Simplest way to support dual monitor with HP 2570P

Hi,
I would like to be able to use my dual monitors with my HP 2570P. I do not yet have a docking station.
What is the simplest way to support dual monitor display with my  HP 2570P ?
I'm not looking for mirror i am looking for an extended desktop. I can live with out the laptop display if required.
I know there was a previous post about the 2540 but I'm not sure if the outcome applied to 2570p too.
thanks
Richard.

There is no truly simple way except use of a docking station.
You can use the VGA port or the display port. None of the manuals I have seen assert that you can use them both simultaneously.
There is no a previous post about the 2540 in regards to using a dual external display setup in the forum that I have seen.

  • What is the best way to run dual monitors with a 2011 MBP?

I have a 2011 MBP and i want to run dual 1920x1080 monitors. what is the best way to accomplish this? i also have a PC attached to the monitors with the DVI connection (but would be willing to change this to the analog, if necessary). so i have teh analog and HDMI connections available on the backs of the monitors.
what i would like to do is hook the MBP through the HDMI if possible and then i would just be able to change inputs on the monitors depending in which computer i want to use (PC or MBP).
any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Ok, you either own a MacBook Pro with an Intel Processor, or a PowerBook with a PowerPC Processor.
If your stated speed is correct, then you own a PowerBook, which will not run Windows natively. development & sales for Virtual PC has ceased. The only emulator still around, I think, is iEmulator & is terribly slow on G4s.
Boot Camp does not work on PowerPC Macs.

  • Will HP pavillion p6-2260ea support dual monitors

I just bought a HP pavillion p6-2260ea (i3 processor). There are 2 DVI ports on the back - 1 DVI I and 1 DVI D. Will this PC support dual monitors?
I have tried connecting 2 monitors using 2 DVI to VGA adaptors (1 DVI-I to VGA and 1 DVI-D to VGA) but only one monitor is being recognised.

    Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6-2260ea Desktop Computer. According to the specs, your computer has one DVI-D (digital only <DVI>) output and one DVI-I (digital <DVI> and analog <VGA via adapter>) output as shown below;
    (#3) DVI-D (digital only)     (#4) DVI-I (digital and analog <VGA via adapter>)
Your computer will work with two digital monitors, or one digital monitor and one analog VGA monitor but not with two analog VGA monitors.
Please provide the brand and model numbers of the monitors you are trying to connect to your computer for more assistance with this issue.

  • Does yosemite support dual monitors

I had dual monitors with Mavericks and prior, can't get it to support a second one now.
Used both HDMI and MiniHd connections?

    What is a " I use a Mini H connector."
Just what two monitors (e.g. resolution) do you have and how (what monitor inputs and adopters are used) are the connected.
    What model Mini?

  • Do mini's support dual monitors?

Do mini's support dual monitors? If yes, how are they connected.

Yes. It depends upon the the model Mini you have, The current ones have to video outs.
    - Thunderbolt. You can use a MiniDisplay Port to VGA or MiniDisplay Port to DVI adopter if you do not want to get a Thunderbolt monitor.
    - HDMI. The Min comes with a HDMI to DVI adopter. The HDMI port to not support a HDMI to VGA adopter.

  • Dual Monitor with PXI-8108

I am trying to use dual monitors with a PXI-8108 and the NI DVI splitter as described here
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/0E993D33675CD46A862572D50072C6A3
There must be some software update I need because I don't not have an option for the second monitor?  Does anyone
know what I may need to update, possibly the graphics driver, and where to find it?
I have (2) mobile intel 4 series express chipset family listed under my device manager
    driver version 6.14.10.5009

Are you trying to use three monitors with the setup in question there? Adding another set of splitters could impact the signal quality depending on your monitors and needs.
I'm not aware of a specific test with that setup, but given the correct adapter types and correct signal sources on each adapter, I would imagine you may be able to get it to work.
Again, as with the above posts, reference the linked Discussion Forum thread in the first post here, as you are going to be looking at similar questions in that case.

  • Anyone grasped dual monitors with Lion yet?

I know it's fairly early days, but I cannot seem to get dual monitors with full screen Apps sussed out. It seems the second monitor doesn't like to join in the fun.

It's absolutely ridiculous.  One of the key selling points of full screen apps was to take away the distractions of the window furniture, menu and dock - letting you focus on what's important, now what do we get to distract us - in my case a 1600x1200 linen pattern on my second monitor.  Daft.
FWIW - I don't think the 'film reel' approach mentioned above would be a good a solution - as it assumes the 2 full screen apps to want to view are adjacent, and since Mission Control rearranges spaces to suit the 2 apps may not continue to be adjacent.  Surely though it would be easy enough to allow a different full screen app on the second screen (which would be excellent imho), I tend to have a development window open and a browser on the second screen - having both full screen is exactly what I'd want to view.  Alternatively, having the second screen as a plain 'Desktop' space would be acceptable (at least then I could open the apps I want in a non-fullscreen manner).
I don't think this is going to limitted to edge cases either - earlier today I was typing out an email, and needed to calculate a quick sum to include (mail was fullscreen) - in order to call up calculator I need to go : Mission Control, Switch to Desktop Space, Locate calculator, Perform calculation, remember it, mission control, switch to Mail Space, type calculation answer - ironically one can't even trigger Spotlight and do the calculating in there - as menubar is disabled when creating an email - but anyway, I digress.
Other than this (admittedly major) issue, I find full screen apps a great way to work - and even with this issue, they're a huge boon when I'm using the laptop sans extra monitor.

    Ryan

  • Is there a way to run dual monitors using a mini display port cable?

I want to connect my 21.5-inch, Mid 2010 iMac to my 13-inch, Mid 2010 MacBook Pro and run dual monitors with the cable because they don't have thunderbolt plugs. I wan't to use two displays for Logic Pro to expand my real estate. I'm not looking to spend over $50 on crazy adapters so cheaper options would be great.
    Thanks

  • Dual monitors with macbook closed

i am running dual monitors with Macbook Pro and would like for my Macbook to be closed.  How do I change that setting?

How do I change that to two separate extended screens.
I don't believe you can. Check with Matrox, but my understanding is that the external monitors running through the Matrox box will always function as a single extended desktop in two parts.
If you do check with Matrox about this, please post back with your findings — I'll be interested to know, whether I'm right or not.

  • Which mac mini model supports dual monitors

    Hi there
I gather that at some point mac minis started to support dual monitors natively.
Would anyone be able to clear up which model this was?
    Cheers

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
    October 20, 2009 to June 14, 2010 Mac Minis supported mini-DisplayPort & and mini-DVI.
    June 15, 2010 and later supported mini-DisplayPort & HDMI.

  • T61p dual monitor with docking station, maximum resolution

I wonder what is the maximal resolution one can get with the quadro fx 570m. I specially want to reach the 2560x1600+2560x1600 with two 30'' monitors. Does anyone know about it or have experience with it?
    dual monitor with docking station

You will need the huge docking station with Dual-Display Port & DVI. Then it should work, but you will only be able to use 2 displays at once (one external+laptop LCD or 2 external). But I think you already know that.
VGA on such resolution would be suicidal and i doubt it would even work.

Yes, I see that I was in error when I posted that.  Sorry.

  • Need videocard that supports dual monitors and Rotation -for PowerMac G5

I'm looking for a videocard that supports dual monitors and Rotation for PowerMac G5. I've got two Dell 2407WFP monitors rotated to 90 -I've been running an ATI Radeon X1900 256 pcie16 but apparently it is over heating -not even exactly sure if that indeed is the case but all the symptoms I've looked up online point to this problem. Anyways -just looking for a card that will do the job -I don't run games -this is just for work machine doing photoshop and related programs. Thanks for any help anyone may have!

    Hi-
A flashed card is a WinPC card that has been modified to accept a Mac ROM to provide for Mac compatibility.
Occasionally, soldering and other physical modifications are required.
Without this modification, a WinPC graphics card cannot be used in a MAc.
Without this modification, Mac users are limited to only a handful of used, OEM options.
The Geforce 7800 GS is the only 7800 card that may be used in a G5 (or G4).
The card must have been or be converted to Mac compatibility.
For dual monitors (DVI) the best performance choices are the Geforce 6800 Ultra (flashed or OEM), a rare, but occasionally available Geforce 6800 GT (flashed), an OEM Radeon X800XT (use ADC/DVI adapter on ADC port) a rare and expensive Radeon FireGL X800 (flashed).
These are the only performance oriented cards to offer dual digital display support.
For less demanding graphics work, an OEM Radeon 9650 offers dual digital output.
Other OEM graphics cards will have either DVI/DVI or ADC/DVI.
All OEM graphics cards are only available as used.
All cards are easiest to obtain on eBay.
Prices vary, but deals can be found.
Expect to pay $150-$325 for any of the cards listed.
Any card considered MUST be stated as Mac compatible, unless you are willing to research and learn how to perform the necessary modifications.
