Hi,
Whle simulating activation a transfer rule, some objects show orange triange. Can I still go ahead and install it?

Hello there,
In your transfer rules you mapp the objects of your InfoSource with the objects of your datasource.
You can have objects in your InfoSource that won't be mapped, therefore the overall status of your transfer rule will be a yellow triangle (warning) instead of a green dot (ok status). But that doens't mean you have errors in your transfer rule.

Hello, I have the following problem when I want to do the following:
I have to log measurements with a logger from pico (www.picotech.co.uk). This is a windows-software. Therefor I'm using parallels desktop 5. The measurement should take about three weeks. In this time the MBP way not turn off or go into sleep, because the pico-software must take every 5 seconds a sample of the voltage and write it to disk.
What's the problem:
After a certain time (always a little less than three hours) without keyboard or keypad access, the MBP reboots. When I touch the touchpad every two hours, the MBP does not reboot. So I can get through the day (when I'm in my testlab), but during the night the MMBP reboots.
What have I done to avoid this (without success):
- standard in Parallel's the windows energy settings are to never shut-down or hibernate
- in the Mac osX Lion software, I set the energy settings to never sleep.
- I downloaded and activated the program "Caffeine" to simulate activity to prevent MBP going asleep.
But nothing helps (till now).
I hope you guys can help me out...
Here I post the part of the system log when the reboot takes place. Can somebody confirm (or deny) that Parallels Desktop 5 could be the cause?

30/08/11 00:55:40,000 kernel sleepI have found the cause of the automatic rebooting of my MacBook Pro. In fact it was not an automatic rebooting, but an automatic logging-out of the system.
In the security and privacy settings (beveiliging en privacy in Dutch), there is an option to automatic logout after a certain time of inactivity (log uit na een periode van xxx minuten).
This was selected and was put on 160mins. I don't know how this was set this way: did I do it one time myself or was it by default this way.
Because I get the same login-screen after display sleep, PC-sleep, and logging-out, I couldn't see a difference. -
CFML gateway : java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
I though that CFML gateways were designed for long running
tasks, but my tests tends to show the opposite :
whatever I do, it always crash with a
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError
I made a mass emailing gateway, following the CDFJ article (
june 2005,
volume 7, issue 6 : the asynchronous CFML gateway)
that is to say :
- a classic cfm page that defines the needed struct
(arguments for the gateway cfc) then a call to the gateway.
- the gateway cfc is very basic : it makes a query to
retrieve email adresses from a database then loop over the query
and for each adress send an email.
I use cfoutput query + a cfmail for each email because i need
to make a bit of other things in the loop (every 100 email sent i
made another "update" query to keep an information of what email
were sent.
I have about 150,000 emails to send but plan to send more
(1,000,000. I'm not a spammer, all adresses are opted-in).
The first time it crashed around 25,000 emails.
I tried to maximize the JVM settings (maxperm, maxheap, ...
to 512MB then 1024MB), it then crashed around 55,000, but whatever
I do it still crashs before the end of the task. The server is a
dual xeon 3.0 ghz with 2 GB of RAM and is running Coldfusion 7.0.1
(updater 2) on windows 2003 std.
I also replace the cfmal tag by cffile tag (for each adress i
write then delete a small file, to simulate activity without really
sending tons of emails
... and remove the "every 100 loops update a
counter" query... it still crashs (but around 360,000 loops).
Just in case, I tried the cfsetting timeout in the cfc, the
timeout in the struct passed to the cfc... no effect.
So I'm a bit confused about the aibility to handle long
running tasks...
The exception.log files contains :

probably several way to handle this. here's one:
one asynch gateway, one CFC, pass in query conditions &
let it work (do the
query, send the mail). instead of one monster loop of 500k,
maybe 10 of 50k
would work better. it's all the same to the user/main app--it
hands off the
processing to the gateway & goes on to do other things.
you can easily call the
gateway 10x in the main app, since everything's happening in
the gateway it's
very fast as far as the user/main app is concerned.
i'm not sure what your UPDATE query is actually used for but
you could easily
hand-off parsing send logs, etc. to an asynch gateway (could
even be the same
one that's running the email, you can specify a different CFC
to use) to handle
that. or if you really wanted to get "fancy" have a look at
sean's concurrency

i've combined gateways before. for example, SMS & asynch
gateways work very well
together (cf can melt down SMS aggregators fairly easily). so
having more than 1
gateway handle a job's not a bad idea. -

You can use the following methods to activate BC Sets-
--Choose Tools -> Customizing -> Business Configuration Sets ->Activation in the SAP menu,
or
--enter the transaction code SCPR20 in the command field.
--Enter the name of the BC Set which you want to activate.
--Choose Bus.Conf.Set-> Activate or the Activate pushbutton.
The following Activation Options dialog gives you information about the activation. The Activation Options dialog contains all activation-relevant information. There is no longer a Simulation function pushbutton. The simulation is implicit, i.e. any problem messages are shown in the Messages field in the Activation Options dialog.

To simulate an activation:
Choose a BC Set in the activation transaction (SCPR20).
Choose the Activate pushbutton or the menu path BC Set ? Activate
If the BC Set contains variable values, you are prompted for them. Enter the values and confirm your entries with the Copy Values pushbutton.
Choose the Cancel with Log pushbutton in the following activation option dialog.
Result:
The message Activation simulated appears in the status row.
You can see the activation simulation log with the Activation Log pushbutton.

You can:
Overwrite data: You can specify whether default values are to be overwritten by the activation, i.e. whether all the values of the BC Set are written into the system tables by the activation (possibly overwriting values in the system tables), or only the values with the fix attribute are overwritten.
In this way, you can overwrite only the global values from company headquarters, without affecting the local default valuese, in a global rollout with BC Sets.
Select activation mode: If you have the required authorization, you can activate in expert mode.
Enter the transport request number when asked for a Customizing transport request and choose Continue.
If the BC Set contains non-customizing-relevant data, e.g. master data, you are prompted for two transport requests. Enter both numbers and choose Continue.
If some fields in a BC Set are defined as Variable, the Enter Variables dialog box appears. All fields which were given the Variable (Get Value) attribute when the BC Set was created, and are flagged with this icon in the table, are listed here. If several data records in one of these fields have the same values, the name of this field only appears once in the dialog box. The Value column contains the default values. If the values are different for each data record, the default value is displayed in the Value column for each data record. You can overwrite proposed values and choose Copy Values.
One default value is usually the current value of the BC Set. If the user has already changed the value, the last value entered is proposed.
If there are short texts for the data records in the Variable Field Text tab, they appear at activation in the Value column instead of the original field names.
A warning that original tables are overwritten by activation of BC Sets appears. Choose one of the following three options:
1. To proceed with the activation, choose Activation.
If several BC Sets are being activated, only those which have not yet sent an error message are activated.
2. To simulate activation, choose Simulation.
Simulation tests part of the activation procedure and creates an activation log. The log tells the user whether the simulated activation reached a certain point. A successful simulation does not guarantee the success of a subsequent activation. The errors in a simulation would occur during activation.
Simulations write no data in customizing tables or transports.
3. To cancel the activation, choose Cancel.
The system checks for key conflicts in the BC Set.
Key conflicts occur if there are two data records in a hierarchical BC Set with the same key but different values. In this case it is not clear which of the values is to be put in the original tables. The activation is cancelled if key conflicts occur.

I would like to know what's the best/easiest way to alter the color and brightness of an Icon IE in a JLabel.
I wish to do something like this:

You can't create an instance of Icon since it's an interface, you should create an ImageIcon:

Client Certificate Mapping authentication using Active Directory across trusted forests

We currently have a setup where the on-premises environment and the cloud environment are based on two separate forests linked by a 1-way trust, i.e., the exist in the on-premises AD and the 1-way trust allows them to use their
credentials to login to a cloud domain joined server. This works fine with the Windows authentication.
We are now looking at implementing a 2-Factor authentication using Certificate. The PKI infrastructure exists in the On-Premises Forest. The users are able to successfully login to on-premise servers configured with "AD CLient Certificate
Mapping".
However, we are unable to achieve the same functionality on the cloud domain joined servers. I would like to know
1. Is this possible?
2. If yes, what do we need to do to make this work.
Just to clarify, we are able to authenticate using certificates by enabling anonymous authentication. However, we are unable to do the same after turning on "Client Certificate Mapping authentication using Active Directory"1. Yes!
2. Before answering this I need to know if your are trying to perform a smart card logon on a desktop/console or if you just want to use certificate based authentication in an application like using a web application with client certificate requirements

We will eventually need it for smartcard logon on to desktop/console. However, at present, I am trying to use this for certificate based authentication on a web application.
To simulate the scenario, I setup up two separate forests and established a trust between them.
I then setup a Windows PKI in one of the forests and issued a client certificate to a user.
I then setup a web server in both the forests and configured them for anonymous authentication with Client SSL requirement configured.
I setup a test ASP page to capture the Login Info on both the servers.
With the client and the server in the same forest, I got the following results

AUTH_TYPE: SSL/PCT
With the client in the domain with the PKI and the server in the other Forest, I got the following response

Can LabView simulate multiple nodes on a single CAN bus?
We currently are developing a system where a single control panel controls a number of drive motors over a CAN bus. Each of those drive motors has electronics and software in them which tracks the status of the motor, and this information is sent over the CAN bus to the control panel.
We have previously used Vector CANoe to simulate the activity of the drive motor nodes on the CAN bus during development of the control panel. We want to move to LabView in order to run this kind of simulation.
Is it possible for LabView to be used to run this kind of simulation? Each node would have its own CAN ID on the bus. It would need to send out appropriate periodic status messages on that CAN bus that would be based on user inputs. It would also need to display certain information based on commands sent to it via the control panel over CAN.

Error - While activation of Data in DSO

I'm facing following error message when tried to activate the data in DSO - The data went through fine in PSA and when triggered DTP to load data in DSO; the monitor showed green but when activated in DSO it's giving following error message. I transfered the global settings but facing the same following error message:

Any idea that why it's generating this error message while activating data in DSO. I checked those records in error stack and seems to be a date issue but I checked the factory calendar and check the validity and that's fine and is within the factory calendar data range.

try the global settings once again then delete the PSA(if records were less) nd load from source and then load to target.
this may solve if all settings were fine.
if records were huge in PSA, try correcting the records in error stack after allowing the good records to the target.

I'm trying to get a transaction working with my control, but I keep getting the following SQL exception:
"The transaction is no longer active - status: 'Committed'. No further JDBC access is allowed within this transaction."
I have a main jdbc controller that calls other jdbc controlers. The method in the main controller has the following annotation:
@TransactionAttribute(value=TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRES_NEW, rollbackOnCheckedException=true)
Then anootation on the methods in the subcontroler:
@TransactionAttribute(value=TransactionAttributeType.REQUIRED, rollbackOnCheckedException=true)
I try to call the method in the second controller twice from the main controller. The first time I have it inserts a record into the database and the second time it causes an exception (on purpose for testing the rollback). But instead of rolling back the first record gets inserted into the database and the second record causes the "transaction is no longer active" exception.

I did look at it and I'm using it to simulate the same thing I'm trying to do. Here is what I did:
I changed the insertGroup method in the CustomControlImpl.java file to the following:

Production Order in In-Active Version

I have a production order for Assembly product (say A1). In this order, under component view, we have component (say C1).
in MD04 for C1..,
a) I see the dependent requirement
I created a simulated version such that it considers the firm receipts from active version.
Now, in MS04 for C1,
a) I see the dependent requirement.
My requirement is to remove the depenent reuirement in active version, but to retain the dependent requiremnt in in-active version.
How to do that..?
As of now, when i remove the component from Production order, its impacting both my active and in-active versions (ie., its kicking off component in both MD04 & MS04)

There could not be a simulative dependent requirement for a production order. What you can do is to create an independent requirement in the version which your LTP scenario supports, and simulate the dependent requirement in active version. -

When I am activating the version 3.5/03 I want to make sure I don't lose those custom attributes and also want to know how this will impact the cubes,ODS,Infosets,Update rules,Transfer rules, queries etc associated with this InfoObject. Can anyone please help me out with this issue.
Also while trying to simulate installation of an InfoObject,it ends up with red light. It gives me a message that one of the attributes in the latest version is a navigational attribute and the older version it was a display attribute.Hence while simulating I check both the install and match/copy box so that I can transfer the selections without having to make it navigational but end up with the red light. Is it advisable that I go ahead with installation or how should I go above it.

when you activate the new version , the version is changed from M to A and the new business content would become the active state...
But then since the old BPartner IOBJ is being used in ODS.. cubes etc , I am not sure if your Business COntent installation can proceed since there is master data as well as the same being used across BW.
You could try a merge instead to see if he new fields as part of the new business content is carried over.

SPM 5.2 - problem with reason/activity fields - not showing in the report
Dear experts,
I have a situation that is hard to describe.
We have SPM 5.2 - all set and working, now the problem is that for some of the FF sessions the tool is either not reporting the reason/activity fields (due to some technical problem that is occuring randomly) or the users have found a way to abuse the fields and make thier way around them. (these fields are very important for our SOX controls)
I have created test users to see how they are entering without filling the reason/activity fields, but no luck - i couldnt enter.
As you know the Activity field is mandatory text field and at least one character must be entered, but I don`t think this is the workaround, because even if you put space the report still will show it. I have examples where the report is not showing anything.
The worst is that I can`t simulate such cases.
Have you ever heard of such nosense?

IliyaI think I found it - Application deficiency. It is the language that you are logged with. If it is not English the application is not recording the text that you type in the reason/activity fields upon FF session.
I hope the latest patches are fixing this!
