The default is 8 and the value is stored in the variable
MaxNumOfExchangesForPipelineReadWrite.
Win9xSessionRestriction – This value defaults to false, but is used to impose a restriction on Windows 9x clients that they can only have one active non-NULL session with the server at a time. Also,
existing session based connections (VNETROOTS) are scavenged immediately, without a timeout to allow them to be reused.
EnableCachingOnWriteOnlyOpens – This value can cause the Redirector to attempt to open a file that is being opened for write only access in a manner that will enable the Redirector to cache the file
data. If the open fails, the request will revert back to the original requested access. The value of this parameter defaults to false and is stored in the MRxSmbEnableCachingOnWriteOnlyOpens variable.
DisableByteRangeLockingOnReadOnlyFiles – This parameter defaults to false, but if set to true will cause level II oplocks to automatically be upgraded to batch oplocks on read-only files opened for
read only access. It is stored in the variable DisableByteRangeLockingOnReadOnlyFiles.
EnableDownLevelLogOff – False by default, this value controls whether a Logoff SMB will be sent to down-level servers when a session is being closed. If this is false, and the server has not negotiated
to the NT SMB dialect or does not support NT Status codes, the logoff will not be sent because we aren’t sure that server will understand the request. The value is stored in MrxSmbEnableDownLevelLogOff.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\
ResilientTimeout – This timer is started when the transport connection associated with a resilient handle is lost. It controls the amount of time the server keeps a resilient handle active after the
transport connection to the client is lost. The default value is 300 seconds (Windows 7, Server 2008 R2, 8, Server 2012).
DurableHandleV2TimeoutInSecond – This timer is started when the transport connection associated with a durable handle is lost. It controls the amount of time the server keeps a durable handle active
after the transport connection to the client is lost. The default value is 60 seconds (Windows 8, Windows Server 2012). The maximum value is 300 seconds.
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMBWitness\Parameters\
KeepAliveInterval – This functionality was introduced for SMB 3.0 in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. The witness protocol is used to explicitly notify a client of resource changes that have occurred
on a highly available cluster server. This enables faster recovery from unplanned failures, so that the client does not need to wait for TCP timeouts. The default value is 20 minutes (Windows 8, Windows Server 2012).
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SmbDirect\Parameters\
ConnectTimeoutInMs – Establish a connection and complete negotiation. ConnectTimeoutInMs is the deadline for the remote peer to accept the connection request and complete SMB Direct negotiation. Default
is 120 seconds (Windows 8).
AcceptTimeoutInMs – Accept negotiation: The SMB Direct Negotiate request should be received before AcceptTimeoutInMs expires. The servers starts this timer as soon as it accepted the connection. Default
is 5 seconds (Windows 8).
IdleConnectionTimeoutInMs – This timer is per-connection. It is the amount of time the connection can be idle without receiving a message from the remote peer. Before the local peer terminates the
connection, it sends a keep alive request to the remote peer and applies a keep alive timer. Default is Default: 120 seconds (Windows 8).
KeepaliveResponseTimeoutInMs – This attribute is per-connection. It defines the timeout to wait for the peer response for a keep-alive message on an idle RDMA connection. Default is 5 seconds (Windows
8).
CreditGrantTimeoutInMs – This timer is per-connection. It regulates the amount of time that the local peer waits for the remote peer to grant Send credits before disconnecting the connection.
This timer is started when the local peer runs out of Send credits. Default is 5 seconds (Windows 8).

http://blogs.msdn.com/b/openspecification/archive/2013/03/27/smb-2-x-and-smb-3-0-timeouts-in-windows.aspx3. How to Troubleshoot
3.1 Troubleshooting Decision Tree
1
Is the slowness occurring in browsing a network shared folder or copying a file, or both?
Browsing, go to 1.1.
Copying, go to 1.2.
Both, go to 1.3.
1.1
Is the target a DFS path or not?
Yes, go to 1.1.1.
No, go to 1.1.2.
1.1.1
Is the client visiting the nearest DFS root server and file server?
Yes, go to 1.1.1.1.
No, go to 1.1.1.2.
1.1.1.1
Browse the corresponding (Non-DFS) UNC path directly. Do you still experience the slowness?
Yes, go to 1.1.1.1.1.
No,
go to 1.1.1.1.2.
1.1.1.1.1
Issue is the particular file server responds to the share folder enumeration requests slowly. Most probably it’s
unrelated to DFS. Follow 1.1.2.
1.1.1.1.2
Issue is that client experiences delay when browsing the DFS path, but no delay is visiting the target file server
directly. Capture Network Monitor trace from the client and study if the DFS path is cracked down.
1.1.1.2
Use dfsutil.exe to clear local domain and referral cache. Then visit the DFS path again and capture Network Monitor
trace from the client to study why the client goes to a wrong file server or DFS root server.
1.1.2
Not a DFS issue. Issue is the particular file server responds to the share folder enumeration requests slowly. “Dir”
the same share folder from Command Prompt. Is it slow?
Yes, go to 1.1.2.1
No, go to 1.1.2.2
1.1.2.1
Check the number of subfolders and files in that share folder. Is the number large?
Yes, go to 1.1.2.1.1
No, go to 1.1.2.1.2
1.1.2.1.1
Try to “dir” a different share folder on the same file server, but with less items. Is it still slow or not?
Yes, go to 1.1.2.1.1.1
No, go to 1.1.2.1.1.2
1.1.2.1.1.1
Probably to be performance issue of the file server. Capture Network Monitor trace from both sides, plus Performance
Monitor on the file server.
1.1.2.1.1.2
Probably to be performance issue of the file server, particularly, of the disk. Capture Network Monitor trace from
both sides, plus Performance Monitor on the file server.
1.1.2.1.2
Same as 1.1.2.1.1.1. Probably to be performance issue of the file server. Capture Network Monitor trace from both
sides, plus Performance Monitor on the file server.
1.1.2.2
Explorer.exe browses the share folder slowly while “dir” does fast. The issue should lie in the particular SMB traffic
incurred by explorer.exe. It's a Shell issue.
1.2
Is the target a DFS path or not?
Yes, go to 1.2.1
No, go to 1.2.2
1.2.1
Is the client downloading/uploading against the nearest file server?
Yes, go to 1.2.1.1
No, go to 1.2.1.2
1.2.1.1
Try to download/upload against that file server using the Non-DFS share path. Still slow?
Yes, go to 1.2.1.1.1
No, go to 1.2.1.1.2
1.2.1.1.1
Not a DFS issue. Capture Network Monitor trace from both sides to identify the pattern of the slowness.
1.2.1.1.2
This is unlikely to occur because the conclusion is contradictory to itself. Start from the beginning to double
check.
1.2.1.2
Same situation as 1.1.1.2. Use dfsutil.exe to clear local domain and referral cache. Then visit the DFS path again
and capture Network Monitor trace from the client to study why the client goes to a wrong file server or DFS root server.
1.2.2
Same as 1.2.1.1.1. It's not a DFS issue. Capture Network Monitor trace from both sides to identify the pattern of
the slowness.
1.3
Follow 1.1 and then 1.2.

File copy slow, extremely slow
Hi everybody,
I'm facing a strange situation where file copy from an external drive (USB) to my hard drive (a macbook pro late 2008) is extremely slow.
I'm trying to understand what is happening and got here to get some help from experts ^^
The problem arises on some files only and is not specific to the external hard drive I use.
Once a file start to copy slowly, cancel the copy and start it again does not help. It's like the system finds it hard to copy this file.
It is generally very large file (over 5Gb).
I've used the disk utility to check the hard drive but every thing is ok.
I'm currently trying to copy a 35Gb file. The ETC is 74 hours !!!
Can somebody help?
Thanks
PascalThanks Chris for your answer.
I did rest the PRAM but it does not help. I just tried to copy the same file and the ETC is 305 hours
An other idea?

High Score Table: Writing a Simple Text File with Flash and PHP
I am having a problem getting Flash to work with PHP as I need Flash to read and write to a text file on a server to store simple name/score data for a games hi score table. I can read from the text file into Flash easily enough but also need to write to the file when a new high score is reached, so I need to use PHP to do that. I can send the data from flash to the php file via POST but so far it is not working. The PHP file is confirmed as working as I added an echo to the file which displayed a message so I could check that the server was running PHP - the files were also uploaded to a remote server so I could test them properly. Flash code is as follows:
//php filewriter
var myLV = new LoadVars();
function sendData() {
//sets up variable 'hsdata' to send to php
myLV.hsdata = myText;
myLV.send("hiscores.php");
I believe this sends the variable 'myText' to the php file as a variable called 'hsdata' which I want the php file to write into a text file. The mytext variable is just a long string that has all the scores and names in the hiscore. OK, XML would be better way of doing this but for speed I just want to get basic functionality working, so storing a simple text sting is adequate for now. The PHP code that reads the Flash 'hsdata' variable and writes it to the text file 'scores.txt' follows:
<?php
//assigns to variable the data POSTed from flash
$flashdata = $_POST["hsdata"];
//file handler opens file and erases all contents with w arg
$fh = fopen("scores.txt","w");
//adds data to file
fwrite ($fh,$flashdata);
//closes file
fclose ($fh);
echo 'php file is working';
?>
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - once I can get php to write simple text files I should be ok. Thanks.Thanks for your help.
I have got Flash working to a certain extent with PHP using loadVars but have been unable to get flash to receive a variable declared in PHP. Here's my Flash code:
var outLV = new LoadVars();
var inLV = new LoadVars();
function sendData() {
outLV.hsdata = "Hello from Flash";
outLV.sendAndLoad("http://www.mysite.com/hiscores/test23.php",inLV,"post");
inLV.onLoad = function(success) {
if (success) {
//sets dynamic text box to show variable sent from php
statusTxt.text = phpmess;
} else {
statusTxt.text = "No Data Received";
This works ok and the inLV.onLoad function reports that it is receiving data but does not display the variable received from PHP. The PHP file is like this:
<?php
$mytxt =$_POST['hsdata'];
$myfile = "test23.txt";
$fh = fopen($myfile,'w');
//adds data to file
fwrite($fh, $mytxt);
//closes file
fclose ($fh);
$mess = "hello there from php";
echo ("&phpmess=$mess&");
?>
The PHP file is correctly receiving the hsdata from flash and writing it to a text file, but there seems to be a problem with the final part of the code which is intended to send a variable called 'phpmess' back to Flash, this is the string "hello there from php". How do I set up Flash and PHP so that PHP can send a variable back to Flash using echo? Really have tried everything but am totally baffled. Online tutorials have given numerous different syntax configurations for how the PHP file should be written which has really confused me - any help would be greatly appreciated. -
Time capsule is slow and inconsistent
It seems that the wifi is much slower than my old airport extreme, and inconsistent in terms of connectibility and strength. Any hints? I've been at this for two days.
All,
Maybe trying some of these suggestions will help?
*_Slow Time Capsule Transfer Speeds_*
*Initial Backup Best Over Ethernet*
It is recommended that you perform the initial full backup via ethernet, then all subsequent backups via wireless.
*Transmit Power & Wide Channels*
If you are using the 802.11n only (5 GHz) radio mode, you can also select to use wide channels, which provide higher data throughput in your network.
Launch Airport Utility
Select your Time Capsule on the left.
Click “Manual Setup”.
Select “Airport” in the toolbar.
Click the “Wireless” tab.
Click “Wireless Options...” at the bottom of the window.
Adjust the “Transmit Power” to 100%.
Put a check mark in the box labeled “Use Wide Channels”.
Click “Done”.
Click “Update” in the lower right hand corner.
Wait for the Time Capsule to restart and then see if your network speeds improve.
*Anti-Virus Software*
Are you running anti-virus software. Disable it and see if network speeds improve. The discussion boards are filled with users who are experiencing degraded network speeds due to their anti-virus software.
One poster observed: “I had the exact same problem 5mins ago, it had taken 2 hours to back up 2GB, I realized I installed Sophos anti virus a couple of days ago. When I turned that off my back up is speeding through.”
Another contributor stated, “I am doing the first backup to my time capsule, about 71 Gb, It seems to be going about 1 Gb per hour. is this seem OK? I tried the ethernet connection and the speed was about the same. It has been going all night and after 12 hours it is at only 12 Gb of 71….I found the problem, I uninstalled Norton and the problem went away. It backed up in about 3 or 4 hours”
*Wireless Security Issue*
Some who have experienced degraded network speeds have isolated the problem to their wireless security setup. Try this:
Launch Airport Utility
Select your Time Capsule on the left.
Click “Manual Setup”.
Select “Airport” in the toolbar.
Click the “Wireless” tab.
Change “Wireless Security” to “None”.
Click “Update” in the lower right hand corner.
Wait for the Time Capsule to restart and then see if your network speeds improve.
Granted, this is far from desirable. But it does help to isolate the problem in you instance. Maybe simply resetting the security with a new password will help?
Let us know if any of these procedures helped.
Cheers! -
Hi. I am having some problems to copy files from USB, the process is really slow. Took 30 min to copy only 1,3 GB from the usb to my home folder. Any solution for this?

Is your USB device attached via the uhci_hcd or ehci_hcd module?
(Check dmesg)
If your system is using the uhci_hcd module it will only operate at full speed 12Mbit/s (and not high speed 480Mbit/s) which means it would take at least 14 mins to copy 1,3 GB of data.
It is using uhci_hcd -
STA100-3 10.2.1.2991 I notice that sometimes the File Manager is slow or does seem to work. In particular, SMS Backup app (which has worked for over a year) has started to fail when it calls the File Manager. The app developer doesn't see this, but functionally when the app calls the File Manager the screen dims for a while and then nothing. I've tried deleting the app and reinstalling it and mutilple reboots in the process to make sure memory is max and still have an issue. Also, when I try to add photos etc in email or FB it sometimes fails to bring up the File Manager to select attachments/photos.
With my recent update to VZW's 10.3.2.858 this issue is resolved. Must have been a corrupt OS file issue.

Saving files very slow, and sometimes crashes.
When saving files, it is extremely sluggish, regardless of what the file contains (tons of images, or a few shapes with text). When the "Progress" window pops up, the program will grey out, and display the Not Responding in the header, and appear completely unresponsive. Though it does eventually save the file. This is a work computer, so I don't do anything besides Photoshop and Illustrator. The system specs are:
Windows 7 64
12GB RAM
Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80HZ
I don't see it as being a hardware issue, as I mentioned this delay happens regardless of the type I am working with. I experience this when saving files locally, and saving them on our network, both yield the same results.
EDIT: Forgot to mention that this hasn't always been like this. Few weeks ago it was all working flawlessly (even just saving to the network directly instead of copying), it's just been slowly getting worse.Check your printers. this error is related to the default printer and print service. If you have an offline or unconnected printer, this is most likely your issue.
Remove any offline or old/duplicate references to networked printers. If the printer is timing out, you will experience lag in Photoshop and Illustrator even on fast systems.
If you did not have any old printers, then recreate and update your print driver, as you may have a corrupt .ppd file. -
CPU heats up on file copy/backup and fan speed does not increase
Hi Friends,
I have been having issues with fan in my Dell Studio 1555. It has an ATI Radeon card and I had installed the proprietary catalyst driver as the open source driver is too noisy.
Recently, I noticed that on accessing my hard disk and copy files or running backup (luckybackup), the temperature shoots up from around 60 deg C (just using chrome) to 100 deg C when it would shut down itself. However, it seems like the fan speed does not increase with the increase in temperature to help it cool down.
I tried to get the fan speed details with "lm-sensors" but it would not show the fan speed. Here is the output of sensors:
[user@domain]$ sensors
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +60.0°C (crit = +100.0°C)
temp2: +59.0°C (crit = +100.0°C)
temp3: +66.0°C (crit = +100.0°C)
coretemp-isa-0000
Adapter: ISA adapter
Core 0: +58.0°C (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Core 1: +58.0°C (high = +105.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
Following the Arch wiki, I added acpi_enforce_resources=lax to kernel parameters but it did not help as well.
Here is the main problem:
1. CPU temperature shoots on accessing hard drive but fan speed does not increase - Any guide/direction to investigate would be really helpful.
2. Sensors does not show the fan speed. Read about i8kutils, but couldn't figure out how to get it working with systemd. Any indicators here?

Im having similar issue on a vostro 1710, fan never works... :-/
The fan was bad. I had to replace the fan. However, I have not been able to figure out how to see fan speed in sensors.

Flash player loading files very slow and getting stuck after 100%
Hello all,
I have an issue with my development and need your help and feedback for the same:
I have developed various E-Learning courses which was published some in Flash Player 9 and some with version 10. Since Flash Player 10.1 was introduced all my developed courses was running fine. But it's found that user who are using Flash Player 10.1.85.3 is facing issue with file loading and playing the courses. Some time Flash player fails to load the chapters and files after preloading 100%, and sometime it's very slow in loading performance. I like to intimate that all these was not happening with Flash player version 10. Please give me any idea where I am going wrong. Is this kind of issue possible? If anyone faced the same experience. Please give me your valuable feedback.
Please Note: I have faced an scenario that, suppose a user is stuck with loading the course, and after getting stuck he clear his browser cache, and immediately after that the same player start working fine. And loading the course chapter properly. Need help to get rid of this kind of situation.
Thank you

Connection to file server slow and unreliable after upgrading to Leopard
I have a client with a G5 PowerMac (3 GB memory) who has been connecting reliably to a network file server (Windows based) at her company for years. Upon upgrading to Leopard the connections is slower. Or, rather, opening the root level directory is fast. The second level folder is fast. The third level is fast. Beyond that she gets the spinning cursor and it can take a long time to open, even if there are only a couple files inside. Also, navigating back to the first level I see a spinning cursor and "Connecting..." as though the Mac had lost connection with the file server simply by opening the volume. Sometimes she has to Force Quit the Finder (which reports "not responding". Weird. Any ideas out there?
Hi Greg,
It was my second visit to this company, and it was for something else that I was focussed on. I don't know what kind of server they are running. It's a PC house running Exchange servers so it's probably some kind of Microsoft system. If the problem persists I'l get more info next week when they reopen after the holiday. -
Files copied from and to external USB HD connected via Extreme disappears
Ok here is my senario and it has happend even before Mavericks. I was hoping it was fixed in Mavericks but doesn't appear so.
I have an external USB HD (Segate 3TB) connected to my Extreme's external USB port. The drive is shared with a drive password and the extreme is connected to my iMac via ethernet cable.
The problem is I download large (legal) files from the web and store them on this drive. I later go back and move the files to their proper folder, also stored on same drive. I use Finder to do all my moving, renaming, etc. The files about 5% of the time will move and be there for a few minutes then both dissappear from the drive completely, it is the strangest thing. At first I thought I was accidently deleting them somehow but it has now been happening for over a year.I cannot really say. My home network and this extreme are used almost 20 hours a day streaming 1 - 2 HD Videos, from the metioned drive. While also keeping up with the kids MMORPG video games and youtube watching habits. I try and steal what bandwidth time slices I can. LOL (DSL Stinks BTW) I do wish there was an app to get better realtime data from the extreme.?.?
Given what the extreme handles I would not want to task my iMac with that, even just streaming the videos. I am already concerned that the Segate drive may not be able to handle the speed I need, to serve more and more simultaneous streams. I was already considering a second drive and raid 0 to help with any stutter, and a badly needed backup. Ohh wouldn't it be nice if I could connect another drive to one of my expresses and mirror them together.
I believe I'm about to talk myself into setting up a linux NAS server. Any better ideas, that aren't "Apple cheap". -
Wifi Broadband speedtest slow and inconsistent results?
Hi,
I recently purchased an Iphone 3gs, but i seem to be having a problem with my wifi speeds. Iv downloaded the app Speedtest.net on my phone and a friends phone to compare speed results on my wifi network. He was able to recieve 3.3mb download speed were i was able to only recieve 0.6mb.so i tried various wifi combatible systems (ie. laptop etc) to see what speed they come up with and they recieve 3.3mb. so i came to the conclusion it must be the phone, went into CPW and they replaced it but the new phone is exactly the same does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this?
Many thanks
Rich
Message was edited by: Rich1985What model of router are you using? Do you have the same speed issue if you connect to someone else's WiFi network? Have you checked that your routers firmware is up to date? I assume that your WiFi network is encrypted, disable the encryption and then test to see if the speed improves - if it does then try a different form of encryption. Check to see if the wireless is set to only b or g and if so try changing to b & g for example.
Report back and we'll see if we can't find a solution -

Here are some help pages done by CL Keith http://forumhelp.dyndns.info/speed/adslmenu.html
Can you also post the full results from BT Speedtest speedtester.bt.com
Have you tried connecting to the test socket at the rear of the master socket
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal

So I have a 10.2 setup with a primary and physical standby. I've configured dataguard broker and it all looks good. Now I'm trying to test failover. I shutdown the primary, executed a failover command in dgmgrl to failover to the standby and it's up
