Sims 2 runs horibly?

Hello I just got the sims 2 + university expansion pack for my black 2.0ghz 512mb macbook under os x. However it seems to run horibly. Loading times take forever as well as choppy runing graphics. Anyone else with similar experiences? I cant seem to find the exact required system specs for the os x version.

You don't have sufficient RAM to run Sims 2 properly on an Intel based Mac.
My daughter runs Sims 2 (and expansion pack) on an iBook G4, but we had to increase the RAM to do so without problems. On the iBook G4 she really needed 768 Meg to get it to behave well. (As Aspyr claim it will run in 256 on a PPC machine, but only just. They recommend at least 512 Meg)
Intel based Macs are not quite as RAM efficient as the PPC ones though, and, on the MacBook, some RAM is also used for Graphics memory. Essentially , with 512 Meg in your Macbook you are running on the equivalent of 256 meg on a PPC based Mac like my daughters iBook)
Increase RAM to 1 Gig (or, even better, 2 Gig) and I'm sure Sims wil become much nicer to use.
(just FYI mymacluvsme - the original verion of Sims 2 was not Universal Binary. Aspyr have provided an update on line to make it so, though, and installation of any of the "expansion packs" automatically converts the original, un-updated, version to UB as well)

Will Sims 3 run on Mac OS X Leopard 10.6 with an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card?

I recently replaced my broken laptop with a Macbook Pro 13" operating on OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.7. I wanted to continue playing the Sims 3 as I had done on my previous laptop. It installed fine onto my Mac and allowed me to create people. When moving them into a household, the game suddenly froze (appearing as if it is on pause) meaning I need to actually switch on and off my Mac to clear the screen.
Could this be because my Mac has an Intel HD Graphics 3000 card? The Mac system requirements for the Sims 3 asks for an ATI X1600, a Nvidia 7300 GT or an Intel Integrated GMA X3100. If so, how do I go about fixing this? Would I need to physically buy a new graphics card to accommodate the game?
I'm not a massive gamer but it appears I am a bit of a Mac dummy!

I want to buy The Sims 3 and i'm just wondering if it will fit. The Sims requires 2GB of RAM, will this make my Mac slow? or the game?

2 GB is rather the minimum. Your machine would deserve more RAM, as much as possible, with or without Sims 3.

Has anyone gone to europe with an htc one and used a prepaid SIM there?

I will be going to Europe (france and spain thus far) in september and would like to be able to use our smartphones. I hear that outside of the USA, if you purchase a prepaid SIM (they run like 10euro for 1000/1000/2gb) it will work just fine. Can anyone verify this?

Should I buy the SIMS 2 game?

Can anyone give me any advice......I really want to get the SIMS 2 game, but my G4 867 MHz processor isn't fast enough. I have the original SIMS game, but I'd really like to get the SIMS 2 one..it looks so good, and people have said that it's a great game.

I have the Sims 2 running well on a G3 B&W Powermac converted to a Sonnet G4 500mhz with an upgraded Radeon video card. Works fine. Sluggish at startup (takes about 45 seconds to load the game) and I also get a dialog box saying a G4 500mhz procesor or higher is recommended but thereafter the game plays well. With only one exception. I sometimes get an error message when i attempt to turn aging feature off since my daughter prefers not to allow the characters to age.
This error message reads as follows:
"Shader validation: shader program build error:"
It often appears in a text box with the same message repeated 10 times. And I have no idea how to address this.
But other than what I mentioned above, I'm at a loss to understand why you feel Sims 2 won't work on a G4 867 since I also have it running perfectly (no errors whatsoever) on a second Powermac (G4 733 mhz Digital Audio S-Drive). This latter G4PM is rather zippy and plays the game significantly faster than the B&W mentioned above. All features work well like aging, reflections in mirrors, and all movements are very smooth.

Sims 2 on MacBook Pro

I have been running this game on my PowerBook and it can be a bit slow.
I am just wondering how well it works on the new 2.0 MacBook Pros ? I will have an additional gig of RAM to add to the 512 MB stock RAM.
Does Aspyr's patch make things any better ?
If not, I am debating over whether to sell the Mac version I have and get the Windows version. Maybe that would work better ?

I have the 2.0 MBP with 1gb of ram, and the Sims 2 runs perfectly on my OSX. You must download ASPYR's Universal Binary patch or else the game runs horribly slow and patchy. I didn't even bother playing without the patch. I beleve it is Sims 2 Rev E patch that you can download from ASPYR, which will make the game run amazingly fast.

How long does it take for the phone to get full service after you insert the sim card???

I got my Droid Incredible in the mail today, and inserted the sim card and somehow online I think I deactivated my old phone, and I've been waiting for my new phone to receive full service for maybe over an hour now. I left my SIM activation running overnight and it just didn't work. I finally called Verizon from my work phone the next day and the agent informed me that you do need to call to activate your SIM card. You will need to have your SIM card ready when you call (to provide the long string of numbers on the back of the card). Hope this helps!

After 7.1.1 I can't activate IP5 with same sim card

After using my ip5 with same carrier TURKCELL from Turkey) and sim card ,I upgraded it 7.1.1.
And now I cant activate it . It gives error "The simcard inserted doesnt appear to be supported"
The same sim card runs normally in other iphone5 s but not in my ip5.
I did restore many times . If I check another sim card from same carrier no way again.

Most likely the phone had been hacked to unlock it. When you upgraded the new OS undid the hack.

Can my powermac g5 handle the sims 2

Hi I have a 2.3ghz powermac g5 with 1.5 ram and a stock 9600xt and 20 inch apple cinema display. Will sim 2 run well on my computer. How will the frame rate be and can i play at high resolution and put the graphics up. Who ever has this game and the same specs as me tell me how it runs on the mac because i played it on my old pc that wasnt very good and it ran nice.

How long does it take after switching on an iPhone 4S before you can enter the SIM card PIN?

I have question concerning the iPhone 4s. I am currently not sure if my iPhone 4S shows a malfunction or not.
After switching on my iPhone 4S it can take more 45 seconds before the dialog to enter SIM card PIN is displayed. I observe the same duration with two SIM cards from two different providers. It is not fully reproducible. In some care cases the dialog for requesting the SIM card PIN is also displayed after a few seconds. On my iPhone 3GS and my iPad this dialog is always displayed with the same SIM cards already after a few seconds. Could you please let my know how long does it take with your iPhone 4S?

Microphone not working when on the phone

Hello. Recently I noticed that my microphone isn't working properly when I call people or vice versa. I ring people rarely so I haven't noticed earlier but this might've happened after 4.4.2 update...?
The microphone works fine when I record a video and works fine when checked in diagnostics. It is very muffled when I'm on the phone and when I check it in the *#*#7378423#*#* service checker.
I tried pretty much everything - reinstalling the update with Sony PC companion, factory data reset, removing my SIM card, running the safety mode, uninstalling apps, disabling google voice services, checking and unchecking all sound improvements (both in Sound and Call settings, eg clear audio+ and microphone noise suppression) and NOTHING WORKED. Not for a second. I read multiple forum threads where people said their microphone would work for a couple of hours and then break again - mine is muffled/broken at all times.
Any suggestions? I'm bringing it to the sony store tomorrow, if they don't fix it I want my money back. A phone should be able to carry out PHONE CALLS.

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.
I came home, banged the phone against the wall and it worked.
Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.

GMA X3100 graphics card.

I was just wondering,
I want to buy the Sims 2 game for Mac, but it says i require a Radeon 9000 graphics card or better or a GeForce FX5200 graphics card or better. I currently own a MacBook with a GMA X3100 graphics card. I want to know if the Sims game will work with my current graphics card, as I already found out that Need For Speed Carbon wont work with it. I would also like to know if it will work with Leopard, as I recently upgraded.

I was able to get Sims 2 running on my MacBook with the X3100 card without any major issues. I found that I needed to turn my graphics settings to low or else the more that began to appear on the screen things would slow down dramatically. Occasionally I'd get some odd rendering as some shaders and color combinations would take longer to load than others. I'd imagine the game to run extremely well on the MacBook Pro but it certainly runs on the MacBook.
It is listed on Intel's site for compatible games for the X3100 as well...
