Simultaneous photo and music streaming from itunes

I was wondering if its Possible to have a slideshow streamed from itunes while simultaneously browsing and listening to music streamed to the ATV2?
I'd like to have the slideshow as a "screensaver" on the tv while picking songs to play from my iTunes library.  Is even a playlist possible?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't browse and watch a slideshow at the same time, but you can choose your music prior to starting a slideshow.
Again you can't have the screensaver running and browse for music at the same time, but you can choose music to play and let the screensaver start.

  • Cannot download movies and music purchased from itunes to ipad

I have an iPAD 2 with WIFI/3G capabilities.  Currently I am unable to download movies and music purchased from iTUNES.  The only thing I can download with no problems are APPS.  I don't have a laptop/desktop with iTUNES, so that is out of the question.  Here is the kicker, my friend who has an iPAD 2 with WIFI only, is able to download anything and everything using the same WIFI connection.  Is anyone else facing the same problem?

Check settings, general, restrictions.  Make sure I tunes is set right.  Otherwise, log onto your account in I tunes, and make sure there is nothing strange going on with your accout.  If it works in the app store, it should work in I tunes.

  • Why are TV Shows and Music Disappearing from iTunes 10.6.3?

It started with my season pass for Walking Dead. I open iTunes mid-week last week, and they all showed a missing icon. Odd, but I'd watched them all, so I didn't really panic or even invesitgate. A couple days later, an entire album goes missing. Today, I have probably 20+ showing missing without any pattern as to why those files are missing. Some are part of complete albums, others are not. Some are .mp3 some are .aac files. I can guarantee you I did not delete them in iTunes, on my phone (whole library sync'd minus music videos) or on my iPad (limited sync).
    iTunes 10.6.3
    iTunes Match On

Unfortunately your 4S  phone could have worked with an older iTunes that works with your old system version but Apple makes it so a new phone requires the version of iTunes current at the time of purchase.  You do not tell us what model computer you have. Go to the apple in the upper left corner, then About This Mac, then More.  If it says Intel in the processor information you can upgrade your system to 10.6.3 by purchasing a Snow Leopard DVD from Apple online ($20), then free update to 10.6.8 to run the newest iTunes.  If you have a PPC Mac (older than about 6 years) you can only run the newest iTunes by buying a newer computer.

  • Lost all photos, and music, apps from my phone can...

Hi newbie here, had my nokia 800 for a over 12 months now and has been working ok up till 3 days ago, wouldnt charge at all no power, just vibrated and never started up. anyway tried pressing a few keys after looking at a few forums trouble shooting guides and the phone seems to have been reset!
i had a lot of photos of my daughter being born which are very precious to me and want to try an retrieve them, i also cant seem to find them on Zune only the few recent ones i have taken since the phone came back from the dead, is there any way of getting them through zune?
my phone has played up again in the last 24 hours but it seems to charge ok after a while.
    PLEASE help.
    regards dan

If you has the auto upload function for pictures turned on you'll find the photos on Skydrive. While I can understand it must be feeling bad you lost the images please ensure you backup and sync pictures to your PC on a regular basis. Something can happen to your phone so the golden rule here is backup your personal files..

  • Apple TV drops the music streaming from iTunes after 5-10 songs

I even changed the energy settings on my macbook pro so the disk drive does not "sleep" but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

That would indicate an issue with your wireless network. I would check for interference using istumbler as that is the most common, and especially since the one connected via Ethernet is fine

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping.  Note that in iTunes 11 an "empty" library may show your past purchases with links to stream or download them.
In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
Alternatively, depending on exactly when and why the library went missing, there may be a more recent .tmp file in the main iTunes folder that can be renamed as iTunes Library.itl to restore the library to a recent state.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library, or a backup of it, then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

  • Old Hard Drive Fried! How To Add Photos and Music from iPod to iTunes

Hello! I'm in serious need of some help.
My old hard drive died without any warning, so I lost everything that was on it. Luckily, my iPod is full of very important photos and all of my music.
How do I transfer these images and mp3s into iTunes on my new computer?
I've lost everything else, so the last thing I want to do is lose the only photos I have left along with the gigs and gigs of music I spent months gathering and organizing.
Please let me know the surest way to transfer these images and music files from my iPod into iTunes.
Thank you so much for your help! This event has saddened and exhausted me completely.
    All the best,

If you have any iTMS purchases the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers has been introduced with iTunes 7. A paragraph on it has been added to this article: Transfer iTunes Store purchases using iPod
The transfer of non iTMS content such as songs imported from CD is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs back to iTunes on Windows. The procedure is a bit involved but if you're interested it's posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. This is just a selection, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. Have a look at the web pages and documentation, they are generally quite straightforward. You can also read reviews of some of them here: Wired News - Rescue Your Stranded Tunes
    YamiPod Mac and Windows Versions
    iGadget Windows Only
iPod Access Mac and Windows Versions
    PodUtil Mac and Windows Versions
    iPodCopy Mac and Windows Versions
    PodPlayer Windows Only
    CopyPod Windows Only
If your iPod is set to update automatically take care when connecting back to your computer and an empty iTunes. You will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual and use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Don't uncheck Sync Music it will be unchecked by default when you choose the manual setting: Managing content manually on iPod
Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up in case you have problems again. External drives are comparatively inexpensive these days and you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay.
For some additional ways to retrieve photos from an iPod try:
    iPodPhotoCopy Windows only
    CopyPodPhoto Windows only
iPod Photo Liberator Mac & Windows
Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod

  • Importing Photos and Music from Multiple users on the same Mac

I am the same person with multiple users on one iMac. I need to have the same pics and music files on all of the user names on the one computer.
I have the family pack MobileMe plan.
Where are the files located for the photos and music in iTunes?
I would like to import them from one user to another user on the same computer.
    Thank you

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
If you Import the files from one User to another then you will use double the disk space on your HD as you will have multiple copies of everything. Why not simply share the files between accounts?
For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
(You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.
    Regards
    TD

  • Hi.. I'm new to mac, I've got a mac book air and time capsule is it possible to save music, video from iTunes Store directly to time capsule leaving my 128GB Mac free? If so  please help..

Hi.. I'm new to mac, I've got a mac book air and time capsule is it possible to save music, video from iTunes Store directly to time capsule leaving my 128GB Mac free? If so  please help..

You can move your iTunes library.. Apple have explicit instructions to do it. If the library is moved to the TC and accessed over wireless, the efficiency of the whole system will drop dramatically..
A file you download goes.. Modem---TC--Laptop--Back to TC--Store on disk. Double looping the wireless slows it dramatically..
As far as using TC for your iTunes.. you CAN.. but SHOULD YOU?
    Store files on the TC.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/24380694#24380694
This is asked several times a day.. obviously people are struggling with their latest SSD being too small.
The TC is not suitable for network file server.. but many people having no choice press it into service as such.
It cannot be partitioned. It was and is and ever shall be a backup device for Time Machine.
    Major issues.
    1. No backup.. no way Time Machine can backup a network drive. No place to backup to.. So all your files will be at risk. And you will need to buy a third party like CCC to do backup.
    2. The TC cannot be partitioned and mixing TM backups and data is not great.
    3. The drive is slow to spin up and quick to spin down.. there is no controls.
    4. iPhoto in particular can easily corrupt its entire library with wireless networking causing a disconnection to one photo. Even if you do this;;; do not move your photo library... you have been warned!!
    5. iTunes will constantly lose connection to the library. The disk is too slow to respond.. itunes on the computer will constantly spit out errors. Even in the midst of streaming the TC can spin down the disk due to caching.
    6. Do not use any live files on the TC no matter what else you do.. if you edit files in whatever program the file must be on the local hard disk.
    7. The only suitable location for most libraries is a computer. You can plug in an external hard disk.
Read pondini for some work arounds.

  • TS4036 how do i backup photos and music from my computer to icloud

How do I backup photos and music to icloud to download to my iphone4s or ipad.  Not having any luck transferring by direct connect

You can redownload music purchased from iTunes as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.  Music from other sources can only be accessed from iCloud if you subscribe to iTunes Match.
Photos can be transferred by putting them in a folder, then selecting the folder on the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings and syncing.  Or, you can transfer them over wifi by using an app like PhotoSync.  To stream them with iCloud, you have to set up iCloud on your computer as explained here: http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html, enable photo stream, then add photos as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2606.

My original computer that has my itunes account on it no longer works.  I am trying to import my phones itunes settings into my new computer and it is not letting me and I don't want to loose all my photos and music, what do I do?

It does not magically appear in a new place.  It will only be where you put it.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

i just got anew hp laptop.  it does not have windows.  I want to be able to link my iphone with my laptop but don't know how.  want to be able to get my photos and music from my phone to my laptop and be able to load music on to my ipod. Is this possible to do

I think there is still no APP or a way to copy music or videos from Iphone to PC. Pictures can be copied when you access the storage of the iphone from PC. Not sure if you are using other laptop before with itunes where you organize everything about your iphone. If you have, copy the Itunes folder from My Music folder and paste it on the new laptop you have, (you need to install Itunes first on your new laptop before doing this)
