  • Windows Update Error 80080005 Windows 7 Client with WSUS 3.0 SP2 server

Hello everyone, I've looked around at other threads related to my issue, and I can't seem to find a correct answer.
I have a computer lab that I've recently installed a Windows 7 Enterprise image onto 35 Dell Optiplex computers (most are 380's, a few older 360's).
I created the image using MDT2010 and used one of the 380's as a reference.
All has been well for about a month or two but recently 6 computers are giving me Windows Update errors with the error code of 80080005.
I have a WSUS 3.0 SP2 server running, and all of my other computers seem to be getting their updates just fine.  WSUS has the problematic computers in it's database, but it shows that they haven't checked in for "x" days.
I have Avast 4.8 Professional installed, I have OpenDNS configured to block bad websites, ____, etc. and I also use an Untangle server to prevent access to bad websites.  I've ran a Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware scan on the affected computers, as well
as Windows Defender scan, and Windows Live OneCare scans, and all have found no malicious software.
I have also tried resetting the Windows update service as described here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 as well as a script that supposedly does the same thing, but also resets all previous
update events, but I can't find the script source right now (I had ran it last week, and it didn't work).
I'm currently running a SFC /Scannow on one of the computers, and now it has finished.  It gives the error: Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.  I'll have to google that next.
The last windows update that ran on the computer that I'm working on now was installed on 11-18-2010 and was a Windows Defender Update (KB915597 Def: 1.93.1985.0)
Previous to that was 11/9/2010 2 updates: KB977165 and KB981852.
I guess I'll have to look at all of the other machines to see if they have the same updates installed.
Anyway, has anyone else had this problem?  I've seen vista home editions, and RC's but no real Windows 7 Pro+ RTM versions in business environments where updates were controlled by WSUS.
Thanks for any help that you can provide!
By the way, I only work at this location once a week (tuesdays, well thursdays too, but I'm next door to this building, but I have remote access), so bare with me on trying to fix things.

Ok, for the sake of completeness, I have completed the instructions given by Miya Yao.
After stopping the Windows Update Service (from an Admin Command prompt window), renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder to SDold, then starting the update service again, I still receive the same error when checking for updates.
The windows update log shows this (starting from about 4am) and I just reset the service at about 9:10, which you can see in the log.

  • Update error in BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE

    Hi,
I have to add new line items to the existing sales order, so I have created a BDC for t-code VA02, when I run the program after I save the Sales order I got update error which says "Item status (document 2123455,  item 20) is missing".
Then I converted the BDC into BAPI_SALESORDER_CHANGE, but still I have the same problem.
Below are the parameters which I'm passing to function module. Please suggest me what could be the problem?
    lw_headx-updateflag = 'U'.
      LOOP AT p_lt_final_item.
        lv_itemno = lv_itemno + 10.
        MOVE: lv_itemno     TO lw_item-itm_number,

(Per suggestion from Jelena Perfiljeva, added code tags)

Switching from transaction to BDC or BAPI will not help you. There is clearly a data issue in this order. Read the long text for the message - it might have some additional information.
I'm guessing that there is some kind of a custom status maintained in your system on item level (see VA03 -> item data -> Status tab). You might want to check with your SD specialist on the status configuration.
P.S. Also do use the Code tags when posting any code. Although in this case you might as well just delete the code since it has nothing to do with this problem anyway.

  • Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.1 update error U44M2P7

    Hi.
I tried to install the newest Photoshop update, but I get an error code: "Photoshop CS6 13.0.1.1 update error U44M2P7", and there is no information about it on Adobe's Help sections.
Anyone know how to solve the problem?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
It sounds like the second attempt (reinstall from scratch) worked. To confirm the certificate update follow these steps:
Verify that the update installed successfully
To verify that you have successfully updated Photoshop CS6’s code signing certificate, do the following:
    1. Navigate to the Photoshop installation directory. The default Photoshop install locations are as follows:
    Windows 7 64 bit: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 bit)
    Windows 7 32 bit: C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6
    Windows XP: C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6
    2. Right-click photoshop.exe and choose Properties.
    3. Click the Digital Signatures tab.
    4. Verify that the updated signature datestamp is "Sept 16 2012, published by Adobe Systems Incorporated.
For additional details about the certificate, select the Adobe signature, and then click Details.
NOTE: The exact time of the certificate update will depend on your system clock setting.
    regards,
    steve

  • Elements 10 update error message

elements 10 update error message that says the update server is not responding?

    RKV
Thanks for the reply. The deletion of the BadDrivers.txt file is your best opportunity for a resolution. So, let us pursue that.
If you have Premiere Elements 10 on Windows 7 64 bit, the BadDrivers.txt file is there. But....in your attachments, you show
    Program Files
    Program Files (x86)
and no signs of Program Data where you must start in the path to the BadDrivers.txt file.
    a. Could you be using Windows 7 32 bit?
    or
    b. Are you working with Folder Options Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.
    In Windows 7 64 bit,
    Click on Start
In the Search field that appears above Start, type in Folder Options.
Folder Options text will appear at the top of that left column for you to click on.
Clicking on Folder Options will bring up its dialog.
Click on the View Tab of the Folder Options dialog.
Then scroll down the list of options under View until you reach Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives,
and make sure that it is selected.
Program Data should appear in the lineup which includes Program Files and Program Files (x86).
Please let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • How to fix restoring error (14)/1900 or updating error

    Restoring:
Lately many people have been having trouble with restoring the apple products due to errors such as (14) or 1900. I have solved this issue and it is very simple!
This error occurs only when you are not connected to the internet or when the internet is being used by too many people.
A way you can solve this is find a time when no one is on the internet and try the restoring of your iphone/ipod touch. You only need internet for the restoring part:
When the apple logo has a bar under it.
It is a very quick process with only you on the internet.
    Updating:
Same thing you need to be properly connected to the internet for the update to run perfectly.
    Hope this helps!

Doublechecking. In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the advice on the 1600 from the following document?

  • NSS6000 "Firmware Update Error: The firmware image file is corrupt."

    Hello All,
I've recently run into a problem trying to update the firmware on our NSS6000 to either 1.20.1 or 1.21.0.  We are currently running 1.16-3.
Each time after I click "Upgrade Firmware", the upgrade fails with the same error:  "Firmware Update Error: The firmware image file is corrupt.  Obtain another copy of the file and try the firmware upgrade again".
I've tried re-downloading the NSS6000_FW_1.20.1.tar.gz and NSS6000_FW_1.21.0.tar.gz several times from multiple PCs, and using multiple browsers.  I've tried several combinations of Windows Server 2003R2, Windows Server 2008R2, Windows 7, and Firefox, Chrome, and IE 8/9.
The downloads all appear to be fine, and they all can open/extract with 7-zip without issue.  The file sizes are always the same.
No combination of OS/Browser yields a different result on the upgrade attempt either.
I tried renaming NSS6000_FW_1.21.0.tar.gz to NSS6000_fwupgrade_0121.tar.gz to match the convention used in early versions (thinking that the extra "."'s could be the issue) but no luck either.
I was able to successfully re-apply the NSS6000_fwupgrade_0116.tar.gz firmware without any issues at all.
A strange thing I noticed, though, was on the "The system will reboot now. Please close your browser." window, it shows the device as an "NSS2000 2-Bay Gigabit Network Storage System" (please see attached screenshot).  I'm chalking that up to a simple reusing-the-same-web-code issue rather than the root of the problem, but thought I should mention that as well.
Has anyone else run into this issue, or have any suggestions for workarounds in order to successfully upgrade the FW on this device?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi,
Not sure what is going on i haven't see the issue you are having, can you try downloading both images at a different location; instead of behind your router. Also upgrade to .20 and then .21. Im pasting the release notes upgrades step.
When upgrading the firmware from v1.12 to v1.14, v1.12 to v1.20.1, or v1.12 to
v1.21.0 the Configuration GUI displays a "Programming images.." message
for more than 12 minutes (the time it takes to upgrade the firmware is
    usually 5 to 10 minutes).
The workaround is to wait at least 15 minutes to complete the upgrade and
then power cycle the NSS by removing the power cord. Do not try and
access the Configuration GUI during this time. (CSCsx17923) When upgrading the firmware from v1.12 to v1.14, v1.12 to v1.20.1, or v1.12 to

  • Firmware update error in 2 minute old ipod

Having just received a shiny new ipod back from apple service....i plug it in and it says it needs to be restored so i do!!
Now all the restore program says is firm ware update error after a very short time and the ipod shows the folder icon
Im seriously p*ssed off cos this has come straight from apple directly!!!
Is this an ipod problem or has my computer got some form of ipod virus or anti ipod problem???
Help Please I don't want to wait another 2 weeks
    Dave

To save Mitch from alot of trouble trying to fix the error.
Go into 'My Computer', Right Click on any blank spot, Hit Properies. Click on the Hardware Tab, click the device Manager button, scroll down to Universial Serial Bus Controllers, click the plus. Do Any of them say 2.0 or Enchanced, if not, the firmware failure might be related to USB 1.1 .
If it does say Enchanced or 2.0 make sure the ipod is plugged into the back.
Firmware Failure Diskwrite Error(maybe a Update in there), is a somewhat of a general error, Can be connection issue related to how its connected, or it could be a problem with the iPods hard drive.
If still not working, time to test it on another PC(Or Mac) If you don't have one, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/buy/locator/service.html
Type in your Zip Code, It will list the closest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service Providers.

  • Failed to resume automatic updates error 0x8024afff

I am running SCCM 2012 R2 with only one primary site. Windows updates seem to synchronize ok and i can manually push out updates and they install correctly. My issue happens when i try to deployed Automatic Updates for the first time. When i check the
ruleengine.log on the site server. i see that the rule doesn't find a single update to install even when i pick very simple parameters for the ADR to pick up. When i look at the updatehandler.log on the client side all i get is "Failed to resume automatic
updates error 0x8024afff" and it is unable to resume. our site only has 150 devices including servers. I'm only trying to configure an ADR for workstations. I have WSUS installed locally on the SCCM server and I am using a Remote Distribution point on
a Windows Server 2012 R2. I haven't been able to find much on this error code other than "0x8024AFFF WU_E_AU_UNEXPECTED An Automatic
Updates error not covered by another WU_E_AU * code." and no forums have been very helpful. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

Here's what i get in the ruleengine.log when i start an ADR. The parameters i have set have been simple. such as choosing "security" updates when there are a few security updates that are required. I have tried to choose almost every single category minus
    products.

Computer Policy update has completed successfully.
User Policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encount
    ered:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to retrieve new Group P
olicy settings for this user or computer. Look in the details tab for error code
and description. Windows will automatically retry this operation at the next re
fresh cycle. Computers joined to the domain must have proper name resolution and
network connectivity to a domain controller for discovery of new Group Policy o

To diagnose the failure, review the event log or run GPRESULT /H GPReport.html f
rom the command line to access information about Group Policy results.

    Hi,
Before going further, I assume that the user account we were using is a domain account. As a result, we can use this account to log onto other domain computers to see if its
user policy settings can be updated successfully.
Besides, for troubleshooting this issue, we can try to retrieve Gpsvc.log to check this issue.
Regarding how to enable logging in the Gpsvc.log file, the following blog can be referred to for more information.
