Simple cfquery confusing my brain!
This should be simple, I hope...but my brain is not wrapping around it
SQL DB. Table in db called contactinfo. column in table called State
I want to be able to run a query to pull all of the states but only once and put a recordcount next to it.
So, say there are three TX clients. I want to show TX (3)
Does this make any sense?
Thanks in advance
Sharon

I think I've got it!
SELECT state, count(state) as statecount
FROM contactinfo
GROUP BY state
then loop and output
#q.state - #q.statecount#
Thanks for point in the right direction!!!

Simple cfquery dsn connection...
Hi,
Still struggling to get a DSN connection working on a GoDaddy
server. This works just fine on my local machine with testing
server running, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing
anything that would be required for this to work on a remote
server. I've built a couple practice CF sites locally, but this is
my first attempt to publish one.
Anyway, here's the cfquery:
<cfquery name="rs_TEST"
datasource="mysqlcf_oldoakstesttwo">
SELECT *
FROM table01
</cfquery>
Just a simple request to return records from table 1 of a
sample database. The DSN is the name GoDaddy's control panel
assigned to my database. I created a DSN with the same name
locally, and it works. I get a security error when I publish. From
what I understand, GD doesn't require a username or password in the
DSN connection, but I tried that anyway... still no dice. I'm
really starting to suspect the problem is on their end, but just
want to make sure this should work.
So, does it look ok?
Thanks guys...
JoeI would contact godaddy and tell them the security error you
are getting.
The <cfquery> is fine

Condition - simple but confused
Ok... have I lost my mind?
Create a movie with 352/352 dimensions... this is supposed to
represent an 8x8 grid where each square is 44 x44.
Now paste the code below and test the movie.
My question:
Why is it that the X / Y coordinates do not match the
conditional statement that attempts to evaluate them?ugh.
Typo. Where should be where

Need help with some simple N900 confusions/problem...
Hi All
Just got a UK N900 rx-51_2009se_2.2009.51-1.203.2_pr_203 and I'm rather struggling with some things:
MMS; didnt get any operator settings for MMS, and can't find any way of creating an MMS. Can someone enlighten me?
Can this thing not be used in portrait mode other than for the phone dial pad?
When connecting to e.g. the wireless network they have in the pub, it wants me to push a button on the router, or type a pin into the router - why can't we just have the old fashioned way of "ask the pub staff what the key is, they tell me, and i type it in" - how do I enter the wpa key as a word without this pin/button pushing nonsense?
How can I type my SMS etc with a 3x3 key pad (like a phone) - I really don't like qwerty on phones.. I'm after a portrait mode, can-be-operated-with-just-a-thumb, 3x3 button layout with predictive text (i.e. like every phone in the history of the world) - how do I do that?
I can't find any form of Switch app (to copy contacts and messages off my old device) - how do we do this painlessly?
How do I make the phone forget all the badly spelled words the previous owner seems to have entered?
Can the thing that organises the main screen snap the icons to a larger grid or must I mess around nudging with the stylus till they line up? (They tend to jump out of line just as I remove the stylus from the screen)
I'm sure I'll have more questions later..
ThanksAnswers to my own Qs for the benefits of others:
MMS; didnt get any operator settings for MMS, and can't find any way of creating an MMS. Can someone enlighten me?
No, use fMMS but be aware it's very beta, only allows picture sending with very rudimentary settings and you must change APN manually
Can this thing not be used in portrait mode other than for the phone dial pad?
No, apps have to be portrait specific and only dial pad and the browser (experimental) know of it

No - a WONTFIX bug. Configure the connection manually in settings instead and you can type the key
No can do until someone on the maemo team etc creates an on screen keyboard that functions in this way
I can't find any form of Switch app (to copy contacts and messages off my old device) - how do we do this painlessly?
No. Transfer and Sync in Settings can retrieve only what Nokia Content Copier can (contacts, calendar, notes) but it's slightly more painless
How do I make the phone forget all the badly spelled words the previous owner seems to have entered?
Delete the .xxx.dictionary files from /home/user/.osso/dictionaries dir. May need to be root for this, see sites for info on adding repositories, installing rootsh etc

Simple script wanting to use as a learning tool.
Iam after a simple flash application that will display guitar chords. I basically a guitar image and all the chords already listed as this style equation. 355433 or something simular.
Basically i want a drop down menu that when selcted will display a red dot displaying the above style position on ther guitar image.
I suspect the first thing would be to define all the relevant x-y coordinates of the guitar string. There are six strings 1,2,3,4,5,6 . then each fret is numbered 0-12.so for 355433 it would be referring to 13,25,35,44,53,63 as the positioning of the code - if you see what is happening there (there might be an easier to code it but that seems mathematically simple to my tiny brain LOL)
so if the x-y coordinates are defined to include all positions on the freboard and that is matched with the counts. in theory i could just enter in the 355433 style chords and they would show on the image in their respectyive positions with a red dot.
Mathematically it is easy as pie. but i have no idea how to go about doing this in flash but.... I really want to learn.
Look forward to any support or pointing in the right direction
Much appreciated
ArynOk, I'm trying to get a podcast from Garageband to iWeb and it loads to iWeb fine. But iWeb limits my labeling to only:
Series Artist
Contact Email
Parental Advisory
and Episode artist
I want to use the other labels like:
iTunes Copyright
subtitle
Summary
Description
keywords
art
iTunes Email
The application just isn't as flexible as I need it to be. When I create mp3's from garageband to iWeb , iWeb strips out the artwork from the podcast.
Also, when I try to change anything from the backend, because they are using javascript like crazy rather than keeping it simple with CSS, HTML and CSS I'm unable to modify the process effectively. Also, because I host the website on a .com that isn't .mac when I export it, the whole website exports rather then just the changes. Also, because I have multiple websites (blog, techincal website and podcast website) it takes a long time to export (and I'm on a Mac Pro).
I just think they should integrate their products better and making publishing to other websites seamless. If anyone has any hints on getting other iTunes tags and getting iWeb to work better with exporting let me know. -
How to adjust this HTML for my Mobile Me site?
Hi,
I've downloaded the below source code from here: www.slidesjs.com as I want to add a JQuery to my iWeb site.
I found this tutorial, which is great! http://www.bluenotesentertainment.com/iweb-tips/how-to-add-a-jquery-slider-to-iw eb/ - but, the source code has changed since it was written and I cannot figure out what the change the elements below to in order for it to work.
For you info, I have uploaded the Standard folder to my iWeb site (complete with index file, css folder, img folder and js folder) and renamed it to 'slider' for ease. All these files are saved in: http://web.me.com/myusername/flash/slider
I think I know what to change all the blue highlighted areas below too, but not the red.
If I am right in my thinking, the blue should be: href (the web address of where I want the image on the slider to click through to), title (what appears under the image on the slider), img src (the location of where I have saved the image, in this case - http://web.me.com/myusername/flash/slider/images/image.png).
But I am not sure what to put for the red highlighted areas, especially the script source. Surely this would be http://web.me.com/myusername/flash/slider something or other?
On the tutorial, it replaces:
<script src="js/jquery-1.4.4.min.js"></script>
with
<script src="http://www.yourdomain.com/slider/js/jquery-1.4.4.min.js"></script>
I have my site hosted through mobile me, but then redirected to my domain through godaddy. So do I put my mobile me one or my main web address it redirects to and how should it show? Plus the HTML below is entirely different.

</html>To answer the question in the subject line :
You don't.
Do not think iWeb. Do not think MobileMe. Do not think domainname. It confuses the brain.
Simply put the desired slideshow folder from the examples on the server.
The result is this :
http://web.me.com/wyodor/Standard/
Open the index.html file in a HTML editor of your choice and remove the code with text you do not want displayed. And change the name of the images.
And now we come to iWeb.
Add a HTML snippet to a page and paste an <iframe> to display the slideshow :
<iframe src="../../../Standard/" width="950" height="200" scrolling="no" frameborder="0"></iframe>
Change the width and height numbers to make the slideshow fit the snippet. -
Hi Experts,
Its a simple yet confusing error to me. I copy a DTP which has some filters defined. I get an error saying both the DTPs can not have the same filter criteria - if its a Delta DTP. I say ok and try to change the filter values , interestingly the error still remains and my new DTP does not activate.
Please suggest how I can resolve this. I can not change the udpate method to "Full". It has to be a "Delta".
Appreciate your inputs,
thanks,
ShwetaHi Shweta,
I think you have posted your question to the wrong forum. The OnDemand forum is specifically for applications like crystalreports.com and bi.ondemand.com.

Location and building in Training and Event Management
Hello Dear Friends,
I Have a maybe very simple but confusing question.
I can not distinguish between "Location" and "Building" in Training and Event Management.Does Location contain buldings?
what is the relation between these two? and where do they join and link to each other? please give me an example.
Edited by: AppreciateSAP on Dec 28, 2010 9:54 AMHI,
Location means name of the city/town where the training is conducted,
Building means, in one city there may be more then one training institute/different building.
for an Ex.
Location - Delhi.
Building- Where the training is actually conducted. Like building 1 and building 2. -
HELP -- Slow and sometime unresponsive CF Server
From 2 weeks to date we are having problems with our CF Server. Especifically in one site but affect all the CF webserver. The problem is that the CF server is very slow and unresponsive some times and suddenly is normal again. Sometimes the server take a lot of time to load the index.cfm of the site in some sesion but the rarerly is that at the sametime other users load very fast the index. I don't know why. I debbuged and where it take a lot of time to load is in the application.cfm and is where the session is create. We have othe web apps in our intranet where have session too, they don´t take a lot of time of load the index (index and application.cfm).
Any recomendations?
regards!

I thought CF8 32 bit would struggle with a 64 bit Java. Only had a short time window to try this so did not do any further experiments with trying to make the 64 bit Java function with CF8 like moving or swapping other DLL files around.
Not sure that helps you much since you said the 32 bit JDK did not install. I suppose I have replicated what you found that CF8 got the same startup problem you saw with 64 bit JDK.
What else can I suggest? In my case the particular site was working well CF8 with 1.6.0_04 JVM. The JVM had some tuned values applied to the minimum and maximum memory heap and non-heap values as well as garbage collector had core switch applied so it was working multi-threaded. I guess for me it will be interesting to note if any problems arise since I have left the site running 1.6.0_27 32 bit JDK (aka free upgrade).

Macbook trouble connecting to timecapsule
Hi,
silly issue. In my workplace my Macbook Pro connects via Ethernet to the Network for surfing. I also have a Timecapsule in my office which i wanto back up to wirelessly.
Problem; The Airport always tries to connect to a different Wireless network which is provided by a close by hotspot. The wireless network it tries to connect to on the hotspot was never used; its called "beta". The Timecapsule is called "capsule". If I select "capsule" explicitly it works until after restart, when the Airport again tries to connect to "beta" and gets stuck as he doesnt have a password for that of course.
How can I get the macbook to remember to go to the timecapsule by default?
Should I change the name of the Timecapsule to "Alpha"?
Thanks
The WumpusHeres Homer Simpson saying a big loud: DUH!
Ill try that right away.
Evidently it was much too simple for my huge brain. It just couldnt cope!
Thank you! -
T.code of resp. program to be displayed in ALV as heading or header
Hi !
I have a rather simple yet confusing question for me.
My requirement is to display the respective transaction code of the Zreport in the report itself.
I am able to display it in classical format but unable to figure out a way in ALV format.
Can you please help me find a way to display the report's respective T.CODE in the report header or footer.
thanx in advance.You can do this with FM REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE

Purchase order distrubution using EDI
Hi, SAP gurus!
I am trying to set up Purchase order distrubution using EDI. ORDERS idocs will be sent through middleware message broker. I added ORDERS idoc in LS partner profile outbound data and set up medium type 6 for PO output. Something else is missing since I can't add manually output to a purchase order - error message VN032: "Maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner"
"Short Text
Maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner &
Diagnosis
The system could not locate the EDI partner agreements (outbound) for partner .
System Response
You cannot use transmission medium 'EDI' with this partner.
Procedure
Maintain the EDI partner agreements for partner . Make sure to create entries for output control as well as for outbound parameters."
What else is needed besides outbound idoc data in partner profiles?
Maybe I have to do everything completely different?
Thanks!If it's an EDI interface, you should be using a trading partner partner profile type (KU or LF) ... a customer or vendor ... not a logical system, although you can use LS it's not really an optimal solution and you need to create more generic configuration to generate your IDocs from your business documents.
I cover configuration of output control for outbound EDI invoices in a series of blog postings at:

I also cover it extensively in my new book from SAP Press "Architecting EDI with SAP IDocs". All steps are covered in the blog postings and the book.

Problems with PDF's saved in illustrator
Hello,
I have designed a menu for a client in illustrator & saved it as a PDF. Which when I save it looks like this....
Now the client has come back me, because when they upload it to the printers website it looks like this....
I have tried saving it in different sizes & unticking & ticking certain options in the PDF save menu but each time it is uploaded on the printer website, it comes out looking wrong (not always the same either, but still missing chunks or pixelated with colour changes)
Anyone have any ideas where I am going wrong? It always looks fine on my laptop, its just when it is uploaded on the printers website?
Thanks! =)sorry about the 'export' confusion--my brain was functioning in indesign mode.
here is what I have tried --I don't have illustrator here at home--so I used my work VPN to log into a machine that has CS5:
analysis---
file was created in Illustrator 5.1 (part of the CS 5.5 Suite).
no spot colors
file size is 9.6 MB
no bleed set on document
artboard is 4.25 x 6.25
all objects appear to be vector
all text is outlines
I tried to make it all work and may have a solution (I made a new file but it's 11 MB--probbably too big for email)
possible solution:
1.make a new layer and make sure it's the topmost layer
select all the text items (VEGAN, address block, all menu items) move them to topmost layer.
2. turn OFF that layer
3.select all on original layer--go to Object>Rasterize--in dialog that opens--set rasterization to CMYK--600 dpi--then click OK--this will rasterize the baskground.
when it finishes...turn new layer back on--save file with a new name (so you still have your original intact).
4. make your PDF for the printer from that NEW file.
I've attached a jpeg of what your finished document should look like (assuming the finished piece is supposed to be 4-1/4 x 6-1/4) it may need more bleed (top, bottom and right side).
hope this will solve your problem...good luck -
Passing information between class
Greetings Fellow Developers,
I have what I believe to be a simple question but my brain is only thinking in procedural at the moment so I'm in a bit of a fix.
I'm working on a midlet and creating an message book application
I must pass informatin class mesaj to JSMS
public class mesaj extends DisplayTextBox{
private static String mes="";
public mesaj() {
super("mesajınız",TextField.ANY);
public void setMesaj(){
mes=getString();
public static String getMesaj(){
setMesaj();//there is problem with use static method
return mes;
public class JSMS extends MIDlet implements CommandListener{
public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) {
if(c==add){
AddRecord(mesaj.getMesaj);
}I have a problem using getMesaj method...
can I passed information without non-static method
thanx
muratti32Hi,
I think that your set and get methods are a bit wrong. Maybe they should be like this
public void setMesaj(String m)
mes = m;
public static String getMesaj()
return mes;
}if you don't want to make static methods, you'll have to make an instance of the class, which methods you want to call.
public class JSMS extends MIDlet implements CommandListener{
private mesaj m = new mesaj();
public void commandAction(Command c, Displayable d) {
if(c==add){
AddRecord(m.getMesaj);

Why is the swipe a different direction on lion?
I just updated from Snow Leopard to Lion. Why is the "two finger" swipe to scroll the page a different direction? Also, for the "four finger" swipe, I used to swipe down to see all open windows and now I have to swipe up. It's confusing my brain! Is there a way to change the direction?
Thank you!It was done to make the gestures the same as they are on the iPhone and iPad.
You can change this behavior back to what you're used to in System Settings>Mouse>Point and Click and System Settings>Trackpad>Scroll & Zoom.
