Since 10.4.6, the battery doesn't work

The day after I installed 10.4.6, after about half an hour on battery power, the machine just shut down. Now it won't run on batter at all (yes, the battery is fully charged). Runs fine on AC, but not at all on battery. I've tried zapping PRAM and resetting the PMU, to no avail.
Anyone having a similar problem? Maybe the 10.4.6 update is a total coincidence, and I've had a problem on this machine once before, but thought I'd check for similar problems before sending it in.

Very interesting, Lionel - that is, indeed, exactly what mine does. It lasts a few fractions of a second before it dies, and when it comes back, it's as though I've zapped the PRAM, i.e. it doesn't know what time it is.
(I don't think this necessarily means the internal battery is dead - the way to find that out might be to do an orderly shutdown, then unplug for a while, then start back up. I haven't had time to do this, but I bet it wouldn't reset the clock. My guess is that the little clock/pram battery is fine, but that the abrupt shutdown is somehow zapping the PRAM that stores the time.)
You mentioned your PB is 4 months old, so it's also the higher-resolution/dual-layer Superdrive model ("powerbook 5.8" in System Profiler)? Had you installed either of the Battery Firmware Updates?
Please post back if you find out anything. I'm doing some work right now that keeps me from being able to part with the machine for a week, so I haven't taken it to my local Apple store. But this must have something to do with the firmware update that seems to have been part of the 10.4.6 update, right?

We certainly want you to have a phone that works at all times. You will not be able to stop the software update, but there are a whole slew of great changes on the new software. I recommend allowing the update to finish. If you happen to have issues with your device afterwards, please let us know! We'd be happy to help iron out any troubles.

I was given a used iPod, and the battery doesn't work for that long.

I want to take it to the Apple Store and see if they can exchange it or give me a new battery, but the iPod isn't registered under my name. My brother said that I have to give the registered name, but I'm unsure what it is, because who I got it from had gotten it from another person. What apps are you using when your Macbook is running on batteries?
What do you have loading in your login items?
Open Activity monitor and see what's running under All Processes.
Were you playing games when your Macbook is running on batteries?
Did you turn off your bluetooth?
Do you have anything hooked up to your usb ports?
The above comments or questions factor in the way your battery last when using your Macbook under it's own power.

The troubleshooting steps detailed below may help get your iPhone's display to function.
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
If the low-battery screen appears, charge the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?Contact Apple Support.

Mac Mail Version 6.0 (1486) has stopped recieving mesages regularly and the search doesn't work.
Since installing Mountain Lion, Mail seems to be very unresponsive. I have mac mail running on an iMac (which works fine) and a 2012 MacbookPro which is the one having the issues with the Mail app. Both computers are running on Mountian Lion.
When I scroll up in Mail for instance, the frame rate drops to about 5 a second.
When I click on a message it doesn't display it in the preview pane. Which is very annoying!
But I can get around the issue by double clicking on a message and it opens up the message in a new window.
When I search for a message, nothing appears in the results. Even if Im searching for something that is defiently there, eg if I type in my name, you'd think some results would come up. But when I click on something else, the results dispaly for about half a second. Bizarre. Is anyone else having this problem?

what kind of error in browser you are seeing?
is search service application never starterd or its started but cannot crawl?
did you see the timer jobs related to search services and what's their status?
so what about the search results from site collection?
also make sure this service "SharePoint Search Host Controller Service" started on all servers in the farm.

My iPod 5th gen connects to wifi but the internet doesn't work.

So we were watching netflix on the ps4 and something happened and now my ipod will connect to the wifi but the internet doesn't work. everything else connects just fine to the internet just not my ipod. I've renew my lease, reset my settings and network, forgot my network and rejoined, turn my ipod completely off and back on, turned my wifi off then back open. The IP address is 192.xxx.x.xx

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Thanks a lot for your advice.
Deleting the correupted back up means to delete the information of one month since the last back up I made is one month ago.....right?
This back up I made right before I restored my iphone. During the restore however my OS was upgraded to 5.1.1. and reading the comments on the internet it seems I am not the only one whom experience this problem.
Can it be that if I downgrade my OS back to 5.1. the back up will not be considered as corrupted? If so, how do I downgrade the iphone?

9800 new battery doesn't work

I bought a new battery for my torch, cause the old one draines very quickly. so the new battery doesn't work, it has an X and the OS doesn't load. I've reinstaled 3 times the OS so it's not this problem. also I've charged the battery 1 day, with blackberry original charger.
I've tried every step I found on forums but with nou luck
any help please..
the battery it's new, it's the same as the original one, I don't know if it's original 100% but it's the same as the one I had before.

I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, see what happens.
If the behavior ceases, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
If the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you should investigate more harsh remedies...WIPE, OS Reload, OS Update, BBSAK Wipe/Reload, "Bare Bones" diagnostic reload process, etc.

Satellite M70: Battery doesn't work anymore

The battery of my brand new satellite M70 doesn't work anymore. I didn't use the portable for about a week and when I tried to start it (from battery), it didn't do anything. The battery was still loaded (63%) I have to connect the AC adapter to the power supply to make it work.
Meanwhile the battery LED is always orange. The battery doesn't load, battery power remains 63%. I tried to remove the battery for a while and put it back in, but this didn't change anything...
How can I solve this problem?

Possibly the battery has a malfunction. It would be very interesting to know if this issue happens after battery replacing.
According to your posting the warranty should be valid the battery replacement should be done for free.
I recommend contacting the Toshiba service partner in your country and ask the guys for the help.

More information: I used another MagSafe charger and it worked with the battery connected, like nothing happened. I run the apple hardware test and it showed that everything is ok! I would replace my MagSafe adapter, but except that it works fine without the battery, it also works fine on another macbook pro. I am confused! Any more advice please??
