Simultaneously capture from 2 webcams  CS4 ?

I am trying simultaneously capture video and audio conversation between therapist and client with ability to switch between video images in final edit. Is this possible?  Using windows 7, it seems as though the webcams all have USB, but I do not use webcam audio input- I have separate mixer and mikes for this- also seems to come with USB out.  I am open to getting other video & audio devices but have a restricted budget.
Thanks
Bob

Thanks- that settles it.

I think you should start the processor, just after the datasink is started.
    datasink.satrt();
    p.start();
Try it and ask again if it's not the problem.

  • Transmiting video captured from a webcam to another system through internet

Hi there, I developed an application catch video stream from the webcam and transmit it another system within LAN network , I would like know possibility to senting it over internet to another system?? is it possible sent this streams to more than one location simultaneously. Any idea?
    Best regards
    anoop

    hi tony
Thank you very much for reply, I very appreciate this.for tansnsmitting video using rtp protocol we need to specify the network output for media transmission(ie Medialocator).what i mean is we need to create a medialocator specifing the destination of our broadcast. which look like a typical url rtp://address:port/content-type ,here the address is the address to which video must be tansmitted.to transmit in unicast mode this address should be the address of the intended machine.its working fine.to transmit in mulitcast mode with a subnet we can do this by replacing 255 with last field of the address part.it also working fine within subnet so that we can display video captured from one cam to multiple destination
** this is the real problem whcih i m facing now is how to make it to work in internet? to mutliple destination? whether i need to create multiple medialocator url??? anybody have any idea? plz help thanking u in advance?

  • Capturing from a WebCam

    Hello everyone.
OK, so I've been using CS2 for a long time and loved it. I just got Windows 7 64 bit, with some more RAM, and got the demo of CS4.
Now, one thing I use CS2 for is pasting my silly face of pics....in CS2, I would get the pic, then 'File - Import - USB Cam...'
But in CS4, there's no option to Import from my webcam...what am I missing? Coz if I can't do it, I'll just stick to CS2.
    Thanks,
    Philly

The web cam is 64 bit...in CS2, I can grab images galore, but in CS4, there's no option too.
I'm wondering if there is 'another' Adobe bit of software I might need. :|

  • Transmiting video captured from a webcam to another system on Intranet

    Hi Everybody,
    Need your help.
I have created an application in SWINGS which transmit my live webcam video to client in the intranet and the clients receive the live webcam Video.
Now I have modified my code to run the same thing in Applets i.e. in form of web application.
But it does not show anything on the client side. Can you help me out in doing the same.
As I am running short of time, do reply me at the earliest.
    Thanks and Regards.

Application transmitter -> Application receiver (works)
Application transmitter -> Applet receiver (?????)
Applet transmitter -> Application receiver (?????)
Applet transmitter -> Applet receiver (Doesn't work)
    And report the results.

  • SunVideoPlus: capture from both ports simultaneously

    Hi all,
Is it possible to capture from both ports of a SunVideoPlus capture board simultaneously?
I have successfully created 2 frames, each for a media locator sunvideoplus://0/1 and sunvideoplus://0/2. When starting the capture, a video stream appears in one of the frames. The other displays a snapshot of the same stream. This makes me believe that only one port can be used at any one point.
Alternatively, has anyone worked with switching between ports at some high frequency, e.g. every 1/15 seconds or every second?
    Thanks.
    - Alex

I've got a similar problem in which I would like to process multiple streams from several webcams at once. I'm getting this popup thingy to choose the stream, but I would like java to be able to handle it.
    Any idea?
Sorry no answer to your question, just another question :-)

  • Selecting microphone when capturing video from the webcam

    Using Final Cut Pro X
I want to capture video from my webcam into Final Cut.  I have a USB microphone (Yeti) with which I want to record the audio.  I cannot find an option to select my input source for audio when capturing this footage.  Final Cut seems to default to my microphone on my webcam, which causes echoing and noise. I can select the USB mic when doing a voiceover, but when I capture video I cannot find an option to select my input.  I've made my USB mic my default device in Sys Prefs, but that doesn't work.  Any other ideas?
    Options
    1.  Figure out how to change the default input for webcam capture in Final Cut
    OR
    2.  Use another program.  I've also tried to do the same in both QuickTime and iMovie, and they both capture audio only from the webcam as well.
Everything I've found online talks about voiceover.  I don't want that.  I want to capture video with it.
    Suggestions are appreciated.  Thank you.

Thanks.  Don't know why I didn't see it.  That arrow is pretty small.
I do still have an issue that I cannot figure out.  I'm using the same mic for webcam recording (now in QT thanks to Luis) and in Final Cut for voiceovers.  Though I'm still on the same Mic the sound is not the same.  It's close, but the sound on the voiceover sounds cleaner and clearer.  I'm sitting in the same spot speaking the same way, but the sound quality difference is noticable.  Not sure why.
It seems that the difference is in how each software deals with it.
It may be that QT is sampling audio differently from FCP X somehow, or using a different audio codec or whatever.
Just guessing, I really have no concrete knowledge.
Oh, wait: there are a few things that I can notice, after trying a small example: the QT audio is AAC at 44.1 KHz,
the FCP X is AIFF at 48KHz. Compression and sample rate are different.

  • Capturing, timestamping and saving a video stream from a webcam ?

    Hello everybody,
Glad to be in this forum.
I got to do a program in java doing :
    - a capture of a video stream from a webcam
    - adding time and date on it
    - saving the video stream in a video format compatible with linux and windows
Is it possible to do that in java (using JMF I guess) ?
Could anyone help me to progress on my project ?
    thx a lot
    agussi

Hi agussi, yes, it's possible to do that in Java using JMF.
I'm not a JMF expert, but I've found this code very useful: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=570463&tstart=50
This piece of code shows the webcam stream and you can take snapshots with it. With a little tweak you can do what you are expecting.
    I hope this helps.

  • Capture from Webcam using avicap32.dll

Is there any sample LabVIEW Program for capturing image or recording video from USB webcamera using WIN32 API's from avicap32.dll without need of having IMAQ Vision?
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Sowji,
Though there is no direct example for using that particular dll, there are many examples that can be found by using the LabVIEW help, especially using the help >> Find Examples... and searching for DLL.  Even using the help and searching for call library function node will return many useful articles on using the call library function node.  Also, there are more articles on ni.com.  A search on our website for "external dll" or "using dlls" returned a couple of interesting articles that you may want to peruse.
External Code for LabVIEW - CIN / DLL - Starting Point
    Using External Code in LabVIEW
Also, a search on Google returned a page describing some of the functions of the avicap32.dll that will be useful.
CAviCap and CFrameGrabber - wrappers for AVICap Window
I hope this is usefull.  I think that after looking through these resources, you should have a good base to use this DLL with LabVIEW.  Have a great day.

  • I would like to capture from several different sources simultaneously.

Is this realistic with one computer or would it be better to purchase additional units for capturing as well. And if I was using them primarily for the purpose of capturing as well as networking for the sake of speeding up compressor would any of the smaller systems be adequate?
(I could possibly need to capture from up to 4 devices at the same time)

What Randy and David say is true.
    Here's my story.
For the last few summers, I pick one day to do a sunrise to sunset time lapse capture from the deck of my lake cottage. The camera looks out across the back lawn, to the dock, the lake and the hills on the far side - about 1/2 mile away. The sky is an enormous presence.
The first time I did this was a spur of the moment lark - a "wouldn't it be cool if" moment. I had a camera, a tripod, my laptop and software which could capture using time lapse. I hooked things up quickly, turned everything on and voilà. The video turned out wonderfully. Each year since, the production has gotten a a bit more involved.
    Last year ...
I watched the weather reports daily. I went online tracking weather patterns moving across the continent. This was all undertaken to pinpoint the day when we would likely get the perfect combination of sky, light clouds, strong sun, wind and water.
It looked like the day was coming. The evening before I placed the camera on a weighted and braced tripod in a secure area on the back porch. It was under cover and secured to keep it from moving if there was a breeze. The area was cordoned to keep people from walking on that part of the deck to prevent vibrations. The laptop computer went inside the house on a very secure table. The camera and computer were both connected to house power but each had a fully charged battery attached if we lost power.
I ran a 3 meter Granite Digital firewire cable from the camera outside to the laptop computer in the house. All cables were taped down or routed so there was no possibility for someone to trip over them. The firewire cable was connected to the laptop via a PCMCIA firewire card and there was an external FW400 drive connected via the computer's OEM port to hold the captured material. The drive was bus powered so even if we lost power, the computer's battery would keep things going.
Before I went to bed, I insulated and covered the camera with a waterproof setup to keep it from getting wet from condensation or there was an unexpected thunderstorm during the night.
Up before dawn, I uncovered the camera and had the capture running when the first light showed in the eastern sky. It was a spectacular sunrise.
After breakfast, I checked on the setup. It was humming along so I went for a swim, ran errands in town, played a round of golf.
It was a beautiful day. The clouds were marching across the sky, the lake had small ripples as wind played on the surface. The sun was strong which generated sharp shadows marking the passage of time. The whole day I was thinking, "we nailed it, this is THE PERFECT day to capture".
Late afternoon, I came into the house and on my way upstairs to take a shower and change for dinner, I noticed the laptop. The cover was closed. I had left it open. With my heart racing, I opened the lid and the computer woke up ...
Someone - (no one ever admitted to touching the machine - even under threats of withholding all ice cream) - closed the lid and the machine went to sleep. There was no capture as the temp file ended up without an EOF marker. All that I had to show for the day was a several hundred MB unrecoverable file.
The next day dawned with a foggy rain that hung on for the last few days of vacation ...
    good luck,
    x

It works fine on Intel Create & Share CS110 Web Camera. But now, I'm try to capture from the TV Capture Card Pinnacle Studio PCTV TV Capture Card (Composite Video).
But JMF Registry is not able to detect the TV Capture Card (connected alone) & my PC hangs. But, when WebCamera is plugged in, JMF Registry detects it.
When Both WebCamera (USB port) & TV Capture Card are plugged in, then JMF Registry detects only Web Camera.
If anyone can help me resolve the problem. I'm very thankful.

  • Image capture from avi vfw device can't find video modes

    Hello
Here my issu, i have implemented image capture from a video device using jmf 2.1.1e performancepack, using a webcam everything is fine but when i use the video capture source i want to use i can only work with format 720x480 pal and i require 720x576 pal.
jmf seem not to reconize video format from this source, but the video is correcty displayed and image correctly captured. I'm surprised it is half working:decoding&render is ok to but not format choice.
I have check it is not because i'm in ntsc mode (ntsc is 720x480) because my analogic source is pal and color are correct (if with device software i change to ntsc mode i have a black&with but using jmf i'm in color so i'm in pal mode)
Difference bettween the webcam and my device is that my device is an avi encoder so in jmf webcam is javax.media.format.YUVFormat and my device com.sun.media.format.AviVideoFormat

the device support many configuration UYVY 235x288 352x576 .... 720x576 but JMF offer only 1 video mode for this device.

    CaptureDeviceInfo deviceInfo = CaptureDeviceManager.getDevice("vfw:Microsoft WDM Image Capture (Win32):0");
    Player player = Manager.createRealizedPlayer(deviceInfo.getLocator());
    player.start();
// Wait a few seconds for camera to initialise (otherwise img==null)

  • SOS Capture issue selects webcam not camcorder mac

Sorry to beat a dead horse if this has been posted already but I ran into an issue while capturing some videos. I currently am trying to use two cameras to capture some videos, GL2 and XH-A1, while connecting to Premier however the webcam is selected as the capture source and will only record that image not the camcorder. I have a firewire hooked up and when I operate the controls for the camera at the bottom it plays the camcorder but it still captures the webcam image not the camcorder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK so thanks to the guys above the posted there replies but I finally figured out what the deal was with the capture select issue. Like most video editing software you can change the source that you are capturing from. The problem that was really strange though was that I could still operate the camera through the fire wire (rewind, fast-forward pause, ect.) but the image that it would capture was from the webcam not the camcorder.
After messing with it for a while I found a solution. For those that have a Mac and are running into this problem here is how to go about selecting the correct source for capture. Apparently by default the webcam will automatically start up when you select the capture option.
When you select the capture option you will be presented with this screen start by selecting this video button.
Next you will see this screen select the source button on top.
Next you will need to select your DV Video. Currently in this screen I do not have my camera hooked up so the option is greyed out and not selectable. However when hooked up it will turn black like the Built-in iSight option.
As previously stated by default the iSight camera is selected which is why I kept capturing the webcam and not my camcorder.
Well I hope this helps out to anyone else who has a macbook.
The only issue I have with this is why do they put the option to switch sources in such an obscure place? Other editing programs I've worked with have a button right below or to the side of the play and record buttons that say source. Adobe I love you but could you make CS5 a little bit easier and user friendly?

    can anyone help me?
    Thank you very much

    Hi AbSoiLoki,
Thank you for your reply. I have been able to locate a couple of different options here for you to try. There is a previous post for a different printer that is having the same issue with the printer mapping a Z:folder.
The link here will direct you to a post on the HP Forums with some trouble shooting steps for you to try.  Click Here.
I have also included another document on How to stop printers from grabbing drive letters, Click Here,
