Sims 2 - Trust Me its a good question!!!

Just wondering, Aspyr's gonna release Sims 2 Nightlife next week:
1. Will it be released universal?
and if so how will it run?
Since it is an expansion pack, it still need files from
the PPC Native Sims 2 Disk to run, So will it run choppy or smooth?
Do you think it will matter? Or is this something to be concerned about??

I have not heard of Sims 2 Nightlife, however they have released The Sims Complete Collection. The collection combines Aspyr’s Mac conversion of the original The Sims game with all of its expansion packs together for $49.99.
The Sims Collection includes The Sims, Hot Date, House Party, Livin’ Large, Makin’ Magic, Superstar, Unleashed and Vacation. The collection has been rated “T” for Teen by the ESRB.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, G3/500MHz or faster, 256MB RAM, 3.5GB hard disk space and DVD drive. Although the collection hasn’t been updated to run natively on Intel-based Macs, an Aspyr spokesperson told Macworld that the collection has been “tested and runs with good stability and playable frame rates” under Rosetta.

That's why he gave you the link to make the suggestion.
But returning to your proposal ... Apple does not sell any of the "wifi" connections. It would be up to providers of service to sell giftcards, and perhaps Boingo or some of other airport-commercial WiFi firms do. I can't think of any other place I've been asked to pay for WiFi.
Now Verizon and AT&T, as well as other providers in other countries, could sell Gift Cards... and again, perhaps they do, but you'll have to check with them or make the suggestions there. It's really not an Apple issue, as they don't sell or provide any connections, just the hardware to make them.

Good question about Exporting to tape

Somebody asked me this and I thought it was a good question. And I dont know the answer!
When a camera is connected to FCE, whatever plays on the timeline plays on the camera viewfinder, right? So instead of using PRINT TO VIDEO why wouldnt we just manually press record on the camera and just tape the movie straight off the timeline?
Is there some kind of quality loss if you do this?
Just seems to be a quicker and easier way to get the movie to tape.

While this works just fine, there are some issues. I.E., it is a lot easier to interrupt your recording when playing straight from the timeline (press the wrong key, have another app switch over, etc).
Print To Video (as far as I know) can only be interrupted with the ESC key.
Also, in Print to Video, FCP makes sure everything is rendered, and you can add color bars, slate, black, etc to the beginning if needed.

Don't worry about it. The MBP has built-in magnets. Does magsafe power connector ring a bell? The motor inside of the hard drive has a magnet.
You would need an extremely powerful magnet to affect a hard drive. I'm sure the electromagnet they use at a scrap yard to pick up a car could do it.
A long time ago I tried to erase some floppy diskettes by placing a magnet directly against the outer cover of the diskette. It had no effect on the recorded data.

I have an RVS-4000 and it sends me error message by email on errors. Yet I do not have any documentation on what these error messages mean. I asked these question last May and still have not received any answers.
I was told it had been forwarded to a engineer for creatation of this documentation in May. Here we are...
Do any of you agree we need this type of documentation on our Routers? I think it should have been created before these where sold and included with these Routers. Maybe if we all voted on it. Then It might still happen?

Only good for direct download links. I can pick to view my lecture in either audio or video format through WMP or QT from my school website. The formats come in a drop box form, which when on a desktop or laptop open in the player you choose and play. I hope this makes sense

You are asking several different questions. If you need to store your photos, music, and movies on an external volume, you certainly can. Any externally connected hard disk drive will work, connected either directly to your Mac or to your Time Capsule as a shared volume.
You should not rely upon using that as a backup device though. Although you certainly may use it for both purposes, it is a better idea to have dedicated backup devices for a variety of reasons not limited to redundancy. You would not want to simultaneously lose all your pictures as well as your backup. If they are all on the same device, that could happen. Furthermore, a backup cannot back up the volume on which it is running.
As for adding an Extreme or Express, using its LAN port for your iMac, and then enable Internet sharing so you can effectively use the iMac as a "hotspot", you can do that too, but I am unclear on what benefit you believe this arrangement would convey for you.
An Extreme's Guest network is separate from its Main network; that is the reason for having it.

Sorry but its another Raptor question..

Hi all.
Heres the deal. I currently have about 8GB of audio, about 5GB of pics and about 2GB of documents.
At the moment I use DVDs to back up the above documents, but since the amount I need to back up is growing so quickly, Its taking longer and longer to orgnise and back up. I usually take between 1 and 2GB of pics when I go on holiday and my MP3/AAC collection is growing quickly.
My question is this: Should I go for a Raptor 74GB hard disk and use that as my primary drive and the stock drive as a secondrey drive? or opt for an External hard drive like the Smartdisk crossfire?
If I choose the raptor, is it difficult to transfer everything from the stock disk to the raptor? Will I need any additional software?
Oh, and I should add. The disk on the IBook mentioned in my sig is full, so cant use that for back ups any more.

It seems from your writing that your needs is for storage space, not speed, so I don't think the Raptor offers you anything particularly useful in real use.
For less then the cost of a 74 GB Raptor (~$160 when not on sale), you can get a Maxtor MaxLine III 300 GB, with a 16 MB cache (~$130), that will provide over 4 times the amount of storage as the Raptor, and provide very close performance numbers to the Raptor.
If I were adding an internal I'd go with the MaxLine III for very good performance, and much higher storage capacity.
As for an external, those too are a good option for backup. I'm not familiar with the one you mentioned, so I'll leave it to others to provide suggestions about it.

My computer was bought the day windows 7 came out. I Intended it for college (now grad.) and gaming (really on the sims 3) Until Late night and pets came out its all laggy and a messege popps up the sims 3 has stopped working.....any ideas? really dont want to buy a new tower and would like a cheap fix that will last. Or a good solution anything.

...but shouldn't the "answeree" ,at least try to ask themselves "what if this were "my" problem would that be catorgorized as a worthy question..thus recieving a worthy "answer?
My b/w cartridge,was inserted then after ZI had to pull it out again..why? because the carriage wasn't sliding "back" to the far right ceratinly I cannot insert the Tri-color" into the slot "after" the mecanisism has moved,& stayed whwrre it's impossible to insert any cart- in while in that position..anyway..right?

tried to get it out it staed like I said before..the-"HP" book- that came{ w/ hp} is misplaced something I never do..is loose info I like "words" unlike online messages re:"How To's..NO matter what I pulled,pushed,couldn't get it out so what do they mean by machine must be plugged in I thouhjt I got a shock nothing big but read the steps you'll see "Hp is telling you machime must be on..the directions are contradictory..

OK, you must have read this post but it would help to read it again. What is your printer model? It sounds like you may be having trouble changing the print cartridges. You do need to have the printer plugged in and turned on to be able to access the cartridges. I have never seen any HP documentation that would suggest otherwise. Generally you would open the lid on the printer and the cartridges would be moved to a location where you could access them. It really does depend on your printer. What is your printer model?
