Simple way to connect AEBS to other router for n-profile

Hi There,
I have just sign up to local ISP who gave me a modem/router for their fast internet. Internet itself is fine in terms of speed; however their wireless profile from that router is b/g. I got AEBS and I want to connect it their router to get n-profile from AEBS.
So question is how to connect AEBS for their router (Sagem)? I am newbie for this so I would be appreciated if someone will simply tell me to which ports cables are going to and what settings should I change in Sagem/AEBS, please.
The ISP giving dynamic IP for me if that matter at all. Apparently I can change for static but I don’t really know what is more beneficial.
Hope all that settings will stay the same once I will get Time capsule instead of AEBS.
Thanks in Advance.

Don't think you need to change any settings in the Sagem. Just hook your AEBS with ethernet cable into ethernet port on the Sagem and the WAN(circle) port on the AEBS. Then open up Airport Utility and let it set up your airport network. You will setup the N network there.

  • Simple way to connect Oracle 11g XE with MS SQL Server 2000

Is there a simple way to access SQL server database/ Tables within from Oracle 11g XE (Windows-32bit) on same machine. I am a novice so kindly keep it simple. Thanks

To connect to a SQL Server you need to use an Oracle product called Database gateway for ODBC which uses a 3rd party ODBC driver to connect to the SQL Server.
The easiest set up is to install DG4ODBC release 11.2 on the SQL Server. How to configure the Database Gateway for ODBC is described in note:
How to Configure DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on Windows 32bit to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install          [Document 466225.1]
when you install DG4ODBC on a 32bit Windows operating system and the instructions for a 64bit Widnows operating system can be found in this note:
How to Configure DG4ODBC (Oracle Database Gateway for ODBC) on 64bit Windows Operating Systems to Connect to Non-Oracle Databases Post Install          [Document 1266572.1]
The database gateway for ODBC is available for free from here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html
Please make sure you select the 32bit or 64bit Windows operating system depending on the platform where you've installed the SQL Server and on which you now install the gateway and download the <win32/64>_11gR2_gateways.zip CD.
Once downloaded, unzip it and install it using the Oracle Universal installer. Make sure you select the product Database Gateway for ODBC (there's also a dedicated SQL server gateway called Database Gateway for MS SQL Server - this gateway is NOT for free and it requires a separate license).

  • Help with a simple configuration to connect a pc and router

Since I want to access to my openwrt router at my network's home I discovered I am forced to use OpenVPN. In fact the ISP which provides the internet connection doesn't allow his customers to be visible from the exterior (it is an Italian ISP named Fastweb).
The pc with what I want to access my router from the exterior is connected to the internet with a public IP and I can open the doors I want. For this reason I want to install the openvpn server on that pc.
What I would like to achieve is to see all the devices connected on the openwrt router (and the router itself) from the PC with the public IP.
For example, access the router web interface by simply writing 192.168.1.1 on the pc with openvpn server of which the local address is 10.0.0.2.
At the same time I would avoid to install the openvpn client on each device connected to the openwrt router. Is this possible? So reach the 192.168.1.3 pc from my openvpn server pc with 10.0.0.2 as local address, without installing openvpn client on the 192.168.1.3 pc.
Is this kind of operation called "bridging"? I am pretty new with openvpn, so I came here to gently ask if you can suggest me some configurations for the openvpn server and client.
What would happen if I restart the pc with the openvpn server? I mean does the router with openvpn client automatically reconnect as soon the openvpn server is again on?
I think an image is better descriptive of what I want to build:
    Really thanks in advance.

EDIT: AFAIK, the concept of "Server" and "Client" in OpenVPN only refers to which machine initiates the connection. It doesn't affect the resulting connection. That is entirely dependent on the configuration.

You only need the Client on one machine.

If you setup a bridged VPN, the "OpenVPN Server" machine will get a second address within the 192.168.1.x network (for example, 192.168.1.20). It will use this address (via the VPN) to connect to the other hosts inside your network.
If you setup a routed VPN, then both address ranges (192.168.1.x and 10.0.0.x) will "become visible" at both ends.
If you only want the "OpenVPN Server" to be able to access your "home", then I would recommend a Bridged VPN.

    Yes.

  • Cisco Model 870 router for home office connected to WRT160NL wireless router for personal use

I am using a Cisco Model 870 router for home office. I just bought a WRT160NL wireless router for home use. I setup the personal wireless router off the personal port of the 870 and can connect with my PC but not with my MAC machines. It can see the Network but when it asks me for passwords, it says they are wrong, which after several attempts I know they are correct.
The new router is setup as WPA2 personal. Can you advise?

I think I answered my own question. I tried downloading something on my desktop and checked my cellular usage afterwards didn't go up so it's using my home internet and not my data plan.

  • Is there a simple way to create a custom item list for a List Picker field?

I have created a List picker field and added it to my customized version of the Incident Management form. I need to populate this List Picker with custom items (Departments) and everything I am reading about how to do that is that I have to write a
bunch on XML code. Is there a relatively simple way to populate a List Picker field with custom entries that does not require me to know scripting or XML?
Thanks in advance for any help
    Mark

Assuming that you have created a Enumeration picker (i.e.
you used the authoring tool and dragged what it calls a list picker in, and then selected a list that you created in the authoring tool), then you can edit the contents of those Enum Lists using
the Lists view in the Library pane, or by editing the XML as in the last reference.
You might also be interested in the
Bulk Enum creation tool, which automates the process of creating that XML

  • Simple way of connecting to windows machine

I had tiger and by clicking on network could see and connect to my windows PC wirelessly. Now when I click on my network the macbook does not find anything even although nothing has changed on my setup except I am now using Leopard.
On Leopard I don't seem to be able to do this. I have had a look at the other posts but get a bit lost with what some people are saying, is there a simple guide on how to fix this problem?

System Preferences > Network > whatever connection type (Ethernet Connected) > Advance (button) > WINS (tab) > MSHOME (or whatever the name of the workgroup is)
the xp box showed up in the finder. i clicked on it and the shares showed up in the window.
    cool.
on the xp box, i should have done the above first, but, anyway, on the xp box, i deleted all my network places. i then "set up a home or small office network." using the network setup wizard.

  • I use my ps3 online gaming, is the airport extreme or the airport express be compatible with ps3? Is it going to be a better connection compair to other router? Which one is a better choice for me, airport express or airport extreme??

I bought linksys EA3500 router. Its still in the box and before I open it I want to learn more about the apple airport router, is the apple going to work with my online games with ps3? I have iPad, 2 iPhones, apple tv and Mac mini.  If the airport express or airport extreme is a lot better and will work for ps3 which one should I get?

Airport will work with PS3.  From what you've stated, the Extreme is more than you need.  Buy the Express.

  • Best way to connect wirelessly to Linksys router on PC-based net?

I have a Powermac G4/MDD running OX 10.3.9. Plenty of RAM.
Tried to install an Airport card but the System Profiler does not recognize it. Says there is no Airport card. I have taken it out and re-installed several times with the antenna plugged in.
    1. Could the card be bad?
    2. Is there any other reason the Mac won't see the card? (outdated driver, i'm running v2.02 of Airport driver)
Assuming the card is dead, there is a warning on the Mac (it's from my wife's workplace) that it does not support third-party cards (i.e. PCI cards)
    3. Has anyone heard of that happening?
    4. If that's the case, would an Ethernet Wireless Bridge work? Since there's no drivers sounds like an ideal solution
    5. I've heard good things about the Belkin 7330. Comments on that product or any other good(or bad) wireless bridges, such as Netgear?
    Thanks,
    Andy

I have a Powermac G4/MDD running OX 10.3.9. Plenty of
    RAM.
    1. Could the card be bad?
Are you trying to install an original Airport card or an Airport Extreme Card.
If you have a FW800 port you should be using the Airport Extreme card.
If you don't then you should be using the original Airport card.
    2. Is there any other reason the Mac won't see the
card? (outdated driver, i'm running v2.02 of Airport

You have not pushed it in correctly, or you are using the wrong card.
Assuming the card is dead, there is a warning on the
Mac (it's from my wife's workplace) that it does not
support third-party cards (i.e. PCI cards)
You can use third party 802.11b PCI cards with the G4 PowerMac.
    4. If that's the case, would an Ethernet Wireless
Bridge work? Since there's no drivers sounds like an
    ideal solution
    Yes
    5. Recomendations for wireless bridges? I've heard
good things about the Belkin F5D-7330. Netgear or
    D-Link?
I would recommend the Linksys WET54G as this works well and is easy to configure.

  • Connecting to infinity - One router for all?

Partly technical and partly efficiency - Okay, so I got BT Infinity on 9th July although I am struggling with the non-responsive Openreach modem (it's white, and it keeps blinking green then going blank and forth all the time).
With two modems (HomeHub 3 + Openreach) needed to connect to Infinity I was wondering if there is a router that merged all of the functions of the two modems into one? Or do I need to keep the appointment for 17/7/12 (arranged by telephone) so that the Openreach modem can be replaced?
By the way, I already understand that the engineers are busy due to 2012 Olympics, but the router problem is getting annoying.

DSL was blinking then went blank in the day times. I'll summarise the situation since day one:
    9/7 - Good Service
10/7 - No service until night - DSL light blinked then went blank all day
11/7 - No service until night - ditto
12/7 - No service until night - ditto
    13/7 - No service since 7:30am - ditto
    14/7 - Good service
    15/7 - ?
Power light was okay, LANs were okay. But once restarted it takes awfully a long time to respond. It must be the firmware of the white router, which in that case it needs replacing IMO

  • I have a Comcast Modem which is connected to a Netgear Router for my home network. I just bought the Apple Time Capsule. Do I simply take the Netgear Router offline and substitute the Time Capsule. If so does this require a new Network name and security?

The router and modem are connected t oa PC but all the other computers on the network are Apple.

You should be able to substitute the TC for the netgear.. although you might find the wireless range is somewhat less.
Power down both the netgear and the cable modem.. plus all the clients.. leave the modem off for 5min at least.. maybe 15min..
Put the TC in place of the Netgear.. you do not need to change the name, although PC will work better if you keep everything SMB compatible.. that means both TC name and wireless names, short, no spaces.. pure alphanumeric.
Power up the modem.. wait 2min then power up the TC, then the rest of the clients.. check in airport utility to make sure the TC got public iP on  the wan interface.

  • How do I know if someone is connected to my wireless router for internet?

Easiest was is to look at the security log for signins from your router. Am assuming you already know how to log into your router. OH, and to stop it, if you have not already done so, set a security password,  AND enable wps-2 security. That SOULD stop any future unauthorized access in the future. If you don't already know how to do that, your routers instruction manual; should tell you how to do that.

I don't know the command, personally, but there is also a command signal you can send, which identifies the ssid even it it's turned off, so JUST disabling the broadcast is pretty easily bypassed.Your best bet, if it's available, is to use type n, instead of type g protocol, activate the enhanced security, and make sure to set a password. Good luck.

  • Whats the best way to connect to an HDMI TV for presentations?

I have an HDMI 15 ft cable with two male ends. They do have wireless where I wil be but not sure I trust it.

If you can't trust the WiFi and/or they don't have an Apple TV or a projector that has an iOS app available, then you'll need Apple's DIgital AV adapter with the appropriate connector for your iPad; 30-pin or Lightning connector.
    Regards.

  • Is it possible to make airport extreme a WEP network and keep my other router as WPA?

Not really sure how to ask this but here goes.
I have a bt router as my main router in my house which I want to continue using. It is WPA protected and I want to keep it that way. However I have some devices that will only connect with WEP. So I was wondering if there is a way to setup my airport extreme to be a WEP protected network so I can use this only for the WEP devices and use my other router for my other devices and connections as it is more secure.
If this is possible, could you please explain to me the setup for the airport extreme as I don't know if it needs setting up as a seperate network or in bridge mode? I don't really understand the setup options on the airport and what is needed to do what.
I hope I've explained this clear enough but if not feel free to ask me for more details.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Whatever you choose for the WiFi network name.
Step by step as you requested:
    Open up AirPort Utility.
Go to the AirPort tab and select Wireless:
Under Wireless Security select WEP. Click Wireless Network Options and tick "Create a closed network". Also, you could turn down the transmit rate if you want.
    Select Internet.
These settings should work fine. Then, everything should be good to go.
