Simulation Capture Problem CP4 - last character in text box cut off.

This is somewhat difficult for me to explain, but here is what we are experience. The issue we are having is when capturing a demonstration or simulation of our Windows based form in Captivate 4, occasionally the last character of text in a text box field appears to be cut off unless an extra space is added after the character. However, after advancing to the next field in the capture, the complete text does appear in the previous field. So it is actually capturing the text but for some reason it is not showing on the previous slide capture when that text box is active. We are capturing at a resolution of 1024x768.
Has anyone experienced this behavior? If so what was the solution?

Hi Kyle,
Yes, I have seen this one numerous times. Sometimes I find that pressing the Print Screen key after I have finished typing can help ensure that all the characters are captured correcty. Pressing the PrntScn enables you to capture manually and is something that many Captivate users prefer to do rather than rely on Captivate's automatic capture engine.
To be fair, if you own Adobe Captivate 4, then you might find that the new Capture interim screenshot feature (located in the Preferences dialog) might capture all the text for you automatically. Though I have to say that I still prefer to press PrtScn just to be on the safe side.

Last Character In Crystal Report cut off when ran via BO web interface

I created a report in Crystal and uploaded it to the Business Objects Web Interface.
On my detail row, the last character is getting cut off regardless of the length of the text. Even short words like "Yes" are losing the last character, and appearing as "Ye", and there is plenty of room available between the right margin.
The column header extends out further with no issues.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

Try with this:
Go to the following registry sub key:
HKEY_USERS\[your security profile]\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.2\Crystal Reports\Export\Pdf
Right-click the sub key and click New > DWORD Value. Name the DWORD value "ForceLargerFonts" and set it to the value of 1.

Since moving to Maverick and the new updated of Keynote, I have a constant problem when typing in a text box, the program crashes. Is there a bug fix for this. Drives me nuts.

Like many who can type quite quickly but at secretarial level, the text box freezes, nothing works and you know what's coming...crash!
This is most annoying. Is there bug fixes for this. Apparently I have the current updates and this problem still exists. Is it a Maverick bug or Keynote.

Text getting cut off when printing to PDF from Excel

     I've seen a lot related to this subject but nothing that shows a real solution.
     Using Excel 2003-sp3 and Adobe Acrobat v.9 Standard, the right half of the last character in the string gets cut off. It prints from excel fine.
     It's not always the text that is the right-most on the page either. An affected PDF file is attached - note the cut off "S" on the last line (NET ASSETS OF GOVERNMENTAL ACTIVITIES).
     Any assistance is appreciated.

Issue
Text is cut off or does not appear on a type layer in large images (e.g.,
400 MB) in Adobe Photoshop 5.x>.
Solutions:
Do one of the following:
Solution 1
Change anti-aliasing in the type layer:
1 Double-click the type layer.
2. In Photoshop 5.5>, select None, Crisp, or Strong from the Anti-Alias
pop-up menu in the Type Tool dialog box. In Photoshop 5.0.2, deselect
Anti-Aliased in the Type Tool dialog box.
3. Click OK.
Solution 2
Move the type layer, open the Type Tool dialog box, click OK, and then move
the layer back:
1. Select the move tool.
2. Move the type layer to the left until all the text is off the image.
3. Double-click the type layer.
4. Click OK in the Type Tool dialog box.
5. Move the type layer back with the move tool. Do not move it back using
the History palette.
Solution 3
Create the text using the type mask tool and fill the selection:
1. Select the type mask tool and click in your image.
2. Enter your text in the Type Tool dialog box. Click OK.
3. Move the type selection to the desired location. If you can see part of
the text on the existing type layer, you can use it as a guide to position
the type selection.
4. Select the layer on which you want the text to appear.
5. Select a foreground color for the type.
6. Choose Edit > Fill.
7. Chose Select > Deselect.
8. Remove the original type layer.
Solution 4
Create the text in Photoshop 5.0 or earlier, or in another application.
Then, import the text into Photoshop 5.x and remove the original type layer.
Additional Information
The type tool cannot create anti-aliased text larger than 8192 pixels on the
image canvas in Photoshop 5.x, although it can in earlier versions. The type
mask tool, however, can create selections that exceed this limit. You can
fill type mask selections to create pixels in the shape of type, but these
pixels are not editable in the Type Tool dialog box and do not appear on a
new Type layer.

Interactive Image - Text Gets Cut Off

Please see image - When second line (unbolded text) is not as lengthy as first line (bolded text) it cuts off. Is this a glitch or can I fix this somehow?

The first thought is did you save evenything. I have tried to reproduce your actions - but with a nor text box.. I have no shift in colour.
Are you using a standard text box?
The next thing I see is you appear to have chosen Apples free template "Editorial" and use it in its standard form.
Although text box's are not controlled by teh default template settings,, its advisable to first decide your colour scheme and basic layout in the template - Apple Changes to everything you changed - even of it does request you to.
The thumb shows the text box seems to overlay a photo galleryor some other widget.
Are you aware that even the basic template sits in layers stacked front to back if any object on your screen is not full size, then its possible another layer is cut off ie the content is forced to flow under a layer which sits on a higher lever.
In iBA select a layer that is "cut off" and select ARRANGE in the top menu bar and click on Move to front. Check if your lost content appears. It may be one or more layers are active at levels which block your content.
Using a basic free template and then changing content in any way just on your work page - can often result in the default setting overriding your choice in preview.

Text gets cut off when exported to PDF

When I export my report to PDF some of my text gets cut off where it would meet the right edge of the text box by 1 or 2 letters.
This only happens when I export to PDF through my web application or when I export it throught the Report Manager URL
If I export it on my local copy of SSRS then it shows up fine without the text getting cut off

You can set the Cangrow property of the textbox to true which allows to grow your textbox and is default for any text box unless you have changed it.

Retain last value in text box

Hi all,
I created a html page to the content server. In that page I created a popup. When I call the popup I can write some text in the textbox to do a search on my database. Then, the results are displayed in the popup. However, if I want to do a new search I have to write again in the text box. My question is: How can I retain the last thing that I wrote in text box? (only when the popup is open)
Like the content server does when we click on Quick Search. It shows the results and retain the value on the search box.

Yes correct, you have to change <input type="text" id="designation" name="designation" value="">
so your line will look like this:
<input type="text" id="designation" name="designation" value="javascript:document.getElementById('designation');">
My javascript is a bit rusty so if that doesn't work try: value="javascript:document.getElementById('designation').value;
(adding a .value at the end)
Another way of doing it can be by modifying your line <form name="Entities" method="POST" action="<$HttpCgiPath$>"> and say:
<form name="Entities" method="POST" onclick="document.getElementById('designation').value=
document.getElementById('designation').value" action="<$HttpCgiPath$>">
NOTE: for this last one to work u need to have that inside javascript tags, or add "avascript:" at the begining like I did for the input value above.

Problem adding images to html text box.

This one, like a steering wheel down the trousers, is driving
me nuts....

I have 2 text boxes on the stage, both are set to 'multiline'
and set to render 'html'.
they are also set to show the contents of the variables html1
and html2 respectively
via the 'Var' field in the property window.(so this is an
Actionscript 2 thing).
the html I'm using is a very basic <img src /> tag.
You can use any small image file you like to try this out,
just change both source file names.
(mine happened to be called bonkers.jpg, but gifs and pngs
seem to be the same).
When I define 'html1' directly, it works fine.
If I define 'html2' directly it works fine,
However if I define html2 via an array, although the content
of both html1 and html2 both seems the same,
(and all the trace code that follows checks this) the second
html box doesn't work.
It took me the best part of a day to figure out it was the
process of transferring from an array
that was causing the issue, but why ? What does an array do
to a string that makes it stop working at html ?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Giving them the same instance name was an error on my part, I
think it happened when I copied the text box across, but even
without the instance names or different instance names, the set-up
only worked when the html didn't come via an array. Perhaps not a
bug, but an anomaly.
I think I need to get out of the practice of using the
preference panel to assign variables to text boxes (something I do
a lot when debugging), and one barrier that's held me back from
switching to AS3. Now you've introduced me to htmlText(), there
will be no holding me back :-)

Text messages cut off.

So Ive had my Motorola DEVOUR for a few days. it's been working perfectly and i've been texting quite a bit.
But today while texting my friends back, they started asking me why my sentences weren't being finished.
Apparently my texts were getting cut off a few words into a sentence. So i texted my father who's on the same plan as me and all that and the texts were fine. Nothing was getting messed up.
Could someone tell me what might be the problem? Because i'm not sure how to fix it.

Are your friends on Verizon? Verizon is a CDMA network, and your friends, if they are not with Verizon, are most likley not on CDMA. This means that your text messages are going to have a character limit imposed on them of 160. So if your message is 180 characters long they will only receive the first 160. This also means that if you text a fellow Verizon customer 180 characters they will get them all. most other networks are not like this, hence if your friend texts you, you will get all of the message, even if it is more than the 160 limit.
Unfortunately the default texting app doesn't have a way of fixing this problem. Personally, I use an alternative texting app from the android market called "Handcent SMS". The app is free and sends all of the types of messages (text, video, picture,...). Not only does it send them it splits them at the 160 character point and sends them as multiple messages. in the settings menu you can change how it handles this, I have mine set to split on the whole word, rather than 160 exact characters which might put half a word in each of the two plus messages.

Text being cut off on screen

I have been having the weirdest problem...not all, but many of my text boxes are cropping the text...and if I continue typing to do a second line, it squishes the text together...almost like a leading problem for those of you familiar with typography...enlarging/shrinking the text does not help, does anyone know how to fix this? some examples are below, let me know, thanks

yeah I did a font evaluation and found problem fonts but font book could not get rid of them when I went to remove the problem fonts...so I removed all the system fonts (which were replaced) and them I removed all the regular fonts and put them into fontagent pro...thanks ago

Win7, DW CS6, Find and Replace, Problem: The "Done or Found" message is cut off based on your SEARCH dropdown choice.

The Find and Replace "Done or Found" message is partially cut off for "Search" dropdown choices "Source Code, Text, Text (Advanced), but not for "Specific Tag". It appears to be a programming bug sizing the "Find" and "Replace" text boxes too big for the "find and Replace" window. Has anyone else encountered this problem.

Excuse me for resurrecting this, but I have been living with this same issue, and many more issues (I won't list them here), since migrating to CS5 (understood this thread is for CS6. However, my post is relevant none the less). If anyone has the fix I would love to know what they found. But sadly, I doubt there is one.
My system and display settings are also Win7 at 100% display. When doing a Find and Replace I can barely see what the results are for how many occurrences in the find window because the bottom is cutting off half of the text, just like the OP screen shot above. If the results reads "Done. 2 items found" it can easily be mistaken for "Done. 3 items found" if I don't study it carefully because of the bottom half of the "2" is cut off.
I don't want to rant here, but I will a little which I'll confess is the real purpose of my post. I am so disappointed in Adobe for so many different bugs in their software suite which they choose not to address, or even acknowledge as existing. I've had their tech support on the phone while they were recording my screen as I recreated issues for them, they never got back to me on any of them. I just got lip service how their engineers are looking into it and they'll get back to me. This of course was when CS5 still had free support under warranty.
At this point I'm numb to it all and I'm stuck using their software because I'm used to it, which ultimately is their goal anyway I'm sure. You win Adobe.
BTW...if anyone replies, please do not suggest the basic troubleshooting steps. All of the issues I've had exists after multiple re-installs on formatted hard drives and on both of my PCs made by two different manufacturers with different hardware specs (both exceeded min hardware requirements). Not to mention been through various techniques while on the phone with them..

Last few seconds of stream cut off when recording a live stream

I'm having a problem with recording a live webcam stream. The last few seconds of the stream is getting cut off.
The recording is stopped with the following piece of code:
            vid.attachCamera(null);
            vid.clear();
            ns.attachCamera(null);
            ns.attachAudio(null);
            ns.pause();
What could be causing this? Is the stream cut off too soon? Is the client unable to send buffered data to the server?

Export to text file cuts off data...

I have a report that contains fixed width formuals that are in a text box. The data is 496 char wide. It will preview fine in a small font - but when I export to a text file it re-sizes the font to courer new 10 and cuts off data after 80 char. Any ideas?

Header and Footer Items in Adobe Muse? Also Menu text being cut off half way.

How can I make the header and footer items load faster in Adobe Muse? I am hosting with Business Catalyst. Everything else loads almost immediatly on my web page, but my Header and Footer graphic- wood grain picture- take almost 10 seconds to load, and almost a minute to load on mobile devices.
As well, my menu's are not loading correctly on other peoples devices. On my lap top everything looks fine, but on other peoples devices the text in my menus is only loading half way? -only shows half the text.

Hello,
It seems to be an issue with the Font that you have used.
You have used Bubble-one font and if you check this font in Google Chrome it is cut off and if you check in Firefox, it comes up fine.
Please have a look at this link in Google Chrome and Firefox and you will see the difference : http://www.google.com/fonts/specimen/Bubbler+One
I would suggest you to use some other font in order to fix it.
