Simple Disk Space report

Hi All,
Can you guys have any simple disk space report to get total Disk and free Space for a group of servers

For disk free space report for a group computers
1) Create a computer groups
2) Reporting--> Microsoft Generic Report Library --> Performance Detail
3) Create data series with object is computer group which you defined in 1) and rules as logical disk free megabytes 2008 and logical disk free megabytes windows server 2012
4) Run the report
5) View detail of each machine, you should click performance detail for each object
For total disk,
1) Create a custom group which contains all logical disk drive of conscious servers
2) Reporting--> Microsoft Generic Report Library --> Custom Configuration
3) In the object, select the group defined in 1)
4) In reprt fields, select "Size MegaBytes"

  • SCOM 2012 - Custom disk space report - Computer Groups

    Hello,
I've created custom disk report with sql query to pull the disk space for all servers. The report has parameters start data,End date and computer name but now my requirement would be to get the disk reports based on custom created computer group, Is it possible
to feed computer group name instead of computer name in the custom reports?

    Hi,
For SCOM 2007, you can’t select a group of servers and run a free disk space report on them. And for 2012 I think it also like that.
But based on my research, someone said that when you create group with Logical Disk targets, it may work. Here are two similar threads for your reference:

  • A200 Disk Space Report Problem

I have a problem with my A200. The disk size is 40GB and currently it has 15GB in use.
Occasionally the machine will suddenly start to report that the disk has only 40MB free space remaining - confirmed by checking properties for the disk under my computuer. After a reboot all goes back to normal with the correct free space reported.
Is this a known issue for this machine? I've seen there is a BIOS update available but can't see any details of the issues that it is meant to address.

    Hi,
in my opinion you should make a BIOS update.
Did you scan your HDD with a current antivirus software?
You can also run Scandisk and Defrag which are checking your HDD.

  • Cluster Disk Space Report - DESPERATE

Please can someone help the worldwide SCOM community and give us a Cluster Disk Report?
Name your price - I will pay for this.

Here's how to do it. We have a 2-node cluster, NODE1 and NODE2. The Cluster Name is WATER. We want a report for a file system that's on the cluster called Backups (the M: drive, but the drive letter doesn't matter, as SCOM uses the name of the file system).
Start with a Performance Detail report. Change your date range to whatever you want. Create a new series. Click on "Add Group" in the "Series Details" section (make sure you pick "Add Group", this is important). Find your cluster name, WATER and choose the
Windows Computer object.(it's odd, but trust me on this!)
In the Rule section, in the Search by Name tab, find the "Windows Server Cluster Disks Monitoring" MP. Pick the rule you want to run the report for, click OK. Back in the Rules section, select "Specific Instances" and find the name of your disk you want
the report for (in our case, "backups").
Here's what the settings/parameters look like when you're done:
Click OK and run the report. That's it!

  • Disk space reported differently around OS X

    Hello - I've got a 2012 MacBook Air with a  256GB SSD running OS X Mavericks 10.9.5.
When I view info about the hard disk, it shows as having 93GB free - however, when I view System Information, it says 48GB free.
45GB seems to have gone missing somewhere!
I've attached a screenshot showing both numbers.
I have done a repair permissions and repair disk using Disk Utility but no change.
    Any ideas?

  • HT3680 Less disk space after then before

I ran this utility and it took up more disk space- now I have less space then when I started.
Now what do I do?  No matter what I remove I gain no extra space.
    Help....

My apologies, the disk utility that comes with Mac OS.
I went to Launch Pad -> Utilities -> Disk Utility and ran the procedure by selecting the Erase tab and pressing the Erase Free Space... button. I choose the default option and let the program finish running. At the end I had less disk space reporting by this Utility then before the Utility ran.
I checked the Activity Monitor to confirm the amount of space free and it agreed with the Disk Utility.
I started the procedure as my Mac was running extremely slowly. It is a MacBook late 2008 model and upgraded to Mac OS X 10.7.5, which is as high as I can upgrade. If I try to upgrade further I receive a message that the Mac cannot support the next level upgrade.
I Have a 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, with 2GB memory.  When I check About this Mac it agrees with the amount of space available as the other two programs (Disk Utility and Activity Monitor).
The Mac is still running slowly.
I did check the HD with a commandi and this reports 76.72 GB free space.
I know the Mac does a lot of swapping but why hasn't performance improved?
I was thinking of purchasing an additional app or software such as Drive Genius but not sure it will help.
    Any thoughts?

  • The Case of the Disappearing Disk Space

Last week when I noticed I only had 5.5 gigs on my hard disk, I decided to start deleting files and programs that I didn't really need anymore. I ended up freeing up about 7 gigs! However, I have since noticed something peculiar...
As I use my computer (mostly browsing and e-mail, no other downloading), my hard disk mysteriously gets filled up. And I don't mean a few megabytes here and there, but rather more than two gigs in just a couple of days! This doesn't seem normal to me at all. Even if I do save files, they are usually just small Word documents for school. A few minutes ago, Finder said I had 10.7 gigs on my hard disk with the trash emptied. After I restarted, it said I had 13.15. Since then, I've already lost .02 gigs and the only programs I have open are Mail and Safari.
Can someone please explain to me what is happening here? Thanks!

Okay, my hard disk is at 12.71 now and a random .rtf file reads 8 kb. I'll check it later (if I am doing this right...)
You don't seem to be doing it correctly. Open TextEdit, create a new window, and note down the usage of disk space reported by WhatSize by typing it out into this window. After the amount of free space on the hard disk has decreased, run WhatSize again and note down what is reported this time. Compare the differences in the two sets of notes.
Another possibility is to choose Go to Folder from the Finder's Go menu, enter /private/var/vm/ as the folder's path, and keep an eye on the number of items in this folder as you use the computer.

  • Available disk space is not right!

My 800MHz PowerPC G3 iBook running OS 10.3.9 reports 4.3GB available when I open up the harddisk drive icon. When I choose View/List from the drop down menu and give enough time to calculate all the folder sizes and add up the reported size for each folder the sum comes to only about 7GB or so. This can't be quite right. I have emptied the trash so there's nothing there. Software Profiler reports my Hard disk to have a capacity of 27.94GB. So where are the other 15-16GB? I'd really li to know.

really I'd rather spend the time doing something else!
I suggest you do just that, Sergio. The Finder will report the size of visible files and folders only. Quite a bit is occupied by invisible files (including virtual memory swap files).
The available disk space reported by the Finder is correct. It's amount will vary depending on numerous factors, including how long the computer has been up.
If you're that interested in looking at all the files on your hard disk, fire up Terminal and enter the following command:
    <code>defaults write com.apple.finder ShowAllFiles TRUE</code>
    and relaunch the Finder.
To revert back replace <code>TRUE</code> with <code>FALSE</code> in the above command.
WARNING! Do not delete or move any of the invisible files or folders. They are essential parts of the system software. Moving or deleting them may render your OS inoperable, if you don't know what you're doing.

  • SQL Query for Free Disk Space

Hi, I have a requirement to produce several custom free disk space reports based around groups.  This will be on a 2012 R2 management group.  For a given group, does anyone know the SQL tables and the joins required to produce
both the free space % and free space MB in one query?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

what did you means of free space % and free space MB?
does it means the HD free or DB free space?
I assume that its means DB free space and you may refer to the following SQL statement
select Path, displayname,ObjectName, CounterName, avg(SampleValue) as Value, getdate() as date
       from Perf.vPerfRaw pvpr
inner join vManagedEntity vme on pvpr.ManagedEntityRowId = vme.ManagedEntityRowId
inner join vPerformanceRuleInstance vpri on pvpr.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId = vpri.PerformanceRuleInstanceRowId
inner join vPerformanceRule vpr on vpr.RuleRowId = vpri.RuleRowId
WHERE ObjectName = 'SQLServer : Database'
AND CounterName like 'DB Total Free Space%'
       AND pvpr.DateTime > DATEADD(minute, -60, GETUTCDATE())
AND Path in (select DisplayName + ';MSSQLSERVER' from OperationsManager.dbo.RelationShip r with (nolock) inner join OperationsManager.dbo.basemanagedentity bme
    with (nolock) on bme.BaseManagedEntityId = R.TargetEntityId
Where SourceEntityId in ( select BaseManagedEntityId from OperationsManager.dbo.basemanagedentity with (nolock)  where DisplayName LIKE
    '%SQL computer%') and r.IsDeleted=0)

  • Disk Utility shows incorrect free disk space after erasing hard disk

    Hello.
A few days ago, I tried to re-install my Mac OS and both Snow Leopard and Lion got the same problem. Before the re-installation, I erased the hard disk of my MacBook (late 2009) and the SSD of my MacBook Air (late 2010) - but after erasing the disks, the disk utility continued to show more or less 5 GB of used disk capacity, although the disks should have been cleared entirely I think.
After installing Snow Leopard or Lion, Finder showed as much free space as I usually expected it would, but Disk Utility still stated 5-10 GB less. For example:
MacBook: Finder shows 17 GB free, Disk Utility 6 GB free
MacBook Air: Finder shows 26 GB free, Disk Utility 19 GB free
    There are 2 problems:
    1) I need the original disk capacity. Think everybody agrees with that wish.
    2) More important: The MacBook should still get a Bootcamp partition (unfortunately, that's necessary for my university's software.. :s): With 17 GB free space, it would work - but 6 GB doesn't.
I would be very pleased if somebody could help me. I searched the web many times so far but didn't find any real solution.

The available disk space reported in finder is totally wrong.
Even if it accounts for the local snapshots. In my macbook air it shows 120 Available in finder which is just 1GB less than my SSD capacity.

  • Incorrect disk space indicator

    Hi
I have a 40GB (37.1 actual size) iPod with about 18GB of music and files which should leave me with another 19GB or so (give or take a few Gbs).
Both Windows and iTunes report that there is indeed 19GBs free but the iPod itself says only 9.2GB is free (from the 'settings' > 'about' menu). Deleting or adding files does not change this 9.2GB at all.
Even more annoying is if I try to copy anything larger than 9.2GB it refuses saying the disk is full despite Windows saying there is 19GB!
I have tried four of the five R's with no success. As I do not have enough room left on my computer to completely back everything up I would really like to avoid doing a full restore.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
Dell Latitude D600   Windows XP Pro

The 5th R, a Restore, is what fixes the problem you are having.
As of yet, it is the only known fix for the improper disk space reporting.
Are you saying that you have content on your iPod that you do not have backed up anywhere else?
If so... now you've just learned the hard way why this is an incredibly bad idea.
Sorry to preach, but backing up your files is a lesson that can not be taught enough.

  • Unable to install SCCM roles - reporting not enough available disk space on to complete this operation

    Hi.
I am having a strange problem with my SCCM 2012 R2 installation running on Windows Server 2008 R2.
I am not able to add any new roles to the server.
Event log reports: "Product: Application Web Service -- There is not enough available disk space on  to complete this operation. Installation requires at least 10MB free disk space."
awebsvcMSI.log reports: "Product: Application Web Service -- Configuration failed."
    and
"Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Application Web Service. Product Version: 5.00.7958.1000. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation. Reconfiguration success or error status: 1603."
I have three disks in the server.
C: (OS) ~8.7 GB free space
D: (SCCM) ~7.69 GB free space
E: (data) ~52.4 GB free space
I have NO_SMS_ON_DRIVE.SMS files on C: and D:. I tried removing it from D: and restarting the server without any effect.
Does anyone have a solution to this?
    Thanks in advance!

That error says the same as the event log:

  • HP530 OS_ (E:) tools reporting as low disk space

    Hi,
Following some tinkering by me following some Microsoft support suggestions, I think I have managed to solve my issues with windows updates...It did involve an emergency restart and a system restore from an external hard drive, and I think all is running OK now...the trouble is, I now can't seem to make a new back up on the external hard drive as it comes up with an error code and the OS_(E tools reporting low disk space. The HP_(D recovery is also looking quite full (although not red yet like the (E tools. The OS is Windows Vista Home basic 32- bit.

  • Reports for Low disk space alerts in scom 2007

    Dear Experts,
Is there any possible to get the Low disk Space alerts reports in SCOM 2007 R2.
1, I need reports for Last week SCOM sent alerts on Low Disk space for the servers list
2, Likewise I need SCOM Low disk space alerts reports for last month.
Can somebody please explain me with the steps and I played much with Reporting pane.

    Hi,
The below code should work to get all servers that have alert of logical disk free space is low in specific period:
get-alert -criteria 'Name = ''Logical Disk Free Space is low'' AND TimeRaised >=''3/24/2014'' AND TimeRaised <= ''4/24/2014''' | select MonitoringObjectDisplayName,MonitoringObjectPath,Name,TimeRaised | sort MonitoringObjectDisplayName

  • Finder is not correctly reporting available disk space

finder is not correctly reporting available disk space
my drive is 50% full but finder shows there is only @ 35% left
the difference is more than anything needed by the system
any ideas on what is causing the problem?

    Try this:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
