Simple portal with tree navigation. How?

I created some portal with tree navigation. But I believe there is more
common way than mine. Can anybody give me example of it. I mean more simple
than in WebLogic Platform 8.1 Evaluation Guide.
I need portlet with navigation tree in the left part and portlet with
content in right part.

How much work is it to create a custom flash player with chapter navigation

I am bidding on a job to do a simple instructional video that will be about 2 minutes in length. The client wants me to put the video in a flash player that has some buttons on it that a user can click on to go to a specific step. The instructions will have, for example, 10 steps, so they want to be enable the view to click on any one of the step numbers to jump to that point in the video.
I did a google search for flash programmers who would quote me on how much they would charge me to create the flash player after I sent them an encoded video. The only company that bothered to give me a quote said that it would be 5 to 7 thousand dollars for them to create a flash player with navigation for me. I was thinking that this would be like a 2 or 3 hour job for someone who knows flash. Is it really that time-consuming to create a flash player with chapter navigation?
Am I starting to think that I am in the wrong business if you guys are getting $5k to $7k to set up a relatively simple player to put on a web page.
I've got the Master collection but have never wanted to take the time to learn flash. But if I could charge that much for jobs, maybe I better learn!

I don't really know how to do this but I've seen some things that make me think it isn't that hard to do at all.
You should be able to install "cue points" when you encode the video in the Media Encoder.
I'm sure there's a very simple way to make links which would target those cue points.

With Premiere CC when I try to do a selection (click... drag... release the click) very often it stop way before the end of the move I'm swinging the Magic Mouse. I taught that the mouse clicking was defective and went to get a new Magic Mouse after lots of frustration. Today, I have an edit to do it it does the SAME thing !!

Opened all the lights and taught I've trow the new mouse to the garbage and was using the defective mouse again... no !! - ??
Actually, the bran new mouse is doing the same thing. What I understand after investigating on the motion and watching carefully my fingers !! - is that when I click I have to keep my finger at the EXACT same place on the mouse... drag and release and it's fine. If I click by pushing on the mouse and my finder is moving of a 1/32th of a millimeter, it will release and my selection will be to redo. You can understand my frustration ! - 75$ later... same problem, but I know that if I click with about 5 pounds of pressure and trying to pass my finger through the plastic of the mouse, it you stay steady and make it !
The problem is that scrolling is enable while clicking and it bugs.
How to disable it ??

sorry but the Magic Mouse is just useless with the new Adobe Premiere CC and since I'm not the only one but can't find answer this is really disappointing. This mouse is just fantastic and now I have to swap from a USB mouse to the Magic Mouse every times I do some editing. My USB mouse if hurting my hand somehow and I want to got back to the Magic Mouse asap. Please - for sure there is a simple solution !

Is there a simple example, I can see how to connect to a db using Flash 8 and actionscript? (not with components)

I have been looking all over for a simple "hello world"
example, on how to connect to a database, and pass a param, and
return a dataset. I would like one that does not use components.
(Actionscript only). That uses ColdFusion 7.x and Flash 8. Can
anyone point me to one?

Lost with "Trees" how to???

Hi guys!
My goal is to rebuild something like psv2 (business event menue) in web dynpro.
But I'm really getting lost with "trees" there. Actually i have no idea how to start and handle trees.
I can't have a look at the WDR_TEST_EVENTS because this services are somehow disabled in our environment,
Does someone have some good Tutorials (step by step) how to work with trees?

I couldn't find any step-by-step tutorials on the subject. Although you may have already found it, the online help link has a decent amount of details:

Also even if you can't run the sample application (probably just because the service node is deactivated - you can go to SICF and activate it), you can still study the source code.
Do you think that you will be needing a very dynamic tree structure (in which case you would model a recursive node context) or do you know the tree structure at design time (in which case you simply model that structure in the context)?

I have a portal home page with a navigation

I have a portal home page with a navigation bar that is accessible to the public. This site also contains information that can only be accessed by privileged user. Therefore, I have a login/logout icon on the page.
The problem that I am currently facing is that when I go to the page without logging in, the navigation bar is not visible. The only thing that is visible on the navigation bar are the links but without the labels. Labels or texts that are not links are visible. When I log in, only then is the navigation bar and its contents visible.
Can someone help me resolve this problem? Is it a "style" problem or is it "security" or "rights" problem?

Go to Settings in Chrome.
Then in On Startup either check the Open the New Tap pag, Continue to where left off, or edit Open a specific or set of pages. It appear you have the last one checked and it is opening up that page.

How can I replace the Portal with completely new Flash website?

Can I replace the Portal with completely new Flash website? My customer do not want the JSP UI. Instead, he wants a completely new designed Flash site. Is it possible to do it? How can I deploy a new portal to cover the current one?

If you have a look at some of the code examples which do the equivalent of site maps, you could in theory replace the whole portal desktop with some sort of Flash framework which reads the user's role structure at run time.
I think it is useful to remember that the SAP portal is primarily a business application launchpad. It does that very well. Trying to make it into a Flash launchpad will be challenging.

PDF Extract with CR XI SP2 can't contain the tree navigation.

During the training, I attend at BO on Crystal Report XI SP2, when I made a PDF export, I was allowed to choose if I want the Tree Navigation or not in the PDF file.
Currently my report ".rpt" are set-up with a tree navigation, but there is no the "Checkbox" on the Export Window for PDF.
Are they any set-up required on Crystal Report XI SP2

Hi
By defat, you should get the Check box for "Create bookmarks from group tree". In case you are not getting that, you can check the following:
1. Click on Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Select Crystal Reports XI R2 and click on Change.
2. You would get the CR set up dialog box. Click on Add/Remove.
3.Exapand the Export Support ->Click on the drop down of Acrobat PDF Format -> Click on Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive.
4.Click on Next -> Next -> Finish.
Restart Crystal Reports.

Is it possible to run / execute this main from within workshop?

In SP2 we've made it very easy to automatically set the main class name
when you first try to run a class in a Java project that doesn't have
already have debugging configured.
More generalized ways to easily run a class with a main method are
already on the list for the next release.

Content Item Typ: Tree Navigation Link

Hi,
I was told that there is one Tree Navigation Link in the content item types. However I can't see it in the page group configuration.
I am using oracle 9iAS 9.0.2, portal 9.0.2??, JPDK v2 July one.
By the way, how can I know the portal version? I didn't do the installation. Everything comes with the oracle 9iAS installation. I did upgrade the JPDK.

There is currently no item type that does a tree-style navigation.
A new tree-style navigation portlet is coming soon from the Portal Integration Solutions team.
There are also a couple of navigation portlets available from the Knowledge Exchange. I've tried this one and it works great.
There are also some great navigation and search extensions available from Oracle Consulting.
To find the Portal version number, look on the Builder Page, Admin tab, General Settings. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Detailed Tree Navigation

Friends,
I have to develop a custom detailed tree navigation wich will start at the first level.
In our new design the Top Level Navigation doesn't exists.
The initial nodes will start collapsed.
I think I'll have to create a new jsp but I'm new at portal customization.
Can anyone have some example or tutorial that can help me in this task ?

1) Develop Navigation tree via JSP - using NavigationTagLibrary Taglibs - Please refer to the following blogs by Sven Kannengiesser, the provided example demostrate the usage of the NavigationTagLibrary and the sucker fish drop down.
EFP: Working with the new Taglibs - Part 3
2) Develop Navigation tree via AbstractPortalComponent - You can find code example in NWDS's help content on how to builde a Sitemap. This sample shows how to use portal services to populate navigation node. You can blend in your HTML, CSS and JS on top of this sample to create your detailed navigation.
From the NWDS menu bar -> Help Contents ->SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio Documentation ->Portal Development Manual->Go and Create->Creating a Site Map
3) Develop Navigation tree via Webdynpro - Using Portal Services - com.sapportals.portal.navigation.INavigationService to get portal navigation node and bind these node to webdynpro Tree UI.

I need help to import and synchronize HCM pagelets with Interaction Hub, how can I do that? The default page "Select Remote Content" of the WorkCenter "Unified Navigation WorkCenter" is not working as well, when I run the import/sync button I get the following error message:
Integration Gateway: General Connection Failed (158,10836)
This error is thrown when there is no valid response.
Possible errors include:
Bad gateway URL
Sync Service Timeout set and Service actually timed out.
Java exception thrown - Check Application Server for possible Java exception

Do you have integration configured between the two systems? It sounds like you don't from the error. Here is a walk-through on setting up Unified Navigation although it assumes you have integration already working. If you haven't done that, it's documented a hundred different places.
