Simple Question...how to import a playlist to my iTunes library?

I have been trying to get this right. I have some songs on limewire and Windows Media Player and want to import them to my iTunes library. Some of the songs popped up on there...how I dont know. I have created playlists of the songs I want to import already. I am clicking (in iTunes) on File, then Import. I am then going to My Music>My Playlists and selecting the playlist I want to import and clicking Open. Then my window goes away and nothing happens. No new playlist on my iTunes page or anything. What am I doing wrong? I have tried selecting other playlists and it doesnt work on any of them. Help? Please? Thanks!

After importing my itunes library from a Windows 7 sledded HDD, I have all my music etc but no playlists.
The kb article that explains the importing of the library files (itl and .xml) give some warnings about doing this import.
I can see both the xml file and a number of recent itl files on the sledded drive.
Am I going to mess anything up by importing these? It's possible that some of the songs the playlists pointed to are no longer in iTunes (I deleted some beore the import). Is this going to cause a problem.

Assuming your relocated library is now at *Z:\iTunes Media*, for example, copy the library files that you restored onto drive C: (iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel & Album Artwork folder - ignore the .xml) into the parent of this folder, i.e. Z:\, then click the icon to launch iTunes and *immediately press and hold the SHIFT key* until presented with an option to choose or create a library. Choose the library at Z:\ - all should be well. If I guessed wrong just use your actual media folder & parent of that media folder as approptiate.

Is there anyway to take the songs off my iPod that I synced onto it from one computer and put them on another computer that I have also authorized? I have tried a couple different ways, and can't get it, so if there is a way to do this, I would be happy to find out. Thank you in advance.

Go back a couple pages in this forum to an article about moving songs to a new laptop and using your i-pod as a hard drive. It might solve your problem.

The registry method does not work with 8.1. I found this out the hard way. Doing it on 8.1 will leave you reinstalling the OS if you didn't do a SRP beforehand.

It's actually even easier than using Save As to see the full path to the currently open document. Just do a "Secondary click" on the document title in its window's title bar.
Like you, I relied upon Save As my whole life to check a file's location and considered it a must-have capability. Turns out it's even faster to use the single-click method to reveal the full path to the open document. It displays the entire path to the current document starting from the level of your Mac, and works for files stored on drives as well as iCloud.
If you're not sure how to do a secondary click, go into System Preferences, select Trackpad, Point & Click to find the current preference for secondary click on your Mac. If you happen to have a mouse with more than one button, it's probably the right button. As a trackpad user, I check the box to "Click or tap with two fingers," so a simple two finger tap on the title of an open document reveals its full path. This feature actually has been around for a very long time.
Note that this is not the same thing as the Autosave and Versions menu, which is exposed using a little drop down triangle to the right of the title. There is no visual clue for the presence of this feature - you just have to know it's there, probably because this feature goes all the way back to pre-OS X days.

No need to "import". Just find the photo in iPhoto (i.e. within the application), click it once so it's highlighted with a blue outline, then select Edit menu > Copy (or just ⌘-C). Go to Address Book, select the contact, click the Edit button at the bottom, click once on the blank photo icon so it's highlighted with a blue outline, then select Edit menu > Paste (or just ⌘-V).
FYI, the original iPhoto images are stored as individual files, in ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library/Originals/subfolders.

I imported music from a CD into my compter at work and when I got home and went to my iTunes account none of the songs were in my library. I also noticed that on my Work computer there were a couple songs that I had to click on the little 'cloud' icon before I could listen to them (these were not songs I imported they were songs that were already in my library). Not sure if this makes semse...help.

Can someone tell me how to import a photo from my iPhoto library into Photo Shop Elements 11. When I am in Photo Shop Elements and I go to import the only option is to import from a camera. Not sure what you are trying to do
If you want to use PSE as an editor for iPhoto then set it in the iPhoto preferences (you need to search the forums for the exact settings - they are not obvious)
The general answer to yoru question is to import a photo form iPhoto to any other program is to select the photo in iPhoto and export to the desktop and import from there

Hi, I deleted my itunes library and my good songs are in a playlist on my iPhone 4.
Now I want to add new playlist from itunes to my iphone, but I don't want to alter any of my previous playlists (which are on my iphone).
I'm afraid if I import the new playlist, it's gonna reset my iPod.app library.
Is there a way to import my playlist back to itunes?

I found an application called "Tuneaid" and it has imported my files over. so my question is solved.

How do I transfer one playlist from my itunes library to my ipod. I do not want to sync my whole library music. I tried to set to *manually managing music* and drag the playlist. Doesn't work. If I try to sync *selected playlists* it wants to delete all the other music that I have on my ipod.

What exactly are you trying to do? You already have another library on the computer and wish to add items from another library? This is not easily done and meeting all the requirements you have posted. While it is possible to transfer play count I think it is one of the things that requires Applescripting knowledge.
If you are just wanting to move a library from one place to another that is possible, though still tricky because you start encountering user permissions.
