Simple MacBook Problem - I hope
I've purchased Windows XP and have installed it just fine. However, I can't seem to get connected to the internet. I got online in seconds in OSX mode but not XP. I'm connected using my ethernet cable, no wireless. I'm thinking I've not got some sort of drivers for the XP side maybe? Anyway, a bit of help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Sorry if this is not the proper forum...whats your regioanl setting. If its set to a region that uses a , instead of a . for decimal, that will do it.
Unfortunately in System settings, you can change date formats, and time formats, but not the numeric formats.

Out of the box, to use the function keys as function keys, hold down the fn key when you press the key. Otherwise, you get the picture function on the key. You can reverse this behavior in the Keyboard system prefs.

Hello, I've updated the iPhone I have got I have a problem I hope you respond to some of the applications no longer work, such as the safari and skype and many applications are no longer working with the ios7.0.4
Standard troubleshooting...
1. Try a Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the slider. Slide to power off. Restart by pressing the sleep/lock button until you see the Apple logo.
2. Try a Reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
3. Remove apps from Recently Used (multi-tasking) list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Swipe up on the app preview card to remove it from the list
- Press the home button when done.
4. If still a problem restore with your backup.
5. If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
6. If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
Just updated my iPhone 4 from IOS 6.1.3 to 7.1.2, I know I am behind the times, but I got there eventually! All seems well but I have one specific problem and hope someone can offer a helpful suggestion.
On opening the app "Find my iPhone" I add my password and sign in, to be greeted with a screen that says;
"Update Find My iPhone. A new version of Find My iPhone is available from the App. Store. You must install the update to continue using the app. Update now"
On hitting the "Update now" button I'm taken to the relevant page on the App Store, to be told that I cannot update as it needs IOS8 to be able to continue and as my iPhone is only a 4 cannot install IOS8.
I'm left going around in circles. The only thing would be to delete the app, but looks like I could not re-install the version I would need. Any body have any thoughts or suggestions? (Apart from updating my phone, I have a few months left on the contract!)

I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
Anything else I could try, or am I doomed!

Real simple xslt problem/question
Hi, i have a real simple xslt problem but i just cant figure out how to do it by looking at various examples on the net. i have a xml document and in it are some elements with a "result" tag name. i want to use xslt to reproduce exactly the same xml document except with an attribute called "id" added to those elements with a "result" tag name. i'm sure that theres a simple solution to it but i just cant figure it out. any helps greatly appreciated, thanks

nullI am not sure I understand what you are requesting, but ...
You can configure JDeveloper projects to include various libraries by default.
This is done by selecting menu Tools | Default Project Properties.../ Libraries tab.
You should define a library for your classes.
You can import any of the packages / classes from all the libraries which your project includes.
It would be incorrect for a tool to automatically add a bunch of import lines at the top of every file because each file should import what it needs and just as importantly, not import what it does not need depending on the component type (e.g. a servlet should not include javax.swing.* ).
An easy way to import elements into JDeveloper is to type in something like:
import java.
// and then type in Ctrl Space
and this launches the package browser, you can select packages or classes to import.
You can also do this at the variable declaratiton point such as typing in:
foo() {
Frame x
// Press Control Alt Space
and this will correctly change the type (Frame) to the type you select in the package browser and add the import statement.

MacBook problems with Snow base station - other laptops work fine
Hi,
I just purchased a new MacBook to replace an iBook G4 800.
My snow base station works fine with the old iBook G4 (which has an extreme card) and with a borrowed PowerBook G4 Aluminum 1.5 GHz (also extreme card) but will not work with my new Mac Book. Every time I try to connect - I receive an error "There has been an error accessing "my name" 's network. Sometimes it will connect, other times (most of the time), it will not.
My MacBook connects fine to my neighbors Linksys access points and our work Lucent access points (which are b also - snow is b).
I did a search and am reading other people having similiar problems. I was wondering if anyone has resolved their problems. I spent 2 plus hours on the phone with Apple yesterday. They are placing the blame on the older base station (snow) but it is obvious that snow is working fine for other computers.
TheresaI am still a little confused. I can be 2 feet from my base station and will keep hitting "try again" when trying to access my network and will get "an error has occurred" many times and eventually it will connect and I will have an incredibly strong signal. My MacBook will continue to have a great strong signal until it goes to sleep and then I will have a difficult time connecting again. My neighbors base station is a weak signal and I can easily join their network. Every time I connect, I have problems but once connected, it is great.
I guess it can be interference but I am now wondering if it is related to the snow/graphite base station only. This laptop has no problems joining other b base stations.
I spent hours on the phone with an Apple wireless support specialist the other night. He wants me to try an Extreme base station. He didn't indicate that he was aware of any MacBook problems (and he mentioned interference and we setup my laptop to only join my network and it didn't make a difference).
More to come.... IF anyone switched to a Extreme Base Station and that worked fine - please let me know. Though I sort of resent having a functional b base station that works with every other laptop and have to spend $200 towards another base station because of a new laptop. -
This is just a simple OOP problem that i cant decide on a best
implementation for.
im passing an object to an instance of, 'TabbedFrame', which is just
a frame with a Tabbed Pane in it that is holding custom panels.
however, these custom panels need access to the object being
passed to 'TabbedFrame' and to some methods in it.
i cant make them static however so how do i gain access to them?
is my only option to pass the 'TabbedFrame' to each panel?

As the title says, I problems I hope someone can help me with as I don't know who else to ask for this.
1. I tried to pre-order Dying Light for the Xbox One and during checkout the system cancelled my order saying that the store stock had been spoken for. However, I went in once the game released to the same store and was able to purchase the game no problem so in effect I just missed out on my $10 pre-order certificate.I wanted to pre-order but it wouldn't let me - I have never seen this error before.

I read this to say that the phone is not jailbroken and the OP does not want to jailbreak it.
The only way to unlock it is to contact the carrier it is locked to, and ask them to unlock it.
You are also in the unfortunate position that the iPhone is not supported in Iran due to the international embargo. -
2007 MacBook, Problem Loading The OS X Disc
Hello all, I am fairly new to using Macs so I am hoping this issue is just a simple resolve for most of you...
A few weeks ago my MacBook froze up while I was on the internet (fantasy football draft to be exact). The colorful spinning wheel came up so I figured it would work itself out and be fine. After 20 minutes of this I decided to just power the MacBook down using the power button. So I did that and when I went to restart it, it wouldn't load past the grey Apple screen with the circular loading graphic. So I mildly freaked out upon seeing this and after not being able to find any help that was working decided to take matters in to my own hands...which was a mistake.
Ultimately that isn't the issue I'm facing now so I'll just go through the bones of what I did. Basically I turned the MyMac part of the hard drive in to the Mac OSX disc (stupid yes I know). I took it to apple care but they would not look at it since it was too old, but the guy thought it was the hard drive. I didn't think this to be true because the CPU still verified the hard drive being intact.
So I took it to a local computer repair place where the guy confirmed that it wasn't an issue with the hard drive but that I had made it so that when the computer goes to boot, it tries to from the OS X cd, even if it isn't in the drive. He said he could fix it for $150 and that he had to just basically re set up the OS. I decided against paying that much to do it because I figured I could find the steps online.
After some searching I was able to find how to delete that partition on the hard drive. And I have done so and now the computer boots up to the Mac OS X utility page instead of the CD.
The issue I am facing now is that when I put the CD into the drive, it acts as though its gonna load but then the MacBook just shuts down, black screen and all. I have tried loading it by holding down C, and also by selecting it after holding down Option, but it just does the same thing. I had loaded the disc before any of this happened so I don't believe it is an issue with the actual CD.
This is driving me nuts because I feel like I am pretty close to getting this thing back and up and running, but this bump stands in the way. One of the weird things to me is that when it loads the Mac OS X Utility, it gives me the option to install Mountain Lion, which is not what I had or use...but when I click it, it says it needs to be connected to the internet.
I know this was a pretty long winded post, so I apologize in advance for that. I just desperately hoping someone on here can assist me or direct me to where there is a post involving the same problem ( I could not find one). Thanks in advance people!!Sorry, what I meant was that where it says "Mac OS X Install DVD" is where it's suppose to be the "MyMac" part. And when I first made the mistake of switching it, the computer would boot up as if the install DVD was in it, even when it wasnt. So when I say that I erased it, I mean I deleted that part, in hopes of making it not boot as the DVD. And now it doesnt, but only boots to Mac OS X Utilities.
I have the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Version 10.6.3 DVD for it.
When I click on the "disk1" it looks like this, I clicked each of the options also to show...
And when I click on the main Hard Drive thing on the Utility screen, this is what comes up under the partition which has me mildly concerned...

I'm dabbling with DLL writing and can't figure out how to pass a string to a
DLL. As far as I can see, it should be simple.
My DLL function, in the DLL "test.dll", is simply

Instead of LPCTSTR I've also tried the more conventional "char *WinName",
and a few others. All give the same error; "The exception Priviledged
Instruction occurred in the application at location (blah)." The error
message doesn't seem too specific; exactly the same thing happens if I
deliberately copy some text to an uninitialised pointer.
I'm calling the function using a "Call Library Node", passing a
pre-generated string in the form of a C string pointer. The calling
convention is set to "winapi" but doesn't seem too relevant.
If I remove the string argument and change the function definition to take
(void) then it works, in that I can put integers in the return code and pass
them back to Labview, so it's the passing of the string that's the problem.
However, if I have more code in there and I use the Visual C++ debugger, the
error message is only generated on hitting the "return" line, and I can see
the string that has been passed in when I look at "WinName" in the debugger.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

I am going to throw some random thoughts that may help you in your situation:
- I avoid to use VC's wizard. It gives (and gave me) a lot of headaches. All it does it to add a lot of garbage to your project that nobody understand.
- If your source file is a .cpp, wrap your function prototypes inside the extern "C" declaration.
- Always initialize every variable in LabVIEW side. For example, for your function you should wire an empty string in the input side of the "Call Library Node" for the "WinName" variable.
- I claim ignorance in this one, but seems to simplify my projects. Exclude rarely-used Windows header files by adding the following statement before your headers "include":
#define VC_EXTRALEAN
