Sims 2 and downloading!

How do I install Sims 2 games on my macbook pro - it's 10.5 leopard. I put the disc in and nothing happens, it makes sounds and all but I clicked the autorun icon and it says it cannot run in DOS mode.....i have no fricken clue what that means. I bought the Sims games & I would just like to play them. Please someone answer my question.

You would know if you were running under Boot Camp, since you would be running Windows and not Leopard after manually installing and choosing it. Putting that aside, what do the system requirements on the box call for?
Also, ignore the discs - who is the software publisher listed on the box - EA or Aspyr? I can't imagine a large release like The Sims 2 having both Mac and PC versions on the same disk, so if you see an AUTORUN.INF or what appear to be .exe files, I suspect that you bought the PC version.

I used an old sim card to try to activate my iphone 3gs, it didnt work, and it gave me this response:
We're sorry, the iPhone you connected may be damaged and cannot be activated for service. We reccomend you visit your nearest apple Store for more information.

To troubleshoot this issue where your iPhone gives you the message "No SIM Card installed" please follow the steps below.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Turn airplane mode on and then off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Check for a carrier settings update. Go to Settings > General > About. Install any available update.
Remove the SIM card and make sure that it's a valid SIM that your carrier provided. Also make sure that it's not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
A SIM tray that comes with one iPhone model won't necessarily work with a different iPhone model. When you insert the correct SIM tray, the SIM tray should be flush with the device.
If you have another SIM card, insert it. You can use a SIM card from any phone with the same format as your iPhone SIM card. If your iPhone works with that SIM card, contact the carrier that issued your original SIM card.
Restore the iPhone.
If you still see the issue, contact Apple support.
If you see 'No SIM' alert on iPhone

Phone A = phone with information you want duplicated
Phone B = phone that you want to copy from A
Backup Phone A.
Wipe Phone B using these instructions. What to do before selling or giving away your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Phone B should be on the 'Hello' screen. Do not swipe it. Launch iTunes. Plug in Phone B.
When iTunes asks if you want to set up as new phone or restore from backup, choose restore from backup of Phone A.
After this setup, any changes to one phone (i.e. adding a contact, downloading an app) will have to be manually duplicated on the second phone, if that is your desire). Making changes to one phone will not affect the other after setup.

Hello. My daughter has an Acer laptop. We would like to buy her a new Macbook Pro for her birthday. She plays games on her Acer such as Sims 2 and Sims 3. It's obvious Sims 3 would work, but would all Sims 2 games be compatible with a Macbook Pro? Thanks.

To use any Windows program on your mac you can you the virtualization route or install Boot Camp. In both cases you need a valid, legal, Windows install disc.

Read your manual (you have a bookmark to it in Safari on your iPhone or put iBooks on your iPhone and download the manual from the iBookStore) and it will show you how to remove the microSIM from your iPhone. AT&T is not tourist friendly and does not offer a pay as you go plan for visitors with an iPhone. If you are going to be here for a short time you can probably buy a pay as you go microSIM and use it before AT&T notices, if it is going to be for a long time that won't work.
There is a 3rd party company that will sell you a microSIM that will work with AT&T but they are pretty pricey.
Finally, you can get a pay as you go microSIM from T-Mobile to work with your iPhone but you will only have EDGE data speeds.

Sure, it will work just fine that way. Leave the deactivated sim in the phone, as you'll need it should you ever have to restore or upgrade the software on the phone. You can't activate any GSM iPhone without a valid sim in the phone.

Two iTunes movies that I purchased and downloaded to my iPhone do not show up when I try to sync to iTunes on my iMac.

I purchased the X-Men Bundle of 5 movies. I downloaded the first 3 onto my iPhone. Only 1 of the 3 (the first film) shows up as an option to sync to iTunes on my iMac. I do it this way because I have access to free hi-speed wifi at work but not at home.
I have verified that the other 2 films are actually on the phone and will play on the phone.
I have tried various settings and restarted both devices but to no avail.

Thanks Alex! That did the trick! I just saw your reply. I thought no one had replied because I did not get an email alert. I think I had turned that feature off and forgot I had done so. Now it seems so obvious but for some reason I didn't look there. This is a big help. I can download stuff at work but at home I have only cellular data using a mobile wi-fi device and downloading movies, especially HD movies is just not an affordable option. Taking my iMac to the office would be crazy. I downloaded only my MacBook Air and copied the files onto a thumb drive but those were not recognized. I was at my wit's end. Thanks again!

Delete the broken links in iTunes then look at your purchased list to redownload.
If this happened because you were deleting files from the iTunes folder in Finder, don't. You have to let iTunes do all the deleting and moving or you will end up with broken links.
