I have developed Dynpro Application in windows enviornment. One of the intended client uses safari on mac OS. How can i make my dynpro application work on mac os ?

How to recover an application from Server - Very Urgent!

Hello,
I have accidently deleted an important DynPro application I've created from the Netweaver Developer studio.
When I search it's name at the server I see many many ear (and wda) files with the name temp<MyApp_Name> from different dates, I guess each deployment is creating such file. How can I recover my application back to the Netweaver Developer Studio from these ear files?

If it is the application which you have deleted then reimport without saving the project or create a new application for the project.
Hope you have not deleted the proect from work space.
I believe you cannot retreive your project from the ear file.
Kindly close all the queries that has been solved.

Error while running the application on OC4J (Very Urgent!!!)

What is your desired startup page? Is it something like home.html, or index.jsp? Are you opening the application with a URL like:
http://myhost/myapp
If so, you probably need to add the welcome file definitions in your web.xml file. You can find the syntax in the OC4J docs.

I looked in console and its saying that it may be because of Sophos Anti-Virus, i deleted and uninstalled all traces of Sophos but looked in console and this is some of the lines coming up:

My client is using discoverer 10g with R12.He is using different non oracle applications like BRM Application (database is oracle only) for that they wants to develop discoverer reports.It is possible to integrate with non oracle applications with discoverer.

You're really not supposed to manage a non-Apps mode EUL and an Apps mode data within the same URL. Having said that, I have a hunch you just might be able to do it and there are 2 ways. You can either make the data available to user who login using E-Business Suite credentials or you can make it available to users who have database credentials. The first one is straightforward and you do it just like any other data. Let me give you some hints regarding the second method.
First of all I ahve not personally tried this and you may find that because Discoverer was initially set up in Apps mode that somewhere down the line it will make the suers connect this way. However, the following is worth a try.
I would a new schema in the Oracle E-Business database to manage the link to BRM and create a database link from this user to a user in the BRM database. You will also need to create user accounts within the database for anyone who needs to login and run BRM reports.
Next, I would create views in this new schema pointing at data across the BRM link, thus allowing Discoverer to think these are local objects.
In Discoverer Administrator, you would need to log in to Discoverer using the owner of the EUL - NOT using SYSADMIN or any of the other E-Business Suite accounts. You should log in with the Oracle Applications checkbox unchecked. You can now create new business areas on the BRM data. You should also be able to assign users to Discoverer privileges and users to business areas.
Using the same URL you would have Apps users connect using the E-Business Suite item on the drop-down for logging in and you would have BPM users choose the Business Intelligence Discoverer item.

I capture the Windows Desktop screen and saved it as a .jpg file. I then display the .jpg file on frame ( whose size is that of the screen ). Now if i click on the frame, the corresponding Window's application should be invoked ( i.e if I click on the frame where the Start Menu is shown, then the Start Menu should be opened ). Not so easy.A JPG file is a compressed map of a "picture",nothing more. So , You have to get a reference to an object of this map - You can't save to a simple file (JPG) and expect to do what you want to do.Think something else , not a simple snapshot.In Win98 you have a directory "Desktop" where are all of your icons , in Win2000 you have to search in "Documents and settings\User_name\" or something like this to find the same directory and get all icons.Therefrom look for "Properties" and find the path to execute the exe file.It must be something like this I think.Hope have been helpfull.

URGENT: Strange behaviour by Web Dynpro applications

We are running NW04s SP8 Portal and WAS and we are developing all our applications with Web Dynpro JAVA.
As our most of the applications are with multiple views, we are keeping one Web Dynpro view as default.
The applications run perfectly for a while. But, after running the same application for 5-6 times, the Web Dynpro application will start opening the "non-default" view as the first view. If we re-deploy the same application, it would work for a while and again the problem will start coming.
I have been working with Web Dynpro JAVA since 2.5 yrs, I havent come across this kind of error. I mean, it is the basic thing in Web Dynpro to set the default view for starting the application.
Can anyone please throw some light on this behaviour? or Is it related to some bug in Web Dynpro framework?

I have never faced or heard anything like that, it is really strange.
But can you just check if it has anything to take with cache, i mean like what often happens in internet explorer.
May be it is storing non-default views in cache and picking up those..
It may be like babbling but whats wrong in trying.

only first page of application is getting loaded and when we click on page it is showing error on status bar and we can perform any thing.

First try a very simple application with nothing in it just one text saying Hello World
Run it and see what happens.
Also check if your url uses FQDN name. something like https:
company.name.co:50000\.......
If you do not use the FQDN it will always show a script error on the bottom and some functions will not work e.g
dropdowns.

I am trying to use a webservice in a web dynpro application.
Web service description:- This is a very simple application which takes two String inputs and when submitted displays the string in the concatenated form.
Web dynpro:- I used this web service in the web dynpro as an adaptive web service model.
The Layout design consists of two input fields which are mapped to the request fields
ex : - Request_Add.Add.S1 and Request_Add.Add.S2
A text area to display the response:- Request_Add.Response.AddResponse.Response
And a button which invokes the execute method

Possible to change the charset of a Web Dynpro Application ?

Does anyone knows if this is possible ? To be able to change the charset of a Web Dynpro application or even changing it dynamically ? Thank you.

Sorry for not elaborating further again (This is getting to be a habit ;p).
I have the document on "international of wed dynpro application" but it appears to be more on customising the label fields to reflect the corresponding text in different languages. This is indeed a very cool idea. However, the reason why I am asking if it is possible to change the charset is because (do correct me if I am wrong)I need to display japanese and english characters and to do that I need to change the charset so that Web Dynpro can have them displayed properly. Is this assumption correct ?
I have actually log a CSN ticket on this query as well and this is the reply "...... My understanding is that with Web Dynpro Java being based on Unicode, we don't need to charset settings. One should be able to display both Japanese and other characters in parallel, automatically, without problem."

How to customize error mess, when an Web Dynpro application Deployed

Hi Frndz...
When we r deploying any web dynpro application , if there was any error in that WDP application its showing an error page the list of errors with HOST name n patch level n OS details n so many n with the line number of that error in the code.. Normally.
But as my requirement i need to restrict the HOST,OS ,PATCH details in this list to avoid the security issues.
If anybody have any idea plz share with me...
