under Windows I used Ulead Photo Impact for simple image editing. Is there something comparable for OS X?

Hopefully a simple question. My father-in-law passed recently, leaving behind an unopened copy of CS 5.5 Master Collection Student and Teacher Edition for Macs. How can I find out if he registered this software without opening it? After finding out how much this software runs, I'd like to sell or return it if possible to give the money to my mother-in-law for funeral costs.

Re-installing Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac)?

How can I download and re-install Photoshop CS5 Extended Student and Teacher Edition (for Mac) for which I have a licence? I lost the previous version in a disk crash. I tried downloading the full Photoshop CS5 installer, but I was told I couldn't run the installer because I didn't have permission.

Why is the download "Not applicable" for my online purchase of Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition for Mac?

I purchased “Adobe Captivate 8 Student and Teacher Edition” for Mac on 7/31/14 and it is now 12/17/14 (only 5 months later) but it is showing as “Not applicable” when I go to download (maybe re-download) the program. I understood that I would be able to use the application on 2 computers, one at home and one at work. I think I’ve downloaded the program at home one time but have yet to install and activate it. I now have a new computer at work that can support that program and want to install the program on my office computer, but cannot download it again. Please advise.

It seems like that you have purchased a subscription for Captivate 8. In subscription you do not require any serial number. Subscriptions are activated on the basis of your Adobe Id. When user will install Captivate he has to sign in with the same Adobe Id under which they bought subscription. It will get activated after successful sign in during the installation.
As far as the installer is concern there is no difference in the trial version installer or purchased version installer. The installer is same for trial and purchased copy. All user needs to do is sign in during the installation if it is a subscription or use his serial number if it is a perpetual license or volume license.
You may download the trial version from the link mentioned above and then use your Adobe Id to activate the subscription.

I like Windows Explorer Image view .. you just open one file and left and right will scroll though .. can do it in full screen too.
I try a Photo+ and everything is ok, but again must select all pictures or folder to open many photos. I click to one photo in folder, Photo+ open only clicked photos

Can easily navigate using cursor keys. What I like is that as you move past the last image it automatically shows the next folder or zip. Ideal for quickly looking at pictures.
Also you can paint/airbrush pictures immediately...

Virtual PC is outdated and probably doesn't even run under Snow Leopard (since you're posting in the Snow Leopard forum).
For running Windows software next to Mac software, your current choices are Parallels Desktop, VMWare Fusion, VirtualBox, and others. All will run much faster than Virtual PC anyway.

Digital Editions for Mac Support for Sony eReaders

With Sony releasing the eBook Library 3.0 Software for Mac and PC today and, therein, providing an official Sony eReader driver for Mac (sony_prs kernel extension found in the 3.0 software installer), will Adobe be able to provide support for the Sony eReaders in a future version of Adobe Digital Editions for Mac? As far as I understood, the limitation on the Mac version stemmed from the fact that Sony itself did not officially support the Mac but with that now in the past when can we expect to see this support added in Adobe Digital Editions for Mac? Simple Image Gallery for iWeb

Hi there,
Hoping someone can help. I've been searching high and low for an incredibly simple image web gallery generator. It simply has to have a larger image to the left and 3/4 smaller thumbnails to the right which, when clicked on, will appear in the bigger window. That's it! I don't want any text on it at all - just on a white background. The intention is to then upload the individual galleries of my work and use iFrames within my iWeb created website to point towards the galleries.
Please can anyone help and point me in the direction of a good bit of software that will allow me to do this. I have no HTML experience to speak of.

...it has the larger image to the right, but I suppose someone here could tell you how to reverse that. And the image changes not on a click of a thumbnail, but on mouseover.

What's the best freeware image editor for Mac OS X 10.5.5?

Hi.
I noticed Mac OS X 10.5.5 doesn't come with an image editor (mainly for photographs) like Microsoft Windows' simple MS Paint (and free Irfanview to download and use). Are there similiar ones for Mac OS X? I was going to get Paint.net, but it has no Mac support. Gimp is nice but too complex and bloated. And yes, I did a Google search but got too many hits.

You can download the source and compile, but there are also Leopard binaries available for slightly less new versions.

Mine runs with the version of X11 that comes with Leopard.

I'M USING A MAC 10.4.11 AND PHOTO SHOP CS TO RETOUCH PHOTOS FOR MY NEW PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS, THE FINISH PHOTOS LOOK BEAUTIFUL ON MY MAC...,BUT WHEN I SAVE THEM TO A DISK AND VIEW THEM ON A PC THAT'S RUNNING WINDOWS,THEY LOOK AWFUL?
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?
I SAVE THEM AS JPEG... SO I DON'T REALLY GET WHAT IS HAPPENING TO CHANGE THE PHOTOS SO DRASTICALLY .
IS THERE SOME CONVERSION HAPPENING THAT I'M NOT AWARE OF ?
OR IS THERE A STEP THAT I'M SUPPOSED TO DO WHEN SAVING TO A CD.

Ann's absolutely right, Arabia.
Save your jpegs to the sRGB colour space. Adobe RGB is best if you are looking to print a faithful, good quality reproduction of what you are seeing on your screen ( provided you have a decently calibrated monitor ). sRGB is commonly used for images that will be most often used on the web. If you haven't calibrated and want to have some idea of the difference between most uncalibrated screens and a calibrated one, go to System Preferences -> Displays -> Color -> Calibrate and let the Mac lead you through it's own calibration routine. Use Gamma 2.2 ( 1.8 is no longer widely used for Macs ) and use your own judgement when doing the adjustments. Give your finished calibration a name and then use that one , until such time as you feel you should be using a calibration tool to do it for you.
All things being equal , your monitor should appear darker than at present. Your editing will then be influenced by the darker image that you see. This is a good thing , as most monitors are set way too bright.

Best photo editing for mac

Is there a "best" photo editing app for mac that may do a little more than iphoto? I'm interested in helping my photos to look a little better as far as lighting, contrast, etc. but not fake stuff like photoshop effects. I'm a newbie at this. Maybe I should just stick with iphoto?
