What I mean here is that I have run an example of this error page before and have seen it work. But I have a different situation here in that I am calling the errorPage from a servlet and the first time it ran from a JSP. Here is the code that calls the errorPage. I will try your code as well and see if it makes a difference.

The content of X.jsp is a simple

The content of Y.jsp is only "Mail is sent" message.
The problem is that everytime page X is loaded,
the browser displays Y.jsp content, but the URL in the Address box of the browser still displays X.jsp
This leads me to reload problem, even though the page displays the "Mail is sent" message, the URL still shows X.jsp, and everytime the browser is reloaded, another mail is sent.
How to make the URL change to Y.jsp ?

One simple solution is not to use forward. You can use HTTP redirection rather than forward.

BISoapException when trying to embed BI report in a simple jspx page
I'm trying to embed BI report in a simple jspx page in a simple application (without security). When I tried to run the page, I'm getting BISoapException: The connection retrieval failed. But when I test the BI Presentation Services connection in JDEV, it connects successfully. The connection.xml and jspx content are shown at the bottom. Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not really sure why this error is showing up. I did not have any items in my content area. However, I just tested with another content area where I posted items, and the same problem is occurring. We have already set intermedia running, so the searching/indexing functions should be working.
The search navbar is a separate navbar from the default one associated with the content area. However, I still created it under that content area. -
"Errors on page" with simple JSF page
Hi
I wrote a very simple JSF page as shown below. It works as is with MyFaces. Now I tried to make it work with Sun RI as well.
Here's the problem: The page appears perfectly fine (it shows two columns of links). Only one single link works, though: the first one in the left column.
When I click on that first link, the action handler method ("userClick") is called and executed fine.
But when I click on any other link, the method is not called at all. All I get is an "error on page" message in the browser status bar. No log message on the command line or log file.
Am I doing something wrong? With MyFaces it works fine.

I don't think I need to show the backing bean with the userClick() method since the error is that this method is not even called (I added a system.out.println() to this method - which is never executed)
So the problem must be before

Hi all,
I am trying to create a simple search page using Jdeveloper 9.03 OA Framework that will allow the user to search for records in a view based on a few key columns.
Are there any resources available which show a step by step process for doing a simple search? I followed the User Guide as far as being able to create the EOs, VOs and the query page region but I dont know how to get the results of the VO in the query page.
There has got to be an easy way of getting such a apparently simple task done. I get the impression J Developer is unnecessarily complicated... Why couldnt there have been Wizards for common development tasks? It just seems unnecessarily confusing.
I'd appreciate any help on this, no matter how insignificant. Im at an impasse here.

I did that, and it worked, but with one major problem... For some reason, it only works on the seeded tables in the AK schema. Those work without any problem. I tried making my own test tables also in the AK schema but when I try to search non AK seeded tables. it errors out. Funny thing is it errors out only when there are records found. If there are no records found the page displays correctly.
Ive tried everything I can think of.
I made a two column table with primary keys, unique indexes, not null conditions, everyting that seemed special about the seeded AK tables to see if I could prevent the error from coming... no luck.
I suspect it is a bug... Has any one ever got this error before?

Simple 1 page document feeder sheet
Where can I find for purchase a simple 1-page manual document feeder sheet for my HP T45? I'm certain the make does not have to be HP! It's a simple clear mylar topped white sheet of paper that allows items such as newspaper article to be inserted under the mylar/clear plastic and then can be slide into doc feeder so can then be printed. Nobody from HP has been able help me to date. Thanks.

I think what you are looking for is a carrier sheet. Check out this link to be sure. They come in a variety of sizes and are somehow remarkably hard to find. I can't seem to find a lot of consumer links but I don't see why amazon etc wouldn't have something similar.

Can a .jsp contain more then one jsp:forward page if it's conditional.
ie. if condition true
forward to pageA
else
forward to pageB?

Deploying simple HTML page to WLS 10.3.6 fails with HTTP response code: 502
- I created a simple HTML page and want to test deployment to WLS 10.3.6 on Linux. I created WAR file and when using JDev 11.1.1.4.0 to deploy to WebLogic Server, it fails to deploy. Full errors/messages are:

NevilleHTTP response code 502 means temporarily overloaded.
I would say that we have to check the deployment error on the weblogic server logs located at <Domain_Home>\servers\dupe\logs\dupe.log
Check for any errors like OutOfMemory etc OR any deployment failures.
If possible, try accessing the console at http://dupe:7031/console
Check if you are able to successfully deploy your application using the console.
From the error it looks like the "dupe" server might not be healthy. So, the log file would really help here to get clues into the root cause.

Navigation is not working in forwarded page
HI ,
I am forwarding one jsp formatted JSF page to other page . index.jsp to home.jsp like <jsp:forward page="jsf/home.jsp"/> .I am having some af:commandImagelink in home.jsp page which is navigating to other pages .When I am accessing the home.jsp page directly the navigation to other page is working fine but when i am going thru index.jsp then it is staying in the same page .
Please suggest me if anybody have some idea .

Are you using ADF task flows? If so, you won't be able to forward to the JSP page directly, but you would need to forward to the task flow activity.

That'd be associated with trying to connect to the server(s) for one of the Adobe online subscription services.

These online services are separate and independent of the desktop application Acrobat.
It appears that you have had / are having internet connection issues.

How do I expand my simple JSP page to implement Connection Pooling?

I have a small SQL database which contains information about Students and a StudenBean which contains their attributes and appropriate get/set methods (which I haven't needed to use yet).
I want to write a simple JSP page which displays all the students details in one big table. I can do this using the basic prototyping method of adding the dataSource and driver details to the deployment descriptor (web.xml - I'm using the latest version of Tomcat by the way) and then accessing the database using JSP standard SQL actions.
Here's a snipet of what I've done (just an example, the final code works):

Now I want to upgrade! I want to access the dataSource using Connection Pooling and it's causing me a lot of trouble. I already have the required working classes/data such as ConnectionPool.java, ResourceManagerListener.java, the MySQL driver etc.
However, I don't know what the best way to setup the connection for my purposes would be and where I should do it.
Do I need to write a servlet or tag handler/custom action to establish the connection and access my bean through it? I would like to keep a similar sort of business logic as I already have developed i.e. be able to use actions in my JSP page to cycle through the database and print out each detail from the row.

Set up a JNDI data source for your app, according to these docs:

You'll have to put the right information into your web.xml and a context.xml. Once you've done that, your JSTL JSPs will simply use the connection resource automagically.

SIMPLE Database Design Problem !
Mapping is a big problem for many complex applications.
So what happens if we put all the tables into one table called ENTITY?
I have more than 300 attributeTypes.And there will be lots of null values in the records of that single table as every entityType uses the same table.
Other than wasting space if I put a clustered index on my entityType coloumn in that table.What kind of performance penalties to I get?

check the coloumn with WHERE _entityType='PERSON'
as there is is clustered index on entityType...there
is NO performance decrease.
there is also a clustered index on RELATION table on
relationType
when we say WHERE _entityType ='PERSON' or
WHERE relationType='CONTACTMECHANISM'.
it scans the clustered index first.it acts like a
table as it is physically ordered.I was thinking in terms of using several conditions in the same select, such as
WHERE _entityType ='PERSON'
AND LastName LIKE 'A%' In your case you have to use at least two indices, and since your clustered index comes first ...

Have you ever thought of using constraints in your
modell? How would you realize those?
...in fact we did.We have arranged the generic object
model in an object database.The knowledge information
is held in the object database.So your relational database is used only as a "simple" storage, everything has go through your object database.
But the data schema is held in the RDBMS with code
generation that creates a schema to hold data.If you think that this approach makes sense, why not.
But in able to have a efficent mapping and a good
performance we have thought about building only one
table.The problem is we know we are losing some space
but the thing is harddisk is much cheaper than RAM
and CPU.So our trade off concerated on the storage
cost.But I still wonder if there is a point that I
have missed in terms performance?Just test your approach by using sufficiently data - only you know how many records you have to store in your modell.
PS: it is not wise effective using generic object
models also in object databases as CPU cost is a lot
when u are holding the data.I don't know if I'd have taken your approach - using two database systems to hold data and business logic.
PS2: RDBMS is a value based system where object
databases are identity based.we are trying to be in
the gray area of both worlds.Like I wrote: if your approach works and scales to the required size, why not? I would assume that you did a load test with your approach.
What I would question though is that your discussing a "SIMPLE Database Design" problem. I don't see anything simple in your approach when it comes to implementation.

My simple form page isn't passing along the form variable I need to load my update page?
I have created a recordset on my update page that specifies a form variable filter that matches the form ID on my simple form page. When I enter the information on that page and submit, I go to the update page but nothing is loaded. I've tested the update page using a URL parameter and it loads perfectly. Why isn't my form variable working?
