Simultaneous playback and recording?

I was wondering if there was some way I could record videos of myself while playing music?
It seems that the built in camera app disables all playback functionality--which is pretty annoying, seeing as I want to record some stuff while music is playing.

this is not possible, if you want to add music to your videos you must purchase iMovie for ios from apple.
i'm not sure but i don't think there is another way on ios

  • Simultaneous playback and record

    Hi all,
I'm trying to assist our music department as they begin using Logic, but I am unfamiliar with the software. They have been unable to figure out how to play back their score while recording vocals at the same time. I assume that this is possible, and I'm wondering if someone here can point me in the right direction. Thanks!
    -Jonathan

    I'm not with you.
When you are recording, whatever you have going on in the arrangement is also played back.
Can you be more specific with what you are trying to do, what you have done, and the behaviour you see? Also what hardware you are using (audio interfaces etc).

  • Simultaneously Play and Record.

    Hi
I'm working on a application where I need simultaneously Play and Record.
I followed the code of 'SpeakHere'. I got some success also. It is playing and recording simultaneously, but the problem is it plays audio through headphone speaker while recording. I wanted it to play through external speaker.
    thanks.

That is, literally, all the code I have behind my "Enable Speaker" button. Are you sure you've set the Audio Session's category beforehand, and enabled it?
I see you're using the SpeakHere sample code. It does take care of setting up the audio session and enabling it. But it uses the "Media Playback" category of the audio session, rather than the "Play and Record" category.
Look for all the places in SpeakHere where they set the audio session's category (for playback) and change it to the "Play and Record" category. The property I mentioned above only takes effect in this category.
Good luck! If you're still having trouble, a chunk of code or some NSLog output might be helpful.

  • Disabling Sound Devices (Playback and Recording) via Group Policy?

    Good day,
I am using an HT-Omega Claro II soundcard which has multiple playback and recording options once installed. For this specific configuration, I want to be able to disable all the unwanted options (including things like the standard PC speakers) in such a
way that only an administrator can make modifications to the available devices. Is there a way to do this via a GPO? I know that via the Sound control panel I can (and have) disable the options I do not want to be available, but there are some users who are
saavy enough to be able to find them and re-enable, which is creating problems for some of the applications that need to be used.
Any input on how to rectify this is greatly appreciated.

I dont think there are sound specific GPO's. If you want to disable the sound, you can disable the sound service from GPO :

  • Audition CC randomly loses playback and recording functionlity

Any help with this issue would be great. I'm using Adobe Audition CC and after a few minutes the playback and recording functionality lock up. I'm still able to edit and save as nomal, but that's it. When i hit 'play' the icon lights up as if it's playing but the playhead doesn't move.
if I click away and allow the program a few minutes of running in the background, sometimes, functionality returns,

Thanks for the reply. I'm still experiencing the issue, but I think I'm a bit closer to understanding it. The Yeti has built in drivers meant to work with the windows MME drivers, but the Yeti Pro requires it's own drivers to be downloaded from Blue's website. Unfortunately for me, the Yeti Pro comes in two subtly different models. One that works with the Blue mic Yeto drivers (identified by the letters USB printed by the usb output) and one that Yeti prescribes the TUSB 1.22.0 drivers (the version I have that is absent of the lettering). I believe herein lies my issue. The TUSB drivers are rubbish.
I've since turned off windows sounds and experimented with ASIO4All. Still with interupted recordings and playback. I've got a ticket in with Blue and am going to see if they have a program that lets me swap this TUSB version for their version that uses the proper Yeti Drivers. ASIO4All doesn't identify the mic unless the TUSB drivers are installed, so it seems like for now I'm stuck with them.

  • CPU overload during playback and record

This happens here and there but is not a consistent problem, and for that reason I feel that it can be corrected. Out of the blue, during playback or record, all of the sudden my CPU meter will start spiking and the audio will start getting interrupted until it just gives up and I get a dialogue box saying overload. I always make sure all other applications are closed to avoid this. What else can I do?

    1. Have an empty Audio Track selected during playback (= no need for Logic to wait for realtime MIDI input)
    2. Increase Audio Buffer
    3. Turn off "safety" buffer. "safety" is very misunderstandig... In fact, it makes things unsafer in terms of playback stability. (BTW: Did anyone find out which "safety" is meant, anyway?)
    4. Turn off Airport, go offline, turn off antivirus and such things. Just let Logic be the only big application running.
    5. After some playbacks, the caches should provide enough information so that Logic runs more smooth than with the first playback. So - if you need Logic as live tool, let it play the project once or twice before.

  • CS6 Windows 8.1 Playback and Recording errors

We are running Audition CS6 on newer Windows 8.1 computers, using the internal sounds cards to eliminate any USB or driver issues as culprits.  Here is a breakdown of our problems:
When opening a file from an external program, Audition will not play back the file.  Previously, when opening the file, it would start playback immediately.
After launching a new instance of Audition, the program will not record after hitting the record button.  It will open a new file like it did before but will not begin the recording process***We have a work around in which you deselect and select the sound cards and restart Audition.  Works but not to the best of it's ability.
When switching users, the default sound devices will change.
Each of these problems happen sporadically with no real pattern.  We did not experience these issues at all on Windows 7.
    Thoughts?

  • Nokia 5230 video playback and recording

I own the latest nokia 5230. The problem is :
    1) When I doing video record using setting TV high quality and Widescr. high quality, it seems
that my video skip on certain seconds. Using email high quality and below doesn't give any
problems but the quality is very poor.
    2) The problem also occured on playback. Realplayer can't play the skip second on recording
and then run as normal back after certain time.
It happens all the time as long I used both video setting. I just want to know the solution for this or there is any video recorder software like ETI Camcoder in Nokia s60 series?
Sorry for my bad grammar. I just don't know how to describe this problem. Thanks a lot.

This could be caused by a slow memory card...try this to confirm...
backup your card  data in pc, format your memory card..
then make video. .... i hope no bugs in video
i have same problem i am using china made card

  • Playback and record to ipod

When I playback albums from library that were imported from CD, and do not have any "pause" between the original tracks, the playback "pauses" between tracks. Have checked crossfade to "0". When I record to my ipod the results are the same.
Sample = "Dark side of the Moon".
    Any ideas ??
    PC   Windows XP Pro

Unfortunately, iTunes doesn't feature gapless playback, thus you'll always have a slight pause or crossfade between two tracks.
A possible sollution would be to import the entire CD as one track.
To do so, highlight all tracks on the CD before importing, then choose "join tracks" from the "Advanced" dropdown.

  • Dropped frames during playback and Record To Tape

    Mac G-5, OS X 10.4.4; 4 X 2.5 GHz; 4.5 GB DDR2; NVIDIA GeForce 6600 w/256MB.

Maxtor 300GB Internal, Format Mac OS Extended (journaled)
Tape deck, Sony Mini DV GV-D1000 NTSC FireWire 400 port used for digitizing and mastering.
Have searched forum for solution to dropped frames. Based on other suggestions, set Final Cut Pro 5 RT button to SafeRT; Playback quality to High; Playback Frame Rate, Full. Compression rate at 75%. Sequence > Render All-Video Needs Rendering;Audio, For Playback Render Only-Mixdown.
System Settings--Scratch Disk Video Capture and Audio Capture set to RAID. Video Render and Audio Render set both to Maxtor or RAID. Either case dropped frames.
User Preference--Real-Time Audio Mixing, 2 tracks (have also tried 4 tracks, which equals # of tracks actually used).
In spite of changing all the above settings, I still get dropped frames. Am I missing yet another setting that will fix the problem?

Any heavy filtering and/or effects?...including audio, since you've specified the same number of audio tracks in your real-time audio prefs that you're working with...

  • Playback and record  Audio Tracks

    Dear all,
Maybe a simpel question for you to help me out.
    I use Logic Pro 8.
I recorded a song on track 1 and now i want to record vocals on Track 2
Can I play track 1 while recording vocals on track 2?
    It doesn't work.
    Thanks in advance!!!!

It works with me fine, because when I do Audio recording I use headphones so the microphone doesn't pick up what im saying/singing over and over again.
I always hear what I already have on Logic.
Maybe you have to change something in settings or preferences.

  • Audio playback and recording latency

When I quit video/music or utilize recording features like the voice memo, I'm having to wait 10 seconds while holding a button or starting the feature associated. This also includes apps being updated to ios 5. Any way to speed this problem up?

A slight departure from previous behavior is that Audition no longer automatically changes the sample rate of your device.  There were too many problems when switching between different applications (e.g. between Premiere Pro and Audition, or Audition and Windows Media Player, etc) and the clock setting changing on the device, and then the device "freaking out" (to put it politely).
So, if there's software that came with Echo where you can change the clock settings, you might want to set it to 96 kHz there first, and then Audition CS5.5 should just go along with 96 kHz.

  • Is Simultaneous Playing and Recording Impossible in Vis

I have been scouring these forums for answers why this Sound Blaster X-Fi card running in Windows Vista can not record from an internal source, (Analog Mix, or What U Hear.) So far,all I found was that the Creative FAQ says that the Xtreme and Titanium cards are "excluded" from having "What U Hear" as a recording source. Did I read this right
When is Creative going to release drivers that will allow me do do this thing that nearly all previous cards cound do, going back to the Sound Blaster Live Do you realize that the card is useless to me if I can't record from an internal source
I look forward to your prompt response.

You read it right I'm afraid.
The *official* reply on these forums was in this thread.
Both the X-Fi Platinum and Fatalty Champion Series have the "What U Hear" recording option in Vista or XP environment. There shouldn't be any difference in music production as both cards uses the same chipset. If you are into music production, I would suggest taking a look at the EMU systems too.
I don't think this is a driver fix either.
Funny you should mention the Li've as that can do "What U hear" with some drivers written by a guy who used to come on here.
It really needs someome like him to look at this issue and tell us whether a driver work round would do it, but given as many other cards don't do it in Vista I have my doubts.
Just seems the way sound chips work these days.
The X-Fi XtremeMusic that Creative no longer make has it.

  • Simultaneous acquisition and recording

i want to make synchronization bw labview visual evoked response acquisition with stimulus which is given in the form of windows media player or vlc player... is this possible with labview signal express?
    thank you...

If audio in the video is not part of the stimulus requirement, I would recommend playing the video directly from LV.  Depending on how the video was encoded, it may or may not play without modification or re-encoding.
If you have to pick between WMP and VLC, VLC has an extensive API that can be tied into, to control the player.  The only thing I have found not working is when trying to embed the player in an ActiveX control.  For some time now, that has been broken, if it ever worked at all (I think it did).

  • How would I add voice to text and record it to audio

I have a soundblaster 6 and text assist program I have several large text files that I want to have spoken and recorded in wave format and burned to CD, How would I go about duing that?

    Gerge,
I think this should work, but I don't have a text reader to try it. In the Creative Surround Mixer, select What-U-Hear as the Rec source. Turn on record in a recording application such as the Creative Recorder. Activate your text assist program and have it read a text file. Everything you hear should be recorded. (Make sure your soundcard is selected as the default playback and recording device.)
