Simple help: on a mac
Ok guys, I have a very simple question...but can't seem to
find an answer. I there anyway I can download flash for my mac?
I've found downloads for flash PLAYER on mac...but I don't really
understand the difference. All I'm looking for is the version of
flash in which I can make animations etc.
Is there any place I can download that for my mac?
please note that I'm extremely new to this, so don't throw
out any really technical stuff.
is there any simpler solutions? I don't really want to fork
out 600 dollars for the brand new premium version. All I need is
something that can create simply animations...mainly just for fun
in my spare time...is there anything like that compatible for mac
at a cheaper price? Under $50?

Kernel panics, message saying "You need to restart your computer.Hold down the Power..." I am in the middle of HSC very URGENT please help!! Mac keeps needing to restart!!
I looked in console and its saying that it may be because of Sophos Anti-Virus, i deleted and uninstalled all traces of Sophos but looked in console and this is some of the lines coming up:

Help need my mac pro for school..it has Grey screen..spinning wheel...
I think I have mountain lion OS X....I have done I think almost every suggestion I've seen in discussion boards.
Boot in recovery repaired disk...ok...repair disk permission...all repaired but one warning...I've tried to reinstall lion (without losing data) and it Got all the way to one minute to be done and then the time change back two hours and kept doing this all night long. I haven't done a back up due to no external for time machine.
I hope someone can please help me I've been going crazy for a week now trying to figure this out. I use my computer for school and I'm currently very behind from in my school work thank you

Try holding the Shift key while your Mac is starting to start into safe mode. Then, after starting in safe mode, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Library/StartupItems. Then, empty this folder and restart the Mac.
If your Mac starts after doing this, it was a problem with a third-party app that starts automatically when you turn on the computer. It won't start automatically anymore after doing that -

Hi can anyone help with a mac that had magnet put on it. I turned it on and then off but a white screen appears with a file with a question mark on it?
File icon with ? mark on it means it can't read from the hard drive. The hard drive is now wiped or bad. If just wiped then you will need to reinstall your operating system, OS X. If bad you will need to replace the drive.
Start with booting the computer from the OS X install DVD that came with your system. If the Mac came with Lion Pre-Installed then you use the Lion internet recovery system to reinstall (Hold down Command+r keys or Command+Option+r keys to boot the computer from over the internet to the Lion recovery HD system).

Help! Took mac to store today as DVD stuck in drive- 3 hour round trip!!! Told it was fixed and it now won't even switch on :( I press the on button and all I get is a continuos loading symbol and then it shuts down . Worse state than it was before :( :( not happy at all and not well enough to travel to get it fixed (my mum went today) anyone got any ideas please???
Oh ok - Thankyou for that. I will be ringing them tomorrow and I will not be happy ! And I'm hoping they can suggest what I'm suppose to do about getting it back to them as I can't take it in myself. I downloaded first the trial version of Photoshop, after 30 days finished but the icon still remained.
Now, when purchased a creative suite 4 Designe premium, installed, all programs are fine, just the photoshop not working, asking for serial number but when I type the right numbers, doesn`t accept.
What can I do? any idea?
to uninstall the photoshop and install again?

Excuise the frustration, but the cycle and attempt to get simple help here is almost impossable.
My three questions I think are simple...but I can't find the support to get the answers. The questions are:
1. I’m using Windows 7 professional it’s 64 bit…do I need to install the 32 bit CS5 as well?
2. I downloaded from the web CS5 do I need to keep in my computer the 1.69 Gig folder “Adobe CS5.1” which contains Photoshop CS5.1 Read Me and Adobe CS5.1, which has the exe file on it… or can I put it on a DVD? Would I have to do anything special to reinstall (if I ever needed to) with the DVD?
3. Now that everything is downloaded and installed do I need to keep Akamai_NetSession_Installer in my computer or may I uninstall and delete it?
Now that I've asked the question I have no instruction, or idea of where I go to get an answer if one is ever posted. This appears to me to be a very poor way to run a business...1. You do not need to install the 32-bit version.
2. The Photoshop installer you downloaded is what is on the DVD. There should be no special steps if you ever needed to reinstalld with the DVD, it would be like the install you just did.
3. You may uninstall and delete the Akamai_NetSession_Installer.

Having noticed you've posted the same question twice, once here, as well as

that gives people two chances to see if they can get it right.
Sometimes, issues such as remaining hard disk drive free space may come
into play when trying to install extra systems, update or more apps in a HDD,
that may be part of the problem in this instance. A 10GB HDD is not adequate.
Sure, I had an early white iBook 12" 500MHz with 576MB RAM & 10GB HDD;
for a time, it ran OK with OS 9.2.2 & Panther 10.3.9. (The OS 9.2.2 ran great.)
A lack of free space in the drive, and OS X demands for RAM along with its
automatic need to create Virtual Memory in hard drive free-space, made it run
a bit slow. A later cleaned up installation of Panther 10.3.9 without OS 9.2.2
did better; the working system plus some additional applications took 6GB.
A decent sized hard disk drive of at least 40GB capacity, and sufficient chip
RAM of as much as that computer's specifications indicate it can handle,
are both recommendations prior to an upgrade to an OS X version.
Hard disk drive format for OS X should be HFS+, not just HFS, for Panther.
The journaling should be turned on for Panther. In some cases, to do OS X
right, a new installation may be required; due to space and format issues.
To set up the hard disk drive using the booted OS X Installer's version of
Disk Utility, is the method to assure the hard drive is setup correctly; but that
would erase the content of the hard disk drive.
If the formatting is correct and there is enough free space on the drive to
initiate and complete the install, then maybe it could work without a full
new installation on an erased (disk utility option, overwrite zeros/reformat)
for awhile, at least. That old of a hard disk drive is likely at the end of service.
Presupposing the OS X 10.3.x install disc set is not from any other computer,
and knowing it should be a retail full install disc and not an upgrade-only set,
do you have the version number and information off the Panther installer discs
to share here, in case there is a discrepancy in this matter?
There are several reasons why it won't go past a certain point in the process of
installation. If there is a problem on the low-level of the hard disk drive, maybe
a sector error or damage, then the drive would need to be repaired; this may
also include the steps outlined generally above; where the drive would be wiped
and overwritten with zeros, reformatted, and so on, and be sure OS 9 Drivers
were installed if you start out with OS X install disc first, otherwise OS9 won't boot.
Some of the older computers do so well with OS 9.2.2, since it really does a lot
with very little resources; while OS X demands much more, including top quality
RAM and plenty of hard disk drive free space. The old ATA-2 HDD hardware
and a ceiling of only 512MB RAM limits that this can do.
You could probably see if the booted OS X installer's Disk Utility (accessed from
drop-down menu bar in Installer header) can use its Disk First Aid, to Repair Disk.
Could be something minor. However, now that some extra stuff is on that hard disk
drive, you should check and see how much remaining free space remains there.
This is critical and could compromise the entire operation as well as the OS 9 run.

Have you tried Safe Boot?
You also might reset PRAM and reset SMC.
Have you tried booting with the Recovery System? See its possibilities here.
From there you can make repairs to your primary startup partition.
Do you have a backup? If not, do you have an external drive large enough to back up your primary drive? It would be good to have one in case your drive needs repair or replacement.
