Simple E-Book Air App sample

I thought I'd  post my links as I finally was able to create a working sample.
I wanted to create the files in inDesign, which I did. For speed and to same the page curl, I eventually used a preloader to import the file into Flash. I added sme detail in Flash. I then comipled to an Air App. It worked!! eventually....
I did initially port the inDesign into Flash, and have begun reworking it fully in Flash as well, But that will take more time, and the inDesign version has nice page transitions.
It is very simple, and the interface is not yet fully built. I need to add menus, etc. And I want to create more interactive pages now. But it is a beginning.
There is an Air App, and a SWF
If you click on the Air app, it saves the installer. Once intalled you have to have air, to view it. I included the SWF for those on a desktop, who had no interest in looking at the Air file.
Thanks for all the help and patience with my dumb questions.
e
I thought I'd upload a link to my file, since I have finally had some success.
It  was created in inDesign. Flash was used to make some changes. It was  saved as an Air app. I have the swf, and the Air App installer on the  site.
It  is just the first 3 pages of an interactive book. Really simple.
Thanks for all the help

No, there are other components that exhibit this same
behavior, like sorting columns. Some investigation by others have
led us to conclude it has to do with how AIR hands off events to
the sub windows. Each subwindow then hands it off to all the other
subwindows, in a recursive loop that takes longer (obviously) the
more windows there are. After about 6, the logarithmics of it all
break things.

  • HTML based AIR app with transparent background (PNG)

    Hi guys,
    I have been developing a VERY simple HTML / JavaScript AIR app with Dreamweaver CS3 and Photoshop CS3.
    I have skinned the app with a simple transparent PNG file (Photoshop > Save for Web and Devices). I have set the PNG as the <body> background-image via CSS and the body background-color is undefined. I have also set the app to:
        <systemChrome>none</systemChrome>
        <transparent>true</transparent>
    My problem is that I get a white opaque background showing through behind / around the PNG.
    Q: Is it possible for HTML / JavaScript AIR apps to have transparent backgrounds (I have seen lots of info about how to do this in Flash / Flex but not HTML)?
    Q: What do I need to change or do to make it work?
    Many, many thanks,
    B

    Oops, sorry.
    I was using the BluePrint CSS Framework and it turns out that that was setting a background color.

    Welcome to the communities.
    We want to help you but unfortunately you have given us insufficient information.

  • HT1338 I dont have a mac book air can you install apps like (angry birds, temple run)

    I dont have a mac book air. Can you install apps like angry birds and temple run?

    Can you install them on what? Those are both iOS apps (meaning they can be installed on iPods, iPhones and iPads), but iOS apps cannot be run on either a Mac or a PC. I believe that there is a Mac version of Angry Birds as well, which is completely separate from the iOS version of Angry Birds.

  • Why did I get a free numbers app on my mac book air but not on my imac?

    I got a free download of numbers on my mac book air but not on my imac. Why is this?

    Hi Pamela,
    If it was free on your Air it should be free on your iMac too.  Perhaps you should doublecheck that:
    Your iMac is running Mavericks (the version of Numbers available for download from the App Store requires Mavericks)
    Your iMac is signed into the same App Store ID (usually, but not always, the same as the Apple ID you use to connect to iCloud) as your Air.

  • Simple Air App

    How can i create a simple AIR app very simple just some basic animations and to be transparent on the desktop?

    No. Since there is no radio tuner in the iPhone, it's not possible to do so. There used to be, and may still be, FM radio recievers available that connect to the dock connector.

  • Example working Flex AIR app for Android?

    I'm having trouble getting even the most basic AIR app working on Android. Here is the code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <s:WindowedApplication xmlns:fx="http://ns.adobe.com/mxml/2009"
                            xmlns:s="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/spark"
                            xmlns:mx="library://ns.adobe.com/flex/mx" xmlns:local="*"
                            width="600" height="600">
         <fx:Declarations>
             <!-- Place non-visual elements (e.g., services, value objects) here -->
         </fx:Declarations>
         <mx:Label text="Hello World"/>
    </s:WindowedApplication>
    It works fine running on  Windows in Flash Builder, obviously it's pretty simple. Here are the  commands I use to put it on a Samsung Galaxy Tab with Android 2.2.
    C:\Users\Ryan\Adobe  Flash Builder 4\Test2\bin-release>adt -package -storetype pkcs12  -keystore C:\Users\Ryan\STG-Android.pfx Test2.air Test2-app.xml  Test2.swf
    password:
    C:\Users\Ryan\Adobe Flash Builder 4\Test2\bin-release>adt -package  -target apk -storetype pkcs12 -keystore C:\Users\Ryan\STG-Android.pfx  Test2.apk Test2-app.xml Test2.swf
    password:
    test
    C:\Users\Ryan\Adobe Flash Builder 4\Test2\bin-release>adb install -r Test2.apk
    2286 KB/s (419172 bytes in 0.179s)
             pkg: /data/local/tmp/Test2.apk
    Success
    A Test2 app icon shows up on my Galaxy Tab  under Applications but when I run the app I just see a plain white  screen, I don't see the words "Hello World". Any ideas? Does anyone have  an example Flex AIR app that works on Android and can post the code so I  can try it on my Galaxy Tab? I know AIR is installed correctly on my  Galaxy because I installed an AIR app called South Park Avatar Creator  that I got from the market and it works fine.
    Thanks,
    Ryan
    P.S.  Here is the Test2-app.xml from my non-working project above in case it  helps. This is the default generated with a new Flex app in Flash  Builder 4 using the Flex 4.1.0 AIR 2.5 SDK but I uncommented the andoid  tags and set the visible tag to true.

  • [AIR 3.0] AIR app crash on attachCamera()

    edit:
    I'v changed the topic because the App chrashes on the attachCamera() function, not during Camera.getCamera()
    Hi,
    I'm developing an AIR App using Flash CS4 on windows 7 (64 bit), macbook pro. I catch the built In webcam (iSight...) with Camera.getCamera() and apply it to a Sprite on the stage.
    All works fine when I run the app using "control+enter" in Flash CS4.
    But when I install the published AIR package and run the standalone AIR app it crashes at Camera.getCamera() videoContainer.attachCamera(camera) and the usual windows error message appears. VideoContainer is a object from the class Video.
    any idea?

    Chris,
    it's a simple call to Camera.names , as pretty most everyone in this post (and many others on the web) reported.
    The AIR application just closes. No RTE, no crash report, nothing.
    I've found people reporting this issue since 2010. This is a Critical issue, IMHO, and I'm surprised the issue is still out there after being reported for such a long time.
    I've logged the bug here: https://bugbase.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=bug&id=3609470
    When Adobe changed all it's roadmap for AIR and FP, I lost access to the pre-releases so I can't really pressure the AIR team. Could you do that for me, Chris?
    I have asked one of our clients for the dxdiag report:
