SIMS 2 not working because of copy protection?
I have just bought the Satellite M60 Notebook which should have everything requested to play The Sims 2. I installed the program but when I want to play, a window appears "This program has caused an error and is shutdown". I read on another page that this may be because the DVD-Drive has a copy protection and shuts off the game.
Is that the case? I have legally purchased and paid for the game and am really annoyed that it doesn't work. Is there a patch or something to avoid this? I have the newest direct x version.
It is the only game I play but what when my kids want to play a game and the DVD-drive shuts down my legal products? I am not at all satisfied with the drive anyway because it is loud, slow and does not recognize all of my CDs and data-DVDs.

I wonder how did you install this game (program) on the notebook if the drive cannot recognize the medium?
However, I dont think that the problem with your game occurs because of the drive copy protection. I have never heard about such protections on the Toshiba notebook drives.
In my opinion the error message This program has caused an error and is shutdown" occurs because of the software issue. I think you should ask the game manufacturers for support. Maybe he knows more about the own product error messages.

Because you require Lion to run it. You should not have installed it.
Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax. It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.

Several years ago I had an itunes account through my work email address. I have since let the company but when I tried to access the songs I'd already purchased, my password would not work because that account no longer existed. I ended up having to open another account but how can I access that account to retrieve my other songs? I realize I can't transfer between accounts but maybe at least burn to CD?

You can reset your Apple ID password via the steps in the first article below. I would try the option to answer your security questions. If those steps do not work then you may need to reach out to our account security team to reset this old Apple ID password. Our Xerox rep helped us set up Airprint to our copier machine. We have department codes set up on our copier so when any one goes to copy or print something they need to punch their code in. Airprint will not work because we have those codes (something prints out to the copier saying error due to accounting codes being set up). if you want a local test/development setup of Oracle why don't you just install Oracle 11gR2 XE (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/products/express-edition/downloads/index.html) ?
If you install this you get a database, APEX (4.1), client etc all in one install, this includes a webserver (EPG) on port 8080 without having to configure anything. It's a simple next-next-next installation without much configuration.
If you would like to seperate database and software you can always do this later when you understand the concepts of database/control files etc.
If you would like to upgrade to APEX 4.2 you can download this afterwards and easily install this by running two scripts in SQL*Plus ( apexins.sql and apxldimg.sql ), just check the apex 4.2 installtion guid section EPG for this.

b.t.w. If you're running windows 7 - 64 bits just use the 32 bits XE for windows, might get some warnings but you should be able to install and run, good enough for test/dev -

When logging in into yahoo mail after typing in password Firefox is adding something, probably remembered password and login fails all the time. At yahoo mail Notepad does not work because it is impossible to close the list of items and they cover information, so I have to go to IE.

can't get to settings to turn on wifi because "sign in to icloud" pops up and asks for pw which does not work because i can't get to wifi ?
The problem is I cannot turn on wireless setting. The "sign in to icloud -- enter appleid password" popup will not go away. when i enter the pw and click ok, the same balloon pops up again. If I click "cancel" it pops again. Since I am not on the internet (because I cannot turn the ipad wireless on) the sign in to icloud obviously will not work. Vicious circle.
