Simple movie question with my I pod

I have two movies in my Ipod and have had no problems with anything. But I would like to put new movies on and take these off. I don't want to lose them. What is the procedure for moving them for some sort of storage and then bringing them back if I want to watch them? thank you for any ideas

You should have your movies in your iTunes library and then you can sync which ones you want onto your ipod.

  • Simple tiny Question, with terminal

    When you do the unix command *sudo rm -ri* (delete info on all drives), as Mac OS X eats itself, When it deletes Applications, terminal will be still open, and when it deletes the whole system and everything, the dock, menubar, icons, are still intact so what kind of method does it do to delete files? _something different: I've heard that if you open a document with an application (word opening: example.doc), delete the file using secure empty trash, the file will be still open, but once you close the window, you can never open it again._

    Well, you wouldn't even need to use "Secure Empty Trash". Just putting the file into the trash and emptying it would be enough. As long as the file's contents are in memory, you can do what you want with it (except save it, since you're likely to get a "File not found" error when the application can't find the original file). Then, if you close the file without saving it to a new file, it'll be gone forever, just as it would if you closed the window and dragged it to the trash and emptied the trash.

  • Simple serialization question with objects

    Hi, I'm really new to the whole concept of serialization and what I want to do is create a blackjack game that can have up to 4 people playing, connected to a server that will act as the dealer. I need to be able to serialize some objects from the players to the server and have the server make some changes then send the objects back.
    However every example I've run across dealing with something of this nature involves writing to a file so I'm not sure what the code to do this would look like.
    My best guess would be ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream but I don't understand how I can tell these streams that I just want to send the serialized object back and forth.
    If anyone could explain to me a bit better how these streams work, or show me roughly what the code might look like, I would really appreciate it.

    It doesn't matter whether you write to a file or a socket or a byte array or whatever. That stuff is what's under the ObjectOutputStream. When you create the OOS, you wrap it around some other stream (e.g. a FileOutputStream in the examples you're talking about I guess). To send something to a server, you'd instead just wrap it around the OutputStream of a Socket that's talking to that server. Everything else is the same.
    Whether you use raw sockets or some other means is up to you, but that's completely separate from the serialize/deserialize process.

  • I have a simple movie clip/ button question

    I have a simple movie clip on my scene 1 frame 1.  Inside that movie clip I have another movie clip, with a button on top that controls that mc.  Also have another movie clip with a button on top that I would like to take me back to scene 1, frame xyz.  I cannot remember how to do it.

    Well, I don't know the code to use, so I haven't tried anything unfortunately.  I havent typed code in the past couple of years, so I vaguely remember having to type in something pertaining to a _root or something like that ...here are a few screen shots, like I said, the button nested in the movie clip I need to take me back to the main page and goto a different frame.  I only have one scene, as2,
    on scene 1, the movie clip is the cube at bottom left.  inside the mc the button i need to take me back is bottom right-thanks!

  • Itunes 9.0.2.25 skips with simple movements

    I just rebuilt my system and installed the newest version of Itunes and now Itunes skips with just simple movements such as, opening a web browser, moving Itunes from one screen to another(dual monitors), clicking the "Get Info" tab on a song. I am stumped because I have never had this problem on my old system. Any suggestions would be greatly appreicated.

    I think I have progress. My machine doesn't do the digital stutter anymore. It still skips ever so slightly, like a bad CD, but, it's much much better than before.
    I updated the BIOS. I had to use the @Bios utility. It wouldn't accept a downloaded file from Gigabyte's website saying something like wrong part number on the dl'd file. I tried it 2x. But doing it through the @bios utility worked for me.
    The cursor hang is gone too.
    I suspected my ATI4670, I was going to pull that out next or downgrade to an older driver or swap to an older nvidea I have around, but it think this will be ok for now. Lemme know how it goes for you.

  • Drag and drop simple ".mov" files, into 2 dif. browsers, no longer working

    -
    Did something, that caused my main drag and drop, of simple ".mov" files, into 2 different browsers - "Safari", Version 3.0.4, and "Camino", Version 1.6.8, .. to stop working.
    To be clear, this is regarding, just some simply ".mov" files which I have generated. (Individual hourly, weather images - like; in sequence. Generated, in / with, QuickTime - itself.)
    At this point, where dropped from a folder, into "Camino", .. it routes these back to my main desktop. - (Before the problem, .. played them, in browser.)
    "Safari", only brings up the folder that the main file is in — within a separate folder window.
    (As with "Camino", played these in browser, previously.)
    (Have gone into "preferences", either browser, .. and can't figure things from there.)
    Problem occurred follow two different downloads / installations
    "DjVu Browser Plug-in"
    http://www.caminova.net/en/downloads/download.aspx?id=1
    and, ..
    "Flash Player" (.. for Mac OS 10.4 - 10.5)

    Have tried, either "uninstalling", .. or "trashing" these.
    (Uninstalled, "Flash Played" - with specific "Uninstalled" app.. / "Trashed" "DjVu Browser Plug-in".)
    Any help, certainly appreciated.

    you titled "simple quick question"...
    .. complicated to answer..
    a) the TermsOfUse of the iTS don't allow any processing of purchased files, these are "copy protected"..
    b) iM has a voice-over function..
    c) iM is a video-edit app.. easy to use... just learn to handle it...
    d) iM allows to "extract" audio (=muting the original audio, adding your own..)
    e) to learn iM, spend some time here: http://www.apple.com/ilife/tutorials/imovie/index.html
    f) use pencil and paper first! WRITE and scribble, what shall happen when in your movie/parody... make a script, draw a storyboard .. THEN launch iM.. in other words: think first, then edit.. iM is just a tool, it does not "create"... Picasso needed a papertowel and half a stencil to create art....
    g) to get comfortable with iM, start with your own, small, short (3min!) project... import some stills, edit them, add a funny voice-over, add sounds, add music... good? make a bigger one...
    h) .. in our Lecture II, we teach you how to import shows from TV, youtube, wherever..

  • How do I make simple movies for my website?

    I would like simple movies to start playing when navigating between pages on my website. For example, I would like 3-4 movies to start playing simultaneously as thumbnails and clicking on the thumbnail would start the movie selected.
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

    In general I say you can do anything you can think of with Flash, within the limits of the program, and your idea seems feasible.  But the details of how you go about doing it are to broad to offer anything except to say to try getting it going and when you run into a problem making it work, post again with specifics of what you've tried and what is failing.

  • 4 Simple Flash Questions that Are Stumping Me!

    What is the Frame Rate for Web Animations
    Q1. I am making an animation which will be played on the web. What is the default frame rate (fps) of Flash CS5? And what is the frame rate of for web?
    Q2. My animation needs to be 30 seconds long. So at 15 fps that would mean I need to use 600 frames in Flash?
    How Do I Mask everything so all I see is the Content on the Stage?
    I have a wide image that extends past my movies stage size so when I preview my movie the image is visible. How do I mask out anything that extends past my movies window size? I believe I can create a layer named "mask" and place it above all other layers, but I forget how to make the mask. Any help is appreciated.
    How to Fade a Graphic
    I have a graphic element (some type) and I want it to fade from 0% to 100%. In older versions of Flash I could just select the symbol and then set it's alpha value to 0%, move a few keyframes and then set the alpha to 100%. Voila! but now it doesn't seem to work that way. How can I do this in CS5?

    Ned, it says 24 fps which means there is 24 frames per second so each 24 frames is 1 second.

    1 You can create your character as a movieclip and copy/paste that movieclip from one file to another. 2. One way to create a movieclip is to copy all the frame of the animation's timeline (select them all, right click the selection, choose Copy Frames), then create a new movieclip symbol (Insert -> New Symbol...etc) right click on its only keyframe and chhose Paste Frames.  THat will put all the layers and frames you copied into the movieclip The only way to come close to being certain about the timing of you animation is to use code to keep track of the time, something like getTimer()..  The frame rate that a file plays at is not a reliable means of dictating the time it takes due to a variety of factors which include the amount of content you are trying to process and performance limits of the user's machine.

  • Simple test case with NL and table order .

    Hi,
    did some tests on my 9.2.0.8 and got few questions:
    SQL> select count(*)  from p;
      COUNT(*)
          2000
    SQL> select count(*)  from c;
      COUNT(*)
          1000
    SQL> select count(*) , id from p group by id having count(*) > 1;
    no rows selected
    SQL> select count(*) , id from c group by id having count(*) > 1;
      COUNT(*)         ID
           100         10
    SQL> desc p
               Name
        1      ID number
        2      FILLER varchar2(100)
    SQL> desc c
               Name
        1      ID number
        2      FILLER varchar2(100)
    Got 10046 traces:
    case A
    select /*+ use_nl(p) leading(c) */ *
    from
    p , c where p.id = c.id and c.id in (10)
    Rows     Row Source Operation
        100  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID P
        201   NESTED LOOPS
        100    TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID C
        100     INDEX RANGE SCAN C_ID (object id 411255)
        100    INDEX RANGE SCAN P_ID (object id 411256)
    Case B optimal
    select /*+ use_nl(c) leading(p) */ *
    from
    p , c where p.id = c.id and c.id in (10)
    Rows     Row Source Operation
        100  TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID C
        102   NESTED LOOPS
          1    TABLE ACCESS BY INDEX ROWID P
          1     INDEX RANGE SCAN P_ID (object id 411256)
        100    INDEX RANGE SCAN C_ID (object id 411255)So its simple nested loop with postponed inner table access .
    Why in row source operation we have got 102 rows (NL level) ? (It means NL was executed 102 times ?)
    And why 201 in other case ?
    Regards
    GregG

    I am not sure about the calculation/reason for those A-ROWS figures but the NL operation executes only once (but accesses inner rowsource 100 times in case one and once in second case) in both cases (which is as expected).
    A closer test case (to OP) is
    SQL> select * from v$version ;

  • Simple performance question

    Simple performance question. the simplest way possible, assume
    I have a int[][][][][] matrix, and a boolean add. The array is several dimensions long.
    When add is true, I must add a constant value to each element in the array.
    When add is false, I must subtract a constant value to each element in the array.
    Assume this is very hot code, i.e. it is called very often. How expensive is the condition checking? I present the two scenarios.
    private void process(){
    for (int i=0;i<dimension1;i++)
    for (int ii=0;ii<dimension1;ii++)
      for (int iii=0;iii<dimension1;iii++)
        for (int iiii=0;iiii<dimension1;iiii++)
             if (add)
             matrix[i][ii][iii][...]  += constant;
             else
             matrix[i][ii][iii][...]  -= constant;
    private void process(){
      if (add)
    for (int i=0;i<dimension1;i++)
    for (int ii=0;ii<dimension1;ii++)
      for (int iii=0;iii<dimension1;iii++)
        for (int iiii=0;iiii<dimension1;iiii++)
             matrix[i][ii][iii][...]  += constant;
    else
    for (int i=0;i<dimension1;i++)
    for (int ii=0;ii<dimension1;ii++)
      for (int iii=0;iii<dimension1;iii++)
        for (int iiii=0;iiii<dimension1;iiii++)
           matrix[i][ii][iii][...]  -= constant;
    }Is the second scenario worth a significant performance boost? Without understanding how the compilers generates executable code, it seems that in the first case, n^d conditions are checked, whereas in the second, only 1. It is however, less elegant, but I am willing to do it for a significant improvement.

    I guess my real question is, will the compiler optimize the condition check out when it realizes the boolean value will not change through these iterations, and if it does not, is it worth doing that micro optimization?Almost certainly not; the main reason being that
    matrix[i][ii][iii][...]  +/-= constantis liable to take many times longer than the condition check, and you can't avoid it. That said, Mel's suggestion is probably the best.
    but I will follow amickr advice and not worry about it.Good idea. Saves you getting flamed with all the quotes about premature optimization.

  • Converting mov files with Quicktime Player for iDevices

    I wasn't sure if should post this under iPad or here or at all as it is about coding, but it is about coding for Apple iDevices that can't display Flash, using Quicktime Player or QT Player 7 Pro:
    I'm trying to add the ability for Apple iDevices that can't display tutorials I created in Flash, to see them with H.264. I read that I can simply open the original tutorial that luckily is a .mov file with Quicktime Player 10 in Snow Leopard and File > Save For Web and QT will convert to H.264 and also output several files needed to upload to your server.
    But the only options are for iPhone, iPhone (cellular) and Computer. I assume an iPod would use the iPhone file, but iPad didn't exist yet.
    I chose iPhone and Computer for my test. I got 2 .m4v files a .jpg, a small .mov and a .html page with the code I needed to copy/paste to my target html page.
    Uploaded the files and could see the tutorial movie with my iPad fine. Using FireFox, I saw the beginning of the movie, then got the beachball. After a long wait, I tried a force quit and found that my Mac Pro was crashed too so had to hard shut down. Hate that.
    Rebooted the computer. Tried accessing with Safari this time and it worked fine.
    I also own Quicktime Player 7 Pro pre Snow Leopard (I'm running Snow Leopard now) and tried the conversion with it and noticed a few more config choices, like for frame rate. But the resulting code was about 29 lines of code with expected parameters versus 2 lines of code in the QT Player code which actually really surprised me. With both apps they have JavaScript references for the head tab to files on Apple's library on their site.
    So.. I'm wondering why FF and my computer crash, I did output for computer as well as iPhone. And what to do for FF users and the fact that there's no specific output for iPad, am I OK just using the iPhone output since I can see the file OK on my iPad test.
    Last, I've been reading about HTML5 versus Flash, but assume that what both my QT apps are outputting is HTML4. In the QT Player code there isn't even an embed tag, let alone the video tag I've read about, just a href to the exported Saved For Web .mov file, which I assume must point to the .m4v files that QT outputs and puts in the same folder as the other files, but there's no direct reference to them.
    Sorry for the length, or if this isn't the place for these questions, but I do want to get this right before I convert about 20 tutorials
    I wonder if I should wait until Lion and see if QT is changed to fix the FF crash and adds output for iPad?
    One last thing: when you access the converted file with an iPad, first you see a jpg of the first frame with "Click to Play" in the center. When you do, you get the movie with a play triangle which you have to press to actually start the movie. But when you access the same html file with Safari, all you have to do is click the "Click to Play" and the movie starts as expected. Bug?

    QuickTime X and QuickTime Player Pro create slightly different html code (but it all works about the same way). The "click to play" image file, a "reference" movie, multiple versions for different devices and the html code to preview the page and use as copy/paste into your Web page.
    QuickTime X has fewer options than QuickTime Player Pro. The iPhone preset works just fine on the iPad.
    Your Firefox crash may have been just coincidence and I doubt it was caused by the page code.
    You may want to wait a while longer for the HTML 5 code because browser support is still in the learning stage and millions of PC users still use out of date browsers.
    The reference movie points to the different versions of the file. The code "reads" the device and serves up the correct version for it.
    I don't own an iPad but I suspect it works like my iPod Touch. All of my QuickTime files have the play "triangle" so the click to play image style page requires two clicks on it.

  • Cannot import .MOV files with Premiere Elements 12: generic error. Using Windows 8.1 (64b)

    This question was already on the forum for older version of Premiere and Windows. I'm making my videos (.MOV format) with the digital camera Casio EX-ZR400.
    I have no any problems with Photoshop Elements 12 for pictures produced by this camera.

    Dngineer
    What is the source of your .mov file..(brand/model/settings of the camera that recorded the video)......what is the video and audio compression and frame rate?
    Are you working with the 12.1 Update of 12? If not, please do so using an opened project's Help Menu/Update. Both QuickTime and Premiere Elements need to be run from a User Account with Administrative Privileges. Are you doing that?
    Narrowing things down
    Are all files with the .mov file extensions the only video files that you cannot import into the program? Any exceptions?
    When you open Premiere Elements 12/12.1 to the Expert workspace and go to Publish+Share/Computer/QuickTime, does that choice have its presets?
    Let us start here and decide what next based on your reply.
    Thank you.

  • Move-in with a wrong Acct.det.id

    Hi,
    Please help me in rectifying a error :
    There is a consumer who was moved-in with a wrong acct.det.id, after move-in if we correct it by going through es21, is it a right procedure or should we do reverse move-in and then move-in with a correct acct.det.id?
    Please guide.
    Thanks and Regards

    If you are cleared then you can change the account detemination id.But i guess it is not correct.
    Go with reversal move-in and change the account determination id it will sound better.
    When you will do reversal move in : When we are created any contract by wrong information then to rectify that we will go for reversal move-in in simple words.
    Regards,
